End of the first day. Two days remain until the Hallow's Eve Ball. The weather has become colder, and the drying leaves cling desperately to the stark branches of trees. The Makai students migrate to the Castle Inn, a large hotel establishment, to await the ball. Others who will attend also will make their way to Lumena. There seem to be a large amount of non-descript Reapers patrolling the streets, a number that has been rarely seen in public before.
Places to be: Castle Inn - Lounge. Lumena Town Square. (Or invent a shop or pub to be in, if you so choose, just remain in Lumena now.)

Lumena's Town Square.
After his graduation and formal witch attire granted, Rajih had found himself immersed in the Lumena crowd for the Hallow's Eve ball. Though he had no date at the moment, it didn't stop him from mingling in the crowds of people.
What worried him only at the moment was the sheer amount of reapers walking the street. They watched him with a careful eye, as if they knew he was of the Majin race. He ducked his brightened green eyes away from them as he took a seat among the Lumena's famous town square. He kept his clothes tucked around him, enjoying the brisk autumn air and looked to the tree's. Color decorated the branches as they changed from hues of greens to reds to yellows and some even to a dark brown. Autumn wasn't his favorite of season but it was one he loved the change from.
His hand came from out of his sleeves to catch a falling yellow leaf before he stared at it...and then turned his palm up so that it could catch the wind and fly. For now, he would enjoy the solitude from the square, for soon it would be filled with eager students and people to join in the festivities that made the Hallow's Eve Ball famous.

Lumena Town Square
Due to the reports that the Reapers had been receiving about rogue Witch Eaters wandering about, it was no surprise that they would station a Black Heart there. Or, at least, that was what he told himself instead of thinking it was because they didn't think he got out enough. No, he didn't really enjoy joining their little social events, too fixated on the next mission, the next hunt, but did he really have to be stationed here? With a sigh Cruor lifted his head a little, peering at others from beneath the hood of his cloak from where he stood, leaning against the side of a shop.
Many that passed through appeared to be innocent travelers, though he knew that Majin could blend in rather well if they wanted to. Unfortunately the only way to actually identify one would be to watch them siphoning energy, stealing a heart or, in a Witch Eater's case, with their wings out. However he knew, deep down, that killing any 'innocent' majin would cause a massive uproar should he do it in Lumena, so he simply focused on watching for anything suspicious. Hopefully he could prevent something terrible from happening.
Suddenly Cruor's gaze was drawn by a streak of green, eyes widening a little before he noticed the hair; he thought that he was over this already. However the closer it got to that particular anniversary... Well, the more he seemed to dream and think about that which he had lost. Such distraction wouldn't bode well for him on this mission, so he instead, looked over the boy from within the confines of his cloak.
It seemed that he was young, perhaps fresh out of the Academy or in his last year. His demeanor spoke a little of wisdom, one bought with a bit of pain, whether emotional or physical he couldn't tell. Heaving a sigh he looked away, scanning the crowds of running, squealing girls and the exasperated adults to distract himself; he was projecting his own problems onto others again. Perhaps he really did need a break from his normal duties; it seemed that perhaps the stress was getting to him.
After his brief lapse of focus his eyes drifted skywards, staring at the position of the sun; it wasn't going to be long before he could duck into a cavern for a drink or three. However sometimes he wished that he had a partner to share such times with, to keep him safe from his mental conversations and musings. Despite such thoughts he leaned back and settled in to finish the rest of his long patrol.

✰★✰ Hᴏʀʀᴏʀ ♥ Mᴇɪᴅᴏ ✰★✰
Lumena Town Square. The sweet, lulling voice of a female songstress purred out docile tunes into Ruria's ears as she listened to her headphones. The chill wind nipped at her cheeks, which had become slightly rose-hued in response to the chill fall weather. She had been here before, when she was a child, yet for all her wishes, she couldn't remember where the nearest spook-filled, dark magic shop was. She was going to miss out on collecting this month's Pocket Horror Meido Doll.
It was then that she saw it. A crimson hue against the cold blue sky.... Why, she had never seen anything or anyong so strong-looking and handsomely beautiful before. Such a sharp visage cast against the normalcy of the cobblestone streets, practically gleaming before her. Before she knew what she was doing, she was standing in front of Cruor, staring determinedly and directly at him.....Well, more accurately, at his scythe. She was chewing her lower lip, and seemed as if she might pop at any moment. "T-That...... That..... C-Can I touch.....that wonderful-delightful-extraordinarily-resplendent weapon? Where did you acquire it! Where can I acquire one! You don't understand the raw urgency I feel to attain this information!" she sputtered her words quickly, unable to repress her excitement.

