Bul shot the cowboil a slight glare but it was dismissed soon with a sigh. "Yeeeeaaa... you do kinda have a point. But bog water is gnarly as hell just by itself. You gotta mix it.." he droned off a little as he guzzled down the bottle he was given and wrapped tightly in the towel for a minute or two.

"So I gotta say, I really am grateful of you guys yanno, for helping me out and stuff. I know its tough, I never took swimming lessons when I was little because mama always said I'd catch a cold and die," he shrugged the morbid statement off like it was never meant seriously even though it was. "I think I gotta be prepared for whatever in case Halloween suddenly floods. Then I don't know what I would do. But it's time. To be a MAN."

Some time after his speech Bul had shot up and let the towel drape over his shoulders like a cape before wheeling back and pointing at the water. "And I will NOT let you GET. In. My. WAY." he hissed, tail snapping in air behind him.

Of course, he didn't run back to the water's edge, certainly not. Instead he cuddled the towel a while longer then finally set it aside and took a couple deep breaths. He had to try again.

((Rolling, 1-2 Bul goes in about halfway through the water and just treads, 3-4 Bul treads well enough that he attempts to swim again))

It turned out that Bul just needed a lesson in how NOT to swim before he could grasp on the concept of swimming alltogether. After wading and treading his way out into the bog's warm water, he felt the desire to try again this time not breathing in, but breathing out. He did forget to plug his nose but for a good couple seconds covered some distance under the water. Resurfacing with a splash, the half beast coughed a lot and whined loudly. "It got all up in my nose!!"

Mot laughed at Bul's predicament. While surely he felt badly he'd almost drowned, a mouthful of bog water was a nasty yet funny mishap. It needed to be responded to accordingly.

Mot watched with humor as Bul declared to the bog its imminent defeat. It was good to see him brave another go. Even better, Bul pulled it off! "You're swimming!" He called out, laughing at the boil's plight with a nose full of water. "That will happen."

Mot then noticed something. A hat floating on the water...

HE WAS HATLESS ALL THIS TIME?!

Without warning Mot shot ut into the water, swimming frantically to get it.

"Not a problem man," Jericho grinned while patting the lizard on the back. It was good to see that he was so determined to get this down. When Bul went on to tackle the water again, he watched carefully, hoping they wouldn't have to drag him back out for another round of CPR.

But it seemed that this wasn't necessary as the half-beast was now swimming out in the boggy water. He shot a glance to Mot and nodded, before looking back out to where Bul was swimming.

"Alright! Keep it up man!" he cheered before blinking as he saw Mot rush past into the water.

"...Mot?"

Jove clung happily enough around Yaya's shoulders, and was so distracted by the current flowing around him that he didn't notice Bul's plight. Until Yaya began to move back, radiating a worried emotion that was only too easy for the pup to pick up on.

He watched with an anxious expression as Bul finally coughed up water, much the same way he had spluttered earlier in their swimming session. And then he trailed behind the other boils back into the water for more swimming. So... inhaling water hadn't been that bad after all?

Finally it seemed Bul was confident enough to actually swim! With a small tail wag that splashed at the surface of the water, Jove paddled over to go swim with the red-haired boil, and accidentally put himself in between Mot and the hat.

Hat hat hat hat haaaat!

Mot swam with determination to get his hat back onto his head pronto, and only saw the ghost pup last second. JackingHell! Mot ducked under water, swimming under the pup like some kind of obstacle. He'd have to splash the boil for that move later. Or now. Yes. Now was good.

Upon resurfacing, Mot made a point of kicking his legs along the surface to give the little ghost a shower before grabbing his hat. Though it was wet, so was he, and the reaper placed the article on his head proudly.

Much better!

After dipping under water once more, Bul shook his head free of the draining bog water. "I think I'm getting the hang of it!" Watching Mot swim for his hat gave him the realization that it was part of the reaper's ensemble even in swim wear. "Yo what's with the uh.. hat?" he asked before wading over towards Jove to attempt to meet the ghost pup in the water.

