Sere raised an eyebrow at Halley, as she peered at him from where she had lain her chin on her arms, almost asking 'What?' She shrugged to herself as he started out of the room, instead focusing on Kouji. "What're you doing, Whitey?" She asked blithely, trying to seem interested. She winced slightly as she heard the door open, and layed her head on her arms, shutting her eyes as if snoozing, cracking one eye open to a mere slit, and trying not to flinch when she saw Kit's face. He looked pissed, not to mention he seemed to be limping.

--

Niko trotted quickly after him, ignoring the bunch of pillow-like fluff and the apparent "hump" she had, due to her wings being underneath Kit's coat. They went this way... She thought to herself, as she followed the very quickly fading heattrail that Louis and Kit had left behind him, till she came up to a house, the lights on inside and a silhouette of a man and a child shining through the window. She made a dash up to the door, not bothering to knock since it was so cold out, and hurriedly slipping inside, shutting the door with a quiet click.
PostPosted: Fri Mar 31, 2006 7:23 pm

-Kouji had done absolutly nothing. He had not uttered a word to her, nor had he really budged. Those fatigued eyes of his were wavering, and he looked out of shape. Tiredness. Tiredness. However, he'd been working himself. He'd told himself! and he wouldn't. Without a sound he began to rise. However, the sound of the door had startled him somewhat. His head had turned, eyes blinking for the first time. Kit? Without a jacket, and he looked positivly angry! Halley had done something, Kouji knew that. They'd all left. Lukus had mentioned a plan to spy on Kit. Had... Halley been caught? Kouji discarded the thought and escourted himself out of the room, into the kitchen. He'd left the paper he'd been drawing on the floor. Marks, scratches, no picture. Was that what he drew? No, not at all! Anyone who had managed a peek at Kouji's drawings knew he could draw a lot more than scribbles.-

-Kit's eyes had been narrowed. His first reaction had been: Don't get pissed. Don't get pissed. You wouldn't have noticed if Louis got out either. Don't get pissed... she's just a teenager... Don't get pissed. Don't get pissed. The words were repeated over and over. However, he felt a tiny bit of dorment rage because of the urgency of the situation. Louis, for one, had been out of the house. Secondly, the key to his functioning, or rather, sanity, was missing. Both reasons were perfect means for growing irritated with the girl who was suppose to be babysitting. Although, Kit suspected something had occured. He was almost positive Louis had not left the house on his own. The child was not adventurous like that. He was an indoor boy who loved solitude! Thus, Kit had reason to believe there was something he had not caught, did not understand, and that only Louis would likely tell him about.

His throat was cleared, lips positioned to form a bit of a harsh face. It was all too easy to tell he was angry. But, if one were to play innocent, they would not know the reason for the sudden temper. For those who knew, the guilty, it was all too obvious. It was Louis. Louis' appearence at that restraunt. One thing was certain about the evening: a particular teenager was most definetly not going to recieve a call to babysit again, and, more than likely, she was not going to even recieve payment.

Hesitantly, Kit moved to set Louis on the floor. He tried to be casual, although it was difficult. His ankle hurt, and he was as worried as a mother hen as the eggs were being taken away. Stupid ankle. Stupid situations. Stupid trouble! why him? Why on such a good night, when he'd finally found a good date? a fine date! She'd been rather nice looking, not boring or so masculine that Kit felt he would be more comfortable finding a man to appease him... Unfortunatly, irony hit him in the face. Halley's friend's mother had been his date. The babysitter. A rather loud sigh of vexation was thrown into the open as the man straigtened himself. nothing was said for a moment... And then, in the fatherly, adult tone he nearly never used, he spoke. He opened his mouth and let the words flow freely.- "Take it there was no trouble?" -That tone... Hidden irritation, or rather, irritation being held back. Seeing Sere on the couch had ruffled him a bit more. Louis. Restraunt. Sere. Couch. but, it didn't work that way. He knew something had happened, and he wanted to know.-

-Louis had not figured the plushie out. Despite that, he had stopped observing the illusion. He'd held it, and he had sat still. a blank expression was on his face. He looked... Like a zombie? No. He looked like one of those things! A manican? The stupid figures in front of stores.-

Sere's shoulders bunched slightly, her muscles tense as she looked over her shoulder at Kit, feigning complete boredome. "Nope, nada." She said simply, shrugging a little as her wings ruffled from the motion. "Louis disappeared a little while ago, though apparently you found him." With that, she sat up, stretched slowly till she heard her muscles crack, then stood up. "Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go upstairs." She said airily, before weaving around the corner and walking slowly upstairs, looking around for a few minutes for Halley's room. Finally locating it, she tapped on the door with her fingernails softly, whispering "Halley?"

