Aedan was startled to say the least by the sudden arrival of the red lion they were supposed to be hunting for - so she wasn't old bones after all Huzzah! Of course his cheer was quickly replaced by the lions reaction to one of their own and her question. Which of course stirred up the rest of their little hunting troop. Things were going to get terribly out of control soon if someone didn't do something.
"I don't think starting a fight is going to help us in the long run" He told the female who was looking for a way to surround Uriah. "Surely a more diplomatic approach would be better...given the circumstances, perhps we can merely talk to her". Aedan was perfectly fine with a good old fight, but if they injured the lioness then she would be unlikely to answer their questions and so far he didn't think Veru was too horribly wounded. Taking a step closer to the edge he peered down at the angry red lioness "My Lady...we are only here to talk" He told her "None of us wish you harm" He continued telling her before glancing back at his companions for confirmation of this fact. "Right?"

"Right....." The bright female replied to herself softly, ear twitching as she peeked round the boulder she was hidden behind.
Throughout the whole argument between the band she had been stood atop the ridge, yellow eyes searching for a safer way down before Veru simply shot off the side of the mountain. Suppressing a huff but unable to resist rolling her eyes, the muscular lioness had padded along the ridge a short way before vanishing behind a large outcrop. Already out of sight when the red female attacked Veru, Kuza listened intently to the voices coming from the area where she knew the band all still stood about like stone statues.
Silently, claws carefully retracted so she didn't make a sound, she crept down the steep ridge, tail windmilling behind her as she fought to keep her balance. Finally she made it down and judging from the voices, she was now behind and a little below the red stranger. Creeping up the path she squatted down behind a large boulder, now just feet away from the defensive female who had a hold of Veru. The group on the ridge were keeping her attention, so Kuza peeked round the side of the stone, eyes narrowed.
She could dash across and grab hold of her within a few seconds.... Glancing up at the others, knowing they had no hope of approaching the stranger without being seen the entire way, she made a decision.
Silently, with no sound or voice, she launched herself from behind the boulder. Her massive, powerful body hunched low, muscled legs pumping. In two strides she was across the rocks and slammed into the red female full force, using her body to knock them both clear away from Veru. Claws hooked into red fur as she literally wrapped herself around the other lioness, not aiming to hurt her... too much, but to immobilize and pin her. Firekin were some of the largest lions in the savannah and Kuza knew how to use her bulk to her advantage.
Around a mouthful of fur she growls as she hears ......
( *Hope the post is ok... Tried not to godmod the red lioness, Kuza just couldn't sit and do nothing any more. lol

... a loud roar, echoing against the rocks. It seems Uriah wasn't alone, after all!
While the two girls fought, a rather large male jumped from where he'd been waiting. Although he seemed half blinded by the drifting sands, he certainly knew where to find Uriah. They were outnumbered, but that didn't seem to matter. He flew at Kuza, and the two combatants became three.
This is about the part when Veru's assistance might have come in handy. But unlike Kuza, Veru was not the traditional firekin. It took him several moments to get back onto his feet, and another few moments to really figure out what was going on. He seemed more disheveled from the fall than anything. "Hey, hey!" The white male approached the tustle like one might approach a gaggle of cubs. "Enough of that!"
Uriah, with Haru's help, managed to squirm out from her captor. Her voice raised in a harsh hiss. "You idiot," she spat. "How dare you put a hand on me! I'll tear our your eyes!"
Veru wasn't a strong lion, but he was a quick one. The white male stepped between the pair, holding out one paw to defend himself from Uriah's quick temper. "Easy, all of you. We're not here to hurt anyone, despite that clonk you gave to my head. Which hurts, you know." Uriah continued to snarl. "We more than out number you."
Apparently Uriah was someone who believed in lost causes. A second later she leaped forward and...

