"We appreciate that you have come in peace...'?? What the hell happened to a simple 'thank you'??" Valhalla grumbled under his breath to his companions as he slowly lowered the bag of gifts he was responsible for carrying to the pile with the others. He had a horrible feeling in his gut that this may hurt them more than help them, but if they didn't do anything then how would they ever know? It wasn't exactly a warm welcome to be pointed towards the officers, either.
"Is that supposed to imply that they'd rather shoot us than arrest us? What the ******** happened to 'innocent until proven guilty'?? Why do they even need guns like that?? I've never heard of the police shooting at Senshi or whatever else is out there. Is that really necessary at a charity event?? I mean, what if they did have to shoot? There are innocent people here! How desperate do you think they'd be to try and kill us if it means risking friendly fire? What the hell is this world coming to?? I swear to God I'd move out of this city if I could," he continued to mutter bitterly under his breath, although at this point he was leaning more towards Ganymede since he really didn't know Polaris and Niflhel very well. Maia was a different story, though. But she didn't need to hear him pitching a very subdued fit.
Despite his wariness towards the whole situation they'd placed themselves in, Polaris seemed to have a handle on what was going on... or she had at least started off strong.
Her comment about leaving quietly seemed too much of a contrast to her almost overly exaggerated entrance of getting everyone's attention. Wanting to obviously stand out and then slip back into being invisible wasn't going to be easy. But he hadn't volunteered under the assumption that it was going to be. What he had been expecting though, was for those who were much more experienced that he was would know how crowds of civilians would react. He was following their lead with the hopes that they knew what the hell they were doing.
"We aren't the ones the citizens of Destiny City need to worry about," Valhalla said, finally speaking up enough to be heard by those who cared to listen. He wasn't frowning, but he wasn't smiling, clearly uncomfortable about the unclear implication of using deadly force against them. "We want peace. It's those corrupted by Chaos who are using monsters to attack and drain civilians of their energy. Believe us or not. We are the ones who want to protect this planet, as well as all life on it..." he wanted to include 'Chaos or not' but he didn't want to speak for the others any more than he already had.
He wanted to protect everyone, but he knew those in the BMC had a track record for violence towards the Negaverse... as well as other individuals who didn't think those corrupted by Chaos were worth saving...
Regardless, he lifted his hands in the air to indicate the intention of a peaceful retreat... Even if they weren't the ones with the deadly weapons.

Niflhel smiled towards Tony as he started coming towards them only to be stopped. His eyes shifted slowly over to the officers before freezing when Valhalla spoke up.
"Valhalla." He hissed lowly, "I'm not sure you want to say that, there is no tellings who is in that crowd." His eyes were scanning over civilians and officers a like. "Those under the influence of Chaos think they're the good guys." He added lowly before finally quieting and looking towards Tony once again.
"That's what we're here to do. Support the drive and those in need." He addressed the librarian before glancing around, had everyone dropped their things yet? Could they leave? This less than hospitable welcome was starting to worry him.

Lily had slipped away from Alex just in time, an quick suggestion for drinks and she was off heading toward the drink table, but then ducking and finding a spot to power up before going to join the others. To say she was cutting it close was the understatement of the century, but she had stop momentarily to give a silent cheer when she heard Alex's name called.
Maia made it in time to see Vahalla joining the other's and quickly grabbed her own donation bag and followed behind him. She came over and set her bag with the other's giving Polaris a slightly apologetic look. She probably should have slipped away a little sooner.
She smiled out at the crowd, but decided to stay quiet not really knowing what to say. She wanted to say a lot, but she also did not want to be away from Alex for too long. She looked to the other's to see what would happen next, she didn't really want to be ther any longer than necessary, especially not with guns pointed at them, camera's flashing and was sure she saw a phone or two recording.
"I think we should bid them goodnight," she whispered lightly.
*Editted sorry about that, been really spacey this week, sorry!*

Enough. Micah looked around her in silent shock. Enough was enough. Enough feeling sorry for herself, enough pouting because she hadn't made the effort to get to know anyone. Enough being a child because she was too afraid to grow up. Micah set her mouth into a thin line and stepped forward, watching the shocked faces before you.
"Oh, what's the matter with all of you," she questioned harshly, people around her turning to watch. "They took time out of busy days -- because they -are- busy -- to not only gather donations for this event but to bring them over in person. They didn't ahve to do any of that." She puffed out her chest and began her applause, grinning like a mad woman. "I say bravo! Bravo!" Her applause started a smattering around her. Would anyone else clap? It only took one to start an example, after all. Maybe more people would applaude the obvious attempt to show goodness.

