I've got my defenses
When it comes to your intentions for me

Endellion Aibhe {TӇЄ ҎΛTӇϜɫЛDЄɌ} Capricorn

And we wake up in the breakdown
With the things we never thought we could be

"Iustitia is right . . . we can't afford to fight one another." Endellion confirm, barely biting back the added retort to Cael's emotional outbreak 'We also need to keep our heads.' While she respected Cael for his diligence in his work, his inability to take other Scions' considerations to heart when jumping to conclusions made her impatient with him often.

Turning at the apology, Endellion considered Leith. He seemed nervous and upset, weak even. Sighing once, she gave up her irritation. There was no point in staying mad- doing so could only hurt Leith through his empathy, and his skill was needed much. Surely the others' emotions were bad enough without her irritance. She held out a hand to him.
"It's not a problem, Leith . . . My work is my passion, so you must understand if I give myself to it completely. I know you only worry for me, but it is something to be discussed later."

"Good morning to you as well." Endellion greeted the Aries calmly, blinking in his direction, head tilted slightly at the use of the mortal phrase. She visited the mortals on occasion, but she was not as fond of them as many of the others, and didn't know the phrase well enough to correct him. "Don't listen to Leith, Alistair . . . tensions are simply high. All parties are at fault, but it's been resolved. There are more important things ahead. . . perhaps you have insight on that already." She told him, as matter of fact as always, ending with the hanging statement that she hoped would invite any knowledge he had gleaned- Aries's gift of foresight was difficult to use practically, but when nothing was certain, he was sure bet for something to go on. It wouldn't do for Leith to keep blaming himself . . . one day he would have to accept that he could not fix everything by himself. It would spare the sensitive Scion much pain.

Endellion's back went rigid for a moment once more when Alephonze spoke out, but she turned politely to listen. He was forceful, as he could be at times, but she had learned to expect that he present a purpose for his sometimes over-reaching actions. And better yet, he had information. Immediately, she discarded her reaction, storing this knowledge for later use.

She nodded to his thanks, giving a slight bow.
"No less than my duty, Alephonze, to those of you who work so hard toward our safety." She told him quietly, meeting the powerful man's eyes a moment with her own golden brown gaze. "Alephonze is right . . . I have not finished my work, but soon, I must share it, so that it can be used by all of us. I will do my best to see that we do not face the unknown when faced with battle."

At the Taurus's last comment, her eyes shot to Alistair, who did seem tense. She watched his face silently awaiting an answer. Her lips pressed together at his reply . . . no one dead, thank the stars, but fighting, and after one of the meetings . . . that was sure to be messy, particularly if caused by a misplaced comment.

Endellion recrossed her arms, thinking hard.
"Cael, might you not consider bringing Insomnia? His abilities make him both a powerful and subtle presence, and his careful planning may help to better use what knowledge Leith's empathy gains us, towards negotiating the peace. . . perhaps allowing him access to the Shengxiao will allow him to better build a strategy to defeat them. Whether or not that is feasible, we need to find him soon . . . we cannot prepare our defenses with certainty of their effectiveness until we consult Insomnia. Of course, Alephonze, there is no reason you can't start your work . . . I only wish to be sure there is no oversight in the design of our protections. I know that what you set out to protect stays safe, but I would have you safe as well . . . well all know the fighting power of the Shengxiao . . . I would not willingly send even you, one of the strongest of our fighters, to fight them on pure strength and will alone." She finished, her voice slightly quieter. Alephonze, with Cael, was at the heart of the Zodiac's fighting strength, but even he had been gravely wounded in the past war. She knew unquestioningly that he would stand between all of them and danger at any risk, with no knowledge, if that was what was required. His loyalty earned him her deep respect, but she could not allow him to protect them that way . . . she needed to give him the information to protect not only his fellow Scions, but himself. 'Practical, Alephonze . . . . please be practical and do not risk yourself until there is no option.' She thought, hoping dearly that he would do so . . . that was her job, to insure that unneeded risks were not taken. She couldn't stand it if Alephonze, or even Cael was hurt because she did not prevent needless risks . . . she had to get back to work soon, to make sure she found all the information available, so that they could be safe.

((Sorry guys can't create a posting skeleton at this time, and this post won't be all that great because I am not on my own computer but I figured I'd post something...))

