"Ugh." I was so close. Agent Hendrix put her PDA away and crossed her arms. She looked out the tiny windows of the base and longed for fresh air. She looked at the collection of agents nearby and noted each one. Wuyabi gave up the test. Ginji looked like he had something. Eve wanted apples. She barely knew any of these agents, and yet she's expected to work alongside them. Giving up on this code wouldn't make a good first impression. She looked outside of the tiny window again. She never noticed the apple trees nearby the base. "Huh." She took out her PDA and tried again. This time she was even more determined to get it right.

Eve bit her lip as she looked around at the other agents, still crouched low against the wall. Eve herself may not have been re-instated as an agent yet, and she had a long way to go before she could be cleared again, especially with a needed detox...but she couldn't help herself when it came to puzzles.
She smirked as the agents around her seemed confused by such a thing as this, but then again...Eve's mind didn't work like the others. She herself couldn't blame them for this.
Spotting one of the agents...Hendrix was it? She wasn't too sure, but spotting her Eve stood up and came near, looking out the very same window, spying the apples with a lick of her lips. "Those look mighty good." She let out slightly, her glazed eyes staring out the window as she swallowed hard.

Seeing the agents looking hungrily at the trees outside, Zi spoke up: "No one is to leave until we have this under control. Even to get some red fruit."

"Ugh! Right away chief!" Hendrix was about to look at the window again but instead she scrambled to find out the rest of the code. Her PDA was acting up, but results were slowly coming into focus. Hopefully. She hated double-decoded messages. She hated false alarms even more. She hoped she was right. Before she paused to take a break, Hendrix looked up at Eve, who seemed to have taken notice. "You heard the chief. Your crazed apple obsession can wait. We got a code to solve, agent. Gahhhhh...." Hendrix's PDA made a small beep. Batteries were running low.

Not one to respect personal bubbles, Eve quickly whipped out her laptop from her messanger bag, turning it on from slumber before she sift through random wires and connectors. She was mumbling something incoherent, stared wide eyed at the agent's PDA, then back into her bag before exclaiming, "Ahh, here we go," and plugging it into her laptop, then plugging the other end into the PDA.
Perfect fit.
She saw the folder pop up on her screen, then X'd it out as she looked to the agent as she smiled. "G'luck." She let out slightly. Eve's eyes were bright, she had cracked the code easily, and as much as she wanted to help, she knew she couldn't. Her eyes darted towards the trees again, whimpering slightly as her stomach grumbled. When was the last she ate? Two days ago picking out from the diner after hours? Yes, that was her last meal, but she Zi had acknowledged her and the last thing Eve wanted to do was disobey and lose hope in returning fully.
But damn I could use something good to eat right now.

Pentigan was trying as fast as he could on the Approved Slate, it just wasn't working fast enough on getting to the sites.
"Okay, so they released the N64 in 1996... But there was never any port of Zero Wing to it... Dangit..."
He quickly checked the time, he was hungry. He was hoping this test wouldn't take long because the cafeteria usually only has enough apple pies for the first 120 people... Wait, the cafeteria was down between Sections 12 and 13...
"Fine, I can make 'codes' too. All I need to do is jumble up some random letters like you have..."
He quickly took out a spare sheet and scribbled the following onto it: SSBiZWxpZXZlIHRoZSB0ZXJtIGlzICJDaGVja21hdGUi It made no sense whatsoever to him, and he created it.
"There, a 'code'."

Zi's right. This is really no time to be thinking about food. Even if an apple a day DOES keep the doctor away. Which it doesn't.

Yeata Zi It's good to know only Ginji and Ilaf know their way around a code. sweatdrop "I take offense to that." Ave grinned, munching on an apple she had produced from somewhere on her person.

Ginji again winked at his Superior Officer. "But, Zi, I'm thirsty. You don't really think it would be a good idea if I decided to eat in here, do you? It's not like I was expecting to be in lock down. I left all my vials back in my office."

"Can't I have a pomme d'terre? Well, half of one, at least?" Poppet turns up her Ipod, listening to Ringo Starr's cover of "It Don't Come Easy".

Pentigan was still thinking, not about the code anymore but why Zi would be administering tests to agents she by all rights should already trust...
Unless it was because the danger could be an agent...
"It better not be roboclones again..."
