It was off the school for some more classes; only not. What Levi found there at the front gates... Boogeymen. She'd seen a lot of them lately on the school grounds, it seemed. Or at least, more than she had back home. They attended that "retirement" assembly; it now seemed that the academy's secretary was having quite the heated argument with them.

The tatzelwurm noticed the figures first and then the sign stating the problem clear as crystal. Closed. They wouldn't... they... couldn't. Could they? They were boogeymen, after all; why were they suddenly deciding this? Well- it had been heard in the halls by the tatzel... the whole scandal going on in the papers regarding the students and staff of Amityville; lot of crock, really.

They wanted her to leave the school. The school would be closed down? It was like the hopes of her kin just spiraled down a drain pipe. Things were going so well here at the school... she'd gone through her first examinations, learned new skills and made many notable companionships. So much more was needed and it seemed that now they threatened to close off her chance at continuing on. Would the tatzel really just have to return home in the end? Education unfinished? Would they even have her go to another school or just stay back home and be schooled like the rest of them?

There were a lot of upset students crowded about, being hassled to step aside by the boogeymen. She recognized nearly all the faces... angry, frustrated... sad.

She didn't blame any of them. Levi wanted to hear the answers to some of these inquires.

Well... This was interesting. Holly didn't have a place to go but the school. That's why she was going to the school in the first place! During the night she'd been shuffled out with the other ghosts. Now they were all stranded. Really?

There seemed to be a lot of confused students. Lots of angry and some happy. Sure the school was closed but ... where do they go, would anyone see each other ever again? The ghoul looked around for anyone she knew. First she saw West, so she went to bother him. She'd find Levi and probably others later. Hopefully.

Holly nudged West in the side. "So this sucks. Where do they expect us to go, I don't have a home like others." Which sucked.

There was a clattering as all of Taryn's books hit the pavement. The bright sign was like a slap in the face and an icicle in the heart, and she had to read it twice to be sure. Amityville? Closing? Where would they go?! What would they do?!

The school had been a life-changer for Taryn. No longer was she stuck studying amidst people who loathed her, bore down upon by a pack of over-achieving chimera. No, she had friends here. She did things. There was no way she could go back home and live like that, not after this. She'd just die!

"No!" the ghoul yelped, forgetting about her books and pressing into the crowd, "They can't do this!" Did she agree with everything the staff had done? No. Did she believe that they had done their best in the face of a great tragedy? Yes! This was their home and an institute of education, and there was no way it was being closed. They would stage protests! Sign petitions! Amityville would not close!

"What is this?!" She turned then to see the school nurse standing nearby, and heard her speak some very comforting words. The students seemed ready to band together, and with the staff as well. "Good... good! We can't... they can't..." So Roch's worries about the boogeymen had been somewhat misplaced, but this was worse. The whole school... what would her parents think?!

Desu-chan was never fond of rules. Part of why she’d gone off to become a trick or treater. Nox was doing what Nox did best, and most of the coalition was keeping to themselves. Dark times for Halloween. Dark…and lacking in things to be be-dazzeled and glitter glued. Pinks and whites and blue, and silver bells jing a ling a ling ringing, the Trick or Treater was a touch befuzzled with the sign. They could have you know, used a better color. Or used a less ugly sign, or better yet. Not have been so jack damn dumb and let the school stay open. In one hand her overly blinged out purse was packed full of something… in the other her cell phone was flipped open, taking pictures of students, faculty, and bogeymen present. She was a bit sad really, there were no tables to flip to express herself. (Cue inner table flipping at the lack of tables (ノಠ益ಠ)ノ彡┻━┻ )

Reaching into her bag, she let slip a small cloth of red, hints of where she stood. Red had been one of the most beautiful magical girls ever after all.

All of the tension was getting to the ghoul; the complaints of others, the claims of others, and most importantly the comfort most were attempting to instill within one another. Sure, they could all SAY they would do everything in their power to make sure the school would stay afloat, but did anyone them know the real reason as to why all of this was happening? Did anyone have that kind of power?

Still, the monster couldn't help but fall into the same act as all the others, trying to stay confident even if the odds seemed against them. She blinked and turned her head to face Tybalt, and then Tset, trying to force a smile across her lips. "It does not seem like our professor's are going to just stand around and wait to see what happens. They are our strongest voices in this.. We will fight for the school, do not worry." Then, turning again to face the ghost dog, Natalia frowned. "Hey, at least you have a home.. " shrugging her shoulders before turning back to the gate. It was definitely a sore topic, the way her white face contorted, no tears ready to fall but the pain to be found very apparent. It was perhaps the biggest reason why the lemur dreaded the idea of losing the academy.

She had no one else to turn to outside of this school. She was the Tigger of Halloweentown. There was only one.

