Oh! Tek spun and just barely kept the plate of chips and sauce from scattering all over the ground. Letting out a small mental giggle Tek sped after Bloo, while the wisp was able to take a more direct route Tek dodged past party guests as xe attempted to follow the younger fiend.

Tek arrived not far behind Bloo as the wisp bobbed next to Algie on the other side of the door, Hullo! We brought you something delicious! Tek's three eyes looked up toward Algie as he carefully opened the door still balancing the little plate. We are Tek, your socks are nice. Tek tilted xyrs head slightly and offered the plate up as xe speaks.

Rhys's gaze followed after the blur of dark tentacles and neon coloring that marked Tek's dash toward the house, sighing slightly Rhys tensed before relaxing when he didn't hear a crash. Still holding the plate for Ruku he spotted Merci and grinned slightly from her dishevelled look he realized she must have taken the hoverbike and chuckled softly to himself. At least Cinder hadn't really used the ship to drop her off, "we'll want to make at least one rare - Merci prefers them that way and I'm pretty sure that's what Vance will want." Rhys inclined his head slightly to where the Kitsune had arrived with the others.

Before he had time to discuss the idea of rare burgers with the fiend he glanced over toward the new arrival and smiled faintly toward Anais, "hello there...I'm Rhys." Pausing he glanced over to the grill and then the girl in pink, "uhm...what would you like?"

Dio sailed through the side gate and held up his hand, releasing the small yellow stone into the air. He watched Sulfur slowly right herself. 'Don't worry Sully, Vance will be close by. I think Rhys and Tek are here too.' The black fiend scanned the rather large group of people before he spotted his 'brother'. Taking a tentative movement toward them, he glanced back at the little wisp to be sure she was going to follow him. When he was sure she would, he drifted over toward the group Rhys was with.

Sulfur floated through the air after Dio. She wasn't used to such large groups of people, and it was both intimidating and somehow exhilarating. In the fading light, her eerie blue flames licked to life, creating a nice blue glow as she trailed through the party guests.

Vance adjusted his hat and glared at Merci "I'm still not riding that death trap back home. It's not happening."

Merci wasn't in the mood for him tonight, she hadn't come all this way to have him ruin her fun. Her tone was flippant when she responded, "Okay, you can slither your way home then." She was dressed pretty nicely today, though she opted for leather pants rather then her customary leather skirt. They made it easier to ride the hoverbike.

The kitsune strode through the gate and immediately started looking for Dio. She caught sight of his brightly colored head moving toward Rhys and she decided that she'd let him be to mingle as he chose. She opted for the old fashioned party behavior of circling the area once before committing to a location.

Vance, coiled himself up near the gate. His grumpiness palpable as he grumbled quietly about squeezing Merci much harder on the way home.

"Rhys, that's a nice name. I'm Anais." Anais smiled and surveyed the grill to see what he had cooking. "Ooh, um can I have a hotdog and a burger please?" She tucked a piece of blonde hair behind her ear and watched the fiends zooming around. They all seemed rather similar in shape and looks, and they all seemed to act like a group of kids who had had too much candy.
"Um, can I ask a question, these ... creatures. Nephrite and the others. what are they?"

“Oh my God,” Miranda gasped, having caught sight of Dio. “I Have Seen The Rainbow.” Her voice was practically vibrating with veneration. Promptly leaving Amon to his temporary brooding, she picked up one of her own cupcakes from the table, and headed straight for the young Stargazer. “You,” she told him straight out, “have the most amazing hair. Ever.”

Her wisp, having followed closely, apparently agreed wholeheartedly with its guardian. It circled Dio’s head, pinging everyone close enough to sense it madly with its excitement about the colors. And the sparkles. Oh The Sparkles.

“Hey,” Miranda eventually remembered to introduce herself, starting to nibble at the cake’s icing in between sentences. “I’m Miranda. And that is Rutie. He happens to have a-” She paused, having spotted Sulfur, and swallowed. “Is that, ah. Is that a shadow that actually glows?” Miranda’s face openly mirrored her confusion at the apparent paradox.

Nell spun and twirled, as far from her foster mother as she could go, sampling energy off the other wisp Sulfur, she recoiled and sampled the Black Star teen and tumbled sideways, like a leaf somersaulting in the breeze.