Professor X was attempting to figure out just what in Hell's name he was doing here.
The beginning of his morning had been spent back at the Academy, lazily preparing his students for their upcoming exams (not that he particularly cared whether or not they passed anyway), but now he was sitting in the middle of Lumena, perched on the edge of a stone fountain that had water spritzing upwards in great, glistening arches. The skies were a pale blue, the leaves of the trees surrounding the square tinged gold and orange as they slowly shifted from one season to the next. It was quite beautiful, if one thought that way.
Professor X was, needless to say, disgusted.
"Why would she send me here? This is pathetic. I am not some menial little gopher to do anyone's bidding."
Disgruntled at his misfortune, Professor X grabbed a branch from one of the trees standing nearby, snapped it off, and proceeded to use it as a toy of sorts, swirling it around the water of the fountain.
It was quite apparent to everyone around him that the man with the red and black hair with the enormous green snake around his neck was very, very bored.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Requiem Driscoll could see his breath in front of him.
Exhaling slowly, so as to not disturb the little bird that sat on the top of a tree near to where he stood, he peered up at it with a vague, indiscriminate expression on his face that would not belay the curiosity he felt for an animal who could create its own music just by using its voice.
The bird twittered and flew off in a gust of feathers. Requiem pulled his scarf more tightly around his neck, lowering his gaze.
It was cold outside; the days had grown shorter, the nights darker, and even now the whispers of the goings on of the day before had passed through the town of Lumena. There was an inexplicable amount of reapers here; their scythes flashed in the pale sunlight as they walked past, a few of them giving him vaguely threatening looks as if to put him in his place.
But Requiem lived in Lumena; he had moved here several months ago, and they had no right to be suspicious of anything he had done lately - which was, in fact, nothing of consequence. He and Lycander had been shopping a few times, and had made two or three trips into Moonfall, but regardless of that, he did not appreciate their unspoken accusations.
However, none of his feelings were betrayed on the outside of his countenance. Requiem Driscoll remained as stoically quiet and uncaring of the rumors flying around him like paper in the wind as he had before, never giving any of the "rumor mongols" a second glance.
Even now, as he was waiting for Lycander to join him for a drink, Requiem stood with his hands in the pockets of his black coat, the hem of which nearly reached the tips of his knee-high, laced-up boots. His wardrobe had expanded considerably since moving in with someone like Lycander; but the boots had been Requiem's own choice, for once, wanting to show his best friend that he knew how to properly dress himself.
A breeze ruffled through his hair. Requiem's golden eyes moved to the pocket watch he kept in his gloved hand.
Without a word he took a few steps to the left, wanting to move more to the center of the Square, but he had not looked where he was going, bumping into someone unexpectedly.
"Pardon me," Requiem murmured, without looking up. "I was not paying attention."