So many people, all in one place, as though they all just happened to know that the damn Leo was standing out there. It pissed him off for some reason, even though he kept it hidden with ease, beneath his calm exterior. He had just gotten back from a mission he had finally agreed with Leo on, and had only just stepped through the portal when he caught sight of everyone. It seemed that Insomnia always had some of the worst luck at times, seeing as on this mission he was attacked...

Of course he covered the injuries the best he could, even while knowing the cocky lion would probably smell the blood. He didn't care so much of course, because he wouldn't let the others tend to him. He would take care of it himself. With a sigh, he glanced about the group that had congregated about the..self proclaimed, leader of the Zodiac with mild curiousity. It seemed Gemini was the only one missing, which was unfortunate because he was one of the only scions he could tolerate at times...but only at times.

"There's no way I'm going over there, I'd rather go search from Aratus then deal with the blathering Guardian."

He muttered to himself before turning away and heading in another direction. The only real reason he even wanted to go looking for the male was because he didn't want to deal with whatever it was that the others were talking about. Insomnia didn't get along with a few of the people that were there, so he figured it would be best to leave it be...but only for a little while. No doubt they were planning something distasteful that would only anger him.

As he walked he slid a single glove off of one of his hands, and lifted it. A small flame flickered to life there, splitting into three within the next moment and spinning in the palm of his hand. It honestly hurt to weild the flames if he kept it going for too long, because of his elemental mix up this rebirthing, so it wasn't doing him any good to play with the flames then. When he was trying to fight for his life, three on one, he had been forced to use his flames to the point he had felt as though his insides had burst into their spiraling inferno.

His hand and arm now felt as though the bones and muscles were slowly turning to ashes and burned flesh. He didn't care.

Alephonze The Protector KaidoUser Image

Alephonze thought over what Alistar had said someone at a meeting had said something wrong and agitated a war. Without warning Alephonze turned away from the group and leaned against a column, his left hand outstretched, his bodyweight leaned against it, his head down almost depressed looking as he muttered to himself.

"It's my fault....That's gotta be me...No one else could be the one to do that...Taurus caused the war...That's how they'll write it. That's how Endellion will study it..."

This often happened to Alephonze, if he thought about anything in particular too deeply he had the habit of getting caught in a tangent and going off in his own little Taurus world, where most often things took a turn for the worse. In this particular situation the war could only of course be caused by him. Someone saying something to launch the world into war, it could only be him in his rage in the event one of the Shengxiao said something out of place Alephonze would be the one to ruin everything. This launched him into his mini depression. His glance suddenly shot over to Endellion as she spoke.

"I can't go!"

He yelled to her suddenly, as she offered up the idea of someone going with Leith. Realizing that he would seem sort of...out of it by suddenly yelling that out at her comment he put his right hand to his mouth closed it into a fist and cleared his throat into it.

"I mean...it's a wonderful idea, I just do believe one more diplomatic than myself should go. Someone that would compliment Leith's personality more so than I'd be able to...And I am perfectly capable of holding my tongue by the way!"

He finished finally coming out of his tangent and back to reality.

Leith §The Diplomat§ Pisces

Leith was glad for Alephonze butting in as he did, as it gave him to think and calm down. It didn't last long though for when Alistair stated his vision, Leith instantly thought of himself.. A simple slip up in his words.. just like he had just done.. That was all it would take to ignite this war into destructive motion. It could so easily be his fault.. He hadn't been alive during the last war but he had had to work out some of the negotiations, being thrown into the aftermath as soon as he was able. It was the most tense, horrible moments of his life and now they were happening all over again. A peace so fragile it could be broken by a tiny phrase, the space of a breath. That was all it took... It didn't matter what the other's said in condolence, though it did help, it just wouldn't calm his thoughts of self failure. He smiled to Cael though, glad that he tried to take some of the blame away, placing his hand lightly over Cael's and was startled when Endellion at least dropped his slip up as well.