Her mother was such a closet case. being social was a rare treat, all the people, all the fiends so many different flavors!

Trivii grabbed a drink and eyed the assortment of other foods at the table, some of it tantalized the nose in such an evil fashion she knew she would try it... To hell with her tongue, but that could wait. Glancing around she spotted an unobtrusive place she could sit and gather her thoughts, people watch and listen while the little wisp... played? Was Carnelian too young to play? She was certainly taking her time about growing up.

Dio paused as he was approached, and he couldn't help the happy crease to his eyes. If he had a mouth he would probably have been smiling. 'Thank you Miranda, I don't often get comments about my hair that aren't negative.' That little wisp was so cute! His head swiveled as he watched Rutie, 'I'm Dio, I'm really happy I got invited. I don't get to see so many little ones at the same time.' His voice was warm, he adored the wisps. He reached up with his star covered arm to wave at Rutie.

Sulfur floated closer to Dio, the blue flames licking up around her as she did. In the setting of the sun, her glow was getting a little bit brighter. Her curiosity though was no fixated on Rutie, but on Miranda. She floated closer to the woman and circled her slowly, as if sizing her up.

The teenager couldn't help a small laugh, 'Yeah she does glow. She reminds me of a little Will-o-Wisp. You know from old stories? Follow one into the forest and get lost in there forever? When Sully floated past him, the light she cast reflected in Dio's hair, making the sparkles practically dance.

Rhys nodded slightly and started making Anais' plate up setting the appropriate buns on it before setting it down next to the grill. "Your first order Ruku," Hearing Anais' question Rhys paused considering before glancing over, "eh...so you don't know anything?" The boy raised his brow slightly, he wondered what he should tell her...and if he was allowed to tell her but he figured that if she'd been invited to the party she probably was alright. "Ruku might be able to answer that some for you," Rhys glanced toward the fiend and then to Anais unsure how he should continue, he didn't want Ruku to feel like he was being talked over. "I'm probably not the best expert on things, but if you like when things settle some I can try to fill you in....actually I think I see someone better for that."

Catching site of Merci circling the group of guests Rhys took a step closer to her and called out, "Merci! Come and get something to eat," grinning a little he gestured her over toward the grill, "Vance is looking particularly volatile as well, if you like Ruku and I could hold off getting him his food until last." Bringing Merci in closer he gestured toward Anais and the back, "Merci this is Anais, she is sort of new to everything and was wondering about the fiends...I figured since you worked at the shop you might have a better idea of how to explain things." Rhys grinned slightly, "plus Ruku and I are busy starting things on fire."

A hand rolled cigarette hung out of the corner of Theirn's mouth, night was falling and the quiet of the country road stood out in stark contrast to the sounds the werewolf's vehicle made. Theirn was driving a battered old pick up truck, it ran smoothly but somewhat loudly. The hood had several old dings that hadn't been beaten out of it and the passenger side door was a faded white contrasting with the scuffed blue of the rest of the vehicle. The only newer looking item on the truck was a bumper sticker stuck to the back bumper which read, Lycanthropy is not a family value.

Theirn had come across the information for the bbq and had tentatively looked into the whole ordeal. The party was happening a few nights after the full moon so he was still feeling sore from the shifting, which meant he was also feeling more crabby. Normally he'd shy away from others during this time but the construction job he'd managed to get wasn't due to pay him for the next few days...and at the party there'd be food.

"Too bad you weren't bigger, I'd teach you how to pocket biscuits," Theirn glanced over to a small dark wisp bobbing nearby on the seat of the truck. "Here is the place..." slowing Theirn pulled up to the house looking over the various vehicles lined up near the place, sitting a moment the werewolf took a long drag off of his cigarette before flicking it out the open window of his truck. "There are suppose to be more of your kind here," Theirn glanced to Coal, "lets go meet the family."

Hoping out of the truck Theirn's pale wolf eyes caught some of the light from the lanterns and flashed. He paused a moment near the opening into the backyard where most of the guest seemed gathered, glancing down he looked over his worn jeans, steel toed boots, and last clean t-shirt he felt a bit under dressed but just shrugged to himself before stepping through the gate.