--

Niko walked into the living room; she had heard Kit asking someone something, Sere maybe? And lo and behold, when she came in, the blonde-goth was stretched out on the couch, with an expression showing she could care less, and Kit, still holding Louis, and trying to awkwardly balance on one foot. Niko frowned, before stepping up beside him. "Here, let me take him..." She said, carefully taking Louis from Kit, while also trying to hide the torn and mangled toy from the boy's view as Sere stood up and left. Niko frowned again, wanting to glare at her daughters retreating back, but she knew there was no point, and instead, sat on the couch and sighed, her head resting in her hands with Louis in her lap.

-Kit's throat was cleared again as the girl made her way away. Ah, he had needed to control himself. Bloody ankle! He was riled, wired, and jumpy, which was never a good thing. He'd learned his temper was insane at times, thus he was thankful he'd been able to not suddenly explode as she stated Louis had wandered off. Louis... Wander off? He wasn't certain it was a probable idea! It sounded too unlike Louis, too illogical. However, if that had been the case... He doubted it. There was simply an air of awkwardness floating all about the house.

As Louis was taken Kit found he could balance a little easier on his injured ankle. It was sore, and it felt odd, but he was sure it was fine. It certainly wasn't the first time he'd ever hurt himself. Kit was a hazard case at times for himself.- "Teenagers..." -He murmured under his breath before stating something else.- "Couldn't... find it?"

----

-Halley had gone up to his room for, more or less, shelter. His chest was a bit tight, and his mind running at the speed of mach three. Sere was likely going to get pinned for everything, for not watching Louis, for... Everything. But, it wasn't her. It was him. He'd asked her. He'd suggested it, and he couldn't understand why! Curiosity, was a possibility. He had truly wanted to know how Kit's dates were going, but then he had gotten the urge to ruin it, not only to save the skin of both Halley and Sere from ever becoming step siblings, but also for pleasure. The very idea of causing the havoic had sounded utterly appetizing.

He was seated on his bed; his hands were tucked within his hair, and his head was bowed. The shivering was still occuring, and he seemed to be talking to himself a bit, muttering things that were completly incomprehendable. As the door was tapped on he felt his body completly tense. Who was it?! A bit of dread engulfed him. What if it was Kit heading to tell him it'd been a mistake to hire Sere, which, on his part, probably had been, and then that Halley could never see her again? Never see her again over a stupid little complication in his plan... Or rather, the concieving of the plan in general. Why? Why? His body softened as he realized it was not Kit. Sere?- "Unlocked." -He'd stated hesitantly. For once, no movement was made to hide his materials from public view. He left the siamese cat plushie with the pink ribbon on his lap, where he had set it when he had sat down, and he had left the plushie Sere had given him in plain view also.

Halley's room was fine. It was clean. It was organized. The first thought one might have had was that halley was a geek, which was half true. A bookshelf was lined against the wall nearest to the door, dozens of books set on it. They were all complicated reading and subjects. Brainiac books, one might call them. Theories, collections of old epics, collections of old stories, plays, poetry... The shelf consisted of massive books, thick books. Although, there was one slender, short book on the shelf titled some childish title. A child's book on that shelf was suspicious. Regardless, it was hardly noticable. Next to his bed was a night stand, like in most rooms. A lamp was seated on it, along with a box of some sort and then another fairly large book... Psycology? What the hell was Halley reading a psycology book for? After the night stand was the bed. That was neatly made, excluding how the pillows seemed to fall. The covers were bland, normal. Solid color blue. all and all, Halley's room looked a bit like an office for a buissness man. A desk was even against one wall, although it was void of any material! The only difference between an office and the room was really just the bed.