Quinn shot a glare at Micah when she started boasting about the White Moon Senshi, bursting into applause and grinning like crazy.
What the ******** was ridiculous how badly she wanted to power up and yell at not only the girl she considered a friend as Leto, but also to punch those stupid Senshi and Knights in the face- every last one of them. Finally her hand unclasped from around her henshin pen and her arms crossed tightly over her chest.
Quinn was not a happy camper.
"Get lost!" She called out over Micah's incessant clapping, at the Order people.

Micah's sudden joy with the applause was squashed by Quinn. She and the people around her stopped and looked at the brunette, obvious betrayal clear in Micah's golden eyes. But... they were her people. It wasn't as though she could just tell Quinn that, but it didn't stop the hurt from going right to her heart when Quinn said that.
She looked down at her feet and took a deep breath, trying to regain her shaken and delicate composure.
"No. They have as much right to give and to be applauded as we do." A murmur spread over the crowd around Micah, lifting her confidence. "Did they not do just as we did? And because of unavoidable calatteral we will disregard thier gifts as invalid?" Yes, Micah knew too well how hard it was not to destroy things around her, especially as a new senshi.
"When we break things, we expect forgiveness. We try and atone for our deeds. It's the same thing that's going on here." Micah fiddled with the ribbon on her chest, suddenly feeling as though... maybe it belonged elsewhere.
Carefully she unpinned it from her top and strode over to Polaris, who seemed to have taken on a leadership role in the group. "I think you all deserve this more than I do. I'm osrry I don't have enough for everyone." She grinned and blushed a little at her oversight.

[OOC: PLEASE NOTE THAT PRINCESS POLARIS HAS BROUGHT THE ORDER PEOPLE TO THE GALA FAR AWAY FROM THE STAGE, BEHIND THE CHAIRS ON THE GREEN OF THE PARK. Please reread her post, and edit accordingly, unless you would really like your character to be on the stage and in proximity to the mayor. Please be advised that this may be taken as a threat by a police force that cannot distinguish agents of chaos from soldiers for order. Please remember that ALL powered characters are viewed as ARMED AND DANGEROUS TERRORISTS by the general populous of Destiny City.
The only people that should be on the stage automatically are NPCs, as players should have gotten their award and then returned to the audience.
You have 24 hours to edit your posts if you do not want NPCs to respond accordingly.
The next NPC post will be made on Friday night. ]

Kyndall beamed with pride as Tony was called onto stage, hoping her donation had helped him somewhat in this endeavor. She was content to be in the background for this one, watching his awkwardly gracious way of receiving his due. When he came off stage she smiled and hugged him, whispering that she was proud he'd made a difference.
That's when the senshi arrived. She didn't need to be in costume to recognize that among them were some of the senshi that were high up on the ladder. She didn't have to feign surprise or worry knowing that bad things generally happened when powered people came out into the open even in the best of circumstances. She glanced at Alex and Lily, wondering what they thought and immediately worried for them both. So far as she knew they were just teens.
"You guys may want to step back." Following Lily's suggestion she encouraged them. "Yes, go get a drink or a snack or something."
She was vaguely aware of Tony drifting from her side knowing where he was likely going and fully intending on moving there herself when she could make sure the kids in front of her were safe and wouldn't see her. She did move after Tony then, knowing not one among the crowd knew who she was in or out of costume. She took his hand, listening to his thanks, and nodded her agreement.
She gave a look to the security that she hoped would chastise them. "There's no need for that." she chided like she would a child. "They haven't done anything but try to help. What happened to innocent until proven guilty?"
To the assembled senshi she smiled, looking over her secret assembled brethren with an appraising eye. The rainbow senshi was rather beautiful and she'd have to ask Tony about all of them later, if he knew any of them. She knew they were on the right side and wasn't as nervous as the general public, anyway.
"Thank you. This is a wonderful gesture. It's nice to know that you keep your eyes open to the city and that you care."
She kept her inflection and tone specific to indicate that she knew they were right and approved of them in a way that was not merely an admiring citizen. Not many would pick up on it, she was sure, but maybe a few. Maybe... In either case she was content with it.