.. slammed straight back into the open paws of Kuza, who had bounced right back onto her feet and met the leap head on, keeping Uriah off of Veru who clearly was no fighter. Now aware of the rogue male with her, the red firekin kept herself away from the male's claws as she slammed the smaller rogue onto the ground, her larger body providing the weight to keep the other pinned.
"For gods sake. Shut up and listen. You have been poaching on firekin land for weeks, its not like you didn't know about us." Growling in her throat she kept a firm grip on the struggling female, ears flicking back to listen to.....

...Mpeko snarling at her and trying to swat her off the rogue female. The female was not one for violence and she'd never been known to duel, judging by her pristine coat and lack of scarring, but she knew battle from her half-sister and she moved bodily to try keeping the fighters from, well, fighting.
"For pity's sake! Fighting is useless right now!"
She tried looking twice her size.
"Why don't you lot learn to discuss things like mature adults you cubs?"

Ute lifted her head to Mpeko's words. "Cause some of us had to grow up to fast. Let cub talk be cub talk... In the end the adults will pull through." She said simply, tossing a glance in the direction of the fighting ones. She peered over Mpeko's back, not wanting to get into the fray. "Though.. looks as thought fighting is the adult thing for now..."

"Hey!" Nur'yu interjected, shoving past the legs of some of the larger Firekin. "Not all of us cubs fight, you know." Though he couldn't really class himself as a cub any more. He was teetering on adolescence now, though it was true. He wasn't really the argumentative sort...
Curiously, he pushed a little closer, eyeing up the lioness that the others had clearly been looking for. "Why is she poaching if she could join the pride?" He asked no one in particular. "She does have red fur and she has the Firekin spirit!" Fiery and brave she was. Though some might call it stupidity, considering how gravely outnumbered she was - though it did appear she had a friend along with her.
"Oh, oh, you might not want to get too close to that white lion, you know." He bounced on the tips of his paws. "He's dead. Or - uh - he was. He came back to life. Guess that makes him undead." He grinned. As far as Nur'yu was concerned, that joke would never get old. Seemingly unafraid and certainly very curious about this new she-cat, he tottered forwards; wanting to get a closer look.
Until, that was, he felt himself being shoved sideways by...

...Veru. It was very dramatic.
"Undead, indeed!" The white lion started. "Clearly, we need to have a little sit down. This goes beyond poaching. We have guards posted at all the water supplies. Unless you are remarkably good at bribery, I'm going to guess you haven't been stealing from them."
He moved forward, and Uriah hissed. She was still winded from having slammed into Kuza, and her fur was on edge. "That's what this is about? Water?" She growled.
"A common theme these days!" Veru chirruped. He glanced over his shoulder at the other lions. "We have a right to whatever water it is you've found. All of us. Why are you still skulking around here? There's better lands outside the desert. Easier places. Either you want to be here, or you don't. But this water is ours."
Strangely, Uriah didn't seem to take much to Veru's argument. "That's it?" She snarled. "That's your sell? You'll have to try better then that. You can't do anything to me. If I leave, you won't know where the water is. And if I die, you won't know where it is either."
She turned her head towards the crowd. "What makes you think I want to be apart of you?!"

"Obviously you want to be a part of the pride because we are awesome!" Ea'pavlov steps forwards shuffling closer to the bloody red female.
"I bet the regents would let you stay forever if you tell them where the water is. Don't you want to be a firekin? It's a pretty sweet thing to be." He beams, his young face full of hope that perhaps there was water and more to the pint that Uriah was a really good water seeker. He wanted to learn from her, though he kept this thought close to his chest.
He smiles lightly, his ears swiveling towards the others "She'd be an excellent firekin right guys?"

"I'm sure that she would be" Aedan replied as the young male spoke up, and truly the female had surely proved her ability to survive the harsh environment rather well - and she was brave enough to face down an entire troop of their number. Her attitude, maybe, left a bit to be desired but given the way they had barged onto her like this Aedan thought perhaps this wasn't the best time to judge her for that.
"Perhaps however..we should find out what it is she wants, surely there is something she desires which can be traded for the knowledge of water yes?" He asked his eyes on Uriah, lifting his voice so that she might hear him over the din such a group of lions created,.

