Ah, I see. Well i don't have any better reason to use the dark elf myself. I just haven't seen them used very often, or not as often a some other races.
I am glad you were able to tell apart the difference in my use of the word "race" though. I was being vague. You are right though, it is more about culture and environment. Not just the type of humanoid.
There are people who froth at the mouth if the sun doesn't rise at exactly the time it says in the almanac. That's why it's so tantalizing to change the way an image of something looks. You're going to make someone mad, why not have it be a legitimate reason?
The idea of different worlds being used for one race seems a bit excessive to me. Even having multiple worlds for one setting is complicated. It's one of the reasons I don't play World of Warcraft or any of that. If you want multiple places in your story, in my opinion; applying them inside the setting instead of just mentioning them is better. It's still excessive though. Because it's better for a character from mars to have more of a history of mars than just "Yeah, I've been there before"
I just though Panda was a character someone (Maborofel) played and died so that it would advance the story. I haven't actually gone back and read through everything yet.

I would suggest not bothering, actually! Not only is it veeery very long, but things have changed a lot since then... one of the reasons we did the reboot was because some people, including me and mab, were unhappy with the inconsistences in our charas and their histories and stuff. So the reboot was a chance for everyone to change whatever they wanted and start afresh. So I dunno, things might just get a little confusing for you, that's all. Nothing's stopping you =D
I think you may have misunderstood me on the whole "two different worlds" thing. Our rp doesnt TAKE PLACE across multiple worlds, but one of the premises is that Gaia is a kind of meeting-point for different dimensions, which allows people from all kinds of different dimensions, universes and worlds to come together on Gaia.
That's why people started putting the "gaia-native/gaia-non-native" thing on the character sheets to begin with. Some humans, such as Lorika, are native to Gaia. Some humans, such as Bapp and Ardelle the priestess, are not. There are Gaia-native felids, such as Meta and her posse, and there are Gaia-non-native felids such as Fel and Gwarn (both from different worlds). There are gaia-native dark elves, like the Kuro clan, and there are gaia-non-native dark elves, such as C&J. If somebody, wanted, there could be a whole 'nother breed of dark elves from another world, too (which is what I was suggesting for Atlae - it's moot, though, it was just something to keep in mind if you were worried of infringing on the world/history I've created for my two, that's all).
It's not a stretch to have races from a lot of different words at all. Everybody comes together to form a nice melange in the Temple 4laugh
And no, we had quite a few more people playing before that aren't active any longer. Panda used to be a moderator here - his character was also called Panda, and he used to be the magic teacher. mrgreen

Sooo ah made a post in the rp!~ Not sure how it sounds as a jump from the action of the night before, but I think it's okay. I know ugaiz have stuff planned for now onwards... and so do I 83 CANT WAIT TO SEE IT ALL
Also, I should state for Thorn and everyone else's benefit that you can just post in whatever timeframe you like, it doesnt have to be early in the morning/in conjunction with what everyone else is doing. I think it's best if we go back to being flexible again, to keep everything from stagnating. I only did it like this because I know Inu wants to do some stuff in the early morning. I'm sure we can all handle two or more timeframes running concurrently - we've done it before, after all 4laugh
I guess all I'm trying to say is if you have something planned for later in the day or at night or something but don't wanna wait around for everyone else to catch up with their own scenes, just go ahead and post it, as long as you make it clear when it's happening.
*ramble* Please do tell me to clarify when I'm not making sense. My brain tends to run away ahead of my fingers sometimes.
Depending on what happens with you guys, Cressa might take the lesson she was talking about today, or in a few days time. I'd like to do a few of them as we go in, if possible. I think they'll be fun for everyone ;w; Should show more of the combat lessons, too, and maybe some stuff with the priestesses... *mutter*
also, I almost put "The day has advanced. IT'S NOT RAINING." at the top. teehee, inside jokes

Whaaat? The discussion thread is being used for serious discussion? This demands a celebration! But really, in seriousness...
Yeah, Panda was played by Panda of the Twilight, ex-mod. The character-Panda died in a freak accident involving Cressa (and, to a lesser extent, Xei and Evelyn), which ended up blowing a good portion of the Temple to smithereens. At the end of Part 1 (before the reboot), there was a large Christmas ball to raise money for repairs.
I just put 'Gaian Islander' because everyone else had added a 'Race' section...why not, right? I'd have to agree with the culture/race distinction...it's practically the nature V nurture argument. (And it doesn't help that I took an Intercultural Communications class this last semester....so my eyes are opened, so to speak.)
I still want to bring out more of Xei's Cave days...maybe when Nestor/Julian/Marsia get used more....speaking of which, I still need to finish those bios. Well, anyway, now that the party is over, I think I should post.
Edit: Just for kicks, I added a Culture section to Xei's bio. I think I'll do that for all RPCs in the future, it comes in handy.

I have been working tirelessly all day over a hot laptop to get as much information about Evelyn's family written out. Mostly what I've gotten is the ages of her family, and a bit about her father.
(OH, by the way, Lorika...that trio that I was talking about with you? Totally got 'em done. I'll edit them into my dossiers later. ;O )

I'm slowly getting it together, piece by piece. 3nodding

I've started working on a post. smile IT SHOULD BE POSTED BEFOR neutral E I SLEEP TONIGHT. Additionally, LORIKA, I MISS YOU SO. It seems whenever I log on MSN, you're not on. ARE YOU AVOIDING ME SINCE I CONFESSED MY UNDYING LOVE FOR YOUR FICTIONAL CHARACTER INSTEAD OF YOU? I'M SORRY, LOVE, IT WAS INAPPROPRIATE FOR ME TO TELL YOU I WAS IN LOVE WITH A CURRENTLY MINOR CHARACTER.

Rule #1 of non-life-threatening writing: Go with it
Rule #1 of life-threatening writing: Make sure to subtly insult the thing that's going to kill you. Also, go with it
And on a more personal note....for every post that I actually make anywhere, there are 3+ that got cancelled because I didn't feel like I was contributing....except here. I just go in thoughts a-blazin and then post what comes out