Her nose wrinkled up at the scents and the Reaper sneezed. It was cold. Colder than the day before. And something in the air - probably the ungodly tension - was irritating her sense of smell. And taste. It even tasted like tension. Eww. Alright, there were other scents about as well. Some more familiar, like those wafting up from the tavern's, the restaurants, even a bookstore she passed at one point. And there were other Reaper's about as well. Shaden had seen a few of them in passing, merely offering them a nod of her head in greeting. None she had known. Still, what did that tell you when the Reaper's were being spotted in more numbers than usual in Lumena?
Lumena. This was not a city she ever enjoyed visiting. And definitely never came here unless otherwise instructed. Too much of a risk in running into a family member here. But alas, here she was. Again. Yay.
Looking around again, the Reaper caught sight of an interesting man. Interesting as he had a tail and if her eyes weren't deceiving her, he was another Reaper. Shaden regarded the red armored Reaper from her spot on the opposite side of the street. The armor suggested he might be more than just a simple 'Reaper'. Unfortunately, he was not one that she'd ever met. She considered going over to introduce herself, but when girl with pink hair appeared, Shaden kept to close to the buildings she was near and began to head away from them. Not that she made it very far.
Nose twitching again, she paused for a second time in her wandering of the streets, having barely moved from where she'd first stopped. Another scent caught her attention, this one also familiar. Shaden's ears perked up and her tail swished lazily. Now whyyyy would he be here? Hadn't he made Makai his haunting ground? Snorting, cyan eyes narrowed to watch the man pluck a branch from a tree and proceed to play with the water of the fountain. Cute and childish.
Annnnd she was about as bored as Professor X was so... "Y'know. I bet if you swirl the stick fast enough you can spell your name. It's simple enough."

As much as staying in and fixing a nice hot cup of cocoa sounded, Lycander couldn't deny that he always loved going out for a drink. It gave them a chance to meet new people and the place they were beginning to frequent the most was a nice little place. And, more importantly, Requiem liked it.
Thought of the Majin made him hurry about and finish throwing on a jacket, scarf, and good boots. He'd initially stepped foot outside, ready to head out until he realized just how blasted cold out it was. Which had sent the redhead back inside to get a coat. And then that turned into changing his shirt to something a tad bit warmer as well, adding the boots on, and grabbing a scarf on the go. Properly dressed, Lycander quickly followed after Requiem's footprints - and getting distracted by this or that item in shop windows along the way - finally catching sight of his boyfriend. Who had just bumped into a green haired boy.
"Ah, I finally caught up to you." Lycander said easily as he slipped his arm through Requiem's and halted him from running into any more people. "Forgive me! I didn't meant to get...well distracted by so many fine and appealing things in all these shop windows." He gave Requiem's arm a squeeze before glancing at the other boy. "And forgive me for being rude! How are you this evening?"

Lumena Town Square
Theo had finally come to Lumena. He felt even more uneasy here than he usually did, possibly because of the number of reapers around. It was unprecedented. The hard looks on their faces, the suspicion that could clearly be seen in the eyes of the townsfolk left a sour feeling in his stomach. They were wary, they were scared. Fearful. It hung unspoken in the air, this suspicion that even that little child who had just ran past him was the witch eater who was attacking people. Anyone and everyone was a target now. Age and looks didn't matter when one was judging now. He sighed softly, pulling his cloak around him. It was slightly warmer here than in Moonfall, but there was the smell of winter in the air. The coolness of autumn was slowly giving way to the frost of winter.
Last he'd checked, Ophelia was sleeping on his couch, having fallen asleep there after she'd poured her heart and mind out to him. She was nothing if not troubled, judging by how long they had stayed up to talk. Not that he minded. He still wasn't sleeping too well, despite that dreamcatcher Graveyard had more or less forced on him. Rephrasal needed here. Forced him to make. That was closer to the truth. She had looked completely exhausted, if he was honest. So he had left his spare keys and a note for her there. As long as she locked the house up it was fine with him. Not that he had anything of any real value in the house.
However, in spite of the grim news that was floating around, it seemed as if many people were out and about on this day. Shrugging, Theo ploughed through the crowd and headed to the town square, from which he'd go over to Kyu's home in a little while. Unless he saw Kyu out here first. It was unlikely, given the flood of people that seemed to continue increasing in size. He found himself bumpign with several people, and over at one side he thought he'd caught sight of a rather familiar head of teal hair. It could have been his imagination though. However, if it was actually Rajih, that meant he had graduated and they were long overdue for a sparring match. Theo's lip curved in a smirk as he contemplated the possibility. Either ways, that meant he would have to pay a visit to Phil soon and see if Rajih had actually graduated or not. Then proceed to promptly kick his a**.
"It's fine." Theo replied automatically, not paying much mind to yet another person who had bumped into him. However he hesitated for a moment. The boy looked vaguely familiar. That and if he were right, that was Rajih right in front of him. "Rajih!" He called out. The majin boy definitely had graduated if he were here. He looked different now, out of the Makai Royal Academy uniform. ""Looks like someone survived the year of school." Theo's lips curved in a wry grin as he surveyed the boy before him. Sure, Rajih had a couple of inches on him, but what did Theo care. Rajih could be a freaking giant if he wanted. A giraffe, elephant. He probably had a few more but that wasn't of any import now. "..Is that your sister's clothes you're wearing?" Theo couldn't help but make a jibe at Rajih's outfit. The way the clothing seemed to wrap itself around him made it look rather feminine, as did that little rosette. The overlarge sleeves would prove dangerous in a battle if they got in the way. One wrong move, and Rajih would be down for the count. Theo smirked as he regarded the younger boy.