And, following Aedan's example, Nur'yu lifted his own voice to speak up again. He certainly did like to talk a lot for such a little guy.
"Oh, oh! I know! Pick me! Pick me!" He shoved forwards again, his orange eyes incredibly bright against the dark back-drop of his fur. "You need some friends, right? Being out here all alone..." Well, not alone, exactly, since there was that other one, but small details. He gave a shrug and looked around at the others gathered all around.
She definitely would fit in well with her fiery temper!
"We'll be your friends. After all, the desert is..."

“Is not the best conversationalist out there. Trust me I've sent many a word towards the sand, but never a reply.” Finished Suditi with a small smile of amusement. She knew what it was like to live alone out in such places. After all she had left her own pride for a time before returning to that...but that was not the focus now. She forced her thoughts back. “And if you say that you’ve had a many great conversation with it then I would be worried. ” But that might explain why this lioness had what seemed to be a source of water out here in the desert which had hidden so much from the pride. The bright red lioness studied the other, “Can you really say that you are happy out here by yourself?”
“We joined recently.” Sekayi spoke up and moved forward to look at Uriah, “The firekin are more than just warriors, we are a family of sorts. Everyone is strong not just for themselves but to support each other. We are given purpose here. Can you really spit on such things?”
“Not to mention you have the spirit.” Xennek commented with a wry smile, “That fiery temper and warrior spirit fits in perfectly with this group. Don’t tell me you might be afraid of trying to live in a pride of warriors?” He smiled teasingly at her just as….

... Uriah continued to seethe. Family? They dare bring up family to her? Her tail pulsed, and her lips pulled back into a sneer. She knew all about firekin family. She'd been played by all of them, after all. Mother, grandfather, uncle- all of them. And yet for as much as she despised them, she hadn't been able to leave. Like there was nothing left in the outside world but this desert. Like she had nothing better to do then be repeatedly used by this family.
The red lioness turned her eyes upon Haru, and shook her head. She'd been able to escape the pride for a long while. But these new bloods weren't likely to let her slip away. Not with that water crazed look in their eyes. She supposed they could have made an admirable last stand. The kind of thing real firekin did. But she relented. For the moment.
"You act like I'm some sad kitten, wanting to be apart of something she's not." She was, but maybe she'd never been apart. Not really. "If you let my friend and I go, we'll return with you. And I'll think about whether or not I want to help you."
Veru blinked. "I don't think that's a very compelling argument."
"If you're desperate enough to be chasing after me for whatever scrap of water I have, I'd think you're desperate enough to do whatever I want. Let my friend and I join, and we'll decide if we want to tell you," she said rather indignantly.
The white lion shifted his shoulders, tossing a nervous glance at Seide. This wasn't going to go well for him. But he found himself with an idea. If they brought the two back to the pride with them, surely someone would be able to follow them when they snuck back to their cache... "I don't think any of us are qualified to make a decision like that. But you may certainly come back with us, if that's what it takes."
Uriah rolled her eyes. Like she was joining because she had a choice! "Whatever. Those are my terms. Any objections?"

Aedan considered the females words carefully, his ears swiveling to and fro as he pondered - it was true that they needed the water. Badly. If they didn't get some soon then Aedan didn't want to think about what might happen to the pride and he hadn't spent a good part of his life searching for a place to call home only to have the damned weather and some bad luck take it away from him.
"None from me" He finally stated though he wasn't entirely certain of the females motives, on one hand she seemed to despise the pride on the other she seemed to want to be a part of it. It was confusing..but they had been sent out to find her and they were now on the verge of bringing her back. Mission complete. Whatever happened afterwards would surely by the problem of those higher in the pride hierarchy. "Do any of the rest of you object?"
