"Oh!" That took him by surprise, and as she pulled away from the fresh kiss, he straightened his glasses, "Honestly, it's like a week before. We could do both!" He seemed excited by the idea, "You don't really need much, just a few things we could probably find most of in the kitchen... The only thing that might be tricky is the Motzah! I ran a Seder dinner in college once where we had practically nothing to work from, ahahaha. We had the heavy guy sit on some bread to make our 'unleavened bread', my Gram was probably rolling in her grave! Ahahaha... Oh, and the wine."

"Ohhh, is it? Okay! I like this plan." Candace grinned, toying with Jerry's hair some more. "Did you? That sounds like fun." Though at the mention of someone sitting on the bread to flatten it she started laughing, rolling onto her side and curling up. Just imagining it was hilarious! Big fat guy sitting on a loaf of bread until it flattened and stayed flat! Haha! She hoped he sat on a plank of wood or something over the bread and not on the bread itself.
But then he mentioned the wine and she sobered up a little. The thing is, she didn't seem annoyed or bothered that he brought it up. In fact she held up a finger for him to wait a moment as she sat up and dug in the bag again. Candace produced the two glasses first, holding them out for him to take before she pulled a bottle of bourbon out as well. "It's not as high quality as what you had, but it's still good. I already had a taste of it...would you like some?" She wasn't trying to bait him or get him in trouble. She honestly wanted him to not feel he had to hide from her.

"Hmm?" He glanced away from memory lane and down to the bag with her 'present', his eyes suddenly lighting up with excitement and relief, "Oh...! Candace, you really didn't have to!" Clearly by the way he immediately lifted one of the glasses eagerly, he was more than happy to accept this gift.

He was very excited for this. Candace had expected it but she wasn't sure how to feel about it. "I know~." Candace chuckled, pouring about half of a glass for Jerry and for herself. She was going to control it. Jerry would not be getting so drunk he could barely function again; just enough to feel good, not enough to get wasted. She set the bottle down between her thighs, drinking a slow sip with a happy noise. Damn she loved bourbon.
"I used to drink a glass of bourbon before exams to relax my nerves." She admitted with a giggle, sipping more of her drink. "My dad used to let me drink with him when I was in high school and stressing over stupid s**t." It was nice, really. It taught her responsible drinking to do it with a parent. He didn't mind if she got drunk as long as she kept it in the house; Candace did her best not to abuse that privilege but it was nice to have that trust. She wanted to give Jerry that trust but...it was hard with how she saw him every time...

"Ahaha, yeah, I've always been a bundle of nerves. My Gram used to give me a little vodka before bed to help me sleep when I was little. And before exams, definitely. And after to celebrate ahahahaha. I er... got a little out of control in college though. But. Well. Um. With everything going on, it was understandable, really. I gave it up for a while when I started student teaching." No sooner had he taken a sip or two, he did physically relax. "When I was in highschool, sometimes I'd uh... pilfer the cabinet a little after school if I had a particular bad day, just to concentrate on my homework and piano practice and stuff."
This really was nice. The sound of waves, the warmth of her cuddling against him on the blanket, the soft sand under them, and the warmth of the drink. He could almost forget what they were here for.

Ah, so that was where it came from. Candace giggled and leaned against Jerry, nudging herself so she was under his arm and moving the drink so it was by the bag and out of his reach for now. She was glad he stopped when he started teaching, though. "Mm~. I would've loved to have seen you teach." Candace purred, sipping her drink again. She hummed cheerfully, relaxing just as much as Jerry did the more she drank. "Do you have any favorites?" She asked conversationally, nursing at her glass and looking up at him through her bangs. "Maybe one day I could...try and get it." Maybe. A small bottle. Ease him into it so he didn't get out of control about it.
Candace sighed contently and closed her eyes, head head on Jerry's shoulder and nuzzling her cheek against him. This was nice, it was perfect; they needed this. "Ohhh, Jerry." She sighed, turning to press a kiss against his cheek. "How did I get such a sweet man to want me." Candace sipped at her drink again, turning to drape her legs across his lap and make herself comfortable.

