Turning around, Shun noticed there was no thud. Instead, he heard the flapping of wings. When he was able to see Hel again, he saw that she had managed to right herself. Those wings were a bit tricky to deal with for sure. If anything, it meant that he shouldn't try to throw her or knock her down all that often as it wouldn't have as much of an effect.
For now she was out of his reach, being up in the air like that. When she dove down, he rolled to the side, dodging in the meantime. He'd have to think carefully about how he was going to deal with this particular tactic before attempting anything.

Hel really liked the sudden turn of events. Being the one on the offensive was refreshing, and chasing down Shun was rather rewarding as well. The ghoul cackled as Shun dove away from her, and she quickly climbed into the air before swooping back down upon him once more.
For right now, she was rather content keeping up with this pattern, as it allowed her a bit of an upper hand it seemed! She’d have to catch Shun sooner or later, right?

Watching as Hel climbed back into the air, Shun frowned and suddenly disappeared into shadowy wisps when she came diving back down. Almost instantaneously, he reappeared above her.. or where above where he thought she'd be. As he fell, he tried to reach out to grab her anywhere to see if he could drag her back to the earth.

Hel was grinning still as she swooped down at the reaper once more with her foot outstretched…though the grin was soon wiped off of her face when Shun disappeared right before her eyes. Did…did he just…vanish? Hel’s eyed widened and her mouth pulled down into a frown as her gaze swept left and right, everywhere but where she should have been looking.
Up.
“Ack!” The reaper hollered rather ungracefully as she suddenly felt a weight on her, and was quickly plummeting to the ground. The valkyrie was not capable in this point of time in carrying someone else, so to the ground she went! Hel tucked her wings close to her back as they fell, readying for the impact of hitting the ground.

Not wanting to let Hel escape to let himself crash down, Shun continued to hang onto her as they fell. Even so, he tried to brace himself for the oncoming impact as much as he could.
Once he hit the ground, he let out a grunt and it was then that he finally released the Valkyrie. That might not have been the best idea but he needed to ground her somehow.

“Oof!” The impact with the ground was not pleasant to say the least, and the Valkyrie couldn’t help but have a bit of the wind knocked out of her when she landed.
Eager to not show any possible weakness though, Hel leapt back up to her feet (stumbling a bit before she righted herself), and took a few deep breaths. She then gave Shun a shaky grin, holding her fists up. “I will admit friend, you got me with that little trick! I never would have imagined that you could just disappear and then reappear like that!”

Shaking his head, Shun lingered on the ground for the moment before pushing himself back to his feet. That fall was a little harder than he originally anticipated.. probably because he had been holding onto Hel. He probably would have been able to prepare himself for the landing better if his hands were free.
"Most people don't expect it," he said, finally speaking again as he got back into his stance. His shoulder was a bit numb from having landing on it. Letting out a breath, he rushed at her with a roundhouse kick aimed to her side.

Oddly, Hel waited for Shun to get back to his feet before she made any moves. Call it an honorable, respectful thing to do for another warrior. Or call it collecting her breath still.
“What a wonderful ace up the sleeve!” She commented, immediately throwing her arms down in a ‘X’ shape to block the kick. If she was able to get a hold of one of his ankles, the valkyrie would then grab him, and try to throw him away from her (a little trick that she picked up from Petro).

Narrowing his eyes as Hel had managed to grab a hold of his ankle, Shun was about to take countermeasures, but she had already thrown him back. The Reaper stumbled away, nearly falling over. He did manage to keep his balance this time for the most part and remained on his feet.

The reaper took another deep breath as she managed to throw Shun away from her. It gave her a moment of wiggle room, of relief. The valkyrie had to wonder once more though…it seems they were equally matched this time around. With Petro, she had an advantage due to being able to fly, but obviously Shun managed to overcome her advantage with that little teleportation trick of his.
Hmmm…
Regardless, it was time to keep going! Hel lunged at the reaper once more, and pulled back a fist to take another jab at him.

Just as he steadied himself, ready to retaliate, Shun felt Hel's fist connect into the side of his ribcage. Letting out a grunt, he took the hit pretty hard, but it wasn't quite enough to get him to fall back. Gritting his teeth, he turned and aimed to counter with a punch to her gut while they were this close to one another. In any case, it seemed they were pretty even, going off of how things had been going thus far, but the Reaper was determined to try and pull ahead if possible.

Woah, she didn’t expect to land a hit on him!
Hel was in glee from having managed to do so. Oh, maybe she was starting to wear him down! This train of thought let her get overconfident, and she failed to block the blow that landed right at her gut. She let out another grunt of her own, her brows furrowing as she paused for a moment after the hit. No time to slow down! She had to keep moving! After another moment, the reaper lashed out with one of her feet, aiming to take Shun out at the legs again while she was so close to him still.

Feeling that attack connect, Shun was about to try and keep up with his momentum, but then took the kick to his leg. He didn't fall over as he did last time, but the targeted leg did buckle down, bringing him down onto one knee. Hissing from the spurt of pain, he pushed off with his other leg to try and tackle Hel while he was lower to the ground.

Hey, he might have not gone all the way to the ground, but she’d take the knee, definitely! Hel was about to follow up with a knee to his stomach while he was down, but once again he threw her for a loop with the tackle. Shun didn’t follow a certain pattern like Petro did…so it made him a harder opponent to try and read.
Down Hel went! With a trick up her sleeve though! As she went down, and if Shun didn’t quickly roll away, the reaper wrapped her legs around his waist. As soon as she hit the ground, she immediately rolled back, propelled her body with her arms and threw the reaper over and away from her with her legs.

Shun didn't quite expect Hel to counter that way. Before he really knew it, he felt her legs latch around his waist and then he was essentially flung off of her. The Reaper landed pretty hard onto his backside as he was flipped off, stunning him for the moment or so as well.
Groaning lowly, he slowly rolled over to try and work his way back to his feet. He was definitely slowing down a fair amount. His reaction time wasn't as quick as what it was when this spar first started.
