Ah, the simple statement. This is this and that is that. Mort's favorite. He grinned and nodded, for this was a Mortimer not yet tainted by a betrayal, who still saw the Hunters as a far-away threat in another land that he would eventually become a death knight to fight against; a Mortimer who was content to bury himself in different worlds and pretend to be the hero, who was still happy to talk about humans as stupid fleshbags. Still a fantasy, still a dream.
"Is right . . . Sorry for, um -" What was the fancy word he was looking for? Come on, he had recently looked it up! "Sorry for die . . . d-dia . . . diet . . . ditri . . ."
>< Aaagagahgaghg.
Sigh. Another breath. "Sorry for talk l-lots 'bout nothin'," Mortimer retried, pushing his glasses up idly. "Ready for new race?"

Taryn, still smiling broadly, tilted her head. "Digression? Like..." She flipped her hair and tilted her chin up, clearly poking fun at a group of people she'd previously love to be lumped in with. Even her voice had become something butter-smooth and entirely upper-crust. " 'but I digress~' ..."
The ghoul dissolved into giggles then and shook her head, turning to the screen briefly before nodding to Mort. "Definitely!" It was more time for experimentation, and experimentation was fun!

While "digression" wasn't the word he was looking for, Taryn's impression made him go "heeeee". X3 He even tried to mimic it, though with a lack of hair and a very bad ghoul-voice, it was a pale (if not even more humorous) copy. After his bout of giggling (yes, giggling), Mort pushed a couple of buttons and soon the start-up screen popped up. All 16 characters in four rows and columns like last time, and the skeletal bat once more hissed passed the fourth wall at the students as it held a traffic light.
Red . . . yellow . . . GREEN!
And with a grin, Mort revved on forward as the most horrid, cheerful music began to play.
Rainbow Road. A nightmare in their terminology. Glitter was everywhere. If a kart was mishandled and feel off the rainbow track in the sky, the player was treated to a horrid vision of the characters splatting on the ground miles below before being brought back up to continue the race.

Taryn just burst into near-hysterical laughter at Mort's impression, bent double on the couch. "Oh--!" was all she could manage when the race began, still suffering the effects of laughter as they began. She would undoubtedly be seeing herself splatting a good dozen times by the end of this race, but it was fun, Jack damn it. Hopefully she'd get to use an item on Mort this round, but just look at how far ahead he was! Worry didn't creep in this time, though.
Winning would be a plus, but it wasn't the point.
