Lucas heard Mya's message and immediately called her back over the headset. And did he accidentally hit the button to include Julien in the conversation too? Mya and Julien's Headsets "The only hunter I know that squeals like a little girl is that boy you're babysitting." Because of the threat he was distracted as he drive the dagger in, and te realization hit that nothing activated. Damn. Failktqueen I'll be fleeing for an hour+...have some drama!

She simply eyerolled at Lucas's response, content for now to know that he was at least still alive and kicking. The reply was predictable, and she had pretty much set that one up for him. He was severely lacking in originality, that one.
As she mechanically rose her dagger one last time, she caught the look on Julien's face out of the corner of her eye. Really Julien, really? Again? Had her boyfriend always been so jealous of her interactions with other men? What the hell did he think happened when she went away on missions without him!?
"I met him a long time ago, Julien. We had a spread of missions together, and we pretty much ragged on each other constantly from the get go. And yes, I have mentioned him before, but like I just said, it was a long time ago. Maybe your memory is starting to get bad in your old age." She teased, "You really have no need to worry." She plunged the dagger into the ground now, the barrier sparking to life. A smile flickered to her lips as she turned towards him, and reached out to put a hand on his face, trying to ignore the sounds around her of the crowd, and of the horseman. "I love you, Julien Bond, and nobody else. If you were to die, I would cry, and I would not find somebody to replace you. Nobody could ever replace you." It was the sincere truth, and she hoped he knew that.

Their relationship had never been tested. Julien wasn't the type of guy to stray in the least bit after committing to someone. He had never even batted an eye at another lady, though Robert had often commented on rear ends and chests often enough. The pale man grunted at Mya's swipe at his old age. He wasn't old! He was only 27!!! He was tired of all of this. He just wanted Mya to stop talking about other people, at least in the sense of knowing their names and making sure they were personally alright. Lucas of all of them. He slammed the dagger in place for what seemed the tenth time and it stuck. For what was at least the third time in all of this. He didn't like this at all. They were slowly loosing in this battle, and there was something circling them. Was it going to pick them off one by one? That was a sick thought.
It wasn't until Robert spoke up that the pale hunter realized he was mad again. Practically seething with anger. This was a lot to deal with all in one go. World ending, people dying, and Mya... and whatever the hell his name was because Julien wasn't going to even say his name in his head anymore.
No, don't think I will.
He was tired of all the bullshit. What was going on with Mya? What was going on here? Did any of it matter anyways?! He was going to die. The lean, perfectly fit, dramatic 27 year old was going to die horribly. And he was going to do it while feeling like s**t too.
"Yes well, don't cry on his goddamned shoulder please. I love you too, but I've never for the life of me blushed at another woman, batted an eye at her, apologized to you for it, then made sure she was doing alright. You don't see me hitting on Remy and asking her how she is do you?"
Actually that was a really good question, how was Remy doing? Why was he thinking of her now?!? Probably because he didn't know any other women. Not really. The pale man looked up and around at the other females... actually, ******** it. If he was going to die, he'd even make an offer to a man. Not Lucas though.
"Anyone around here feel like a good ******** kiss before kicking the damned bucket? I feel like being adventurous, so I won't even care what gender! Once in a damned life time offer folks!"

Billie had to focus. She turned to face the unruly horsemen but stayed to the task at hand. She twirled a dagger as she watched the others plant theirs and when slammed hers down the barrier sprung to life again.

Mya stared at him. She stared, she stared, and she stared some more. Then she drew back her hand, and slapped him across the face harder then she'd ever slapped him, or anyone for that matter. She then pushed herself from the ground and began to walk away from him. It felt good to slap him. Too damn good. She had to get away from him before she did it again. ramenli This one's for you, Lucas~

Lucas located and stormed over to Julien and laid one on him exactly as he'd done to Mya. "There," he said pulling away "now you know what it's like to kiss a real man. Get over it."

