Blinking with a rather enthusiastic smile towards Ren who had welcomed her Nekhbet felt a little more pleased with the booth she had come to join than she had previously. "My name is Nekhbet, or Nek for short if you really must". Her eyes still scanning over the mass of boils around her, no one seemed to stick out much except the strange she-wolf who seemed to be narrowing her eyes at her. Perhaps she was jealous she hadn't come to say hello yet. Well who could keep a boil waiting!?

Puffing up her chest eagerly, Nekhbet seemed to glide swiftly towards the two wolves they looked like a great way to start out in this strange crowd. Settling down with them Nekhbet still seemed to be smiling. "Good day boils! My name is Nekhbet, or Nek for short if you must." The bug loving mummy girl had come to realize people liked to shorten her name quite a bit as they had a hard time with her name. Thankfully she didn't get angry over the name.

The booth was starting to really draw in he crowd and Tahki was starting to feel smaller and smaller and more panicked by the second. She turned her head to Moure who had asked her if she was a student. Tahki gave him a small nod.

"Y-yes I am. Im.." She looked at Ren and LW who had been kind enough to let her hide out in their booth, "Considering member ship," She gave Moure a nod.

Tahki sunk back into her pillow hugging her knees to her self and rested her head on her knee. She simply watched all the new comers feeling a little too overwhelmed at this point to sneak off.

"Pleased to meet you, Nek!" Ren said, giving the ghoul a mock salute in greeting. "Always glad to have a new face here!

He grinned at Moure, dropping into an overexaggerated, melodramatic bow. "Congratulations, good sir! For having the best time in the Time Trial, you have won a prize of your choice!"

He gestured towards the pile of minipets, letting the patchwork choose one for himself. Moure already seemed as if he would be a good addition to the club; smart, driven, good-natured...Ren flashed a happy smile at LW; it had taken some time for the club to get off the ground, so he was absurdly pleased that it was doing so well now. Not to mention he could at least be genuinely happy here, instead of plastering on one of his many falsely cheerful smiles that he had begun to have since returning home from the field trip.

Fwoomp.

Something had dropped beside him. Still sitting beside Haze, Ren turned his head, glancing down. A pile of fluffs had appeared and that could only mean one thing.

"Jove!" Ren said happily, beaming up at the puppy. "You made it!"

He caught the look on his little brother's face and Ren's expression turned to one of innocence, looking at Tybalt then back up at Jove. "What?" he said sheepishly, letting his shoulders rise and fall in a who, me? gesture. "He started it."

His eyes moved to Haze, immensely amused that the dragon seemed so into the game. "It's fun, huh?" he said, grinning, then gestured to Jove. "By the way, for anyone who doesn't know, this is Jove - he's my little brother."

Ren had probably just embarrassed the poor puppy, but the sound of his name being called made him turn his head. A familiar ghoul was making her way towards them and Ren's smile widened as he pushed himself to his feet.

"Tset, darling, wonderful to see you," he said, taking one of her hands in his own bandaged one and squeezing her fingers. He pulled her towards LW, Jove, Tahki and Haze. "Look, wolflove, look who's joined us!"

Moure noticed that it seemed Winona was becoming more audible. Maybe the ghoul was simply opening up? Well, whatever the case, Moure gave her a thumbs-up in return when she spoke. "It was a good game. I'll look forward to playing against you again." He finished his statment with a grin, then noticed someone/thing run in.

Turned out, the running thing was actually a puppy-like boil, also apparently he Ren's little brother (...?), named Jove. Jove, the bearer of fluffy wisps, apparently. Well, the pup looked friendly...sort of, anyway. Moure would have to see if the boil liked running for fun (Moure was always on the look out for people to jog with, of course.).

Another ghoul, one with a modest outift and pale eyes, appeared too. She, however, seemed a bit more reserved. (Probably more like how Moure was when he wasn't around Scario Karters (seriously why was he talking so much??)) She didn't look too confident about the Scario Kart games, but that was fine here. She started talking with Ren and LW though, so Moure figured she was in good hands.

The white gyphoness, Tahki, had responded. "I see." He gave a nod also. "Well, maybe I'll see you around campus then, if not at the club meetings." She seemed a bit shy, but if she was here, that meant something, at least.

After Ren had bowed, Moure gave a nod and half a smile. "Thank you. I didn't actually think there would be prizes..." And the patchwork had been proven wrong, as there was indeed prizes. After all, now he had a black and blue orb (it was called a Hector, right...?) from the prizes in his hands. This was turning out to be the best first Open House Moure could have imagined. It seemed, from Ren's reactions, that perhaps the gryphon approved of Moure eventually joining the club, too.

Edel had never seen something – or played something so.....fascinating. Her blue eyes were completely fixated on the skelevision screen, watching the colourful images of the rainbow road track flicker by. Exhilaration surged as she kept accelerating...accelerating....acce-

>> Finish <<

Edel stared blankly at the screen, still toggling the controllers and pressing buttons. Oh, she muttered to herself in disappointment. She would have so wanted to play some more, but buried the thought in embarrassment. She consoled herself with the thought that perhaps some day she would get another chance to have a go again.