Before Sere did anything more, came in, spoke, during a brief intervention of interaction, Halley had shifted a bit and brought the siamese cat closer. Comforting little thing that he didn't want to let go at that moment, not at all. Not for a while...-

Niko shook her head as she held Louis, resting her chin ontop of his blond curls. "No, I found it... But I'm not sure Louis would want it back..." She said, shifting awkwardly as she passed to toy to him, squirming a little to keep it out of Louis's eyesight. "I think it got run over..."

---

Sere quickly slipped in, shutting the door quietly so it wouldn't be as loud, if Kit or Niko were listening for it. Once she was sure no one was coming upstairs, she took a moment to look around, raising an eyebrow at all the books. "Read much?" She asked, grinning faintly, though in the light it could be mistaken for a smirk. She shifted slightly, before walking carefully over to the bed, not sure if his floor creaked like hers did sometimes. Sitting on the bed, she folded her legs up indian-style, the bottoms of her pants hanging over the edge of the bed, since they were a few sizes too big for her. "Dunno if Kit believed me. Told him Louis wandered off. Niko came in right as I went up." She said with a shrug, deciding not to comment on the stuffed animals and plushie.

-s**t!, had been the first word to pop into Kit's mind at the sight of the mutilated Panda-Pan. It wasn't a good thing, and he was sure something horrid was going to happen in response. His mind spun for a brief moment. He didn't know how to sew things, and it looked as if the plushie deeply needed repairing. His face had scrunched as he took the plushie. He looked at each of the pieces sorrowfully, as if he'd just lost a very important game, perhaps? His tail had drooped a tad, as had his ears...- "not like this, he wouldn't..." -Kit had whispered, thinking of options for him. He knew he could take it to a repair shop he knew of, one that fixed toys and such... But he was certain it wouldn't come back looking new. It was filthy, broken, possibly missing cotton from within. The young man's heart began to sink a little.- "What's worse... I can't sew." -He'd added.- "I... guess I need to get it-- Him, fixed. Toy shop that would do it." -He seemed to be talking more to himself than anyone else.-

-Louis had not noticed anything. He had not noticed the removal of his hood to his panda outfit, which left his head exposed, nor had he noticed the mauled Panda-Pan. He'd been sitting there. Blank. Empty. Had he noticed the illusion wasn't the real thing? No. Had he noticed, anyone who knew Louis would know the boy would have cried a while before suddenly ceasing actions. It was how it always went. There was always a bit of time to stop it from happening...-

---

-Halley had not responded to her question over his reading. In truth, reading was almost all he did when not around Sere. He would read for hours, or rather, study. He never read for complete pleasure, always to benefit himself or someone else.

A bit of pressure occured as the girl sat down on the bed and began to explain what she had told Kit. Louis wandering off? He laughed inwardly at the very though. However, he nodded and decided it was possible. Kit could not deny what was possible. He could suspect, be uncertain, but he could never deny it and say it was false unless he had proof. Regardless... Sere... Halley had shifted. He'd set his stuffed animal down before glancing at Sere. He looked guilty, regretful.- "I... Don't know if he'll buy it completly..." -He'd spoken with the same amount of hesitance he had before. Sere. Kit. Not seeing her again. The possibilities! But, it wasn't her. It was him. He'd done it! Why? He kept asking himself why, not really expecting an answer from his brain.- "Doesn't matter. Won't let him do anything." -He'd gone to mumbling a little. As if by involuntary action, Halley leaned. He didn't know what he was doing. His mind was talking to him, telling him what would likely happen if Louis were not alright. Sere. Blame. Never again lay eyes upon... His mind kept repeating it, and it made his heart ache. She was the only person outside of his family that he dreamed of seeing. She was the only one he really knew. Sluggishly, he continued leaning foward towards her, until he'd ended up having to balance himself with his hands on the bed and twist his body a bit more than he had when he'd turned to face her. With hardly a thought he moved, moved quickly, yet seemingly slowly, to press his lips against her. Never see Sere again if Louis were not okay... Never tell her... No, no. Halley's mind had not been able to allow that, thus had taken control. A kiss. Emotions exposed.-