Suddenly his world was ringing. Mya had slapped him, and frankly she hadn't slapped him like this in a very long time. It hurt damnit, and the pale man lifted a hand to his cheek before glaring at Mya's retreating backside. She was... she was....
Yes well, shoulda, coulda, woulda, right?
And then something very unthinkable happened. Julien had only half meant his offer to damn well kiss someone else. Only half, and mostly because he was hurting so bad with everything Mya was doing. And then the person his anger was centered on (really not Mya) came storming over to Julien. He managed to lift one finger and get half a syllable out in protest before Lucas suddenly planted on right on his own pale lips.
His world was changed. There was no other way he could honestly put it. These lips were so different from Mya's, from a woman's, that it was... it was.... Julien found himself doing the unthinkable. He was kissing back. He damned well just went with it and kissed this stupid man back. The lips were rougher than a woman's, and there was something powerful behind it all. He kissed Lucas back like it was the last kiss of his life... which it probably was.
And Julien damn well liked it. He really ******** liked it. He let go, and just stared at Lucas with a blush that took over his pale face. Kissing a man was not like kissing a woman. Not in the least bit. It made his stomach flip, twist and do jumping jacks. He felt... so weird. So very weird indeed.
"I...I...," Julien just yammered it a few times, trying to wrap his mind around this idea forming in the back of his head. He liked kissing Lucas. It was rough and primal... so very different from kissing Mya which was soft and sweet. What was going on?!?!
I do believe I am at a loss for words here Robert.
"Well ******** me."

Choices, choices choices. Their panic was delicious, the little insects trying to control their inherent feelings. Fear was inherent. Humans existed to feed her, to bathe her clan and brethren and make her stronger. Yet even more delicious than the thousands of tinytinytiny insects that crawled were the ones that fought back. Oh, they stung, but it was so delicate, so fragile-
- It only made her hungrier.
She saw a particularly large one - not in size but in their doubts, their insecurity - they were perfect for the picking. This time, she hid in their shadow, claws outstretching from the dark abyss to pull her food into her wide open mouth, long jagged teeth waiting. It took a second longer to pull all of their struggling body into her jaws. Thoughtfully, she chewed before swallowing, bones and sinew and skin and organs turning into a simple mulch as she chewed and chewed and chewed. A few pieces fell out, maybe a finger, maybe a foot, it was so hard to tell, the insects were just so tiny.
And then, politely, she retreated back into the fog, the mist, the shadows, the darkness to clean herself up just a little bit. This entire stage was her domain now. iloveyouDIE - Billie is DEAD. She has been devoured (partially) by the Horsemen of Famine. Feel free to post her reaction post as this happened, anything she would have yelled into the mic, her attempts to fight/ struggle/ etc etc in one post. Make this her last hurrah before moving on to her death solo Everybody Else - You have just witness one of your fellow Hunter's death (again, for many), and seen her body, her head, devoured by the Horsemen of Famine before being dropped right next to you. Feel free to post reactions accordingly, however, casualties are to be expected, the barrier daggers must still be put in place. (ie: continue with post one as ... normal as they can) - There is a loud static noise through the headset - the headsets are not working any more.

(Rolling)) She couldn't believe it. She absolutely could not believe it. Her world was ending. The world was actually freaking ending, tonight. And all Julien could think about, were innocent words that she had said to another man, a person that she considered to be a friend. And then, she heard noises behind her, turned, and saw the unthinkable happening right before her eyes. Lucas was kissing Julien. And Julien...was kissing him back? And appeared to be enjoying it, to boot. She wasn't sure whether to feel horrified or smug. He got what he wanted, and he had pushed her away in the process. He had professed his love for her very loudly in front of a large crowd of hunters, and she had believed it all to be true. And all this time, he was ******** batting for the other team. She shook her head to herself. This was all so god damned ridiculous she couldn't even come up with the emotion to react to it anymore. She was empty, a hollow void with nothing left to fill it up. He had gone after her, repeatedly, trying to get her to date him until she finally and grudgingly relented. She had been his all this time, and had intended to be his for all of eternity. And now he was kissing another bloody man. The other man that she had kissed earlier, the two of them, in the rain, all wet and mostly shirtless..... It was actually kind of hot. Flipping a dagger up into her hands, she threw it to the ground, barely noticing when the barrier didn't light. Then, very deliberately, she stalked back forward towards the new happy couple, her eyes narrowed and on Julien. "There, you see, that's exactly how if felt for me...oh and look! I do believe you are blushing, darling! Did you enjoy that? I know I did." She smirked up at him, noticing with some satisfaction that her handprint was still imprinted on his cheek in a stark red that stood out very nicely on his pale face. She was about to round on Lucas next, she had a line already in her head to use on him, when a noise made her turn. Oh s**t....it was the horseman, and she had found herself another victim. Mya's eyes widened as she couldn't help but watch the scene unfolding in front of her. It was more gruesome then the first had been, and she began to shake, as she backed up, and grabbed ahold of first one of Juliens hands, then one of Lucas's, gripping them both tight. "I...I don't want to die like that." She almost whimpered, her inner strength draining away as quickly as the color drained away on her face. FAILktqueen .....I can't believe you two right now XD ramenli actually no, I'm used to it from you.

