Compleatly oblivious to the small drama she was causing him. Her herd were a touchy feely affectionate lot, even the more reserved of them were tactile. To her it was alien to not touch. Something catching her eye, making her gasp and dash off a short distance away. Trotting back something held carefully in her teeth, setting it down on a bit of wood he had clawed off as it was mostly flat. Having found a bit of broken quartz crystal, the shard vaguely diamond hsaped... if they were stretched in a funny way. Heze beaming as it sparkles in the moonlight. "Is it not pretty?!" Sometimes there was no avoiding that she was female, she had a thing for sparkles, not lots, but small things that sparkled a little, like this crystal, the stars, water under the moon... It was her girlish fanciful side and it showed itself now and then.

Haki had been so distracted by his thoughts that when she first started running his eyes widened in shock... had he just scared her off by not returning her open affection? He blinked, trying to figure out how to 'fix' things when she actually came back all on her own, holding something in her mouth... it looked like crystal, and she looked at it with open love and fascination an idea came to mind, he would make it into a gift for her! "To me Heze.... I make you a gift now."
He hoped he wasn't being too forward, his gesture was designed as one to make her happy... for the way her eyes sparkled, the smile upon her lips... a creature as beautiful as she should look that way all the time.

Blinking at him surprised and grinning bringing it over for him to see. "You seem very clever at making things... I can just about make a mess.... I'm.... not creative..." A little sad about that but then not everyone could do wonderful things, and she would find a way to express things, much like with the protector training she hoped she was getting closer to being accepted for. Her eyes going to the sparkle of the silver in his eyebrow again, wondering how it had gotten there, if it had hurt... Wanting very much to ask so many things....

He nodded to her as he accepted her precious stone, placing it on the ground beside him he started to repeat the motion with the branches, and the bark removing, the slicing and all the other things that his claws did automatically now. "Ni hobby yangu." (It is a hobby of mine) He said, hoping she would understand a little.... though with the language being so different perhaps that was too much to ask. He was learning so fast since no one understood him... and since everyone here seemed to speak the same language... it was learn or get hurt. He had learnt a long time ago that differences could get you killed, even if you came in peace.
"Mkufu au bangili?" (Necklace or bracelet?) He asked moving his leg with the braclet for 'braclet' and shaking his neck so that the silver their jingled for necklace. Hopefully she would understand that. Part of him hoped she would pick bracelet, not because he wanted to do less work, no, rather he rather liked her neck just the way it was. The graceful slope of it like a swans.

Watching him, having settled next to him, giving him enough space, not wanting to hinder his creativity. Not sure what the words were but taking a guess and nudging his bracelet with her nose in answer. "Bangili?... Bracelet.... Mkufu.. Necklace?" Nudging the necklace next making sure she had the words the right way round first.

He nodded at her as she asked her question. "Yes." At least he believed they were on the same track. When it came to including the crystal it took a little effort to keep the gem still while he tied grass around the top and bottom of the it, and then adding added support by placing a flatened twig behind it. The first hoop slipped so he redid it, silent as he focused. The second time worked better, tugging here and pulling there he added the gem detail to the line of wood he had started... now he simply needed to know what length was needed. Necklace or Bracelet. Taking a break he looked up at her waiting to hear what she wanted.

Blushing a little at him making her silly little treasure into a gift, she nodded to his leg. "Bangili please! Giving him an unsure smile, her pronounciation a little off, it sounding more like bangly when she said it but she was trying.

"Bangili it is." He said, not correcting her pronounciation, after all he was sure his own wasn't too good at times, especially with his accent and the way the sounds sometimes came out due to his beak like mouth. He finished it up; trying his best to make it the best piece he had made to date. He looked to her leg, checking to make sure visually that it was large enough. When it was done he placed it on the ground before her.
He hoped she liked it, but he decided not to ack directly, instead he would simply watch her reaction... sometimes that revealed far more than words. Words were cheap. Actions were hard.

Looking down when he was done doign whatever it was he was doing, looking at the small crystal she had found and smiled, looking over what he had made, the stone now fastend onto its own cord seeming the right size for her leg. Looking at him her eyes shining and twinkling. "Thank you Haki" Wanting to put it on right away but a thoughtful froen coming to her smiling face. "Does it need to dry?" Looking at Haki not wanting to do anything to ruin this special gift.

He couldn't help but return her smile, she seemed genuinley happy with it which made him happy. He hoped she was cheered up a little and wouldn't be as worried about family issues as she had original been. He nodded to her, appreciating the praise but believeing that it really wouldn't do her justice. "Hata kama mwezi kuangaza juu na kuleta bahati na furaha." (May it shine like the moon above and bring you luck and happiness.) At her question he replied, "Yes." He didn't know how to explain the process to her, it needed to dry so that the grass didn't break and untie itself so easily.... but he had yet to learn those words.

Heze nodded and smiled, very very carefully moving it to rest on the rock and dry, smiling at her treasure before settling her chin in the grass, sending out a puff of air and making the shavings drift away. Smiling and lifting her head, looking at him. "I wish I could make a gift for you Haki..." She was hopeles swith anythign crafy though

Gently he shook his head; "I need nothing." He said, his accent thick as a thought crossed his mind.... but he wouldn't allow himself to think about it, not even for a moment.... after all, Heze was out of his league. Standing to his all fours with a bird-like grace, he bowed his head. "I hope your family likes." He smiled softly, feeling that it was time to leave.... before he did something he would later regret. He could blame her easy touch all he wanted.... but he knew there was probably more to his train of thought than that alone.
"Nina uhakika watakuwa haunt ndoto yangu nzuri Heze, kuwa salama." (I am sure you shall haunt my dreams beautiful Heze, be safe.) A soft sadness filled his expression. "Kwaheri. Kama dunia vibali hivyo tutakuwa kukutana tena siku moja." (Goodbye. If the Earth permits it we shall meet again one day.)

Standing slowly, feeling oddly sad, his words having a sad feeling, gettign a sense he was going to leave. Stepping closer and touching her nose to his neck, just a light touch before looking at him. "Thank you Haki... I hope to see you again soon..." Having the feeling something more was going on than she knew, and she couldn't even ask him really. "Please be safe." Smiling still but it was a sad smile, her head wings drooping a little. Thinking something was making him want to leave, hoping she hadn't offended him after he had been so kind.

As she touched him again Haki froze. Again there was a sharp inhale of breath.... he really didn't know what to do with such 'easy going' affection, and even if he wanted to he really couldn't breing himself to touch her back... it felt awkward and uncomfortable to him to even consider it. He had not earned 'skin privalegdes' as far as he was concerned, though he had not yet pushed her away despite her assumption that she had his.
It took him a while before he was able to speak again, "You welcome, Heze." He smiled softly to her, gulping as he tried to reallign his thoughts. "You be safe too.... and.... look after your family." he may not know much about her, but from what he knew of her she loved the Moon and she loved her family.
He hesitated.

Watching him, noting his reaction to her touch this time, starting to think she might know what she had done wrong. Wondering how terrible of an offence it was for his people. Realisation lighting her face. "I touched you... thats whats wrong isn't it.... I'm sorry, I'm very sorry, please forgive me... I didn't mean to offend you..." Backing up a step before she did something else dumb to upset him. Not havign a clue how to put her mistake right, but she lowered her head thinking she would have to learn more of his people so she didn't do something terrible again.
