"Hmm..."

Azriel was at the library counter by now, filling out the paperwork to obtain a pass to check out books, as ordered by the librarian at the counter. She was now at the part that asked her to specify whether she wanted to pay a monthly, quarterly, bi-annual, or yearly fee. And she was pondering the question for quite a bit. She wasn't sure how long she was going to "need" this book.

While the odd-winged girl looked thoughtful, the librarian waiting for her yawned idly, and his eyes began to wander elsewhere. Suddenly, he caught a twitch of something moving between his hands, which were set flat upon some blank papers behind the counter. The movement came from a pen. And it was...rising to stand on its point? He subtly moved to grasp at it, but it avoided his hand. His eyes widened, and he was growing quite alarmed, but he did not make much of a sound because his throat had become paralyzed from fear. The most he made was a bit of a squeak, which Azriel didn't notice.

The pen began to write, making out a message:

Just let her have it.

The librarian slowly looked up at Azriel, his bottom lip trembling; he saw that she was still focused on the paperwork. And just as slowly, he looked back down at the pen.

Yes, her. Give her no trouble, or I just may continue to haunt you~

Now, the librarian was finding it in him to make a noise. "Aaaa...aaaa...AAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!" He backed away from his side of the counter and against the wall, his fright written on his face.

His sudden outcry made Azriel jolt in surprise. "Wh-whoa! Is something the matter, sir??"

"J-j-j-just take it!!!"

"Wha...?" She looked at the book, then back at the librarian. "Thi---ah...are you sure?" sweatdrop

"Absolutely, just return it whenever you wish!" gonk

"Uh...well...if you say so..." sweatdrop

The people nearby were staring at the commotion, which made Azriel feel a bit nervous. She just gave them a quick glance, shrugged, looked down at the floor, and began to walk away from the scene, with the book in her arms.

With that over with, she tried to get back to what she was originally doing. And that was heading over to the bulletin board where job requests were posted.

Lyon had came to a stop right out side the entrance to Sybak and stretched his arms out in front of him for a few seconds working out the kinks from walking from the Gaoracchia forest. The relativity young human had no knowledge what was going on at the town today but found out real quick as soon as he made his way in. With his hand on a firm grip on his blade sheath he made his way through the festival.

He had stopped to ask a few people directions to the job board. That was his life line on staying alive. On his trip here he was praying he would have an escort job but, has his luck would have it, no one was heading this way.

A kind stranger pointed Lyon in the general direction towards the job board, how some one who lived in a town not know where something was located was strange but he did have a good sense of direction especially in terms of memory.

He followed the directions give to him and came to the job board. There was a female wingfolk. There was one major difference between her and the ones had had met. Her wings were different, one was a normal like wing the other looked of a more evil origin. This caused the human to stop in place, a good distance behind her and to her left, and stare trying to process how that could happen. It continued for about ten seconds before he just shrugged the idea off and moved towards the job board. He was not going to judge her based off that; He had met to a few people who looked like they would be trouble but turned out to be nice and the other way around.

Lyon began scanning the board firstly looking at the pay out of the job because at this particular moment in time he was a little bit short on gald. There were more jobs over by the side of the Wingfolke female that he could not read the price from the angle he was at. Rather than to make space for him self so he could read he asked in a polite as possible manner. "Pardon me for intruding, but are there any jobs that you can see that are paying out a decant amount of gald. I'm kind of short changed at the moment."

His stomach had growled afterwards reminding him that he did need to eat, seeing has the last time he ate was easily over a day ago.

Colette's blue eyes widen a bit in surprise when Rhone walked in. His appearance was rather unusual, but she wasn't the type to judge. She would give a friendly smile to him. "Like Lloyd said, I'm Colette." She said.

Eduardo returned Sirea's handshake. His hands, oddly enough, also seemed clawed. Needless to say, as usual, he was unfazed.
"I'm Eduardo 'The Wise and Pretty Freakin' Fancy' Drespada, lab assistant extraordinaire. Because the sidekicks are the really cool ones! My real middle name's Brian, if you want to know..."
He scratched his head. "Anyway, like I said, I'm not a full-blown science dude. However, I could try, what with all this huge assembly business. What do you need help with?"

Azriel was intently scanning her eyes over the bulletin board when she heard someone trying to speak to her. In all truth, she wasn't really paying attention to payouts right now. Rather...something specific. A hint that might show her why she's had the occasional mercenary go after her lately. So far, she didn't find any such offer.

She turned her head in the direction of the voice, finding a man who seemed just a little over her age. "Hmm? Oh, I guess that depends on your definition of 'decent'. In any case, apologies for obstructing the view. Here, have a look." She smiled and stepped back, making way for the man, and moved toward the other side, which she hadn't really checked out yet.

"Well... I'd say enough that I can get some food and NOT sleep in a tree or someones roof tonight. Oh, and some change can't forget about that." Lyon said with a cheery smile. The wingfolk woman moved to the side enough for Lyon to shimmy over and look at the jobs. "Thank you very much." Moving over enough he scanned up and down again. Ahhh....Man nothing here really worth it. A small depressed groan-sigh transition followed.

That would be his luck. Venture all the way through a forest, nearly get killed, and arrive in a town with no work. "Lovely... Um, you would not happen to know anyone in particular I could get work from around here would you?"

