"Hmm.. doesn't necessarily mean you can't get used to having people around and such," Jericho said. He could be wrong, but it sounded like Riyo mainly wasn't used to having company. While she said she didn't like getting in close contact, he wouldn't be surprised if she eventually opened up somewhere down to line to someone.
Looking at the door as it opened up, his eyes lit up as he could smell the pizzas hot and fresh. Grinning, he took the pizza and opened it up. By Jack this looked amazing.
He was temporarily distracted by the tantalizing meal, looking over at Riyo.
"Well.. cooking isn't all that useful for the most part yes," he chuckled,"Affection... well I guess that depends."
Pausing at her question, the dragon's memory flashed to several different moments on the island. For a split second, he had a distant look as he recalled several horrors there. It probably wasn't what Riyo was asking exactly, but that was what came to mind.
"Yeah.. I have."

"I guess..." A noncommittal answer seemed appropriate, considering Riyo couldn't imagine herself being so close to somebody. Relying on somebody... It just seemed impossible from where she stood.
Removing a piece of anchovy and meat pizza from her box, she licked her lips before taking a bite. After chewing for a moment, the ghoul looked back at Jericho as he answered her question.
... Had she stepped on his toes? Opening her mouth to speak, she wanted to question him on what it was, but remembered something important. If the shoe was on the other foot, the dragon probably wouldn't ask. He would accept the fact that she'd given him a simple answer and let her elaborate if she wanted. At that, she closed her mouth and rethought her words... Even if she was painfully curious. "Y-you don't have to tell me about it. We can change the subject."

Taking a piece of pizza, he munched on it quietly before looking at Riyo, frowning. Would it be better to tell her? One one hand, ignorance was bliss, but on the other.. knowing is half the battle.
"Actually... it's probably better if you know," he said, looking a little uncomfortable, "Since it has to do with things that doesn't just affect myself."
"A few months back, there was a schoolwide field trip to this one island," he started, "It was no vacation spot though. The fog on that island cause horrible hallucinations and the people that lived there... they looked like Reapers and even wielded weapons. But these guys were no Reapers. Their weapons.. didn't really cause pain. Getting hit by them left you feeling drained."
Frowning, he shook his head.
"That wasn't it. There were a few other dangers and by the end, most of us had gotten killed one way or another, mostly in ways we wouldn't be able to stop. We managed to respawn and stuff but.. something gives me the feeling this isn't over yet."

Jericho's first statement left Riyo with confusion written all over her face. Better for her to know? What in the hell could that possibly mean?
Intently, she listened to his story as she tried to eat her pizza, stopping mid-bite when the word 'killed' left Jericho's mouth. "W-what?" The confusion turned into disbelief, the thought that such a thing could happen to students... Frightening her a little.
"W-why would they attack you?" She immediately asked, setting down her piece of pizza in favor of doing what she did best: asking questions. "What possessed the school to take you there? What was the point in all of that and... Why don't you think it's over?"

"I... don't really know why they attacked," Jericho admitted, "As for why we were there, Nox had disappeared a few months prior. We didn't know why we went originally but as we spent time there, it was clear it was a rescue mission."
Poking at his pizza a bit, he let out a sigh.
"As for that last bit... Well not long after coming back, Hellma held an assembly, warning us of these not-reapers. I dunno. I just don't think she'd hold that if the threat was completely gone. "
That wasn't the complete truth, and there was more to it, such as what Riley had told him, but he swore to keep that under wraps.

What an interesting and horrifying turn of events. "Wow." She mumbled, ears falling back against her head. "That's... Unbelievable. I mean- Not that I don't believe you... I just..."
Twiddling her fingers, she tried to think of the right words to say. "You get so caught up in your little bubble, the thought never crosses your mind that something completely unexpected could happen at any moment and you could very well end up dead." Riyo had a feeling that's probably what Jericho thought after the event. That's not what really bothered her though. The thing that got under her skin was the fact that this could very well happen again... And she might get caught up in it. Just for being at the school.
"Well, that's a lot to swallow." The ghoul admitted, leaning back and closing her pizza box. "Were you scared?" She asked meekly, trying to imagine how the dragon would've felt in that situation.

