Makoto headed off towards the tree line thinking about what she should show him first, her collection really was expansive. "This way" she looked at him to ask a question as she walked "Do you explore this area often?" She wondered why she had never met him before, had he ever seen her home and not realized it?

Onyx shook his head "I don't, I don't really live around here, I come for the fish and thats about it really unless I want to hang around by the lake" he said as he followed the other "I have a cave quite close to the beach, I know that place is usually for waters and dragons but I have always loved the beach ever since I was little, same with my sister, so when she came to find me I decided I would find a nice, rather spacious cave that we both can live in near the beach and before that I lived more on the outskirts of this place then right in the middle of it all."

Makoto smiled since nodding was out of the question. The beach was nice enough, but not for books so she had ever only been once, the sand gets places it shouldn't and the salt water air was horrible on the pages of her books, no it was a nice place to visit but she wasn't going to live anywhere that was bad for her books. It did explain why they had never met before though. "Were you thinking of taking some books for her?" She didn't like the idea her books would be expose to the harsh conditions of the ocean side but she had already told him he could borrow some so she wasn't sure of the proper way of going about things now. Should she risk her books destruction?

Though he never read a book in his life he did understand that the harsh conditions would be bad on the books which is why they wouldn't be leaving his cave, heck, he wouldn't be opening them at all and his sister would be told the same thing, if she wishes to read them she would have to remain in the cave to read them or travel to somewhere that wasn't going to be around the harsh conditions, the lake here was nice, a bit of a trip, but the walk would be nice as well, they could even do it together "Perhaps, it depends really, I am not entierly sure what she would read, I guess I will just take a book or two for her if that is alright" he said, dodging a fallen branch.

"Of course" she smiled not really sure if it was or not, but so long as they came back in the same condition they left she was happy to share. "When I'm ill I love to read to take my mind off things, I'm sure a good book will do her good." She lead the way through the trees till they came to a narrow pass two giant boulders standing as sentinels at the entrance old worn symbols mar their surface, many too far gone to decipher. "I found this place a few years back while looking for books... it's a strange place sorta out of the way, but it suits my needs" the ground grew steep and rocky as they climbed. The weather here was perfect for her books cool and dry they could last far beyond her life time, with the proper care far beyond may lifetimes and she planned on giving them the proper care. "I will warn you it is still a mess, finding help fixing it up is a bit of a challenge" she paused looking at him for an instant to give an explanation "my human doesn't know about it yet"

"I do agree with that, it is nice to do something like read when you are sick" he said, having Andre read for him all the time when he was sick, sure there were a few things he still didn't know the meaning of but more or less now he could easily talk and understand French so at least that was something "have you..." he said following her, looking around, needing to explore more obviously as he started to climb the steep road towards her cave, being careful not to drop any of the books whilst he was at it "...thought about asking her or him? opposable thumbs may just be needed" he said, one eye watching where he was going and the other on the books.

Makoto opened her mouth to answer then shut it again unsure how to explain. "She lives in a tiny place with a lot of permas running around .. and some adults too... it's really cramped in there..." she gazed a head as if she could see her home around the trails bend "I'm afraid she'd try to move in.... she loves books too... well she loves to read.. she's not the best at treating them nicely though.. and with all those permas and others running around with no regard for books at all... I'd just rather not have them know." it was her place, she found it and she didn't want to have to share it with anyone who didn't respect her books. She started walking again hoping he understood, he seemed the kind to care for books so she thought he would, but one can never be sure.

"Hmm well then, I guess I can see why you haven't told her" he said as he thought about Vincent, 'his' human, well....technically, he wasn't his but a guy he knew that spent time with him, bringing him food every now and again or the odd sweet treat or whatever when he cooked, usually they saw each other on a daily basis even if food wasn't involved, but for some reason he hadn't seen him today. "I have a human you can borrow...well, he isn't 'mine' exactly but still" he said, knowing that sounded a little odd "his name is Vincent and he loves books, he is always carrying one around with him and if he isn't there is usually a good reason as to why he isn't, he is young but experienced in fixing places up, he is an interior designer by trade, even has his own company that is doing rather well, so if you want you could see what he says" he said, knowing Vincent wouldn't mind helping though him needing to do over a cave....yeeeeah, may not be his greatest job yet but it would be a challenge which he loves.

"Oh wow that would be wonderful!" she exclaimed excitedly, she had a big grin on her face and her pace picked up. As they rounded the bend the path opened up to a rocky clearing where an old plantation style house stood in disrepair, the columns all collapsed and paint nearly gone, doors and windows long since removed it didn't exactly give one the sense of safety but Makoto didn't give pause, she walked right up and through the empty door way.
She returned bookless a few moments late and looked up at the crumbling building "What do you think?" her tails wagging excited the place might get a face lift. She had chosen the place when she saw just how many books it could hold, it even came with several books of it's own. She had cleaned out the place so there was little clutter but the building itself still needed a lot of work

Onyx looked the place over, for its age, it was still beautiful but then again as lover of old buildings and what anyway he was a tad biased "I like" he said as he walked towards the house "alright, I love and I see I was wrong" he said as he gestured to the books on his back which, thankfully, were still together "what do you want me to do with these?" He asked, deciding to get rid of these first before he carried on and anything happened to them.

Makoto trotted back into the building "this way" she led him through the hallway passing partially collapsed room, partially functional rooms, and rooms with full floor to ceiling wall to wall bookshelves until they reached a room which seemed far less organized than the other book rooms, instead of books filling the shelves they covered the floor in neat stacks, only a few bookshelves had anything in them. "You can put them anywhere in here, this is where I sort and organize my books, or repair them if need be." A disarrayed pile of blankets attested to the fact this was also where she slept.

Onyx followed the other and as he walked into the room he looked around and softly smiled to himself, the room may be in a mess now but in its day it looked like it would of been a rather nice place to have come to read "alright" he said as he walked over to a near by pile and gently placed the books onto it "so how did you find this place?" He asked curiously, from the stories he had heard he thought there was nothing like this in the local vicinity or if there was the building was ruined so much it would be inhospitable let alone have places to place books and whatever else.

She opened her mouth to speak before closing it again blushing. "I got lost when a sudden storm rolled in, I thought the path might lead to a cave when I stumbled into it" she shrugged "I found the house instead" course when she found it she could barely get inside with the debris built up over the years and water still managed to leak in on her but she had seen the bookshelves with a few books on them through a broken window she knew she wanted to make it work and luckily there wasn't a lot of leaking in the rooms she had filled so her books were safe. It had needed A LOT of work and it still did but she didn't want to give it up. She was just glad there weren't earthquakes or the whole place might tumble down around her.

"I guess in one case, the storm was a good a good thing, good find" he said smiling at her "would you mind if I took a look around?" He asked, not usually wanting to look around others homes but he couldn't help himself, ever since he walked into this place a part of him wanted to explore it the place.

She smiled pleased at his pleasure with her home, she nodded "Just be careful, some areas aren't exactly stable" she gave an apologetic smile "I've cleared most areas, but some..." she frowned well some she was a bit too scared to try "some might be dangerous"