Ilene was about to shake Sirea's hand when once again the man named Eduardo intervened and shook hands with Sirea. This guy is something else, she thought slightly annoyed that he came in again after turning away. "I'm Ilene Florence, nice too meet you Sirea. You too, Mister "Eddy" Drespada." she withheld the other name she wanted to call him which was Bigshot or Windbag, but the last thing she needed at the moment was another person to dislike her. Ilene then noticed how both of these people's nails looked sharp, "Wow, looks like both of you could use a manicure." sweatdrop She meant what she said last as a joke.

Sirea couldn't help but chuckle at Eduardo as he introduced himself. He's got claws as well. Does that mean that he's cursed like me? She thought to herself as she examined Eduardo's hand. "It's pleasure to meet you, Ed. And to you as well, Ilene." She said with a smile. Her fox ears twitch from within her hood after hearing Ilene's comment. She would look at her own hands for a moment then looked back to Ilene. "A manicure? I haven't even thought of that." She said with a chuckle before turning her attention back to Eduardo. "Well, you see...I'm looking for information in regards about an 'evil curse'."

Rhone scanned both Lloyd and Colette, noticing Colette's surprise and chuckling to himself. He then shakes Lloyd's hand and grins at him.
"I've gotten Zelos to tell me quite a few details about your adventures a hundred years ago. Took a few drinks, though. Anyway, I must say I'm very impressed with ya. World needs some heroes. I'm very happy to have you on board with my idea."
He lets go of Lloyd's hand and bows to Colette.
"And the chosen of Sylverant, it's an honor to meet you. You're just as responsible for fixing the world and giving me twice the places to travel to as Lloyd is. I greatly appreciate it. I happened to notice your reaction when I walked in. I appreciate you not er....freaking out about it. I'm actually an elf. Just...er...well, I'm sure we'll see enough of each other that I'll be able to tell you and Lloyd what happened."
"Now that you're here...if anyone's got any questions, we'll do our best to answer them."
Rhone walks over to Zelos and stands next to him, his arms crossed over his chest and a sly smirk on his face.
"Open floor, people. Do yer worst!"

"Ha, Ed. Eddy. That's a new one." Using his non-manicured hands, he rubbed his chin a bit.
"An 'evil curse'? What, are you one of those unhappy lycanthrope types?" He had met a few of those in his time. "Uh... A curse of a living, twitching hood? A curse of causing everything you see that is made from pigs to explode? No, that would be just too evil, even for evildoers!"

"But sleeping in trees is cost-efficient," User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. Azriel returned half-jokingly, looking back to Lyon for a moment. She did do such, partly because she didn't have a problem with it.

His disappointment garnered a curious look from her. "I'm sorry, I'm afraid I don't have connections like that... But might I suggest taking up more than one request? If they're fairly simple, they don't tire you out, and it all adds up, really."
PostPosted: Sun Oct 30, 2011 5:38 pm

"Yes that is true, but you can only sleep IN trees so many times before your back starts going funny," A small bit of wisdom figured out in his time. Azriel then suggested that he take multiple smaller simple requests. In truth that was a good idea if he was going to be staying in the town for a longer period of time. Problem was that he came here specifically looking for some work with the festival and all. He figured there would be convoy requests from merchants galore and of course there were none. And seeing as she did not have any knowledge like that Lyon was stuck in a rut once again.

"Well thank you for letting me... Actually, would there be any place near here, like ruins, I could search and make some loose change." Even in his predicament he was not going to let him self give in to the smaller jobs. And besides searching ruins was always fun for him. There was so much knowledge for him to learn... Until he gets him self lost.

Sirea tilted her head slightly from hearing Eduardo's question about if she was the 'unhappy lycanthrope' type. "No, nothing of the sort I can assure you. I'm not one of those...creatures." She said, shaking her head a bit. Though it was a lie. She was unsure on how he and Ilene would reaction if they were to know what she was. Though she had noticed on how unfazed Eduardo was. He knew what I was? She asked herself. "You can say that I'm kinda doing research on them and their 'evil curse' as everybody called it." She then blink in confusion when he mentioned about a living hood. "A living, twitching hood?"

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"I admit your appearance is rather unusual, Rhone, but one shouldn't judge a book by its cover." Colette said with a smile. She was rather curious on what happened to him, but she knew he'll explain when the time is right. After watching him stand next to Zelos, she took a moment to think. "So your exsphere was the start of this research, Rhone?"
"Well sure, but you can get creative and piece together a hammock, and hang it from a branch or two." User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. In the past, she had seen some of those things hanging between the palm trees beachside at Altamira, and from then on, thought it'd be nifty to have one of her own. It was an option she was forced to figure out eventually, after...something...made it become too risky for her to try staying in inns.
At his next inquiry, she turned a stare down at the floor for a bit, thinking. "Hmm...the Temple of Lightning is actually quite far...ah! If I remember correctly...southwest from this city is that mausoleum of an ancient clan of alchemists..." Looking back to him, she made a sheepish expression while scratching the back of her head. "I forget the name of that clan, however." sweatdrop
Exploding pork products? Ilene stood up and lightly placed the book she was reading on top of Seria's head, "He means up here, I originally thought my eyes were playing tricks on me at first, that is until Eddy here mention it. Also don't call those people, "creatures" around me. I happen to take offence to that, in place of some of the people I know." she removed her book and smiled.