Niko looked up at Kit, her smile gone. "Kit... I-I think I can fix it... I don't know. I have magick, and I can heal injuries, and mend occasioanl tears, but this is larger then the stuff I usually fix. Here, take Louis..." She said, trailing off as she handed the boy back to Kit. "And sit down, drat, I know a sprained ankle when I see it!" She said, pushing him, gently, down to sit on the couch, with Louis in his lap while she took the panda. Walking back outside, she sat down on the front step, resting her head on her knees. I can do this... She mentally told herself, before resting her hands on the panda's belly, shutting her eyes beneath the kerchief. Slowly, she drew on the "threads" inside her, pulling them out and "wrapping" them around the stuffed animal, their presence only shown by a faint glowing around it; her magick was nothing like the flashy, sparkly and useless magicks that many other people used.

--

Sere had fallen silent as she thought. "Yeah, I'm not exact the best damned actor..." She muttered quietly, not noticing that Halley had started moving, not till he was right in her face, filling her vision with his white skin and red eyes, red like roses...

She shook her head, chasing away that idea. The ******** is wrong with me... She asked herself, when she felt a light pressure on her lips, causing her eyes to widen. Sere's muscles tensed, since she wasn't sure what to do. She was still for a moment, before she relaxed a little. Damnit, what if Kit brings his a** up here? Me'n Halley kissing, babysitter and "baby," what'll that look like...? Again, she shoved the idea back, as she didn't quite lean into the kiss, but she didn't resist or push agaisnt it either. One of her hands twitched a little, as she resisted the urge to bring an arm up.
PostPosted: Sat Apr 01, 2006 2:49 pm

-It had occured quickly. Kit's mind had just been twitching, spazzing. He was a spaz at times. He always freaked out during critical situations, which was why he'd sworn he'd never do anything that required major choices. He was the follower, not the leader, because of that spaz and flipping. Never calm, never calm.

His mind had started easing as she stated something about being able to fix Panda-Pan. Was it fixable? Well, if he were alone it would be impossible. Kit could not sew, and the extent of his "magical" traits was being able to swim fast. Of course, that was more of a physical trait. Webbed feet. Fin feet. Odd feet... He tried not to think about his feet as he was handed Louis and knocked onto the couch. It had not been brutal, but it had startled him a bit. He sat. He held Louis, and he tried not to spaz. He couldn't express how upset he was... Just couldn't. The comment of sprained ankle echoed in his ear as he remembered the stupid thing. Damn ankle! he'd had to twist it.- "Ankle's fine." -He stated, stuborness shining through. Despite that, he had not attempted to get up, or stop her as she went back outside. He could only hope...-

----

-A momentary shut down of the brain. Halley had been a zombie in action, but not so much in expression. Guilty, afraid, nervous about what was possibly going to happen. All of it had shone clearly in his eyes before they closed. No other thoughts had been in his mind, and even as the actions occured his mind had diverted his attention away from how it felt. It was a first, and somethin he would have likely never attempted were he not incredibly stressed and plagued by anxiety. He didn't want anything to happen. Halley did not want Kit to find out, get angry, and then cut all ties between Halley and her! A bit more of a press. Holding it. Holding it. The brain forced it to continue, forced Halley's fists to close around the blanket they'd been shoved against to help him balance. Then, as if a clock that had stopped had started to move again, he pulled himself away. Three things were obvious with the passing of it, Halley's skin was soft, and he resembled an albino. Of course, he was not albino... Or was he? And lastly... Halley felt more than aquaintenceship between him and Sere. He'd kissed her, and friends did not kiss friends the way he'd done it.

A moment or so had passed, Halley not moving away from where he'd been. He'd kept close to her face for a moment. Those red eyes of his had opened a bit. Were he the romanitc sort he might have said something cheesy. However, he did nothing. Silence. Solitude.-

As Niko wrapped the "threads" around the toy, the black and white threads from one of the legs popped out, snaking about for a moment, before, almost sluggishly, weaving back through the bottom of the torso, reattaching the leg with a quiet shhff. One leg done... She thought; already, she was tiring herself. She tried working quicker, frowning fiercely as seams started re-threading, sewing themselves back up. It took her at least ten minutes to fix most of it, and one of the plushie's ears would probably be crooked, unless someone else fixed it, but it was fairly whole now. Resisting the urge to fall over, since that had really drained her, she clumsily stood up, shuffling back into the living room. "K-Kit, here..." She mumbled, holding out Panda-Pan to him and Louis, as her eyes shut, the heat-splotches fading out as she felt herself fall to the floor.
(Fainted from exhaustion.)