It was terrible, jerky, uncontrolled but he made it, even going under water some and resurfacing near him. "Infinitely jealous, pup," he commented while bouncing on his toes. He no longer feared the wisp would drag him down reveal rows of shark-like teeth and devour him slowly, skin patch by skin patch.

"I think a couple more days of this and I might be able to swim by myself!" he chuckled. "I won't make you all swim with me errr I can just snag one of you at a time hah!"

Jove flailed a bit when he was splashed, spluttering awkwardly for a minute before he regained his momentum. Although he didn't have much weight to him normally, the wet fluff of his tail was enough to make swimming for too long a tiring ordeal. But he was determined not to feel it yet!

With sodden ears perked, he paddled around Bul. Jealous? It was more like he had to be jealous of the taller boil, who seemed able to touch the ground so far out there! If Jove tried to touch ground, he would go right under. And with the weight of his fluff, who knows if he would be able to resurface without help.

He gave another encouraging tail wag, it did seem like Bul was more comfortable in the water. And that reaper seemed content to stop splashing now that he had that hat back... The little ghost briefly left his orbit around Bul to give Mot a circle, trying to peer up under that hat and figure out what was so special about it.

Seeing how Bul wasn't struggling too much, Jericho went on in at a more leisurely pace to make his way back over towards the rest of the group. For a moment, he stared over at Mot as he pretty much rushed over towards his hat. He had to wonder just what was up with that as well.

"Yeah, keep it up dude," he grinned, "Practice makes perfect and all!"

Nodding, the dragon went on to a deeper area of the lake before turning around.

Mot turned his head toward Bul, a now unseen brow raised at the question posed to him. "...What about the hat?" Was it not normal to love a hat so deeply? No? Oh.

Mot was about to swim toward the monster, but the little ghost pup seemed to be circling him like a shark. Why... was he looking g at his hat so intently? Mot pouted, clutching his hat with both hands and pulling the garment further down his face. He worriedly wondered if the ghost was after his hat, and became even more protective of it.

"Yeah, you can count on us, anytime." Mot added, encouraging Bul and his progress.

"How in Halloween are you so buoyant anyway?" Bul narrowed his eyes again at Jove suspiciously. Not only was he jealous of his swimming technique, he was also envious of the fact that he had little trouble getting tugged under. Maybe he was just too heavy to stay so perfectly afloat. Perhaps that was it.

Sad Day.

Mot's dramatic chase for his hat still bewildered the half beast, but he could understand to an extent. He had an insecurity about his rampant boils that only multiplied now the longer he stayed at Amityville. Perhaps it was the atmosphere that stressed them but Bul learned to live with it now.

"Is anyone else starting to prune up a bit?" Bul asked uncomfortably as he lifted his hand out of the water. He wasn't used to that, having rarely spent longer than ten minutes submerged in water.

Jove tilted his head slightly at Mot's behaviour, pausing in is circular paddling just long enough for his shoulders to sink under the water. If the Reaper didn't want to explain the weird hat fascination, oh well...

He turned in the water, sinking up to his chin when Bul spoke up. From that perspective, his soaked ears looked positively giant as they perked straight up to listen. One swivelled around to see if Mot had anything further to say, but it was merely a brief flicker in his attention.

It was easy, he was buoyant because he held his breath! He had just enough air in him to balance out the weight of his fur and clothes pulling him down, it was a simple matter of physics. Jove let out that breath in order to take another one and tell Bul as much, but all he got was a mouthful of water as he sank deeper. With a bit of spluttering and paddling he managed to make it over to the taller boil and wrap his arms around Bul's neck, in much the same way he had held onto Yaya as she swam around. Thankfully it was only a loose hold, not the sort one would expect from a water piranha about to drag it's victim to it's watery doom.

It made for a hard un-life, being too short to touch the ground.

"Yeah that happens," Jericho shrugged at the mention of pruning up. He hadn't quite started to do that yet but most likely he would pretty soon. Swimming around a little more leisurely now since the lesson seemed to have ended, he dove down for a little, keeping his wings tucked back to try and avoid drag.

Though, he supposed that he might be able to try and use them as a sort of makeshift fin.

Hmm....