"Hey, Alwine," West said, glancing down at the ghoul, or at least where he assumed her face was. Truthfully, he ended up looking more toward her neck. She seemed... expectant. He wasn't really sure what she wanted from him.

"Yeeeeesss?" he replied, grateful when Holly nudged his other side.

"I, um, I dunno. I'm sure this'll all blow over, right?" He tried to grin, but it came out sort of constipated. Why were all these Debbie Downers so intent on harshing his mellow?

"Yet they never showed up here before the horsemen did they?" He couldn't recall a time when the 'hunters' had been in the school. Then again- bucket head. "You can't say they were not a part of this. That they didn't help cause this. They might have helped us on the island but-" A huff. "You saw how crazy they are. For all we know, they are in cahoots now!"

Cahoots indeed.

Looking to the grue, he brought up a good point. "Do you think we should go look for Miss Hellma?"

Ordinarily, Nahm wouldn't have been particularly agreeable to the idea of actually seeking out the headmistress. Now, however, was an appropriate time to call for an authority who should be on their side. "Awesome idea," he answered. "Any ideas where to start?"

"Gene," Xiu repeated with a weak smile, commiting this to memory, "And sure, that sounds nice. Though...it'll probably have to wait until..." She gave a vague gesture in the direction of the sign. What was going to happen? The concerns of her peers echoed in her own mind: where were they to go? Back home? Now, without any warning at all?

Even if Arel had told them that the school may be closing, the baku had at least assumed that they would have been given some prior notice. Maybe the bogeymen hadn't wanted to give the staff and students any time to fight back...but it looked like they were all planning to do so anyways. At least, Nurse Cricket's words gave her some reassurance that they weren't just going to sit back passively and let the bogeyman take their home away. Xiu squared her shoulders a little at the thought.

Spotting Mort huddling by a familiar figure nearby, Xiu lifted a hand and waved to catch his attention. Brows pulling together, she pointed to him and mouthed the words "are you okay", figuring that he wouldn't be able to hear her over the noise from their distance.

"You're wrong. I don't know if you were there that day... but way back, a few months before we went to the island, he showed up here. Or rather, a black cloaked figure with that scythe. He told us to use our FEARS on him and left us feeling drained. This was in the forest... " Jericho said lowly before snarling, "And that Jack damn man was on ICKIS CAR WITH US."

Now that he had realized it, he couldn't forget the moments were 'professor Caelum' had run into their car, claiming to be looking out for the students' safety. BAH.

Even so, Isra had a point with how crazy the horsemen were. Still, the dragon had his doubts that they were working WITH the hunters. Seething, he looked over at the other student that had spoken up. He didn't really recognize him but right now he saw no reasons to abide to the rules.

Not when the rules were just there to make them believe they were safe.

They weren't.

If anyone looked up, they might see a figure, cloaked and hooded in red, perched on the roof, quietly watching the Boogeymen. Its ears and tail had been carefully tucked out of sight; its identity was not immediately obvious.

Mei wasn't at all surprised to hear about this..not that it made her happy about it. Just the opposite. "Great, now what?" The doll ran a hand through her hair, frustrated over the whole thing. She couldn't go home yet--she wouldn't go home. Last thing she needed was to be stuck back at home with her father--especially when he caught wind of this. He would never let her set foot in this school again! Not that it would matter if this place really was closing..

And then there was the issue regarding those hunters! How the hell were they supposed to prepare to fend them off? By closing the school, it pretty much screwed their chances if the hunters were to show themselves again. This sucked!

To Nahm's question, the siren looked breifly at Jericho before looking at the school. "Just her office, but if we can't get in-" The Jericho proeeded to utterly freak the siren out.

"Heh. I'm pretty sure there's a way." Nahm studied the wall carefully, eyeballing possible routes. "Gimme the room number and distract the boogeys and I'll see what I can do."

Astra had been struggling to keep up with her studies, having spent the majority of her time worrying about Riley and trying to recover from her own injuries. So when she awoke that morning to find the crowd of students, as well as the giant sign saying the school was closed, she was generally confused.

There had been so many things happening as of late, that she was having trouble trying to keep up. Not to mention that she was still unsure of what the full story of the hooded reapers was. Many times she had come close to finding out, only for something to happen which would demand her full attention. But regardless of how much she knew, the fairy ghoul was sure that the school closing had something to do with their involvement with those reapers. And Red of course. It still hurt to think about their fallen teacher, but she did her best to cope with it.

Hovering closer to the scene, she heard various tidbits of conversation from angry students, then paused when she saw Shehk and Merope standing nearby. She hadn't seen the undead leviathan in a long time and was happy to see him, but was more worried about seeing Shehk. The last time she had seen her was when she had been kidnapped after all.

"Shehk!" She called out to the ghoul, looking very worried as she flew over. "Are you okay?? You're not hurt are you?"
