I'll be on the flip side of pearls posts, as its autumn heading to winter here, so I'll be trying to find hearty loli lollies (little aussie humour there, lollie = candy) around here.

Argg, I've been neglecting this place. I made a delightful orange cake just last week that I can post the recipe from. I modified a Joy of Cooking recipe to make it super orangey, at least as far as orange cakes go, because I didn't want to frost it.

I have the cutest recipie for Tea-Cup Flan somewhere around the house!
Its baisically ordinary flan, except you cook it in a teacup and there is some special instruction for flipping them just perfect! I made it once and it came out divine, if I find the page then I'll scan it :3
I found it in the back of a cooking manga, strange enough xD

That sound yummy!
I've been making popovers a lot, recently, and they are really simple, as long as you are patient. But, we have no eggs, so I can't make them today. sad Actually, there's hardly anything in the fridge. I hope my mom or dad goes shopping today, so I can help them choose food.
Preheat oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheight. (I found this is actually a little too hot for my home oven, but we often have to decrease the temperature from what's printed in recipes.)
Ingredients and Materials: 1 muffin tin (with 8 to 12 cups) 1 cup all-purpose flour 1/2 teaspoon salt 3/4 cup milk 2 TBSP honey 1 TBSP melted butter 2 large eggs
* Grease muffin tin. If you still have the butter wrapper, this works nicely to grease it with.
*Sift the flour and salt together
* Add the milk, honey, and melted butter. Stir to blend.
*Beat in the eggs.
*Fill each muffin tin just under half full.
*Bake 25-30 minutes, or until sides are rigid and the top and sides of the popovers are brown.
*Do Not open the oven for 25 minutes to peek or the popovers will fall, and not rise again. Use the oven light to check, if you're curious.
*Eat! I like mine with butter, and a smidge of honey or jam.

Ooh, that is really cute.
I made some more popovers last Monday, and found that when I actually did melt the butter, I got a better texture than when I only used room temperature, soft butter.
I'm trying out an orange cupcake recipe that I'll let people know about, if it works. Also on Monday I went to a new cupcake shop in my city, and had a delicious lemon cupcake and carrotcake cupcake. I'll try to take photos the next time I go, because the employees wear cute aprons, and it's really pretty inside. If there are any other lolita in Tacoma, I'd love to have a mini meet at Hello, Cupcake!

If there are any other lolita in Tacoma, I'd love to have a mini meet at Hello, Cupcake! Gah!!! You live in Tacoma!?! LUCKY! Thats where all my family is, and I lived there as a baby. Its my stupid father and his 'corporate gypsy' thing that has us running around the country for all of my life, gah I wish I could move back there ><. But I am hoping to visit my relatives after Christmas, it would be so fun if we could meet and talk or something (perhaps at the cute cupcake place). I wonder if I could convince my grandparents to allow me to go meet someone I met offline >.>;; But anyways, great recipie for a DELICIOUS cake! I tried it without the nuts, although it would be better with it. When its done it tastes like a soft warm fortune cookie, and would be divine with carmel sauce! Also, this makes a huge cake, and I mean big enough to serve 16 people, so make sure to half or quarter the recipie xD 2 cups light brown sugar 1 cup white sugar 1 1/2 cups butter 5 eggs 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1 cup milk 3 cups all-purpose flour 1/2 teaspoon baking powder 1 cup chopped pecans Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Grease and flour a 10 inch tube pan. Mix together the flour and baking powder; set aside. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar and white sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla. Beat in the flour mixture alternately with the milk, mixing just until incorporated. Sir in the chopped pecans. Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake in the preheated oven for 60 to 75 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean. Let cool in pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack and cool completely. Its really yummy <3 and smells delecious while baking, enjoy!

If your family isn't too weirded out, I would love to meet you after Christmas, and get cupcakes, or something. If they want to be there to make sure I'm not a creepy old man, that's fine. That cake sounds delicious. I'll have to try it sometime. 3nodding

Going is still in Libdo... but I really want to get out there since my grandparents are getting older and my grandmother has been getting sick a lot lately, so...... but that would be so much fun! >w<