Cedar hadn't been here since she was in the Academy. The place didn't seem like it changed much either. Granted it was pretty busy; which was expected. Her olive hued eyes glanced around looking for a familiar face but she didn't catch any... The students seemed to be enjoying themselves and finding their friends. She event watched as someone bumped into a green haired boy, then another male came to his aide.
Tucking a few strands of hair behind her ear as a breeze came from behind. Cedar turned to see Professor X again. She thought she could see a look of disinterest in being here on his face, but who knew. Rocking back and forth on her feet she, watching the reapers. It was a little dis concerning having them around... But it was understandable. She felt a little bit better, but not quite at the same time. One small thing could set the place off, and stampede... Shaking her head, she didn't want to think of things like that.
She tilted to the side before finally caving and heading toward the Professor. As she got closer she saw that he was playing with a stick in the water... And someone else had already already approached him. She opened her mouth to say something but was bumped into and she stumbled.

It was Lea's first time in Lumena and he had been gaping at the extravagant sights and sounds that greeted his senses almost everywhere he went during his exploration of the city. The cold brought upon by the rapid change of season didn't bother him at all. In fact, he very much preferred it over the sweltering heat in the summer and totally felt at ease walking out in the open in nothing more than his academy uniform.
He couldn't say that he felt likewise about the abundance of Reapers that currently prowled the streets though. A few of them had glanced his way a couple of seconds longer than what one would classify as a cursory look. 1 or maybe 2 of them had even looked at him funny but thankfully noone had decided to approach him... yet. Maybe it was his ears and tail although he had a feeling that it might be something more than that. Not that he really cared to find out since he was only going to be here until the Hallow's Eve Ball was over, following which all the academy students would return to Makai where things took on a semblance of normalcy somewhat. Speaking of which, Lea began to wonder offhandedly if one absolutely had to have a partner in order to attend said event. Social events were never really his cup of tea but Kei had been really insistent on him attending this one at least and he would really hate to disappoint him.
So absorbed was he in his own thoughts, that Lea did not notice until too late the olive eye girl who had seemingly appeared out of nowhere and right in the middle of his path. He collided into her with a soft grunt, his reflexes prompting him to swiftly rectify the loss of balance lest he fell into an ungraceful heap on the ground and attracted any more unnecessary attention as one hand shot out to grip her forearm while the other went for her back in an attempt to prevent her from falling and possibly injuring herself.
"... I'm sorry. Are you... alright?" He inquired softly as to her well-being.

With winter inevitably on its way, Rosel was forced to do the one thing she hated: cover up. Kindof, anyway. She’d added a plush cloak today, fur-trimmed for extra warmth, and a pair of knee-high, heeled boots. Her stockings kept her legs warm enough, so she got to keep her skirt at least, and left the cloak open in the front. No matter; she still looked fabulous. Winter was her least favorite season, and not just because she’d eventually have to cave and put on some pants. People rarely frequented the taverns in wintertime, so she was stuck taking sips from people doing their shopping, or the occasional shivering hobo, should she be in a large enough city.
Unless the suspicious atmosphere lifted, she’d have a hard time getting food this winter. Maybe that’s what this new witch eater intended? To drive all others into hungry desperation and get caught? Rosel frowned and looked at the bundled up faces around her with equal parts anger and suspicion. She so wanted to believe Emelia wasn’t the rogue witch eater, but in the end, she couldn’t be certain. It’d been so long time since she’d gotten the chance to sit down and talk to another of her kind… Another pair of eyes would be useful in this environment, if only to watch one another’s back over a meal.
Stepping up on a curb, Rosel scanned the crowd for the shock of pink hair. Her eyes snapped to one girl, who appeared to be talking animatedly with… a Black Heart?!
Rosel frowned and forced herself to step down slowly, eyes still half-heartedly searching the crowd for Emilia. So. The Black Hearts were trying to sniff out the rogue as well. And with her luck, the Cerberus Knights would be showing up as well. This whole ball was turning out to be a disaster. She’d hoped with so many witches in one place, she’d be able to glut herself on energy and maybe even steal a heart or two before slipping away. But with each day that drew it closer, it was looking less and less likely she was going to have any fun at all.