"If this war does come, I will fight as well." he said suddenly, the words coming of their own accord. "I-.. I know that I wasn't alive during the last war but I want to contribute. If it comes down to fighting then it will still be partially my fault and I want to do something about that. I will not hide while you guys go out and risk yourselves. I want to help." He was obviously weaker than per say Alephonze or Cael but he could still hold his own pretty well. It didn't matter to him if he died while fighting. It would be a death well spent if he could help. "Of course I want to avoid fighting if we can.. Perhaps it would be better if I took someone with me. Now that we know about this proposed disastrous meeting. Thank you for that information Alistair." He nodded respectfully to the Aries after he thanked him. "Though since Alephonze doesn't want to go and you're so busy.. Well, we're all busy aren't we? I'm not sure if Insomnia would even wish to come or not.. ah, I guess just send whomever you think would be best. In this case, I would be willing to bring someone with me. I only want them to be aware of the danger of going into that kind of situation.." He felt a little silly for having to say that but really, it was different than what most of the Scions were used to here in their own place. A different kind of tension.

The Aries couldn't help but smirk in the slightest as the Capricorn greeted him back using terms the mortals would use. Alistair had spent a lot of time in the world of the mortals, and to him, it was an enchanting place... so different from what he was used to seeing on an everyday basis. Unlike his brethren, who made occasional visits every other decade or so, he went whenever he was not needed in the realm of the Scions. The people he met, the languages, the animals, the traditions and festivals... just... everything was so pleasing to him. That world really did make his inner child come out.

As the others discussed further into the situation, he noticed how uncomfortable the mentioning of his vision made everyone, especially Alephonze and Leith. He knew what was going through both of their thoughts, for he was afraid of the same thing. The two Scions feared that they were the main subjects of his vision, the cause of the war, yet in reality, he couldn't tell who the voice had come from... He could only see the reactions of the Shēngxiào.

While the two were both speaking their minds, and sharing the uncomfortable feelings with the rest of the party, Alistairs stared calmly at the floor, arms crossed inside his yukata, deep in thought. After Leith had finished, he looked up and said something he regretted, yet knew had to be said.

"Alephonze... I think it'll be best if you come along with Leith... I-I'll volunteer to go along... as well. I'm sure if anything goes wrong... I'll see it coming and stop it before things have a chance to get out of control. Though I know Leith and I can handle ourselves, I would feel more comfortable if you accompanied us, it's not a bad idea to bring a bodyguard, just in case." He stated, smirking at the Taurus as he finished.

It was true though, if something had the possibility of going wrong, there was a chance he would see it before it even happened, and he could prevent it from occurring at all costs. He turned to Iustitia once more. He felt uncomfortable around the girl sometimes, but she was a marvelous ally, and if anyone could detect a lie, it was her.

"I would also like to ask if you, Iustitia could come along with us. You talent for detecting the truth would be a great addition, and we would be able to know if everything they're saying is true or not." He said to her, smiling softly.

Iustitia listened to everyone silently, waiting for them to come up with a decision. "Of course I'll go if I can be of any help." She said to Alistair. She had been wondering if she should suggest that or not, but she wanted to see who else would be attending. So far only me. Alistair, and Leith are going....and I have no idea what Insomnia will say. "Are you sure you don't want to come with us Alephonze?" She asked. Personally she would be more comfortable with him there. She could fight pretty well, but she wasn't sure about the other two. "It will be fine if you don't as long as Insomnia comes." She looked around to see if he was here."Has anyone seen Insominia? Or Aratus for that matter?" They were pretty much the only two who hadn't come out of their chambers yet.

I hear their silence
Preaching my blame.

I'll come into your world, see through your eyes.
I'll try to understand, between the truth and the lies

Will our strength remain
If their power reigns?

Ophelia had gone to the deepest part of her domain. This was where all water originated from. Here, the water was clear and in a completely pure state. It was like looking through glass so Ophelia was able to see the sandy bottom where a few crystals laid. She reached into the clear pool where the water opened, creating a small tunnel so she was not actually touching the water. It created a dry tube, all the way to one of the crystals which she picked up. Once she had removed the crystal from the pool, the water filled in the space, becoming full once again. The crystal was ice cold since it was ice. Frost began to form on the palm of Ophelia's hand and it became thicker the longer she held the crystal. Ophelia left the pool and exited her domain, with the ice crystal. Aquarius joined the others once more where she heard the talk of the first meeting with the Shengxiao. As she approached, Ophelia shattered the crystal into eleven pieces. Ophelia let them drop but before any of them hit the floor, they disappeared going to each of the Scions.
"Those crystals will heal most injuries. You only need to ingest them for it to work. However, they will not be able to heal any major injuries such as damage done to your internal organs... I wish we could avoid it, but it seems that war with the Shengxiao is unavoidable..." Ophelia said sadly.