--

Seres shifted uncomfortably as he pulled away, her cheeks stained with a bright redish color, the first time she'd really blushed so much that it was noticeble. Her face felt hot, like it was burning; the red stain was spread across her nose and cheeks, and as Halley pulled away, she opened her eyes a little, watching him for a second before looking to the side, suddenly shy. "Uhmm..." She broke the silence, though she was still quiet. "So..." She couldn't think of anything to say, nothing that wouldn't embarass her.
PostPosted: Sat Apr 01, 2006 6:21 pm

"Incase Kit finds out..." -Halley'd murmured, mind still having control of him. Braniac kid. His mind owned his body. The boy sat bad, his head turned away. He looked utterly sad, rather than embaressed or even pleased.- "He definetly... Won't let it go if everything doesn't work out... He's like that. He holds grudges sometimes..." -Halley's hands had continued to hold the blanket tightly, grip it, squeeze it. He'd jsut kissed Sere? The masquerade him had been nearly knocked senseless, what was truly Halley out in the open, exposed. His voice even sounded a tad different. It was softer, much more gentle, not so direct or professional.- "S..So you gotta know now." -Real Halley said... Real Halley, not the one with the fake smiles, not the one with the false happiness. It was Halley. He was himself, for once. Concern rang in his voice, genuine concern!- "'m sorry. If he says anything to you... Tell him to talk to me... Maybe then he won't... Hold a grudge." -The demon shrank back, leaning a distance away from the angel. His head was suddenly bowed.- "At least I know he probably won't marry your mom. Hopefully."

----

-Kit had waited, watched Louis with nervous eyes. The kid wasn't doing anything! No blinking... No moving... Nothing. Kit had stared at the child, watched anxiously, anticipating any sign of actual life! When Niko walked in he'd looked, almost startled at the way she moved, and spoke. She seemed tired, completly fatigued, thus when she fell to the floor after handing him Panda-Pan, slightly banged up, but not as broken as before, Kit had not been entirly suprised. He'd looked at the plushie, then Louis. What to do... Without a word he'd set the plushie next to the boy and had done the gentleman thing. He'd tried to pick her up, and pick her up he had done. His legs had ached, and his ankle had ached more. Regardless, he went up the stairs of the house and headed to his room, just down the hall from Halley's. The door was nudged open, and Niko carried to the messy, unmade bed. Still silent, Kit had set her down. Damn. He owed her. She'd fixed Panda-Pan! She'd actually done it...-

She didn't respond at first, before murmering. "You think you could do anything? I don't give a s**t about Kit, or about what he or Niko say." She shrugged. "I make my own choices, be-damned they may be." Sere wrinkled her nose, growling at the idea. "Marriage? Who said anything about ******** marriage? Not if I can damned well help it." She stated, nodding her head to emphasize her point. She seemed a little hesitant, but her fingers twitched where the lay on the bed, her hand moving a fraction of an inch nearer Halley's, before she put her arms behind her, propping herself up by resting on her elbows. No, what's going on...? She thought. He's younger then me; is that wrong? I've never really cared for moral issues, but I'm 3 years older then him...!

---

Niko's head hung slightly over Kit's arm, her wings trailing on the floor as she was carried upstairs. As she was brought into Kit's room and set on the bed, she twitched, her eyes opening slowly to see Kit's warm heat-splotch above her. Niko smiled a little bit, sitting up a little before putting a hand to her head. "Damnit. Conked out, did I?" She asked; one could hear the fatigue in her voice.