Billie thought she was being vigilant. She thought she had her angles covered. That was until she felt claws on her and Billie gasped aloud. There was pain, definite pain with the first bite.
"WARD..!" She reached out to him, struggling against the monster's hold but it was too strong. Her extended hand wore the ring, their exchanged Christmas gifts and it was the last thing that caught her eye before she saw nothing else in this world.
As her body turned to mulch her FEAR weapon clattered to the ground, it's green runes glowing dimmed.. dimmed.. flickered.. and went out.

He had gotten his dagger in, but the barrier was still collapsing - they weren't fast enough, nor strong enough.
Warden could hear the sizzle of hot blood against the cold rain as he worked, smell the thick coppery tang of the metallic liquid. He pushed his dagger into the ground, but it was torn out almost immediately - not from lack of trying, but from the fact that his free hand, the one that had been firmly latched onto Billie's, had suddenly been jerked violently to the side.
No.
He heard her, even as he was turning his head - the sharp intake of breath, the sudden movement out of the corner of his eye...and then...
"WARD!"
He couldn't breathe. Her fingers slipped from his grasp.
Blood spattered the ground, his fingers.
No.
No, it's not true.
Everything was turning to black right before Warden's eyes. His mind seemed to not want to comprehend was happening, even as he lifted his gaze, locking with Billie's hysterical, panic-stricken one. A thick desperation welled in Warden's body, slid through his veins, rising until all he could hear was the thudding of his own heart and the fast rhythm of his own breathing.
And Billie.
Tee made a horrible keening noise in his head. Something snapped - a loud static sound filled his headset, but it was like the world was blocked out.
"No," he said - the barest hint of a whisper that became a scream.
"NO! BILLIE! NO!"
Something clattered to the ground. The long staff, drenched and glistening with blood and rain, slowly dulled into the glow was no longer visible, dying out before his eyes. The monster chewed slowly, then disappeared again, back into the shadows it had come from.
A few bits landed here and there.
Something clinked on the ground, rolled towards him. Warden felt his legs give away, landing on the damp pavement as his fingers blindly felt for the tiny object, his eyes still fixated on the spot where she had been, only moments before.
His fingers closed around the ring - all that was left.
There was nothing left.
Billie McNamara was gone and with her had taken the only thing that had ever been important in Warden Victors' life.

"Riiight. Such a lovely rain, too, isn't it?" Lex muttered a few not so nice things about what he currently thought of the rain.
And then once again the barrier failed. He scowled at the damn daggers and then scowled at nothing in particular since he currently couldn't see the horsewomen killing them off one by one. Focus, Lex. Gotta get this barrier up!
"Pah-lease!" He called over to Cody, working with his own blade to try this all again. "Like the Sun division could put up with you." Though Lex mildly agreed. Hack and slash sounded a lot more productive right now. And an appealing style of fighting at the moment. Instead of getting rained on while fumbling with barrier daggers.
::Watch yourself, Lexington.:: The hellhound whispered. Was that...not 'fear' but, something?

"I'd like it more if it wasn't freezing rain." He muttered.
Cody could hear the commotion. He could hear the shouts as another of the hunters was picked off, but thankfully this time he hadn't seen it. Nor did he bother to look.
"Heh heh... I guess so." True. He couldn't imagine many being able to put up with him and his annoying personality and yet the mist division did exactly that. "Though in all honesty, I'd seriously rather by fighting right now instead of trying to set up an impossible barrier." He slammed the dagger into ground, frustrated when it uselessly fell over once more. "We're sitting ducks."

Naibi flinched when another was taken, the screams and sudden static. She pulled down her headphones looking towards the others. This wasn't good. If they could get the barrier up...
She grabbed another dagger, the barrier kept falling, she frowned as she attempted to set it up. Don't pay attention to the death, don't pay attention to the wicked witch of death.
Things were starting to get chaotic.
