Under Mot's skin, Hel had certainly crawled.

The reaper shifted uncomfortably, avoiding Hel's stare. Being so physical with a lady! And he wasn't even courting her? No no no! The very idea had him feeling cornered and sick.

Mot whined at her so called consideration, fidgeting with the poncho around his shoulders. He was practically sweating. "But..." Mot seemed to shrink in his seat.

He was considering chickening out.

Oh Mot, Mot, Mot…

Hel snorted.

Alright, I’ll be rather generous friend.” Hel scoffed. “If you change your bet, I will change mine.” There, it was a way out for the grim reaper. A way out of that bet…but they were still betting on something.

Mot sighed with relief, rubbing his neck. He was still pouting. Because Mot is a big baby.

Damn.. he really wanted to see Hel in a dress again.

Mot mulled over options, but none were as motivating. After some time had passed, Mot sighed. "Hm.. okay.. but then what is your new bet first?"
PostPosted: Thu Nov 24, 2011 8:22 pm

She had a feeling he might take a different bet for now…after seeing how incredibly uncomfortable he got, it was apparent. Hmmm. What was her new bet? Sure she had a list going…but…suddenly none of them seemed good enough. Hel tilted her head, staring out the window thoughtfully.

Her new bet…

Her new bet…

Hel’s expression immediately sobered again as a thought came to mind. She contemplated this idea that came to mind, briefly weighing the actions of such a bet…but before just outright came out and stated it. “…New bet.” Hel’s gaze returned to Mot’s, rather serious now. “If I win…you have to tell Lizzy about your…crush.” Wow…this was a bit left field and rather forward, wasn’t it? After that conversation she had with Roch…and their conversation from earlier…it just seemed like something to do. Mot obviously needed to take some initiative, and Lizzy had no idea about his feelings still…and hey…if she turned him down…then he’d get over it…right?

Hopefully?

You could say her new dare had him sobered up. Or you could say it knocked out every other thought or sound that had been mingling in his mind. Confess to Lizzy? He could barely admit it to himself. Mot's complexion went from a pasty pale to a flushed red. He turned his head to the window, one hand moving to rub his neck, another scratching at his chest. His heart was now beating so loud that his previously silent mind was not wrought with vicious drumming.

"..."

Suddenly copping a feel didn't sound so awful.

"Why?" He asked after a long moment. "She likes Mac. They're very happy together. What right do I have to complicate that?"
PostPosted: Thu Nov 24, 2011 8:41 pm

Apparently Hel made him pale, and Lizzy made him red. Lovely.

The ghoul rolled her shoulders. It left a sour taste in her mouth too, honestly but…she was suddenly on board with the opinion that it should probably come out. “It’s not about complicating it…if she truly likes Mac…she’ll turn you down.” Ouch, that sounded harsh too. “But…if she’s truly a good friend of yours…you should be able to tell her, yes? One shouldn’t hide things, right?” Goodness gracious. Hel was being rather hypocritical right now. She didn’t focus on that though, no. She focused on Mot’s plight right now.

Mot huffed, flopping backward in his seat, his head tilted away from Hel. Such defeat. He settled his arms to be crossed over his stomach, shaking his head.

Why were Hel's bets so hard? To get him motivated to win?

"If I win.." He murmured, thinking a moment. This bet had to be on similar grounds, after all. Keep the scale of danger even. The Groanspring conversation came to mind. Her and Roch. "You have to tell me who you like. You know.. like, like." Was it Roch? Or was he wrong? "Just honesty in general would be sufficient." Since Hel tended avoid emotional talk.

Mot was pouting again. It was almost adorable. Almost. It would have been really adorable if they weren’t talking about crushes probably.

Oh Jack.

As Mot tossed a bet back at her, Hel immediately faltered as anxiety gripped at her stomach. Damn it! She really should have started to think her bets through more. Of course he would have turned it around on her! “What makes you think I like someone like that?” The ghoul shot back defensively, though her tone and expression said it all. Busted. She really needed to work on schooling her expressions…

Mot's gaze fell to Hel, his expression falling slightly. "So I was right." He said in an even tone. Terra cotta eyes swept back to the window, watching the scenery. Her tone gave her away, even if she didn't speak honestly. It's how he knew she withheld things from him.

"Those are my terms. You're free to choose another bet." So he could get out of confessing to Lizzy? Chya.

Still, this game was no fun anymore.

Unlike Mot, Hel would not back down from a bet that was placed forth, no matter how uncomfortable she was with it.

She scowled once he said he was right. “You may be correct, but you have no idea who.” Hel muttered. If she lost…would he be surprised…repulsed? The thoughts made her stomach churn, and the sentiment ‘so close yet so far away’ really seemed to apply. The one she liked was sitting right across from her, and if he won…well…he’d know it was him, too. Still. She would not back down. Hel held a dark hand out to him, determined.

Deal.”

No idea who? Wasn't it Roch... maybe it wasn't. Maybe there was some other boil.

Maybe it was the atmosphere with how serious their moods were, but Mot's heart was aching.

He turned to face her properly, solemnly. He grasped her hand, giving it a shake. "Deal."
PostPosted: Thu Nov 24, 2011 10:32 pm

Hel returned the shake firmly, sealing their bet. She released his hand, and then leaned back in her seat.

Ugh.

This was one bet where she…probably wasn’t going to be pleased with either outcome. A deal was a deal though, made on her honor and pride as a warrior. “When would you like for this battle to happen?” Hel questioned. “A week from when we return, two, possibly?”

Mot nodded, leaning back in his seat again and watching the window with a faraway look. "That sounds good." Lot's of time to train. Train hard. Train long. Never not fighting and getting stronger.

He had to win this bet.

Two weeks from when we return, then.” Hel confirmed, glancing at Mot before glancing out the window, her brows furrowing. She was looking forward to battling him…she had been for a very long time…but in light of their recent bet…the excitement as dampened. The reaper sighed. Things are started off rather nicely when he got on the train…now things were rather serious, and he had a faraway look in his eyes.

She wasn’t sure…how to fix this…so she turned to gaze out the window for now, her brows furrowed as she wracked her mind over a way to smooth this conversation over.

The air was too thick. He wanted his friend back. He wanted to laugh and enjoy Hel's company. When he tried to think of a way to smooth it over, he either drew a blank, or his mind just seemed murky and noisy. There had to be something.

Moments passed for sometime. Mot, lost in thought, began to hum a tune.
