Christof had nearly fallen asleep, just happy to snuggle against Amrita, quietly enjoying the show (regardless of the antics in the audience, or quality of said show)... when suddenly. Wait. That... wasn't a puppet.... All hell was breaking loose around him, and he bolted to his feet, ready to leap into the fray when he froze, turning to sign frantically to the ghoul, "Stay-here. Stay-safe!" As though she would listen. That said, he made a bolt for the creature, leaping over the seats, face contorting with the pent up rage the stressful last few days had brought, left fist clenching tightly as he swung a punch to the giant rat creature's flank for what good it would do.  HP: 40/40 Damage: 3 Collective Damage: 114

Before Mei had realized it, the play was already over. Pulling the popcorn from her ears, she was about to applaud, when instead she froze when the lights went out. Looking to Bul as he practically choked on his popcorn, she patted the boil on the back, standing to her feet as well. "I..I have no idea." Whatever it was, she didn't like it.
The smell of peppermint was enough to make the doll cringe. This smell was an all too familiar smell. Christmas Town. And here she thought she would never have to see anything JOYful again. Great..
"Jackdammit! You have got to be kidding me!" It was only a year ago, when amityville had been carrying out a raid on the Christmas creatures..looks like it was their turn to attack them. My HP: 40/40 Damage Dealt: 3 Collective Damage to Boss: 117 Anything attacked/attackers should note: ---

As the giant rat moved, Alexander moved with it, his feet sliding along the stage floor. If anything, his grip on the rat's leg tightened and he just refused to let go under any circumstances.
In a short moment of the creature not moving around, Xander pulled himself forward, opening his mouth and clamping teeth down on the leg that he was currently gripping, having a taste of the rats leggy flesh.
Not bad, not bad.

Tsetsiliya eyed the costume wings she had discarded, laying innocently at her feet. They were rather heavy, and in her mind she saw them flying just right if she threw them at a certain angle.
It was a silly hope, but one that she had to try. Hastily she picked them up and aimed it sideways, throwing the wire and tulle wings at the Rat King..
.. only to watch them go sailing somewhere offstage. Hm. Maybe she shouldn stop listening to her imagination.

Ugh, this thing was tough! How did it get here anyways, she wondered? Not that that really mattered anymore, she supposed--what mattered was that they prevent it from actually hurting anybod--
--Too late. Poor Sammy! Turning back to fact the Rat King (and in complete contrast to the amazing kick she had just done a few moments ago), Xiu kicked the creature in the shin.

Edel formed a snowball and threw it at the rat king. Which just ate it up. The ghoul wondered why on Halloween did she do such a thing.

THE RAT KING
Status: Feeling dangerously queasy, that little zombie rat-wannabe and her little friends are vicious! It horks up several gallons of peppermint puke onto Sammy, for 15 hp of minty DNW damage! Then it kinda passes out... You guys can totally attack again after the boss attacks, but keep the damage total rolling, do not reset as it is not really a new round. Also the Rat King seems pretty out of it now...

Yǐn Cáng caught sight of Alexander and was slightly upset. There the zomboil was, happily gnawing at the Giant Rat, and he had not gotten a proper taste. The rat's a** shaking about had temporarily mesmerized him, but now he dove back into the fray, picking up the tail again and chomping down heartily.
This time his teeth made solid contact, and he got a wonderfully luscious bite of rat tail. His eyes closed in bliss, and he let go and backed away to regroup himself. And to savor the delectable bite. Apparently sometimes bigger was better.

Hel scowled as her first strike missed the rat, but returned Sammy’s high five with a firm one of her own. “Heh! Wouldn’t miss a good fight for anything, friend! It pleases me so to say we can do this side by side!” The reaper gave a short laugh. “No can do! A good reaper never lets go of their weapon. Sorry!”
The ghoul blinked as Sammy held out the prop sword to her. “Ah, you got it!” She held onto it, and watched with awe as Sammy just went totally bad a** on it. The valkyrie was grinning from ear to ear as Sammy returned, and chuckled at the nick name. “Not a problem, your majesty!” She passed the sword back off to the undead ghoul, and twirled her spear before going to take another strike at this imposter Rat King.

Alwine looked over at Mort, her rat-hat-flail still in her fists. "JOY is what makes Christmas... Christmas. It makes us weak, it's-- it's a long story... I'm sorry..." Alwine sat the rat hat on the floor and floated a few inches into the air. "This is serious. It's time for my jack-o-lantern to make its appearance. I hope I don't hit anyone..." Alwine used her natural ability to summon her ectoplasmic jack-o-lantern and hurled it towards the Rat King's head! ... Unfortunately it missed and went sailing by. Alwine really, really hoped that she didn't hit anyone. Luckily for everyone involved, it didn't. Instead of hitting some poor student, it smashed into Tset's costume wings and promptly exploded. Sadly it wasn't very majestic, and sent ectoplasmic residue and shiny wing bits splattering on the stage. YEAH. The over-sized appetizer was starting to look sick. Good stuff. "Take that, you... Rat b*****d!" Well, that insult actually worked pretty well in this situation. Now what did she do? Uh... UH! Kick him in his rat butt? Sure!

Malodore was... speechless. With awe. And with actually kind of wanting to kiss its ghoulfriend quite a bit, just a little. Okay, maybe a lot. But... they were in the heat of battle. It wasn't the time! "Be sure not to over-exert yourself, mia cara bella," it said, then blinked and realized Riley wasn't the only one looking at it. "Ah! Calder! Ah.... what are you doing?" It peered at the kelpie, bemused, head tilting to one side. "Are you injured already?" And then the Rat King vomited and collapsed. Oh, lovely. "And is it dead already...? How very boring. Do you suppose I could get a sample of it?" The plague doctor sounded a bit too excited by the prospect.

The second Mandy smelt peppermint on the air she knew it for what it was, trouble. So like the well prepared ghoul she was she quickly booked it into the back of the stage area to find something very important: projectiles. In this case a box full of mangled Nutcracker dolls she'd practiced with in preparation for the play.
She came back with her haul just in time to see the giant rat king throw up on Sammy and pass out. Gross. Despite its rather defenceless state she now was ready for a fight and that wasn't going to go away unless she hit something... besides it could be pretending. So she nailed it with a nutcracker corpse.
Hard.

Calder looked at his hanging fist, and up at the Plague doctor, hanging there.
Just hanging.
He was still leaning over the seats, streached out for the fist bump that felt would never be.
"I'm not sick. Just....you ...make a fist....and" He looked up at Mal, before looking over his shoulder to see that the Rat puked and then died. Well, seemed everyone was getting sick in here. He felt bad for the gnomes who had to clean this mess up later.
Sighing, Calder waiting.............but did it feel a tad...colder around here?
He shivered.

Riley slid out from behind Malodore, took one of it's claws and bent the arm gently around hers, and nodded. Actually, I think a good inspection is most assuredly in order. She wholeheartedly agreed, and led it over to the passed out Rat King. I don't know if I want you to touch it, though.. not with your bare claws, at least. It could be infectious. Remember the JOY, after all.
Attacks were still flying at it's unconscious body. Ah, the children of Amityville were so lively tonight.
