Mic chuckled, "Right....if I get cold I could just snuggle up with you...and if we get bored then...well I am sure that we could find something to occupy our time." He leered at his mate hungrily before brushing past him in a provocative nature. "This way...come along." He grinned over his shoulder as he continued into the forest. Oh what fun being a mate was. Especially since Vic was his mate.

Victorino shook his head and swatted playfully at Mical. "None of that you." He wagged a finger at Mical. "And before you ask what, I know you. I know that look. I know what you're thinking." With a chuckle he followed after Mical. "None of that until after we find the place." But how hard it would be to resist if Mical made an advancement while they were....bored. He looked at the sky and prayed to the dieties that they found a place...soon.

Mic grinned as he looked at his mate. "I do not know what you are talking about love." He winked at the younger, bright colored male playfully. "I hear water." His ears twitched to the right, "This way." He picked up the pace and started to jog. Finally his mind was on something other then attacking his mate. For once at least. After a couple of minutes, he stopped in front of a small river. it wasn't the biggest water supply but it would do. If they liked the area, then at least there was water for them to give to their children.

Victorino started jogging after is mate, trusting that the older fox knew where he was going. That it wasn't a ploy to get them lost. Of course, he perhaps should had more faith in his mate, but Mical could be down right devious in his efforts to get what he wanted.
Glad to see the river, Victorino went to the bank of it and took a small drink to cool off after that little jog. Licking his lips to catch any water dripping from them, Victorino turned to Mical. "All right, so you found a water source. Which means we'd have food." He looked about the area. "How much space do your plans for the new place need?"

Mic lifted his head as he thought about it, "Three rooms..." he started mumbling the dimensions to himself as he pictured the whole thing in his mind, "I will need 20 feet at the least...and it would have to be at least 10 feet from this water source in case of flooding...Hmmm....maybe 15 to 20 feet from here. If it does flood then it could collapse the den." He looked at his mate, "What do you think....which direction should we head in to start digging?"

20 feet? Three rooms? Well, they were going to have a large family...Vic pointed in the direction away from the river. "If we're worried about flooding, perhaps we should have the entrance that way so we'd have more of a chance to get away if it does reach our den." And with flooding, every second was a second that they wouldn't worry about getting caught.

Mic looked in the direction that his mate was pointing and nodded his head, "That is an excellent idea. Having it in that direction would give us the advantage if there was a flood. We could get the children out in a hurry before the water even reached out den." He grinned as he looked back at Vic and licked his cheek. "When did you get so smart love?"

Vic grinned. "Same answer as anytime you asked a question like that...When you weren't looking." Victorino started at the water edge and started counting his steps in order to figure out the space between the back of their den and the water. "I'd say 20 feet from the water as well, just to be on the safe side. It wouldn't kill anyone to walk a short distance more to get a drink." Victorino reached the end of the counting and turned to look at Mical. "About here seem right?"

"You seemed to do a lot of things when I wasn't looking." He smiled as he watched his mate, following his footsteps, "I would say at least four more steps and then we can call it good." Mic looked around the area and frowned slightly, "Hmm....I think that facing toward the mountains would be good so we should start the digging around here." He pointed to the spot. "It is going to be a lot of work, do you think that you're up to it Vic?"

Vic scoffed. "I'm not the same helpless kit you found Mical. I'm an adult, your mate, and I'll be darned if you ask me if I want to sit by while you do all the work." At that, Victorino went to the spot Mical pointed at and started digging.

Mic looked at her surprised, then chuckled to himself. "I don't think of you as the little kit that I took in. I haven't thought of you in that way for a very long time." He walked over to a spot close by and then started digging as well. "This is going to take awhile. Maybe a week or so to get the den just the way that we want it. SO while we're working we're going to have to find a place to sleep until it's done."

Vic's anger deflated. It was unfair of him to think Mic only said certain things because he thought Vic was still the same kit. They were mates now. His worries were now that kind, not as a parent to a child. "Sorry."
Victorino paused in his digging to look at Mical. "Next time we take a break, we'll find a place close by. Of course," he smiled, "we could always find a pile of leaves and branches to burrow under."

Mic chuckled, licking his mate. "You don't have to be sorry. You know that I would forgive you in a heartbeat. No matter what." He grinned, nuzzling his mate. "But enough of the gooey stuff...let's get serious and do some work before it gets dark out." He nodded his head as he grinned.
"Then we can discuss where we want to camp out for the night." He grinned, then went to work on digging at the ground like a man on a mission.

Vic gave Mic a cheeky grin. "And here I thought you loved the gooey stuff." Turning his attention to the ground in front of him, Victorino commenced digging again. He threw all the debris to the same side, where it eventually became taller than he was, and the hole was as deep as he was, and as long as he was. The multicolored male then started enlarging the hole width wise.

After several hours of digging, with both of their piles of dirt more then two feet taller then them, Mical decided that it was time for a break. Jumping out of his hole, which wasn't an easy feat, he poked his head down his mate's hole and grinned at him. "How does dinner sound to you?" He tilted his head to the side as he regarded his dirt covered mate.
"My, my love....don't you look stunning in dirt." he chuckled softly.