Jerry flushed at her sigh, smiling as he wrapped his arm around her, careful not to spill his drink. "Same unknown that helped me find such a sweet lady," He murmured, leaning to gently kiss the corner of her mouth. Aside from the usual strain of constant forced enthusiasm leaving a tremble to his brows, he only pulled back an inch, his nose brushing past her's.
One more quick kiss and he suddenly pulled away to wash it down with another sip from his glass, he set it down in the sand to lift his guitar, immediately checking that it stayed in tune.

"Pfffft. The only thing sweet about me is my name is Candy~." Candace giggled, cuddling close against the man as he kissed her. She turned enough to get a proper kiss out of him, however, as he drew away, a quick, light one that left her smiling like an infatuated idiot. When he kissed her again she was very happy to return it, continuing to lean forward and nearly falling over when he pulled away. Ehhh? Why was he--oh! Ohhh! Yay!
Candace finished her first glass and reached back to grab the bottle and refill her glass, silently offering to do the same for Jerry if he wanted her to. The bottle was put away after she was given an answer. "Will you sing my song again~? I love hearing you play." She had her moments where she regretted giving him the guitar, like when he would try to get her to sing, but overall she felt this was probably the best gift she had ever given someone; he'd cried over it for goodness sake!

He laughed once he was sure the instrument was in tune, taking a long drink from his glass before putting it down again and continuing with a few experimental chords. He smiled, gaze sweeping from their surroundings to her, that calculated look of improve going through his head as he found the fingering he liked best and picked up the rhythm before playfully singing out:
"A little bit of Candy can do.
It's a little sandy, it's cool
Drink a little brandy, with you,
Cause my darling Candy can do."

Candace watched him raptly, sipping quietly at her drink and patiently waiting for him to be ready. Did he forget the song? She hoped he didn't--oh! This was a new song! She giggled with delight and sat back to let him play, putting her drink down to pick at her sandwich. She was still in enough of her right mind to remember she needed to eat while drinking or bad things would happen. Terrible things.
..Because his darling Candy~. Candace grinned helplessly as she leaned over the guitar to steal yet another kiss. "You are so sweet." She giggled, reaching up to trail a finger lightly along his jaw line. "I give, I give. You can call me Candy all you want." She was done fighting it. Besides, it wouldn't be fair to Jerry if she only let H call her Candy when she'd told him she hated it.

He laughed again, beaming proudly as he slowed down as though considering what sort of change up would be interesting there, "That's good! I'm sorry to save a lot more things rhyme with 'Candy' than 'Candace,' unfortunately..."

"Haha, that's okay. I understand." Candace chuckled, finishing her second glass and shaking her head. She usually stopped after two strictly so she wouldn't let herself get out of control but...
"Jerry.." She began quietly, looking down at her now empty glass and swirling around a drink that wasn't there. Candace hadn't felt this relaxed in ages. She sighed, giving him a hopeful smile now. "Tell me you love me~?" Maybe if she heard it enough she could convince herself it was okay. "I just...please~? I want you to say it over and over. Please." She needed to hear it. She needed to hear someone loved her. Candace crawled closer, leaning around the guitar to brush her lips against his cheek.

He flushed, fingers plucking a quick accidental discord as she pressed her lips against his, and for a few moments he leaned into it. There was definitely something calming in the taste of her, that washed clear through his lips and down to his stomach via his spine. A soft smile on his lips, he withdrew to drain the rest of his glass, offering it to her to refill before returning to the guitar and singing-
Strum, strum~
"Candace, I love you,
We can dance, by the moon-!"
He hesitated, looking embarrassed. "Ok, that didn't quite work, ahahahah..."

Her heart skipped a beat and her breath caught in her throat until it finally escaped her in a nervous laugh. You can do this, Candace. Love was a poison but you can fight through it, right? It felt..nice. "Say it again." Candace sat beside him, plucking idly at a couple of the strings. "There's a reason for it, I promise. I just want to hear you say it." She strummed the strings again, looking down at them. She'd never played an instrument other than a stupid recorder in fifth grade. How many instruments could Jerry play?
It could have been that she genuinely found it fun or just that...well...Candace was beginning to feel the booze, but when she plucked a string again she giggled. So she did it again..and giggled some more. "This is fun. No wonder you like whipping this out all the time~. I'm glad I got it for you." She plucked another string, giggling some more.

He leaned in to kiss her neck with a smile, "I love you for getting it for me! Although I'm pretty sure most of the facility thinks otherwise, ahahahahah... You want me to teach you how to play it?"
