Yes! I speak cantonese and the way it's pronounced is sort of like 'goon yum' or sometimes 'goon yum poe sat'. I dunno what she does but I think she is Buddha's right hand woman and she's usually found sitting on a lily of some sort, holding a piece of grass and a vase.

It's probably quite a good idea to drop history for AS and A level as it is really hard in comparison to some of the other subjects. The syllabus is just huge and you have to learn two separate bits of history at the same time. Most of the guys at my school fared pretty poorly in the AS history exams. And there were only a few people who got As.

*nod* 3nodding Yum, Goon Yam Po Sat.... That's the one. 3nodding And yesh, that was her job or something... Do you know the story goes that she was once a guy, a prince at that, and was engaged or something?? Now he's a female goddess. xd

Well, that's good then! I ain't taking l'histoire! mrgreen I'm am still doing it for GCSE though. sweatdrop
Yeh I think I heard that she was a he when he was on earth or something lol. Very confusing indeed.

History isn't too bad for GCSE though, I got an A - no revision haha. So you should be fine. wink

History?! I want to learn history, but we are learning about japan and the world wars and other things that relates to it.
i'm in american history, which is like world history in the beginning but gets more into americans towards the middle.

Oh, I see.

and isn't history and social studies basically the same thing?

Not really. History is something you can learn in Social Studies. But the grade/year I'm in does not involve history, until later on..
so i guess that means you're in middle school? eek ... rofl

Um, no. sweatdrop ..

@Toki: Ew, milk it sounds wrong. lol ..

I didn't find it offensive. I just thought that manga and anime were both japanese things and that manga isn't really made by many chinese people.

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't this right?

Anime = japanese animation
Manga = japanese comics

I just don't see where the chinese come in at all.

Toki's right, Anime is basically Japanese Animation and Manga is Japanese comics.

China doesn't have a large native comic or animation industry; all of the materials it produces are basically imported from Japan.
