Valentine
Even though Valentine was quicker than her male pursuer, he was still on her tail.

-----

Inigo
A large winter Sawsbuck and a Chimecho materialized from the stolen pokeballs, both pokemon looking very surprised that the man facing them was not their mountain of a trainer. The Sawsbuck snorted in irritation and scratched the ground with a hoof. The Chimecho just looked confused.

-----

Tambrey
The coordinator wasn't ready for a game of chicken, or the gust of wind that came with it, and lost her grip on her pokemon, falling the survivable distance to the ground. That left only the Drifblim up in the air; It was blown back a bit, but otherwise fine. In retaliation the Drifblim floated quickly towards the pair, stopping suddenly to make a scary face and a loud "BLIM!" in an astonish attack.

-----

Shawn
"Hey there! You're the first one back." Nyx appeared behind Shawn suddenly and gave him a friendly slap on the back. "Whatcha bring me?"

-----

Jerome
The girl, rather unsurprisingly, screamed. "W-what!? Ah-ah- D-don't hurt me!"
The jolteon was about to thundershock it's trainer's attacker when the Gengar hit it. The electric pokemon fell with the force of the attack, but released its charged attack at Bro.

-----

Alba
"Ah... alright... bye..." The girl, still rather confused, waved and walked off down the road.

Though he'd tried to tell himself to remain alert, the grunt's mind had obviously been elsewhere when Nyx appeared right behind him. His brows shot up and he started at her voice, flinching slightly at the friendly slap on the back before taking a second to register who it was.

Whirling around to face her, Grunt Shadow's arms fell flat to his sides and his back stiffened as he bowed. "Elite Agent Nyx, ma'm," he acknowledged without looking up. The teen made sure to keep his sepia eyes trained on the ground below, even as he held out his stolen prize. The pink pokeball rested in his palm.

Shawn knew better than to take the elite's comment about being the first one back as a compliment. As he reminded himself, his triumph had mostly been achieved by sheer luck. And at what cost? The grunt seemed distracted a moment before reporting his results and straightening back up with a serious expression.

"A Togepi by the nickname of Deedee, ma'm. Her previous owner had been a young girl of perhaps around 9 or 10, so procuring it was not so much of an issue. I regret that I could not have retrieved a more impressive pokemon, but due to a lack of my own, I had to compromise." He dropped his gaze once more to the ground, not wanting to seem out of line.

Besides not bringing back 'a more impressive pokemon', Shadow regretted making the little girl cry, but there was no way he was going to voice that to a superior. It was just something he was going to have to get used to. Perhaps that was one part of what this training was all about - hardening their hearts as criminals for the greater good of Team Rocket. As for going out into the field without a pokemon...would he be punished for his recklessness? Maybe. Still, it was better to explain the truth than attempt to cover it up with a lie.

He would have been out helping the other recruits by now, but considering the sort of task they each had been sent out here to complete, he guessed that help from fellow Rockets would have probably defeated the purpose. Besides, there wasn't much he felt he could do without a pokemon to bring to their aid.

When she screamed, Jerome was quick to tighten his arm around her neck, to cut off her air supply to her lungs and silence her, he knew this was always a great way to cause her greater fear and discomfort.

Jerome let Bro do his thing, his pokemon could handle the Jolteon until Jerome could get the pokemon back in its pokeball.
And just in case she had other pokemon, Jerome reached down to grab one of her wrists with his free hand.

He lowered his head by hers, finally speaking into her ear, as his low voice took on a soft growl.
"Gettin' hurts ganna be the least of yer problems if you don't shut the <********> up."

He didn't want to do this, he held no grudge against this girl, or her pokemon, he had no intentions of actually hurting her, or fighting her.
But, with what he was here to do, he knew she wasn't just going to give up something as precious as her pokemon without him having to do something violent.

Bro clenched his teeth tightly, and was tossed back with the attack, twitching and clenching his body as the course of the electricity ran through him.
Bro didn't look amused with the attack, drooping his eyelids, and turning his teeth down into a frown, he gave the Jolteon a hard stare that had "******** you" etched all over it, before hawking up a mouthful of Toxic at the electric type.