Lumena Town Square
Backing out of the bookstore, still calling his thanks and goodbyes to the owner, Azra'iel was lucky he did not trip backwards down the two steps leading up to the shop or bump into some unfortunate soul walking by. As a breeze whipped past him, the pale-haired witchling burrowed his chin further into his scarf; his only concession to the chill in the air. Moments into being back outside, he was regretting not grabbing gloves and maybe even one of the heavy sweaters his mother had forced on him.
Turning to face the bustle of the town square, Azra'iel was surprised to see a number of familiar faces. There were many more people about than when he had entered the bookstore earlier that morning. Now he was going to head back to the Castle Inn, get some mulled cider, and settle into the sitting area by the fire to enjoy his newest acquisition.
As he set off across the square, a figure in a gorgeous, fur-trimmed cloak stepped down off the curb across the street from him. The owner turned, scanning the square and flashing brilliant green eyes; eyes that sparked torrents of memories from awkward childhood and early teenage social gatherings. Champagne eyes flared as wide in response as Azra'iel froze where he stood, hoping that if that woman truly was Rosel Shimala of Moonfall she did not see him.
It just could not end well for him if she did.
Locking his eyes on the door of the inn, Azra'iel gulped down a deep breath and crossed the street just outside of Rosel's line of sight, keeping his eyes away from hers.

Castle Inn: Lounge Chanda had steadfastly refused to visit her parents while she was at Makai and, thankfully, her brother had agreed with her decision. It wasn't that she was trying to separate herself from her family (she would never), but both she and Dylan knew that their mother would have adopted an insufferably paranoid mentality coupled with a microscopic detail focused gaze.
"Your skin looks dry, are you eating right? What are you studying? How is it going? Any cute boys there? You're not staying out too late right? Your eyes look a bit tired are you getting enough sleep?"...and so on and so forth.
Dylan had given her a small speech about birds and nests and flying that she didn't quite understand but, when she sent it to their mother, apparently it had worked. (Well, she got twice the amount of letters from her, but letters were easier to ignore than her in person.)
So when news of the Hallow's Eve Ball came around and the letters and dress packages began piling up she had hoped to get the same type of magical speech to give to her mother...but she hadn't. Apparently this Hallow's Eve Ball was a big deal to both of them which left Chanda with no decision but to go. Going to Lumena would normally mean going home but luckily her brother was able to convince their mother to let her stay with the other students at the Castle Inn. Something about authentic experiences, socializing, and a date. Truth be told, none of those reasons sounded very appealing, but, again, they were definitely easier to deal with than an over-worrying mother...or so she thought.
Dylan had said he'd meet her in the lounge; help her pick from the dresses their mother bought for her (or buy a new one if none of them worked for her), and even find a date...but the hustle and bustle of the Lounge was overwhelming and the prowling reapers just outside made her fur stand on edge to the point she found herself quietly growling when people came to close to her.
"Yaha bahuta jyādā hai...(This is too much...)" she whispered to herself, fingers gently rubbing her temples. "Maiṁ mērē kēndra hāsila kī jarūrata hai...(I need to regain my center...)" Chanda slid out of the plush chair she'd curled up on and slinked out of the lounge, bright blue eyes remaining focused on her shoes in order to avoid catching any one of the many inquisitive and suspicious gazes being tossed at her.
Lumena Town Square Outside was worse. The magic of the reapers crawled along her skin like a swarm of centipedes and the wind chill cut through her long sleeved shirt and jeans like they weren't even there. Not to mention there seemed to be even more people milling about out in the square than there were in the lounge. "Yē lōga pāgala hō rahē haiṁ! (These people are mad!)" She thought, and even in her head her voice sounded like her teeth were chattering from the cold. Again, Chanda stared at her feet like they were the most interesting things in the world and made her way to the temple just on the outskirts of the square. It was a non-denominational, stone temple meant for worshippers of all faiths as well as those who found themselves just needing a quiet place to embrace their spirituality. And while she would have preferred a temple dedicated solely to the Goddess, her faith was not as widespread as some others and so she humbly accepted what ever she could receive, especially in trying moments such as these.
Lumena Temple The door to the temple opened with a loud rush of wind and an equally loud yelp. "Arē yāra! (s**t!)" Chanda fought to close the heavy door and keep what little warmth the stone temple had inside it and the wind fiercely fought back to steal it away.