"Yeah no kidding. It's hard to think that anything could happen but that just showed that.. anything really can. And chances are that it'll be out of our power to do much other than go with it and try to get by. That and to try and improve as much as possible to try and be ready if anything crazy happens again, " Jericho said grimly. With a sort of sigh, he went to try and continue eating some more.
"To be honest? At times I was. A lot of us were. But being scared alone doesn't really say much. I wanted to try and make sure that my friends and I got through in one piece, despite it," he said, pausing to chuckle weakly, "That... didn't quite work out."
After all, Mal, Riley, and himself ended up in several pieces.

Riyo frowned as Jericho recalled the fearful moments of the island, trying to picture the dragon in such a terrible predicament... Even worse when he admitted failing to save his friends.
That feeling must've been terrible...
Glancing over at the dragon, Riyo hesitantly tried to give him a reassuring pat on the shoulder. "I'm sure you did all you could... And that you'll be able to do more next time." Though if put in his position, no words could really do the situation justice.

Jericho nodded slowly to Riyo.
"We're doing what we can. We have gotten stronger since then but one has to wonder if that's enough. That experience showed me that raw power alone isn't really enough for everything," he frowned.
Shaking his head now, he grinned weakly.
"Next time, I hope things will turn out differently. But.. that's enough of that. It's.. kinda a heavy topic to keep around for long."

No. He was right. Raw power alone could hurt the just as easily as help if there wasn't some form of strategy or disciple behind it... But strategy wasn't enough alone either. Riyo could think of ten different ways to move a really heavy rock, but if she didn't have the means to do it, all the planning didn't really matter.
"Okay..." The serious talk was starting to really get her down... Lower than she usually felt, somehow.
"Where to next?" The driver asked after he'd waited for their conversation to finish up. Interrupting could hurt his chances for tips, after all.
"I guess back to the dorms.. Unless you want to go somewhere?" Riyo turned up to look at Jericho, wondering if he just wanted to go back to his dorm after the fiasco at the restaurant and depressing conversational piece.

Letting out a sigh, Jericho glanced to the driver, then to Riyo.
"Heading back sounds fine to me," he nodded. There wasn't really any place he had in mind for where they could go from here. Looking down at his half-eaten pizza now, he went and ate away at what was left of it. Though, most likely, he'd have to save a bit for later whenever his appetite struck back up.

It was a semi-silent drive home, save the nibbling of pizza. The whole conversation had taken away some of the ghoul's appetite. The gears of her mind were cranking furiously at the idea of non-reapers and their goal in attacking students. Were they a completely new species or something? did that happen? Her mind was hungry for answers, unlike her stomach...
The limo finally pulled up to their destination and slowed to a stop, it seemed that the limo driver was on top of things as he quickly ran out to open the door for the two before Riyo could. She didn't thank him, as usual.
Turning around, she waited for Jericho to get out so she could pay the limo driver and they could be on their way.

During the ride back, Jericho was slowly picking away at his pizza. Once they arrived, he boxed the rest of his food, then started to make his way out of the limo. However, being a little distracted now, he didn't pay as much attention as he should have. His large wings got caught inside, which caused the dragon to fumble and tumble right onto Riyo.

"Watch- AAAAH!" Riyo shouted as she went tumbling down under Jericho's weight. Once again the wind was knocked out of her, and her precious hat knocked a few feet away. Oh... Oh Jack. It was happening again... She'd tried to put her hands up and push him away before the fall, but now... She was stuck like that. Hands on his chest.
Needless to say, her face lit up like a red lightbulb, tail frizzed out. Her mouth opened to shout, but all that came was a meek squeaking sound. At the very least, she'd avoided shouting out the 'sexual harassment' thing like she had back at the festival.
Oh, the limo driver wasn't about to jump in and try to halt anything. If anything, the grin said that he was somewhat amused. "Haha, distance to the rooms too much for you?"

Grunting as he landed a little hard, Jericho took note that he didn't seem to land on the ground. When he opened his eyes, he realized this definitely wasn't the case as he saw Riyo being squished by him again. Eyes widening, he quickly rolled away.
At least she didn't start shouting at him again.
"Tiamat's s**t, sorry about that," He got out before frowning over at the limo driver. Getting on up, he dusted himself before reaching out to see if he could help her up.