Coal floated near his guardian, the little wisp didn't like getting too far and as the two looked over the grouping of those gathered Coal moved in closer to Theirn shying away from the others.

Algie chuckled. He remembered this one from the bar though he didn't really speak with him much. The tentacles and third eye were quite interesting! It seemed stranger than some of the other fiends he'd met.

"Thank you.. I don't usually get complimented on my socks, Tek, but its good to know the little details are appreciated." He glanced down at his shoes since he'd forgotten what socks he was even wearing.

His green eyes drifted to the outside where more and more people were showing up. He saw fiends and wisps who were new! The wizard loved meeting new people and his budding interest in the fiends made him eager to encounter more of the creatures.

Bloo drifted closer to the plate, circling above it to direct Algie's eyes to the food that had been brought. Did he really quite grasp that the food was hot? Not completely.

"Oh yes.. food. Thank you." Algie peered at it but didn't really think much about it. "Let's go outside though." He took a bit of the sambal on his finger and put it into his mouth for a taste as he pushed open the door to the outside patio.

"Mm what was mmmmmmmmmOOOOOOO..." Algie's eyes got wide, his mouth gaped open and he started to fan the inside of his mouth and hiss air in. "Ahhhhhh AHHHHHHH!" He was now hopping in place and flapping his arms in front of his mouth like a fool.

Bloo seemed to panic all of a sudden and shot towards his bond, attempting to 'soothe' the burning to no avail!

A faint blush crossed Mistalina's cheeks when she made eye contact briefly with Amon before looking away to compose herself. So that was Nephrite's guardian? The little shadow has spoken well of him in the few moments they had been able to chat after which the elf had an invitation thrust into her hands. Where was little Nephrite anyway? She wanted to say hi to the little shadow and give her a gift she had brought.

Well, she certainly wasn't going to find her standing here by the fence now was she? Time to mingle a bit then. She wove her way through the throng, carefully watching for any smaller shadows that might be lurking near the ground. It wouldn't be very nice to trip over anyone.

“Then I’d highly recommend not speaking with that dork over there,” Miranda said, pointing at Amon over her back. “He keeps calling me ‘Rainbow Brite’ all the time. And Wisp doesn’t even have rainbow hair. She’s blonde.” The young woman huffed, taking a bite out of her cake. Miranda’s own hair was vividly colored somewhere between peach and pink, with strands and gradients of both. Next week it was probably going to be something else again.

Rutie, it seemed, was quite taken with the young stargazer. He circled Dio’s arm, then slowly moved up the back of it, the shadows which surrounded him moving like a tiny miniature tornado. The needle-shaped inclusions in the crystal shimmered golden, though they reflected some of the colorful party lights that had been put up as well, as he spun around his vertical axis this way and that. ((Hahah, doesn’t Dio actually have a piece of rutilated quartz? =D))

“Heheh, isn’t he just like a miniature disco ball?” Miranda joked, looking about for somewhere to sit and eventually dragging close a deck chair. Time to finally rest her feet, oh yes. They hurt. She really didn’t care if she was possibly in the way. People were fully capable of moving around her. She looked curiously at Sulfur, who seemed to be quite taken with her in turn, and hesitantly raised one hand to touch her, but not quite. She wasn’t sure if that’d be a good idea, with those flames. “What kind of mineral is that, actually?” she asked. Gems and semi-precious gems she had down. Minerals that weren’t relevant to jewelry-making, not so much.

Still wondering about what turn Nephrite’s development might eventually take, Amon caught the elven woman’s interested glance towards him, briefly returning the eye contact with a faint – but not unfriendly – smile. ‘Mistalina’ was the name she’d given him in the email, but he very much doubted it was her real name. It simply didn’t have a very elvish ring to it. He should ask her, perhaps. He might be able to pronounce it about just right, albeit with a pretty thick accent. Putting out his cigarette in a nearby ashtray, he pushed himself away from the baluster to join the crowd. Given he was the host he ought to mingle, aquaint himself with his guests. And … he probably ought to relieve poor Rhys from the grill duty (and watching over Ruku) at some time. Though the boy seemed to be doing rather well at it.