Alephonze The Protector KaidoUser Image

Alephonze listened carefully to what the others said. In all truth, having Alistair there would provide a bit more comfort and to have Insomnia come along worried Alephonze more so than having himself along for the journey. If anything, he should definitely be able to clearly see an outburst coming and stop Alephonze from launching the Scion into war. In case it was the Shengxiao however having him there could also prevent any casualties before the Scion had time to regroup, and sending the Insomnia worried Alephonze more than anything he might anger both sides, and of course his the side of him that towered as a Taurus refused to let him take lightly the request of any woman to accompany a group, though this played a smaller part than the rest a part was played in the decision none the less.

"I suppose if Alistair will be going to keep watch over as much future as he can, and Iustitia to keep watch over the truthfulness in speech then we should have an alright team set up to properly handle this issue."

Said Alephonze thinking it over, most all the strategic standpoints to protect the home world were already set should the Shenxiao decide to bring the fight to them, and Alephonze could remotely activate them so it would be fine, worst come to worst he knew he would stay behind and make sure the others could get back. He nodded and stepped forward confirming the plan, as he did so instinctively his hand reached up at the approaching of a flying object and grasped the Crystal shard, it was cold to the touch but gave off an aura of warmth all it's own. The healing Crystal from the deepest confines of the Aquarian domain. It was rare for Ophelia, or any Aquarian to ever bring out something of such consequence, she must have truly been worried. Alephonze tucked it away into the concealed pocket in his waist. He had no intention of using this shard, and if it came to it, he knew it would most likely go to another Scion than himself.

"Thank you, Ophelia, this could be very useful to us though I pray we never have to use it,"

Leith §The Diplomat§ Pisces

Leith's thoughts were spinning rapidly and getting absolutely nowhere. How many people were going to be joining him?? There was Alephonze, Alistair, Iustitia, and possibly even Insomnia.. Way too many people to be taking on that kind of trip. "I don't want to be rude but.. I don't know as if that many people going would be such a good thing.. Don't get me wrong, I'm very grateful for each of you offering and all of your skills would be highly valuable, I'm just afraid of taking so many. It could easily be viewed as a threat as well. They are used to seeing just myself on these visits and while they may not take one or maybe two people badly I think any more than that may upset them to begin with.. I'm not even all that sure about taking two people with me. With tensions already so high I certainly don't want to make it look like we are flaunting our power." He bit his bottom lip softly, his expression thoughtful. "I don't think though that I hold enough authority or seniority for that matter to make the decision though."

His thoughts were suddenly snapped back when he felt something cold against his hand that was still fiddling with the cord. He dropped it immediately, mentally scolding himself for showing his worry at all, and picked up a crystalline shard. Blinking in slight astonishment, he looked up to Ophelia and gave her a grateful smile. "Thank you miss Ophelia.. I will use it well." More than likely not on himself if someone else needed it but it would still be used when or if the time arrived. He walked over to her and gave her a quick hug, pouring out a little happiness to try and ease her. "I will do my best to help keep it from happening." he told her quietly, his tone reassuring, before he released her and gave her another smile. "Don't worry okay? We will all do our best."

+++++'Why? Everyone's making plans for war remember? I don't want any part of it and neither do you,' he replied, pulling the blankets up further. He heard Tus sigh and then felt a tingling sensation, signaling that Tus was separating from him. 'Damn,' he thought, just before Tus started shaking him.

+++++"Get up!" Tus shouted, right before he jumped on the bed. He ripped the covers off Ara, tosiing them on the floor. "Now." He said, blowing wind in his face.

"You get to be in control since you want to talk to everyone." He said, merging with Tus's body. Ever since the last war they were always merged outside there chambers. "Whatever." Tus said, pulling on his boots. His shirt was wrinkled from sleep but he didn't care, just threw on a jacket they headed outside to find the others.

"Where is that damned Gemini at? You would think that it wouldn't be all that difficult to find someone so movement oriented, but of course I would be the one to have the problem."

