He gave a slight chuckle. "I've had my eye on it all along.. but it doesn't mean my vision was clear.. I can at least say I plan not to let it get too clouded again." He smiled and looked of the direction his daughter had headed.
Idonea looked back and bit the fish in half. Setting half of it on her back, she offered Binky half her fish before eating her own half. It was a pleasant snack and one she would happily share with her familiar.
Binky patted Nea on the nose before declining the half of fish. Smiling at the raven she nodded. it wasn't too big but.. it would do. "Thanks." SHe handed what was left of the fish bit in half back to Nea who ate it without so much as a shrug.

Vei hummed and looked off into the wood. "Suppose they found something else to munch on." She muttered. "Shall I retrieve the mare and her... Colorful... oversized, winged Ra-odent?" She shared much the same opinion as this on the raven, but just couldn't get rid of that one.
Shenka gave a birdy grin and flipped the squirming fish toward the raccoon, trusting her to catch the veritable meal. It may not have been large, but it was certainly lively.

Shilo shook his head lightly. "She's fine.. She's often off on her own.. I just.. worry some times. The curse of being a parent I suppose." He offered a warm smile and brought his attention back to Vei.
Binky caught the small fish and with an almost impish giggle, she set to eating ti. There was something almost disturbing in the way she picked it's eyes out of the still wiggling head and ate them first before setting in the eat what was in the skull before finally finishing the fish off.

"I... Suppose..." Vei said, having no experience on the matter, and not even experience on it with her own parents. "You'll want to get on the move soon to try to spot your mare, now that you know where you're looking and what for, hmmh?"
The raven grinned up at the pair and perched on a branch to watch, unperturbed by the raccoon's mannerisms. "Ah, good. You know which is the best part of the fish, hmm?" He chirrupped at the large rodential beast. He eyed the mare gently for a moment. "You seem to have enjoyed your meal quite well today, and a nap as well. Don't sleep so brilliantly at night?" He had momentarily forgotten the mare to be deaf, and turned his beak to the coon for a translation when he remembered.

Shilo heaved a small sigh. "I think... I'll be making my way closer to the herd grounds with Nea.. check in and see if the leader's daughter has had any word before I set off some more.. And if the frost comes too soon.. then my search will have to hold off till after spring returns.." He still had yet to help the herd gather provisions and stock pile grass and other goods so they wouldn't have to eat tree bark all winter long.
Idonea looked towards Binky who was finishing up her fish. Her left ear canted to the side as she flashed Binky a curious look.
Binky chuckled lightly and nodded to the raven before turning her head to Nea. She relayed the message carefully mixing words with paw signals as best as she could.
Idonea blinked a bit and finally offered a small smile. "I sleep... but not usually the full night." She whispered. "I don't go to sleep till well after the moon's risen.. too busy looking out from the hill after the sun's set." Her eyes held a hint of hurt though it mingled with a happiness. She pined over some one much like her father pined. Though she still lacked the confidence in herself that the other might actually like her in return.

Vei nodded and looked into the woods. "Sounds like a plan, then." Her voice began to grow slightly monotone; she'd never much liked the topic of other mares, and really had no clue why. Her mother had, when she was little, once said it was an issue of jealousy, that the little princess inside wanted to be the center of everyone's attention. She was probably right.
The raven gave a stout nod and cawed roughly, waggling one of his long talons at her. "You should get more sleep than that. It's not good for you." He cawed his rough laughter, looking over at Binky. "Besides, when whatever it is you're waiting for finally shows up, you'll be too tired to spend any time with them. Wouldn't want something as bad as that to happen, would you?"

Shilo nodded. "Thanks.. for talking.. I can see it's a bit of a dry subject.. And usually I'm not so. melodramatic. I wish you well in your endeavors. And who knows.. in time you too might just understand the plights a little bit. though I hope you never have to endear pining over another who's turned up... missing." His withers flickered some and he turned and headed towards the trees Idonea and binky had disappeared to.
Binky once more relayed the message and patted her on the head some. "You'd think she's listen to me when I say my pets need sleep..." He gave a small sigh and shook her head.
Idonea smiled some. "He'll come back.. he promised... and.. then we'll go adventuring together like I promised.. till then.. I'll just watch the sun set." She smiled fondly thinking back on the hilltop the last time she'd seen Cedric.

Vei tilted a brow at him. "The 'dry' part of the subject isn't the part you think it is..." she muttered, sighing, and shrugging. She sucked in a deep breath before letting out a surprising bellow, calling the crow back in a less than polite manner. "SHENKA! GET YOUR FEATHERED BUTT BACK HERE!" She growled out.
Deeper inside the forest, Shenka stared towards the sound accusingly, squawking in protest at the manner the words were spoken. "Crazy mare..." He snorted. "I suppose it's time we head back then." He fluttered over in front of Idonea and latched his talons onto her muzzle for a moment, leaning over to peer into her eye with his beady one. "Get. Some. Sleep. Once in a while." He barked, before patting her bangs and hopping off the mare's muzzle. "Shall we?"

Shilo didn't even arch a brow in surprise at the bellow. He'd heard smaller mares with as big a bellow as they came when they needed it so the surprise was lacking when another mare did so. Not that it worried him, though her tone seemed a little less that pleasant this time. Some where along the line their conversation had gotten.. uncomfortable. Sighing, he waited entered the treeline and disappeared from view in the shade and brush.
Binky chuckled lightly. "Yeah.. the day she listens to that argument is the day my pink rings turn yellow." She snickered knowing just how hard headed the mare could be. Still she patted Nea and pointed to follow. If the other mare was calling her bird back, it must mean it was time to go now.
Nea blinked at the beady eye of the raven and watched him fly off. upon being patted and directed by binky, she started towards where they'd been before hand only to meet up with her father along the way. Flashing him a lopsided grin, she nodded her head to the direction of home and began to walk that way without waiting for any conversation.

Shenka perched on a branch for the reunion, smiling down at the handsome, oversized stallion, before giving a soft, genial bow. "I'm going to have to imagine Vei's tongue grew sharp with her own social ingratiations... Don't take it personally. She... Has her own idea how a conversation with any stallion should go." He glanced towards the entrance to the forest, where the orange mare waited.
"She, uh... Spent a lot of time growing up on her own. I don't know the exact details, but she was apparently less than popular as a foal." He sighed and shrugged helplessly. "I suppose I'm hoping I can change that attitude, but... I suspect it will take a stallion with the same mindset she occupies to manage that..."
He gave a low-bent bow, winking up at the mare before picking himself up. "Much luck in your endeavors." Another bellow came from the edge of the woods, the irate mare snarling through her yelling, almost, and irate cawing erupted from the raven before he fluttered from his branch to go and nag at the nag nagging at him through her bellows and snarls

Shilo Chuckled lightly. "It wasn't as unpleasant a conversation as I've had in the past." He admitted. When the raven flew away, he looked after Idonea who'd left without waiting and sighed before following after her.~Fin~
