Night shook the water from him and tried not to feel sick in the fact that he was completely drenched. Jack dammit. Stupid beach, stupid water, stupid crabs.
His only saving grace was that his team mates were so much better at handling then him. "I'm okay..." He looked down to Lacie before reaching down to hug her. SHE WAS TOO PRECIOUS. His tail flicked behind him. His face instantly brightening up. "Anything for the Princess's and Queens. Good to hear your alright too Lacie." He looked over at Aurian who patched up the rest of the castle.
"Good job Aurian! Thank goodness the Tide didn't get it." He looked at their work and nodded. Back to the way it should be. "Mai? Vaith? How are you guys doing?" He looked over to the two, double checking that they were both alright.

A large tentacle rose out of the waves, hovering menacingly over the sandcastle. Aurian meeped. After staring at the new threat for a moment, she sighed and hung her head. There was no catching a break out here!
"Why does everything on this beach hate our castle?" she asked. Aurian summoned her scythe to her hand. Unlike a monster she didn't have claws, nor the magic of a demon. All she had was her weapon and she was damn well going to use it. Besides, their area of beach was running out of handy projectile weapons like the sea urchins.
She made a sight, bikini-clad with her double-ended scythe. But that was the last thing on Aurian's mind as she swung at the green tentacle.

Mai was turning, just about to answer Night, when it happened. She stared, absolutely stunned, as the kraken made its grand entrance.
Um. Ok. Wow. Those were some giant tentacles.
The ghost did the first thing that came to mind and hurled some sand at it. Surprisingly, she seemed to score a solid hit on the monstrous appendage.

Vaith's hands were clapsed slosely together, in a method of concentration, as he tried to summon his fear into the markings scattering and forming, scattering downwards from his partially covered body. His fear was still relatively new to him--
-- It took a lot of effort to bring out the noise markings in the forms of dragon claws and tail to simultaneously attack.

Mai kicked a sizable chunk of sand at the slimy limb. Score! The looming tentacle writhed wildly in response to her meager attack, flinging a large amount of salty water everywhere. She was splashed right in the eye. That.. stung.. a bit.

"Nice shot, Mai!" Aurian cheered the ghoul on.
She saw Vaith summon his claws and tail, using them to strike at the tentacle. Spirits rising, she turned back to the tentacle. "We can do this!" This new opponent was going down, just like the crab and the tide. Nothing was going to get the best of them.

This time Mai tried an up close & personal approach to her attack. She jumped at the nearest part of the tentacle and kicked at it fiercely. Her attack was solid, but so was the reprisal. Mai was knocked back roughly by the twisting assailant. Unfortunately the thrashing arm also smashed a section of their castle.

From the corner of her eye, Aurian could see that Mai was kicking some serious... um, blubber? Suckers?... well, Mai was rocking it. Aurian wasn't doing quite as well, but she thought she wasn't doing too badly. Nothing to make her hide in shame - at least not so far.
So this was what they called Ghoul Power? Aurian approved.

Awwww crap. The tentacle's retaliations were more harmful to their castle than to the students. Mai struggled for a better plan of attack. In the meantime, she resorted to the good old "throw some sand and hope for the best" routine.

Still at a loss, Mai continued to fling random things at the monster in hopes of driving it away. Her attacks seemed less effective than before, but the kraken's flailing arm was doing more and more damage to their castle. Another crashing *THUD* rocked their little section of beach as the tentacle crashed against a sandy tower.

"We can do it!" Aurian encouraged the others. Surely they couldn't fail now, after doing so well against the other challenges?
Gearing herself up, Aurian charged the tentacle with a war cry. It was surprisingly effective! (Go barbarian ghouls in bikinis!)