Insomnia mumbled to himself before pausing at the end of one of the hallways he was about to pass by. A slight movement caught his attention, and he headed in it's direction without much of a second thought. In his mind, utter chaos reigned...well..at least to someone who didn't know how his thought process worked.'If they were indeed talking about a war, I suppose I would have to go and talk to them about it..I mean...I am their strategist..But I really don't want to deal with them...' he thought to himself for a moment, before another formed somewhere behind it.

'Then again, if I do have to suggest a strategy for the war, then...I would have to say it most likely wouldn't be the best idea to just storm in there on any given day...that perhaps we should await a day that they may actually be at a slight disadvantage...' His thoughts continued on like this for a while, many strategies and ideas developing as he followed behind whoever it was that kept going around the corner just before he could see them. However, his mind kept drifting back to the fact that the Shengxiao were a more...festive kind of people. The scions of their people resided over years, and their years were usually celebrated with parties and other such things like that...both in the celestial realm and on the earthly plane. If they could just catch them at the beginning of their next year...or during one of their festivals for the animal who resided over the year..they could most likely have a much better advantage over them.

The only problem he could really forsee in this idea, was the fact that they would be invading on a sacred time for the others, and that some of the zodiac scions probably would not agree on the idea. Not to mention, the Shengxiao would probably realize this themselves..if they really even expected them to make the first move at all. Insomnia found himself knocked from his thoughts as he finally caught sight of who he had been following...it was in fact, Aratus. Then he came to the realization that the gemini scion was headed straight for the meeting. Sighing, he decided to give up on avoiding everyone and to just deal with their presence. However...that didn't mean he would play nice or tolerate them for long.

As he approached the group, the scion raised a hand slightly in some sort of greeting to the others, and came to a stop, a little distance away from Aratus. However he remained close enough to him to keep him from feeling to uncomfortable at the others presence.

"So everyone's decided to gather here for some sort of meeting about this possible war...am I right? I don't think everyone should be jumping to conclusions...about what may or may not happen. Though I understand the caution..I suppose."

Then he glanced towards Leo and locked his gaze on him.

"As for the mission you sent me on...I can't say that it was a complete success..and I can't say that it was a complete failure either. I honestly still can't see much of a reason behind it....nor what purpose it was meant to serve."

He said with a coldness to his voice, as he tried to keep his frustrations out of it.

And we wake up in the breakdown
With the things we never thought we could be

Endellion gave Alephonze a worried, if slightly impatient look. "There is no way of telling who will make that remark, Protector . Do not be so quick to downplay your own eloquence . . . and do not worry so about what may be. Focus only on what must be done . . . if your words bring war, then it is a war that is truely inevitable, for you are among those who most crave peace." She said, arms still crossed neatly over her chest, making her a neat, crisp figure amongst the mixed dress of the Scions.

She made no reply to Leith's comments, simply blinking once in acknowledgement. The Diplomat was brave, offering to stand with them, but such was needed . . . if it came to war indeed, then she would debate the practicality of his taking to the battlefield, but for the moment, his desire to contribute and protect was not worth commenting on. She approved of his willingness to be of use, if nothing else.

At Alistair's remarks, she nodded, silent. As they all reacted she listened, gauging their mood. It seemed that Alephonze would go after all.
"Wise words . . . with all three of you present, I cannot see any small chance of peace being missed nor wasted" She told them calmly.

Next she turned to Ophelia, holding the shard in an open palm, examining it. She gave the other woman a slight bow. It seemed that her worrying had given her a practical insight toward this war.
"My thanks." She said, slipping it into a tiny pocket in her skirt before recrossing her arms. She paused, listening another moment as others offered their comments, not replying until Aratus appeared.

She kept her face cleanly nuetral- betraying her distaste for his refusal of the war would serve no purpose.
"Hello, Aratus . . . we discuss the probability of war, and the negoatiations."

And then, Insomnia approached.
'Everyone's gathering.' she thought, looking around the tense faces that made up their circle. "Not so much a planned meeting as a convergence, but your guess is close enough.... . I jump to no conclusions. I speak so as a simple matter of practicality . . . we must prepare for the worst now if we wish to ensure our safety. " She stated, turning to face him directly. Inwardly, she wondered what The Strategist was making of proceedings. At his next remark she lifted a brow, arching it as she glanced between Leo and Scorpio. "Mission? I was wondering where you've been. " she stated carefully, barely biting back the desire to demand answers from the two now, hoping they would speak of their own accord. 'We cannot afford secrecy amongst ourselves now!' she wanted to scream at the two. Instead she batted her eyes calmly. Tempers would serve no one well when tensions ran so high. Patience. She just had to have patience.