He was, however, stopped short by the sight of Algernon gasping and flailing, his face of an alarmingly red color. It took only a moment (and a glance at Tek still holding the plate with the chips and the sambal) to count two and two together. He quirked a brow at the black-and-neon-green fiend, and – as no one seemed to be looking – grinned and gave him a thumbs up before he went to support the gasping wizard and carefully direct him back into the kitchen. That shapely elven woman would have to wait for a little, he decided with a bit of a sigh.

He opened the fridge, and after a moment, pressed a glass of nice cold milk into Algernon’s hands. “Drink up, that’ll help,” he advised the middle-aged man. At least that seemed to be the case for most people. He himself had a tolerance for hot food that was downright unholy. Or, at the very least, simply not fair. The only thing that had ever brought him down gasping had been that damn dragonfyre.

Dio held out his arm for the young wisp, and he couldn't help the smile crinkles at the corner of his one visible burgundy eye. 'It's a map of the heavens.' He seemed to be addressing Rutie directly, not thinking for even a second that he wouldn't understand everything he was saying. 'All the little glints represent a star, and they match the sky. I know where every single one of them is, I could point them out to you some time.' He didn't mind the attention, he expected it from a wisp.

He glanced up to Miranda and he canted his head slightly to one side. 'Merci made me dress like Rainbow Brite for Halloween last year. She pulled my hair up and everything. Luckily there wasn't a huge party, and everyone didn't see me. I probably would still be living it down.'

The small wisp moved suddenly toward Miranda's hand, and seemed to rub against her fingers. The blue flames didn't burn in the least, they tangled with the little black shadows Sully had and felt somewhat cool, like a mist.

The older shadow couldn't help a little chuckle, 'She doesn't get out much. That's Sulfur, or Sully for short. She's elemental sulfur though, which is probably good because I hear that it can end up smelling pretty bad.' His burgundy eye turned back to Rutie before he glanced up to Miranda, a sly note in his voice, 'I have a quartz like him. Obviously not LIKE him, like him. Reyna gave it to me so I could hear the stars better.

Merci noticed Rhys try to get her attention and she sauntered over. She listened to him and she grinned a bit. "Or you know, you could just burn his meat a little bit. Seriously that snake is in top form tonight. I'd leave him alone."

She turned her attention to Anais and she offered her a smile, her canine teeth slightly elongated thanks to her heritage. "Hi, It's nice to meet you. I help out Athan and Reyna at the shop now and then. Not to mention that thing over there is mine." She pointed at Dio, who was happily floating some distance away from them. "I could probably answer most of your questions." Merci's fox-like ears were perked up, and her tail was flicking around behind her, both prime indicators that she was in a pretty good mood.

There was no indication the wisp understood what Dio told him. He seemed, however, to slow down a little, eventually settling on the young fiend’s arm as if to rest there.

Miranda, for her part, was fascinated, looking at Dio’s arm first, and then up at the sky where the first stars were beginning to show, as if to compare. The fiends were all so diverse in appearance and abilities, it was amazing.

“I think Rainbow Brite is pretty awesome,” she declared. “To bad it was before my time, I would have loved to watch it when it first came out.” She instinctively flinched back a little when ‘Sullie’ approached her so suddenly, almost dropping her cake, but then quickly recovered from her surprise.

“Hey there, Sullie,” she said, eventually offering her fingers for the wisp to play with. The flames weren’t hot at all. “How can you tell it’s a ‘she’? I mean, I get the impression Rutie is a ‘he’, but how can you tell?” She munched on her cake and kept wiggling her fingers at Sulfur. “And, now that you mention it, I actually use liver of sulfur to patinate my jewelry. It is pretty stinky stuff.”

Algie coughed, hacked and grabbed at his throat. His eyes were red and tears leaked slowly down his cheeks. He readily took the milk and gulped it down. It helped a bit. He'd obviously taken a nice finger full and hadn't used the chip as a buffer. He clasped Amon's arm for a bit of support until he could breathe without choking.

"By Morgana's... abundant... cleavage." Obviously some sort of wizard expression. "..pardon.. language.." He hacked again. "What WAS that?!" He moved to the sink, running water over his hands in an attempt to get the heat off of his fingers. He wouldn't want to get a spicy surprise later when he rubbed an eye or went to the bathroom.

"Thank you.. for the milk.." His voice was now raspy, but recovering. "Ohhh.." He still hissed a few breaths as the heat lingered.