((She's actually just in her eternal form, sorry if I confused people by mentioning her thinking about her princess form in the last post! Doh!))
People were approaching them, and Polaris' gaze was very weary. Not necessarily at the few that approached, they all seemed quite harmless and exceptionally kind. No, her eyes were on the men with guns, watching for the slightest sign that they were getting nervous or firing.
The absolute last thing the senshi and knights needed was a misunderstanding along the lines of them taking hostages. Or for some civilians to get shot by accident.
"Thank you" She responded with genuine appreciation as the older gentlemen (Tony) reached for her hand, keeping her shake polite but brief before lifting her hands carefully back up.
The girl with curly hair received another look of appreciation. Was she a senshi too maybe? Or maybe just someone who had been saved at some point. Either way her heart swelled as she heard her argue and fuss in their stead. It was enough to keep her from frowning at any of the worried or upset words coming from the powered group.
As the ribbon was offered to her she smiled and shook her head. "Oh I couldn't take it. Dozens of knights and senshi worked together to collect all this. You must have collected so much just on your own to earn that. Your words have been a wonderful reward for all of us."
A soft nod and smile was offered to the woman (Kyndall) as well before she glanced back to all the others. All the bags were delivered and she was just as anxious as everyone else to get the heck out of there.
"We're leaving now." Her hands were still lifted, and she took a small step backwards.
"Happy new year to you all. We hope these small gifts will be of some help to those who need them. If you ever find yourself in need or in danger know us knights and senshi will do our best to try and help."
"We are the ones who want to protect this planet and all the people who live here" She echo'd Valhalla's words before taking another step back, beginning her retreat.
Her retreat was far more clumsy then her arrival, trying to make sure that she wasn't about to get a bullet to the back nor that any of others got left behind. Only when they all seemed far enough away for safety would she retreat faster with Niflhel, taking care to make their journey long and winding, just on the off chance that someone tried to follow and track them.

Niflhel didn't have anything to say, while he didn't mind speaking to the public Polaris basically took the words from his mouth soo there was really nothing TO say. He stood there watching everyone nodding a few greetings and smiled.
When Polaris basically signaled to leave he nodded waiting for the others and her to start moving before walking backwards himself tipping his hat slowly. "Happy New Year to all." He said with a smile.
When they were clearly safe enough away he followed her keeping pace the best he could, almost offering to take to the rooftops when they reached the city.

Ariel wanted to followed the clapping a girl started but she was following Tony as he went towards the senshi, she knew he had connexion with some of them but she was more scared about the civilians reaction. But at least when the senshi left the park she started clapping even if she was alone, they were under the pressure of people who didn't understand them, just wanted to help, just for this she kept her henshi pen in her pocket and start clapping to say thank you for their courage

“Easy…” Ganymede placed a warning hand on Val’s arm, ready to hold him back if necessary, though he figured the page wouldn’t say or do anything too stupid. “Come on. We’re done here. We don’t need to stay.”
He started taking a few steps back, more than happy to follow Polaris and Niflhel’s lead and get out of there. It hadn’t been an extended visit, but then he didn’t think that would have been appreciated. In any case, it had been more than long enough for him. Crowds were fine under normal circumstances, but like this… he was still eyeing the officers with guns, and though he had to agree with all of Val’s mutterings, he didn’t want to do anything to give them a chance or a reason to use them.
“Enjoy the donations,” he said to the crowd. He wasn’t quite sure what other sentiments were left to voice. “A lot of hard work went into collecting them, and not just by the five of us. So… you don’t have to like us, and you don’t have to trust us, but at least make sure the people who need this stuff actually get to use it. I can’t imagine the people who’re really in need are going to care where it came from, so long as they have what they need to live.”
He glanced around a little longer, taking a few more anxious steps back. Momentarily turning his attention to Val—though making sure he still paid attention to what the officers were doing, in case a quicker getaway was necessary—Ganymede motioned away with a quick jerk of his head. “I don’t exactly like the idea of sticking around, so I’m ready to go when you are.”
He still had his hand on Val’s arm and did his best to drag him off, ready to hit the rooftops and go home.
The sooner they were out of sight, the better.

