A sudden smack and Julian's eyes were wide open again, gold meeting gold as he stared at Sin. He almost didn't hear what she said, he could hear the water, it was rising higher. The feeling of being immersed, dragged down into the depths by his cumbersome wings washed over him, trying to drown him in a completely different sense. Fear was overriding his logic. The water was rising and soon he would be beneath it with no one there to save him, not like last time. Michel wasn't there.
Puzzle. Solve the puzzle and the water would stop. That was what Sin said. Or, that's what he told himself she said. He needed to feel like that was the way out, that it would stop the water and they'd be free.
With trembling hands, he took the paper and shook as he looked at it.
A moment later he let out sound that was partly a laugh and almost partly a sob.
"Oh, damn, it's just... It's just a... Give me the pen, quick" he replied, lightly taking the pen and scribbling in the symbols.
"Please let this get us out..." he whispered, handing the puzzle back to Sin with a shaking hand.

A loud click echoes through the well, followed by the sound of stone grinding against stone. Could it be that a door had opened?! Something large and red falls from above, landing in the water with a huge splash. Name: Big Bertha HP: 50/50 Special: 1d20 Big Bertha swims around, trying to decide who gets to be her next meal as the water continues to rise. The OOC Roll 1-20 sided die. If roll within 3 of 13 (10-16) then your character has been targeted by the boss! If you're unlucky enough to roll a 13, then it's dinner time for Bertha, your student just got eated-up and must respawn back at the hub.

For a moment, Julian thought they were saved. For a moment, he had hope, his spirits rose. But as many would learn in their lives, hope was a fickle little b*****d.
He flinched back when the form hit the water, sending it over them, but he readied himself nonetheless with a hiss of displeasure.
"Why can't it ever just be solve a puzzle and go home?" The words came out among the hiss, angry and clear. And yet, though he sounded frustrated and clear-headed now, he still shook for the water continued to rise. His hands trembled even as he held them up, fingers curved as he brandished his sharp claws, ready to attack the fish moving in the water.

Sin breathed a too early sigh of relief when she heard the sound of stones grinding against one another. She had started to look for a door, but then came the fish...a very big fish. She bit her lip and moved closer to Julian and Alcie as it swam about.
She almost laughed at Julian's words, yeah that would be too easy. "It's just a fish..." She finally said, but she knew better...last time it had been just a tree, just a toy, just an island, nothing was ever really harmless.

Okay. Maybe the puzzle wasn't such a great idea... But it's not like they had another way out. Staring at the fish, Alcyone really wasn't fazed too much because it was just a really... big... fish. Though she could still feel her heart beginning to race and the adrenaline began rushing through her body.
There were a lot of things going on in front of her. The water was still rising and now there was this fish swimming around. It wasn't until a few seconds later when she realized that the fish was looking straight at her. Uh oh. Alcyone stood in a defensive position and tried staring down the fish. "Hey bring it on." Her fear had momentarily disappeared as she prepared for a battle with this fish.

The large fish's attention zeroes in on Alcyone. It pauses in the water and readies it's charge. It races toward her, mouth gaping wide! The OOC Chickie: Roll 1 8-sided die, if you manage to roll an eight, Alycone just escapes, but Bertha will try again. Anything less and...DUN DUN DUN. Bertha makes a tasty snack of her! (Good luck...because...yeah, that's a toughie.)

Alcyone waited for a second as the fish rushed towards her and was going to jump out of the way at the last second. She didn't know exactly how fast the fish was going to be moving until it was too late. One moment the fish was rushing at her and then everything went dark.
[Alcie EATED and will spawn in the hub?]

With Alcy as a tragic piece of bait, Bertha is now wide open for a round of attacks! The OOC You may use your normal or FEAR attack against once against Bertha before she starts looking for the second course!

Horrified, that's how Sin felt as she watched that huge fish just swallow her friend whole! Oh sweet Jack, they had to save Alcie! She was gonna cut that thing into fishsticks!
She had learned quite a bit since her first field trip, like not to wear heels and how they made poor weapons. She now wore boots and proceeded to kick that fish! For Alcie!
Damage: 7-6 = 1dmg

"Alcie!" Julian screeched at the water demoness was eaten by the giant fish. Scared out of his mind as he was, he knew what would happen if he just stood there staring. He doubted the fish would be done before it devoured all three of them. And he wouldn't just let it eat Alcie or Sin, he was supposed to be... What was he supposed to be doing? He wasn't a protector, not at all. He wasn't strong or brave.
But when push comes to shove, you do what you can.
Gold eyes wide to make sure he saw exactly where he needed to go, he lunged at the fish, his claws and talons ready to tear, wings spread to give him some lift into the air.
[Damage :: 7 - 6 = 1]
((Here is Julian's FEAR for future reference. Also, since it is a sound attack, kind of an area attack, would it hurt Sin as well?
FEAR Ability: Screech
Julian can let out a loud, high-pitched screech to either cause pain or at the very least distract his opponent. It is more powerful than just a loud screech sound he can make, but sometimes it simply doesn't come out as strong as it should, especially since he doesn't have much practice at it. He cannot talk well for a little while after-wards.))

Bertha shook off the tiny attacks with barely a wince, and started to look around, hungrier than ever. Name: Big Bertha HP: 48/50 Special: 1d20 The OOC Roll 1-20 sided die. If roll within 3 of 11 (8-14) then your character has been targeted by the boss! If you're unlucky enough to roll an 11, then it's dinner time for Bertha, your student just got eated-up and must respawn back at the hub. Reeshie: while friendly fire is always on, you'd have to target sin to hit her. If you haven't yet, you should take a look here and here, before using a FEAR attack.

Julian moved back to the wall after his attack glanced off the fish.
"Sin, you okay?" he called, not taking his eyes off of the aquatic menace. The water was getting higher still and it was a pure miracle that he wasn't freaking out. Then again, it was hard to pay attention to that when there was a huge fish eating them up.

Sadly, Bertha totally didn't notice the two students. She spent several long moments wondering if this was the wrong group. She thought the ninja team was elsewhere. Once again, she was wide-open for another round of attacks!
