kp606 Quote: You can't seriously believe that. No I mean the strongest symbol of being feminine is the ability to bear children, exactly, the v****a indeed. I'm not taking some redneck position saying the woman's place is "In the kitchen, barefoot, makin' me dinner", what i'm saying is, women are "mothers". Of the two sexes they are more compassionate and gentle (being general here). If you want to uphold the image of being a woman, if you eliminate any pride or acknowledgement you can carry children, you're destroying your identity. I'm not saying you all NEED to have children, this is all metaphorical. Lymelady I think what he means is that motherhood is a strong symbol of feminsim. Yes, that's sums it up. 3nodding EDIT: Lymelady It only devalues the role of motherhood, our most natural occupation Once again, sometimes I wonder why I don't just ask you to write everything. sweatdrop The last part was Cyanna, not me. I dunno about her, but I'll charge you 5 bucks a letter, so it's probably not worth it xd Sorry, I'm nervous, and when I do that I joke. Thankyou.

Talon -
Whatever your viewpoints on abortion and feminism, how does it give you or anyone the right to argue that we cannot believe something based on our beliefs because of what your beliefs are? You say abortion is a womans right...we feel it isnt including in womens rights for many reasons, and many of us feel it is actually an affront to womens rights. Yet, you and the pro-choicers say we cannot be feminists because we dont support abortion. You are judging our belief system, based on our beliefs, by your beliefs.
If this is justified, are we allowed to say you are hypocrits for being against unjust killing in any way because we feel you support unjust killing by supporting abortion?
We dont judge your other beliefs by your belief in abortion - we have enough prescence of mind to understand your other beliefs are consistant with your stance on abortion. Why is it that you cannot understand that our beliefs are also consistant based on our stance on abortion?

I just re-read some things in the pro-choice guild. I propose to keep up with them, we start calling people anti-life and making fun of their views, and when they protest we call them sluts (because the same way that only ugly people who can't get laid would be prolife, only sluts would be prochoice. Obviously.) and decide who to push down stairs or kill in some other pleasant way. I usually don't try stereotyping people just because they don't agree with me, but it seems to work for people who are pro-choice. Oh, I mean, anti-life. Or pro-babykilling. It's like pro-punishment, except not as sexy. Unless there's a babykilling equivilant to, "You've been naughty, now I'm going to punish you," in a sexy voice. I'd like to hear that one. Next we can progress to hate threads against specific people, where we take peoples' words out of context because we're oh so mature like that. To top it all off, why don't we make fun of Pagans? We've already got the Pagan month thread, perfect resource for bashing material. Then Beware can start a thread saying how she's sick of us bashing on pagans and we can say, "We aren't, well, we are, but hahaha they deserve it for being pagans." We can then say, "They must now believe everything we do as absolutely right, and if they don't, they lose the debate because our morality trumps theirs since we're more enlightened and care more about people. They're so backwards and controlling!"
Then the two guilds would be equal. Just a suggestion....

There's a very easy way to end the argument, Talon. Explain why pro-life is about the subjugation of women and why everyone in here besides you is the equivilant of a racist, and explain why we can't be feminist and pro-life. Everyone is asking the same thing. Why is it that we can't be pro-life and feminist because we don't agree with you when it comes to what women should be able to do? Would you say it's anti-woman to oppose a woman beating her children? Of course not. So when you know that to us, a fetus is a child, why would you think it would be anti-woman for us to maintain that a woman shouldn't have the right to kill her child? Is it more pro-woman to condone parents aborting their children for being female instead of male? Is it more pro-woman to say, "Kill your unborn daughters, because you don't think they're people even though we think they are?"

Wow.
Just... wow.
My respect for you, BTJ, has gone up 487543%. I literally whooped and cheered when I read this. Dead serious, girlfriend.
Beautiful, amazing and powerful...
Matches this guild, as well as it's (pro-life) members, perfectly.
I will never see you the same way again, doll.

Broorel I've learned that as well. Also if it DOESNT have a prolife bias(which I try so hard to accomplish) then the study is A)too small B)too large C)too old D) too recent E)The only study of it's kind F)Been overly documented do to bandwagoning G)(and my favorite) Is just wrong because they say so! And on and on and on Yet when I mention that a publication from the National Abortion Federation may possibly have bias I am put on a certain someones "ignore list" neth...? God i hate her... but, i'm not in much of a position to do anything because guess what- ignored list as well. any excuse she can come up with.

Oy! No name calling, children!
The rules of the guild clearly state that you are not allowed to personally attack any specific person or any other guild.
We have rules like that, because we are a civilized guild.
