She just patiently waited for the laughter to end before she resumed her work the smile being fought off of her face so she could carefully keep her emotions from taking over on the project. Lattice nodded a little, "I would do anything for you Freya, it goes without saying that I love you too," the thought of this made her heart tremble with fear but ... It was natural to love friends right? The fear of losing Freya was tucked away with the other emotions.
Lattice didn't stop Freya from looking even as she kept working at a lower part of the leg now, the progression showing that it wouldn't take too much longer now, "Yes it is going to hurt a bit but it will be worth it," Lattice uttered quietly though at the next observation she just smiled softly, "I would suggest refraining from that, yes. I...find that pain comes with its own pleasures I ... get a lot of enjoyment when I tattoo myself," she admitted quietly. The Engraver resumed working though soon a new observation poured out of her followed by a question, "I find they often mix don't they? Doesn't being intimacy come with its own special sweet little pleasures and pains?"

Freya almost wished she didn't know what Lattice meant. For the first time in a while, a bright blush flooded the ghoul's cheeks, and she was glad Lattice couldn't see it.
"I guess yehr right." A quieter Freya replied, and she settled back down to let the tattooing resume. Of course, now she was trying not to think of the act in a sensual way, which was hard. But she tried. It was important that she tried.

Lattice allowed herself to smile just a tiny bit before and then allowed herself to focus on the task at hand so that they could get the tattoo completed in a timely manner. Still, as she worked, her voice sang out softly, "If you cry, the boat you'll ride~, the last trip to the other side. Once you get there, the sacred marks you'll bear..."
The rest of the song was lost under her non-existent breath as she completed the tattoo. Once done she leaned back a bit and gazed down at those glowing marks with a bit of pride welled up within her chest.
"There, it is done," she said quietly before she went and took a damp cloth to gently clean away the excess blood and ink for Freya so she could have a better view.

Freya had taken several long, calming breaths as Lattice finished the tattoo. She hardly felt the pain anymore. It was actually pretty unnerving - but when she announced the tattoo was done, all of Freya's worries fled out the window and she sat up to look at her friends handiwork. Her face lit up and she squealed from pure happiness.
"Lattice, it looks so cool!" She started to clap in overexcitement, and then moved an inch - only for the pain to remind her of what they'd just done again.
"Ach. Okays. Now I will sits here for a bit, ja? Is so beautiful, Lattice. Yehr amazing." Her voice was heavy, breathless, and in complete awe. She wanted to touch it.. but she knew better.

She smiled a little wider at all the praise she received - it was doing wonders for her esteem but it was wrecking her humility all at the same time. Quietly the Engraver started to put on a couple of protective coverings on the tattoo so that the ink and blood that still insisted on leaking out could be caught and the herbs the coverings were covered with could preserve the tattoo and do a bit of a painkilling effect.
Lattice hummed softly, "Oh, Freya, you flatter me always," she said as she regained a bit of humility again her hands now moving to put up the tools she had used to tattoo her friend, "You are welcome to stay for however long you wish, we can rest together and talk of all things you desire. I will make sure to feed you when you are hungry like a good ghoul take carer~," she teased softly with a small grin.

Talk of all the things she desired..
..No, Freya was probably not going to stay long, after all.
"I do likes teh be fed." She admitted in a rush, bouncing helplessly. "Whatchyeh gots for me?" Lattice had said the magic words. Freya was always hungry.

Even if Freya only talked on one thing she ever wanted at length into forever Lattice would probably sit and listen soaking up Freya's presence like a sponge.
Lattice smiled, "I have small raspberry tartlets and other small pastries I picked up from a bakery," she said cheerfully, "perhaps you would like to try a couple of them with me?"
Her tone was hopeful.

The sound of pastries delighted the valkyrie. Her eyes lit up with glee, and she squirmed happily. "That sounds DELICIOUS! I would loves some, please."
She brushed her fingers across the wrappings covering her new tattoo, and sighed. "How long should I not moves?"

After everything was put away properly she got up and went to the small kitchen area to get the box of pastries from a cupboard, Freya's question was met with a small smile, "Give it thirty minutes to let the herbs work, I will give you a small mixture of the stuff I used to put on the tattoo each day," she said simply as she returned over to Freya after she had built up a platter of nice warm tea and a plate of the pastries arranged neatly as she possibly could get them.
"So enjoy the pastries with me until then, and I will help you get to your dorm after~," she chimed up in a tone edging on the happy side of the scale.

Freya sat up straight and looked at the pastries, sighing in delight. She made sure Lattice was right next to her before she dug in, and enjoyed all of the pastries with her friend, in a rare moment of quiet comfort. It didn't last, of course - Freya was babbling on soon enough, even after she received the mixture and Lattice helped her back to her dorm. She turned at her doorway once she was there, and leaned in to give Lattice one last kiss on the lips.
"I will never forgets this, Lattice. Yeh has my trust, I will be at yehr side for anything. This is a debt I will never be able teh repays."
She grinned toothily, and bit her tongue.
"Thanks yeh."

Lattice enjoyed the treats with her dear friend, even happily helped Freya back to the dorm and when they paused in front of Freya's door she was rewarded with a kiss which she returned happily and sweetly. Such a sweet innocent little ghoul she was.
She tilted her head, "I will always be at your side as well, Freya," she said simply though she had no real debt of her own to repay other than the time that the Valkyrie came to her aid at the haunted house.
"It was my pleasure to engrave your skin, it was a wonderful experience for me," she said softly.

"I'm glad!" Freya chirped happily, and gave her friend a careful hug around the shoulders. "I'll comes teh sees yeh later to shows yeh how is looking, okays?"

Lattice offered a small nod as she leaned lightly into the hug and then pulled away, "I look forward to seeing you again. Let us not be apart for so long again~," she said gently as she offered Freya a small bow, "Have a good rest, Dearest."
With that she turned and started to make her way down the hall again toward her own dorms once more. It was almost amazing how Lattice had managed to memorize every twist and turn to get around.