Jerome loosened his hold on her neck a little, to let her breath, but kept his arm around her neck tight.
"Don't ********' move." He growled at her, still holding one of her wrists in his hands, he reached down to her belt to see if that's where she kept her pokeballs. "And you!" He snapped at the Jolteon. "F'ya don't want yer trainer's neck snapped you better stop movin'"

Alright, not so bad.
They weren't too high and that was a good thing, but hopefully the fall was still somewhat disorientating... She looked down to see where the trainer had landed.
That seemed to have- Gah! What the frak was it doing?! Oh. Astonish.
Great, Tambrey noted that the attack was, at least, pretty effective on -her-, luckily, despite a bit of a jolting, Pygi didn't seem to have flinched too much. The grunt imagined that she probably wasn't very fond of the suddenly tightened grip Tambrey had taken at the ghost types attack though and loosened her hold a little.
The other trainer was on the ground... therefore, so would the balloon's pokeball be.
"Plan.. plan," She muttered, realising that this was probably the best chance of obtaining the other ball, and that it wouldn't last long. "Pygi, use Gust again on this balloon, then swoop down toward the trainer when I say..."
Treestar was not a Chikorita that knew vine whip- that would have been so useful... This meant she was left with...
"Neph!" Why. Why did the pokemon she -needed- for this plan have to be -this- pokemon. The spider came out of her ball, perched on Tambrey's shoulder and so the grunt's first command had to be "Don't bite me!"
Thankfully, perhaps due to being so far from the ground, the spider obeyed, though temptation gleamed in her eye and it looked as though she might have been about to.
"I -need- you to, when Pygi swoops to string shot the pokeball of this balloon, okay?" It didn't occur to her, apparently, that Neph -didn't know- which pokeball belonged to the Driflblim. It did occur to her that Neph might ignore her entirely.
However, Neph didn't.

How /dare/ other pokemon be allowed to remain suffering under just one human? /She'd/ been taken from the wild -and then- /stolen/; she'd had to put up with a few humans now, or two, whatever the number didn't matter. She -would- grab that pokeball and create herself a companion in misery- an ally, perhaps.
With a chitter of derision she turned to look down at where she was supposed to be aiming. Oh, she'd try to grab /a/ pokeball all right, the spider decided, but she wasn't aiming for a specific one anyway, nor was this something she was doing because Human-Face told her to.

Tambrey had no idea what the chittering noise meant.
"...Okay, good. Thank you." She told the spider anyway, hoping for the best.
"Pygi! Swoop!"

Alba walked on casually for a ways. When he was clear of the woman, though, he hurried to crouch behind a tree and some foliage. "Alright, you two. Let's keep it quiet," he said, keeping quiet himself as he unclasped two Pokeballs. A second later, Spook the Chingling and Twitch the Pidgey stood in front of him. Both seemed momentarily confused by the surroundings and their human's behavior.

Alba smiled awkwardly, but he soon slipped into the role of issuing orders. "I'm going to need some help on this one. Twitch, it's going to be a mix of sand-attack, quickly followed by gust. I'll need you to make visibility as poor as possible- woah, shh, not yet!" Twitch settled down, looking a little embarrassed for nearly jumping the gun. "Spook, you're going to handle follow-up. Target is a young female, and she will be carrying at least one Pokeball. Try to move in unnoticed from behind while Twitch is providing the distraction. Get the Pokeball, plus as many extras as you can if she has them, and get out of there. Understood? Twitch?" Both Pokemon nodded in confirmation. "Extra dessert if this works."

A few minutes later, the trio had tracked down the young woman from before. Alba fell back and out of sight at a safe distance. Spook moved off to the side. Twitch, however, continued to follow behind the woman. Somewhere to the right, a faint bell chimed.

Twitch suddenly kicked into the air and into a gust attack, aimed to send as much loose dirt, dust, leaves, and any other debris at the woman's back as possible.

Valentine started chewing on a thumb nail. Didn't this guy ever give up? Okay....options. Option 1: She kept running and hoped he finally gave up. Option 2: She trust Lavan not to burn all the trees down in hope of a distraction. Option 3: She stop running and fight her pursuer. Option 4: Toss the stolen Pokeball behind her.

....