-The odds of him being able to do anything was as slim as a piano wire. Halley was not a god of speech. He could not persuade a man like Kit to do anything, especially if the person were angry over certain things. Despite that, Halley felt he could manage something, that he could take a stand if nessicary. He never stood for himself. But, he wouldn't lie... He didn't ever want to. He just wanted things to flow his way, the right way. He shifted, feeling a bit uneasy as he thought, and thought. Damn. He'd been an idiot! but, he hadn't been able to help it... And it was Louis' fault, not his. No. It was his. It was both their faults. Louis had run up to Kit, and Halley had neglected everything he'd ever never tried to neglect before. His lips twitched.- "Crazy." -He murmured. A smile managed it's way onto his face as he listened to Sere's words. A smile? It shone, unlike every other smile he'd really given to the girl. It was... Odd.- "I wouldn't let it happen, either. Would be wierd, too wierd." -Never see her again. no. He'd see her again. Kit wouldn't do anything... and even if he did... But, still! Halley's mind ached.-

----

-Kit had blinked as she'd started to wake up. so soon? Oh! Now he hated himself for hiking up the stairs... But, he had not been capable of ignoring the woman. She'd helped. She'd fixed Panda-Pan. That was good, and he really owed her. Not really. He totally owed her something. He grinned, let out a sheepish laugh, soft, short lived.- "Afraid you did. Scared me a little down there." -He said, sounding a bit relieved, but also a bit pained. Damn ankle. He'd get over it. He just need to rest it, then he'd be fine.- "I owe you... you really fixed it." -He gave a nod, smile fading.- "If you're tired, you're welcome to stay. I'd give you a ride home, but I'm afraid I can't drive. Never really learned, you know?"

Again, Sere fell silent as he spoke. After he finished talking, she shrugged slightly, mentally smiling in response to his smile, the first one she'd seen him wear that didn't look fake. "Eh, you could always run away if Kit did anything." She said, waving a hand idly.

--

Niko laughed, grinning before shutting her eyes again, and brushing his knee with her fingertips. She tugged the "threads" again, even though she knew it wasn't a smart idea, and "wrapped" them around his ankle, again, their presence only shown by an ever so soft glimmer of light, like dim fireflies. The "threads" wrapped loosely around his ankle, just numbing some of the pain, and replacing the bone a fraction of an inch. It wouldn't help overly much, but it wouldn't hurt as much, and would heal quicker. Once the "threads" disappeared, she leaned her head back again. "Feel better?" She asked, indicating his ankle.
PostPosted: Sun Apr 02, 2006 4:42 pm

-He had not even thought of running away. Run away... It would work, if anything drastic was done. Halley would do it! If he had to, he would. At least, he thought he would. Maybe he wouldn't? No. No. He would. A somber expression was on his face, but the smile had remained where it had been. Such an odd smile. Too kind, too unusual, but flattering, nice.- "Yeah, that's true." -His smile grew a bit, and his face softened.-

---

-Not much feeling. kit had hardly known what was going on. Ah, captain oblivious, lord of unknowing. Then again, Kit wasn't incredibly oblivious. He was not blind, thus, when she asked if he felt better he had known what she'd meant.

Nothing was said at first. Quickly, Kit had turned his head away. He felt terrible. She'd fixed Panda-Pan, and had even then tried to help with the stupid ankle? He owed. He was definetly in debt, but what the hell could he give? He decided he would think on it, figure something out later.- "Yeah." -His face was turned back to the woman.- "Does... Feel a lot better." -A sheepish laugh.- "I... Need to check on Louis. If you're tired, go ahead and get some rest... Or, do you want me to fetch your daughter and bring her to you?"

She fidgeted nervously; she hadn't a clue what to do next, but a sudden urge made her lean forward, and place a light kiss on Halley's lips. Sere wasn't at all sure where her feelings lay at the moment; she really liked Halley, though she'd never admit that. But he was younger then her, and she also liked Duncan well enough, and those were really the only two guys that she had ever met and liked well enough to hang out with more then once. She lingered for a moment, before pulling back suddenly, blushing a bright rosey red.

--

Niko smiled as he confirmed that it was better. Not that I could do too much, after the stuffed panda... She blinked when he mentioned Sere. She had forgotten, in her concentration with the panda. "Umm... Just leave her for now, I guess, as long as she doesn't leave the house. If I talk to her now, I'll probably forget what I'm talking about." She grinned, laughing sheepishly. "And alright. Come back and tell me if he's alright, kay?"