Alephonze looked through as more of the Scion arrived a few in particular he wished had stayed away. Insomnia of course near immediately analyzed the situation and thought to bring up the mission here and now. Insomnia was the strategist, and in so Alephonze was fairly sure that Insomnia was smarter than he. Had this been some sort of ploy to spark conflict between the Scion, or had he simply stated it at his own will, in a rage because he had been attacked.

Alephonze stepped in between the gaze of Insomnia, His blue eyes locked onto Scorpio, the gaze of the Taurus unwavering,be attempted to be as diplomatic as possible in his speech knowing that Insomnia would indeed be choosing his words just carefully enough to where the words themselves didn't come off wrong, it was always the way he said it that would draw a rise out of people, Alephonze was a sucker for being goaded into it and this knew and accepted.

"We have been discussing this possibility and reassuring the other Scion of our intent to pursue peace before making any sort of movement towards a potential war. I assure you our caution is justified and we will proceed as such. You would do well to begin your duty in forming a strategy for defense in the event of an invasion we want to be able to prevent any casualties."

Yang would not break eye contact once during this conversation. He simply moved to where his body as well faced the Scorpio. His posture seemingly more relaxed he slightly extended his arms from his body a slight shrug as he continued,

"As for your mission, if you were sent then the purpose was served and with your specific set of talents I am sure you did your very best. Any mission given to a Scion is with clear intent which should have been disclosed to you at the time of assignment, and a choice on wether on not you deem it a mission you are willing to undertake. I do hope you made sure to fully understand your briefing before you chose to embark."

Endellion would of course take notice to this and her words were more calm than his own but at times, and especially in dealing with Insomnia, Alephonze didn't feel that calmness to be sufficient.

I've got my defenses
When it comes to your intentions for me

With the things we never thought we could be

Endellion listened to Alephonze quietly, calculating the words that she imagined were intended to mildly reprimand Insomnia's condescension . . . and perhaps to allow her to glean more information.

Before Insomnia- or any of the others- could speak, Endellion took a step forward, gliding to Alephonze's side, mere inches from the Taurus. His greater height and build made her slight frame all the more apparent, but Endellion was not intimidated in the least. Lightly, she rested a small, slim hand on his shoulder, intercepting his gaze with a level, dark gaze. When she spoke, her voice was quiet, almot under her breath, inaudible to any but herself and him.
"Alephonze." She said, both warning, and getting his attention with her tone. "We cannot afford a two sided war, my friend." She murmured, words soft but intense, This said, she turned to face Insomnia herslf once more, chin lifting at an angle that promised that her uncompromisingly stubborn nature was about to be revealed.

Voice raised to a clear tone that carried firmly, she addressed Insomnia for the second time.
"You ought already know the validity of the statement, Insomnia . . . Can you imagine that I would allow even the slightest bit of irrational action? Furthermore, Alephonze makes an excellent point . . . I work dilligently at my research, as the others do at diplomacy and their respective affairs in preperation. However, without a strategy, delivered in a timely manner, to be implemented for the defense, above and beyond offense, our efforts, collectively, will be vain. I hope that comes into account before you dissmiss our concerns." She told him, sharp black glaze bearing cooly into his own indifferent eyes. Insomnia often considered himself singular, but she was not about to let his chilly arrogance get in the way of their work; not with so much at stake. While she held him in high regards and enjoyed his rational, clever approach, at times such as this, she found it hard to tolerate his moods.

She continued, unwavering.
"And beyond that, now that you have made open and indiscreet mention of this mission, I suggest that you divulge the nature of it, and whatever you have gleaned . . . there is no place for secrecy when war approaches. We must stand united, and all of us fully informed . . . I think I speak for us all when I say that we will treat your information with the proper care. And do not mince words, or alter the facts . . . I do not think Iustitia would appreciate it. " She finished, refolding her arms across her chest to level Insomnia with her best over-the-glasses commanding look. She knew it was a risk drawing the harmonious Libra into this conflict, but it was a chance that she was willing to take to pressure Insomnia . . . now of all times, they could not afford his mind games.