Well damn....Any of those options could backfire on her. She could get caught, which she was told not to be. She could fail this mission if she threw the Pokebal away. After all, would she actually get another chance to steal another Pokemon? Not with the heat this guy was giving her probably. So what would happen if she failed?

The Rocket would have to chance it. Snatching a Pokeball from her belt, Valentine called out the Tepig. "Lavan! I need smoke. Use Ember!" "Tepig!" Valentine waved her arms. "Not too much though! We do have to get out of here you know."

Lavan huffed. What did his trainer think he was, a pyro? Okay...maybe a little, but he wasn't stupid. Spying a pile of leaves, the pig like Pokemon took a deep breath and let out a stream of small flames before running after his idiot of an owner.

Inigo quickly recalled both pokemon into their pokeballs - especially that Sawsbuck - and sighed. Well, mission accomplished (even if he hadn't had too big a hand in the actual theft), so the teen pocketed the stolen pokeballs, returned Leilani to hers, and left with his pair of Whimsicott to find where the van was parked.

Luckily it didn't take too long to find - aided by Nyx's voice suddenly asking someone else a question - so when he got to the spot Nyx was (and.. what had that kid's name been? Shadow or something? Weird), he pulled the pilfered balls out and waited, since the elite was obviously talking to the fellow grunt. Inigo was nothing if not patient, so he was content to wait.

Shawn
"Lack of... Why don't you have a pokemon?" Nyx had no idea that one of the rockets on the mission had come unarmed, but... he got the job done regardless, so it was probably some of the scribbling she did on her clipboard was to give him points for that.

Jerome
The girl went silent, save for barely stiffled wimpers. She almost yelped when Jerome told her jolteon that he'd snap her neck. "Sparky... stop..." She said in a voice barely above a squeak; The jolteon froze, covered in toxic goo, and growled furiously at the pair. "...Wh-what do you want?"

Tambrey
The trainer was still recovering from the fall when Tambrey's plan was launched into action. She didn't even have time to react before all of the three pokeballs on her belt were ripped off and out of her reach. The drifblim, meanwhile, was still very much a balloon, and was very much blown out of the way by the gust of wind.

Alba
The girl, and raichu, seemed completely surprised by the sudden bouts of sand and debris that were being blown around them. The pokemon's cheeks sparked irritably while the trainer covered her face with her arm and waited for the sand attack to die down. "What the heck?!"

Valentine
By the time the pursuing male reached the pile of leaves the tiny pig had used ember on, they'd turned into quite an impressive little blaze--after all, it hadn't rained for a while, and the cold air had been quite dry. "Woah!" He stopped and looked between the fleeing rocket and the fire... it would be worse for a rampaging forest fire to break out than it would be for one of his friends to lose one of her pokemon...

Inigo
Nyx looked over when another person approached the van and smiled, acknowledging that he was there, and that he had his own prizes.

"I...er, I'm not sure, ma'm," the grunt replied uncertainly, staring down at his sneakers. "I don't recall obtaining one. Ever." He shrugged. "I'm just really used to running. Guess it paid off."

Not that he could remember why. And who else did he owe for his huge loss of memory than the baby Mewtwo down in the labs and the Elite Agent before him who had commanded it?

Considering there were so many trainees and grunts running around the base, especially with the new recruits they were gaining rapidly, it wouldn't have been much of a surprise if, perhaps, Nyx had failed to recognize Grunt Shadow. In truth, it was the very teen she was speaking to who had once attempted to help Lance escape Team Rocket Headquarters. It was also he who she had ordered to have his mind scrambled by the young, psychic legendary who resided in the labs.

Due to this mind-scrambling, much of his memory had been lost, but with it, his fear of pokemon. In a way, he was a better Rocket for it, but his strong sense of morals was still there. His loyalty to Team Rocket was still present due to the fact that he was blissfully ignorant of the inhumane experiments they took part in as well as the fact that they were the only real family he had and there was no where else for him to go. At least, no memory of anywhere else to go. The less he knew of Lance and the other things they did down in the labs, the better. Unfortunately, the one and only pokemon Shawn had been in possession of - the Jolteon named Lindsay - had been given to Lance for safe-keeping just prior to Shawn's capture. It would be a while, if ever, that the electric-type would be returned to Grunt Shadow's possession.