Valhalla clicked his tongue in frustration at the sudden civilian debate on whether to welcome them or to shoo them out. Tony was among those who were for them, but that would only put him in harms way if the officers did decide to use deadly force.
He ignored Niflhel's comment, even though he would really like to point out that he was telling the truth and not spewing out slander. If the Negaverse or DMC senshi took offense to him then maybe they shouldn't go around making them out to be terrorists. It was a war between 'Order' and 'Chaos'. They should leave civilians out of it.
"Yeah yeah, we're leaving," he grumbled under his breath once more, allowing Ganymede to start to usher him away from the drop off spot. Since Polaris had been the one to announce their arrival, he figured it wasn't surprising that she would lead the retreat. But instead of keeping an eye on the riffles, he turned his back to the officers as if to dare them to be so cowardly as to shoot an unarmed man who was posing no threat. If the Senshi and the Negaverse and all this other nonsense was considered such a huge threat, then why not just quarantine the city, or have everyone evacuate?
But he kept his thoughts to himself, shaking his head at how ungrateful people could be. He made sure that Ganymede was at his side, and glancing over to make sure Maia was on her way out as well, before deliberately leaving the park.

Alexandre, who'd looked at Kyndall wondering what she'd do if he told her he was quire fine and didn't need to back up or away; that he could easily handle himself. But he didn't say such words to her, or tell her just why it was that he could handle himself quite nicely - thank you very much. He didn't care to risk hurting her that much, or give himself away in such a public manner. No, he was good at hiding his secret by now loathe as he was to hide it from his own parents.
While she and Tony left, presumably to leave the park as some other people were doing, he headed closer to where the senshi and knights had gathered. And it seemed he was wrong, as he spotted both Tony and Kyndall. Pushing that from his mind his eyes swept the crowd of gathered people before landing on someone familiar to him, Quinn.
While he wanted to go see her, see what she made of this, he didn't go to her side. Rather he stayed just behind and to the side of an older man. His eyes on the senshi and knights as he watched them making their retreat. "Good, don't need them remaining here and causing trouble." It would not be good if a cop got nervous and fired a shot on accident, or it actually came to such a thing as shooting. People would be in a panic and get hurt, and he wasn't particularly interested in being shot at nor being shot. He'd already fallen through a glass window, bullets he was not immune to and didn't want to try his luck against one. He knew he could teleport, if he powered up in the madness a shooting would cause, but he didn't for a moment think he could out move a bullet, no chance especially since it would likely be a surprise and unseen by him.
"Let's hope this remains peaceful..." He whispered more for his own comfort than anything else. He didn't trust the cops nor those who'd come with the food donations. But right now he trusted the cops less, human nerves and such could lead to all manner of chaos right now. Those of the White Moon wouldn't likely risk ruining the people opinions on them which they were trying to sway to their side.

Maia watched the other's retreat and backed away herself, nodding to Valhalla as he made his retreat. "Goodnight everyone, she said in her sing songy voice with a bright smile, "I hope that you all enjoy the rest of your evening, you all deserve it working so hard to for the sake of others. I hope one day you can see we try to do the very same for you."
She turned and ran off needing to get far away to power down, while also knowing she could not go to far, she did have to actually return to the party else wise other's would be suspicious.
It would be hard enough to not grin like an idiot feeling good for what they had done even if it had made the party goers a bit one edge.
