Migh' as well, he responded casually as he nipped the tip of Elphie's ear before his paws wearily picked up the pace again. Get it ova' with...eh believe yeh if yeh say it's not far.
The space between the two was closer than it had been the entire trip, perhaps not intentional....but most likely it was. Privately, Neka was somewhat surprised at the sudden shows of affection, but he wasn't at all unhappy about it. He'd always had a liking for the brown shewolf, but as far as he knew they stood on the grounds of friendship. Nothing more, nothing less.

Elphie padded after, catching up after a couple paces to be close at his side. A muscle in her neck twinged gently in self-consciousness. She knew her attention wasn't going unnoticed. The shewolf paused in her affectionate actions now, almost as if they hadn't happened. There would be plenty of time for hinting later, and Elphaba wasn't a wolf who knew how to overwhelm with fondness. Better any attachments be communicated over a longer periods of time. Still, something in the female's mind couldn't help but taunt: But last time..
As her weary muscles fell into gear for their final leg of the trip Elphie focused her sight on the horizon. Soon she would be home with friends; with family. Despite her fatigue, the spark of excitement still dwindled inside of her. Now Neka might be part of this family too.

The male loped silently at her side, feeling a sense of impending uncertainty taking hold on his thoughts. He'd not been with a pack since his youth...and these were wolves he'd never met. Elphie had assured him things would be fine, but still. His brows knit at these plaguing thoughts but he didn't voice them.
Instead he too forced himself to watch ahead, keeping an eye out for signs of danger as his paws drummed the earth once again in time to Elphaba's.

(( xD When they get to the pack I dunno if they'll have much of a welcoming comittee. The thread seems lost in time or something. ))
Unaware to the majority of Neka's feeling Elphie gave a speculative 'Mmm' once more. "Lets see," She muttered, half to herself and half to the other wolf. "Is there anyone I haven't told you about? Selia, Devvyl, a few others, a couple pups we picked up--" Though she realized they were probably adolescnets by now, they would remain young in Elphie's memory until she saw them. "Oh--Have I mentioned Soul is with us?" She wuffed in a slightly triumphant tone, knowing that Neka had met the fox-colored female.
The female felt a small bit of anxiety at Neka's small, consternated frown. She fluffed hersalf as she walked, almost in an imperious tone. Well. She would just have to find a way to make it go away. She racked her brain for other bits of information that might be welcomed.

Neka nodded slowly at the news of Soul, having remembered the fox colored femmy vaguely.
Eh'll be alrigh...just have ta get use to bein' not so alone, eh guess.

Elphie gave the other a warm smile, but said nothing more on the topic, content that if Neka could do his part as he said, her pack could pull through. As the ground changed for the last time under the wolves' paws, becoming a mix of granite and dirt with small to large flat boulders and a few sparse trees, Elphie alighted on one broader rock, her arched tail wagging proudly, her vision honed on the thick copse of deciduous trees ahead.
"You can see now, just through those trees, the stream. It will lead us home!" The weighted word was out of her mouth before she could stop it, and so she kept her expression neutral, a deadpan.

Neka's ears drew forward in anticipation, finding himself rather interested now in seeing what this place was like...what these wolves she liked so much where like. He hardly reacted to the word of "home", finding such a word to not really be in his vocabulary, and thus did not approve nor disapprove of it's useage.

Elphie hesitated a moment more on her vantage point, a thrum of contentment starting in her throat impulsively. She tossed back her head and howled her return through black lips, her voice rising and falling up the scale, earthy and gravelly, suited to this land. The female leapt off the rock and trotted swiftly to Neka's side. As the two passed a copse of trees, Elphie sighted the densites as the ground began to level out. The stream that had followed the two brown wolves their entire journey burbled ahead of them leading their way, and Elphaba padded along its bank, heading directly towards the meeting place. "Welcome to my packlands," She wuffed to Neka with a wolfish grin, a quiet thrill pulsing through her veins.