Bowing once more to the elite, Shadow stepped aside and glanced over at Inigo, wondering why the other grunt seemed almost familiar. Nevermind that they had once battled each other's pokemon in a training room, nor that they had once both been assigned to the same Trainee dorm.

Oh, s**t! Where did that Raichu come from?!

Alba kicked himself for assuming that the mouse was still in its Pokeball. Had it been sneaking around earlier, too, or had the girl let it out more recently? And how did his own team miss it? Didn't matter much, now, of course. Whatever the situation, it was obviously out of the ball currently, and he and his team would just have to improvise.

Spook hurried closer, staying close to the ground and out of sight. She studied the girl from that distance while Twitch kept up the distraction, looking for any extra Pokeballs the Chingling could possibly still grab.

"Just keep running. Don't look back. Just keep running. Don't look back," muttered Valentine as she and the Tepig left the scene of the crime. Only after a bit did they slow down to a jog, as if they had just finished a training run. Only then did Valentine dare look behind them briefly to see if they were still being followed.

The Rocket looked down at her Pokemon. "Extra treats for you later today Leven." Smiling at his grunt of approval, Valentine turned them in the direction of where the elite agent would be and started off again. Valentine allowed herself to stop only when she started recognizing where they were. The female took a deep breath and turned around in a circle, hands on her hips. There! "Let's go Leven." Now at a walking pace, the Pokemon and Rocket made their way to the gathering place. Only then did Valentine allow a sigh of relief at seeing the Elite Agent and two others.

Success!
Tambrey couldn't believe it ha- "GEEOH!"
Oh, right. Poor Pygi... She wasn't exactly a comfortable size, nor very experienced with 'Fly'. It was time to land before she crashed.
At least they were already pretty low down.
"Come on back balloon!" Tambrey called, gleefully, hoping it would be close enough to try and recall it- she was sure the Drifblim would be trying to head back. She'd reached and taken the String-Shot covered pokeballs from Neph and, as the spider went back to hers by her own whim, Tambrey was holding up what she hoped was the balloon pokemon's ball. "Gust it toward us if you have to, Lasi!" She really should recall him soon, too. The pink bat had been very focused so far, but that wouldn't last much longer, she suspected.
She made sure to instruct Pygi though, especially after that protest.
"Shoot for the woodland and set us down at the edge of the trees, Pygi. Good job so far!"
Praise was important- it would let the bird know that Tambrey was appreciating the work and, hopefully, get her to put that one last little bit of effort into getting them to the treeline.
Three pokeballs were beyond what she'd been hoping; she'd make her way through the trees and work her way around toward the meeting spot.
If everything went to plan that was. Once Tambrey was on the ground, if recalling the balloon went to plan, she'd have to keep an eye out for a pursuing trainer, she realised, so her route back to where Nyx and the others were would have to be a little convoluted.

Shawn
"Huh... well. Good job, kid!" The elite smiled and moved on, now that there were more rockets returning.

Alba
There was one ball hanging at the girl's hip, and it seemed that she was too distracted keeping her eyes free of debris to notice the small pokemon growing closer. The raichu, however, would pose a problem as soon as the dust settled.

Valentine
"Welcome back! And what did you bring me?"

Tambrey
The drifblim was successfully returned to its pokeball. Tambrey was right, though, in that the trainer was on her feet and starting to give chase.

Inigo watched his fellow grunt speak with the elite, but when Shadow finished and before he himself could say anything, a girl possibly around their age arrived, and Nyx seemed to focus on her for now. That was fine by him, he could wait. That in mind, he twirled the two stolen pokeballs in one hand with the other hand in his pocket as he waited his turn.

Valentine fished the stolen Pokeball off her belt and held it out to the agent. "I honeslty have no idea." She winced at how pathetic that sounded. "Its trainer didn't have it out when I approached, and I was more focused on achieving the mission than stopping to see what it was." At least she knew it had to have a Pokemon in it. Who would chase after a thief over an empty one?

Speaking of Pokemon, Valentine snagged another ball off her belt and recalled her Tepig. The movement allowed her to catch a glimpse of one of the other Rocket members tossing a couple in the air. Had she gone before him, even after arriving after? She gave a small apologetic smile before turning her attention back to the elite.
