Altair felt bad when she spoke, then saw her eyes shining with held back tears but was surprised ar her sudden turn of attitude, going from almost ready to cry to perky and playful, this mare certainly was different. "Thank you Velvet" he said, though his thoughts continued along the lines of *but friends are a risk i can't take* ... he didn't say it, there was no need to. No matter that he wasn't doing exactly as Ezio had planned he couldn't risk the safety of the mare by becoming her friend. "nose kicking is very handy in a fight, it's a good weak spot" he said smiling a little.

She actually looked disapointed but thought over what he had actually said. "I... I guess its got to do with all those things we can't talk about huh.... Well..." Her expression going rebellious. ".... I don't need permission to think of you as MY Friend." Which was true, but she could only imagine that would make him mad or upset. "But I'll never tell, promise. I've never broken a promise either." Trying to placate him from worrying. "Surprise is good too.... OH! And knees!" Changing the subject to good things to use or hit in a fight.

Altair laughed, "Alright alright..." he said, knowing that if the mare came to him for help again, he would. "Thank you" he said carefully when she promised never to tell. "Ears, most will protect their ears" he said, laughing softly.

She looked up at him thoughtfully. "I think I'm a little too short for attacking ears. I mean it would be kind of obvious." Walking closer and having to get very close and rear up to be able to nudge his ear with her nose. "See." Settling back to her hooves, not having had to rear too high up but she had needed to stretch a little.

Altair ducked his head, his hood dropping over, hiding his face once more "If you're fighting not every opponent stays upright" he spun out of her way after she planted her hooves back to ground "Always see what your enemy is protecting the most and use that againse them" he chuckled "The manhood is always a good place if you're fighting a stallion, mares often protect their eyes the most" he said playfully.

Her face going redder and nodding. "I'll try to remember those ones..." Not moving closer to him. Looking around for more apples and seeing only the ones on the branches. "Mind your head!" Calling out she makde a little jump and grabbed a branch, pulling it down and letting it go, knocking apples off of the other branches near it, apples falling around them. She bit into one that rolled to near her feet. "Sorry, I'm not normally such a pig, I've just been really hungry the last few days."

Altair smiled at her embarrassment "If you have to fight, it will do you good to remember" he chuckled, watching as she numbly leapt and pulled on a branch, it was only when she leapt that he noticed the slighty rounding of her belly beyond the usual mass of a regular mare, he knew she wasn't overweight since everything else was in porportion to her size and his eyes grew wide when she apologised for her eating more "Um.... that's ok Velvet" he said, didn't she know? he wasn't sure how to tell her if she didn't but didn't want to put his foot in it if she was just refraining from mentioning it.

Watching him as she munched her apple. "You look like you have seen a ghost." Her eyes innocently oblivious, sending an apple rolling over to him. "Here, you look like you could use some too."

Altair looked at her again, "No ... no ghosts " he said quickly taking a bite out of the apple she tolled over to him. "Um... you've not been feeling sick lately as well as hungry have you?" he asked, still torn over whether to mention it or not. She seemed to innocent to be decieving him and pretending ignorance of her 'condition' but he knew one or two mares and even one young stallion that was the master of assuming innocence when needed.

She thinks about the question and shakes her head. "No, should I have been?" Havign been lucky, she hadn't suffered any morning sickness, well not yet anyway.

Altair sighed "Velvet.... i think there's something you need to know....i think you're going to have foals" he said flatly but carefull, ready for whatever reaction she had. He felt she should know, with a family like hers she would need to so that she could protect herself and children.

Her eyes went wide, taking in what he said. Opening her mouth she had been about to tell him it was impossible, but it wasn't, it was all to very possible, after all she had had that one time. Gasping in air, saying one word in shock. "Espen...." Wondering if she should feel guilty, she had been lonely so she had said yes to a stallion she didn't know, and now she was going to have his foals.

Altair balked, crap... he'd been wrong to tell her like this judging from her shock. "Velvet i'm sorry but... it's better to know now so you can keep yourself safe, if your family isn't good for your health... i will make sure you have food delivered her if you need it Velvet" he said, determined to look after the young mare somehow.

She thought about that, her mother at least would be thrilled. Looking at Altair, he was offering help. Looking at him and shaking her head. "No... its not your responsibility." Grateful as she was, Altair was not the father of the foals he thought she carried, it was wrong to depend on him. Besides she shold try and find where the father had gone.

Altair stamped a hoof "It might not be but if you're hungry enough to venture here in search of food then i will make sure you don't go without, at the very least i can make sure of that" he said, having no intention of raising her foals or anything of the sort but he could ensure they were fed enough, at least until her foals arrived. He could always send someone to watch over her, it was risky and put her and her foals at risk but with a skinwalker father and no one else to look out for her, Altair thought she could do with the extra support.
