Mitsu still seemed to be a little confused about this. Then again, she had grown up differently so perhaps that was making it harder for the girl to grasp this. For all he cared, if Riyo wanted to be alone, that was perfectly fine with him.

Though, when she spoke again, it seemed that her reasons for avoiding people were a bit different than his own. Shun didn't seek companionship because a majority of the population were idiots and he really didn't want anything to do with them. He did fine without them and so he kept to himself for the most part.

What he didn't really understand was why the lupine girl seemed to be so intent on turning Riyo into a friend.

"You seem pretty intent on this," he said quietly towards Mitsu.

Wrong to make friends? Riyo always held tight to the opinion that it was, but both Mitsu and Shun already knew she felt that way so she'd spare them the repeat.

"There's nothing wrong with being alone." There was everything wrong with being alone. "You don't need other people to be happy." Riyo was sure she'd be miserable with or without them anyways. "It just takes a little bit of comfort in yourself." Because she had... SO MUCH of that. No, wait. No she didn't.

Though as Mitsu went on to give the feline a soft-hearted lecture, the ghoul's eyes narrowed. There was a brief moment when the feline was interested by the unspoken reference to the mask, but it was quickly overwritten with anger. Almost immediately after the lupine finished her short speech Riyo stood, taking Felix with her.

"Oh. So you think I'm weak?" She asked in a defensive stance, holding the hazcat in her arms. "You think because I don't like people that I've somehow given up the fight, huh? Just because I don't want some idiots to follow me around everywhere I go doesn't mean I'm stupid or childish." The feline did not close in to make the argument more personal. She knew Mitsu wouldn't want to fight back, thus there was no point in beating a dying horse. There were so many more things she wanted to say. So many angry things. Instead, she simply turned around. "Keep your ******** friendship." The ghoul mumbled and started to walk off.

In truth, perhaps she was those things. Weak. Childish. Stupid. For a moment, and just a moment, Mitsu had managed to make her feel inferior. She imagined whatever the ghoul had went through before, and what she was perhaps still fighting off now, was pretty dire. Yet with all that, she still managed to somehow keep up good spirits.

Riyo couldn't do that. She couldn't let anyone in. Not even if she wanted to. It was a devastating fear she had of allowing somebody that close to her insides. The old wires and rusted cogs that held together a semblance of function... They couldn't handle any more slip-ups.

When Riyo started to get defensive Mitsu instantly went quiet. Confrontation was still something that she couldn't deal with well. It made her freeze up and unable to think properly. Had she been calling Riyo weak? She was just simply trying to say she shouldn't give up on people so easily and Mitsu might have opened her mouth to say that...had the feline not told her to keep her ******** friendship.

Ears drooping down Mitsu let out a soft whimper now shifting uncomfortably. That was all it really took to make her remain quiet. She hadn't meant anything spiteful from what she had said but apparently Riyo was going to take it that way. Maybe it would be best if she just didn't try to say anything more.

While she had decided to stay quiet though, Shun had not felt the same. When the reaper spoke up in her defense Mitsu's eyes grew wide behind her mask turning to look at him. Now....that had been a verbal attack. But..she couldn't help but feel there was some truth to it. Riyo was running away. She was running away from people.

With a nervous glance Mitsu looked back toward Riyo. With the feline's personality Mitsu wasn't sure if that would just seal the deal on this adventure and she would continue on and avoid them from now on...or if she would snap back like a rubber band and continue to spat with Shun. Either way Mitsu was worried of the results.

Narrowing his eyes at Riyo, Shun set the book aside before standing up so that he was more eye level with the feline.

"I never mentioned anything about a fight. I'm just calling it as I see it," he said cooly, "But if that's what you want, then bring it."

He had no issues with getting into a fight here. Sure, he remembered what Lizzy was saying, but the feline was kind of provoking things here. This wasn't the Reaper simply lashing out at a moment's notice.

Riyo had turned around and reached up to throw her hat somewhere so she could ream Shun when Mitsu got inbetween the two. Oh for the love of-

"Mitsu, what the hell?" She asked angrily, both of her hands balled up into tight fists. She wanted to grab the girl and push her out of the way so she could proceed in (trying) to beat the s**t out of Shun (with the end result most likely being a lose). It was so hard to fight it. She could feel the hate bubbling up under her skin, a burning desire to knock some of the reaper's teeth out.

"You never know Mitsu. Maybe we'll end up not despising each other after we beat each other into oblivion." She hissed through her teeth, intense eyes staring holes into the reaper. It was a lie. Riyo really didn't think there was any way she would get along with the reaper. But hey, whatever helped the ghoul sleep at night.

Her ears couldn't get any lower on her head and realizing her current position IN THE MIDDLE OF A POTENTIAL FIGHT it was obvious Mitsu was scared. Her body was shaking slightly but still she did not move, though it was very possible she was frozen in place.

"I don't want anyone to get hurt." Mitsu said softly still refusing to step aside. It was a silent protest really but her stubborn side was showing through.

With his gaze shifting back towards the wolf girl, his expression actually softened a little. She looked pretty damn scared where she was, but that hadn't stopped her from standing up to the both of them to try and get them to have a 'cease fire'. Perhaps her confidence hadn't been as broken as he thought originally.

Before he could say anything though, he heard Riyo swear, which brought his attention up. Some sort of black substance had begun to leak out of her nose and mouth.

"What the ********?" he said while furrowing his brow, grabbing onto Mitsu's shoulders to try and pull her back. He didn't know what was going on here but this didn't look good.
