Though he tried not to, Chris couldn't help but laugh as Xander squeezed the squeaky toy.

Xander chuckled and put the squeak toy in the basket. He didn't really need it but he wanted it for some reason. It made Chris laugh, and if they never met up again he wanted something small to remember him by. Not just memories of turning bright red and being told to come back into a leather emporium shop...
"Sorry, couldn't resist. Have you ever had a pet?"

"I've had a couple... I had a pet snake once, and a pet rat.... not at the same time of course.." he said with a bit of a laugh "I don't think they'd of gotten along to well..."

Xander chuckled and started picking out a few brushes and combs for the kids.
"I've never had anything that exotic. I had a kitten for a while but it was more of a street cat than anything. It was such a tramp, getting food from almost every house it visited." Xander shook his head with a smile.

"I always wanted a cat, but my mother was allergic so I wasn't allowed to have one.... she didn't ever like the snake or the rat much, but they didn't make her sneeze so she let me keep them...."

"You're almost better of with a snake or a rat, they'd be more affectionate." Xander laughed softly. "Cats are just too independant for their own good sometimes..."
He plucked up a couple more chew toys and a tug leash with a huge knot in the middle then glanced up at Chris.
"Do you think that's enough for a dozen kids?"

Xander nodded and took Chris's free hand in his own, heading toward the counter to pay for it. If it was less items then he might have tried to lift them but for one he was with company and two if it ever got back to the people at the caravan they'd be pissed.
"Are you hungry?"

Xander wasn't sure if he was supposed to let go or not but Chris didn't seem to mind overly much. So when he'd paid for the puppie toys and the like he switched both shopping bags to one hand and took Chris's hand once more.
"Do you wanna hit the food court with me? Or maybe go to a street vendor for hot dogs. I passed one guy out there that has steamy saurcraut to put on them. If the wind's died down it should be okay to sit outside and eat them."

"Either one is fine with me.." Chris nodded "Do you want me to carry one of those bags..?" he asked as they walked along.

Xander offered him the lighter bag filled with chew toys and the like and smiled brightly. "Yeah thanks. I wonder if I should rent a cab to get back to the caravan, I dunno if I can lug this the entire way... then again I think Yi Xian said something about meeting me later."
Xander wrinkled his nose at the thought, not to pleased to be meeting with the furry casanova. He shook his head to rid him of the thoughts and smiled at Chris.
"So... teriyaki? I hear they have a great Chinese joint up the stairs, I'm pretty much ready to eat anything right now so I'm not picky."
Never had been really considering he ate out of garbage cans when he had to...

"Sounds good to me.." Chris said with a nod "and, if you want.. I could walk with you to, the caravan was it..? and help you carry some of this stuff..." he smiled to Xander as he spoke.

Xander blushed slightly, not used to the attention at all. He nodded silently and moved over to the escalator, twisting slightly so he could watch Chris as they rose up to the second level.
"If you don't mind that'd be great, I'd love the company." Xander spoke shyly, ducking his head. "Are you sure you have the time though? Isn't there anything else you'd rather do than have me bug you all night long?"