Lumena Town Square
Kalypso had never been to Lumena Town Square. The only place she had ever ventured to was the marketplace. She looked around at all the different people she saw. She also saw that there some reapers walking around the square and that made her feel a little safe. She just wished they would stop looking her over the way they did.
She probably shouldn't have come at all She wasn't sure if the rumor she heard about having a partner for the ball was true but she hoped it wasn't. She knew she would spend half the night in a corner by herself. She looked around the square and hoped to see a familar face. She saw one, the mononoke from last night. He was with a girl with brown hair who reminded Kalypso of the season. "She looks autumny." If that was even a word.

Lumena: The skies
Perenna didn't really understand the commotion between all these people; what was so important about getting 'dolled' up and going to a ball? She new her parents had already set something up for her so they could show her off even more, but at least for now, she wanted to avoid that and all the people associated.
As she darted from shadow to shadow in her small Phoenix form, Perenna kept looking for somewhere to be, somewhere to land and just... Be alone. Be at peace! Everywhere she darted she would hear excited chatting and it seemed to be everywhere. Where would or could a poor girl go just to be able to think within her own mind without the sounds of all the bustling disturbing her?
She perched on a shadowed branch of a large tree. Perenna hoped that no one can see her, especially her family who was probably part of the crowd looking for her. The little bird sighed and looked. There seemed to be an area that were void of people. "Probably no festivities there..." It looked like a pleasing place to be to relax for a few hours before having to be dressed up.
Lumena: Temple
As Perenna landed on a low branch and changed back into her human form, she heard a 'yelp' and then some strange phrases in a language she didn't understand. She stayed in the shadows as she moved towards a window that looked into the temple.
Her hair billowed in the wind as she walked. "Why don't I just change into a bird again... So much easier..." She knew, however, with the wind, it would of been extremely hard to fly. Using both hands, she gathered her hair into a bundle and tried to keep the wind from messing it up again -- it would definitely be a dead giveaway that she was there.
She got down onto her knees at the window and noticed another witchling inside, whom also seemed to be a Mononoke, one with ears and a tail. Perenna had kept to herself so much that she was not used to seeing others like her, but she stayed where she was, looking in, hoping that the girl wouldn't spot her. Perenna was unaware if she would hurt her or not... And she was pretty sure a feline-type Mononoke would have no problem catching a small bird like her...

Time had slowed down, as she stumbled. Cedar couldn't help but chuckle to herself, and a hand caughther arm, and then another her back. Blinking a couple times, she had expected to fall to the ground but now he was almost suspended in the air. She followed the arms to the body to the face. The witchling that bumped into her had kept her from falling. "Ah.. Yes! Thanks to you. I was expecting to fall and take alteast two other people with me." She laughed, straigthening herself up and getting her footing.
Cedar glanced back over to the direction she was going, and then turned her attention back to the boy. "You have great reflexes." She commented, hoping it wasn't to strange. She had actually never know a mononoke.
And as she looked over the boys shoulder she say another female that seemed like she reconized the boy. "Is that a friend of yours?" She asked, nodding toward the girl with the eye patch.