Putting her controllers down, Edel turned to face Moure, a little taken aback and abashed by the compliment (she had nearly let it slip pass her, being so caught up in the game). She really had no idea how she actually fared – safe to say she had been winging it from the get go. “T-thank you-” she stuttered a little, still hyped up with adrenaline, “it indeed is my first go at this game. I must say it's really good fun!” Taking a glance at Moure's skelevision screen, Edel exclaimed “Wow! You really are good at this! Perhaps you could teach me properly sometime.” Slowly getting back from the game, it took some time for Edel to notice that there were others watching and cheering for her and the other prospective students. Smiling shyly, she and thanked LW and the gryphon ghoul, Tahki for their support at the sidelines.

Turning around, she caught a little bit of what seemed like a bicker between Ren and Tybalt(she was still amused by his nickname, though she figured he didn't take to kindly to it). More new people had arrived at the booth too. So much had gone past her while she was playing – it was a little embarrassing for her to admit. LW had just made an announcement : Moure had won round 1 of the races.

“Congratulations Moure!” she cheered, breaking into a smile as he got up to receive his prize.

Even more people had arrived – two official students it seemed, from the way Ren had greeted them. Jove and Tsetiliya, and the former was Ren's younger brother?! Edel observed the puppy like boil who had brought with him a pile of fluffs. Brothers? She thought to herself doubtfully – they didn't look too alike save the freckles, Oh he meant brothers .... (Edel might have been feeling a tinge of envy for being the only child.)

The fluffs that had just arrived were cute, but something else had caught Edel's eye. Strange cats with rainbows trailing behind them – that she had to see.

Getting up from her comfy seat, she thanked Ren and LW for the opportunity to try out Scario Karting, promising to return to the booth after looking around the others. Turning to Moure, she said “I'll be other there at that....pink booth (for the lack of a better word, besides, the booth WAS covered in pink). It's been a pleasure meeting you.” Giving a little bow and a curtsey (OH EDEL), Edel paced excitedly towards the rainbow emitting creatures. Too intriguing.

Where the jacking hell had that runt wandered off t- There! Finally. Seiji had followed him out of the library and towards the gym, but had easily lost him in the crowd, not surprising when you considered the whisp's speed. He'd followed his first instinct though, heading towards the booth of the club run by one of Jove's best friends, and was happy to see he'd guessed right.

"Geez pup, with that speed, how come you're not on track?" He chuckled as she walked up to the group, smiling easily at everyone gathered around. Seems the other smaller ghost had also followed along, also surprisingly quick, and of course there was Ren. "Hey man, nice set up."

Video games, the hungry ghost approved.

Tybalt couldn't help but stick his tongue out and give a disgusted look at the thought of Ren trying to educate him on games. He didn't want to learn anything from him. All they'd probably end up doing is bicker anyways. Hopefully it was like LW's tone and that she wasn't serious about it.

Leaning back a little, he noticed that the others were doing quite well at the games. One in particular seemed to have a lot of experience. Perhaps he was a game junkie?

"Sheesh! You guys are going to make me look bad." He said with a crooked grin, watching as all the karts shoot across the finish line. Well, maybe all of them. He may be able to beat the dragon boil at least.

"Hah! This gets better and better!" He laughed; slapping his hand against his knee, as the same dragon boil plastered his body to the screen; convinced that there were people actually living in it. What kind of backwater land did he come from to not even know what a skelevision was?

Priceless!

"Uhh, I've only played a little." He admitted to Winona. "To be honest, I've barely touched it." He added, scratching the side of his cheek and kicking his feet lightly against the table's leg. Only sensing Jove's presence when Ren spoke.

"Started what?" He asked. "I'm innocent of anything!" He stated, trying to look as innocent as he could and refusing to look either the wisp or the gryphon in the eye. Or even LW for that matter. Because it was obvious that it was a lie. But regardless, the black dog was pleased that none made the attempt to remove the tag from the gryphon's back.

Though just as he was about to say something else, another person introduced herself. This one seemed more than likely to be an undead type. With that skin tone, the bandages and stuff. A zombie perhaps? Though looking at her again, she seemed a little different than a zombie.

"Hey there! I'm Tybalt." He greeted Nekhbet; offering his own name in return. "You a visitor?" He asked curiously. His reason being that he still didn't know half the students here and with this being open house and all, he wasn't sure who were actual students and who were the visitors.

Somehow, Cervantes' eyes glossed over every single word except for "racing." If it involved racing, how could it not be the right booth for him? However, he didn't really think about how anyone could race in a busy place like this. He just approached, prepared for the best.

What he found was a group of more creatures than he could get a figure on, as they seemed to be constantly moving around. His eyes flickered back and forth over them, and he beamed widely. In fact, his tail was starting to get sore from all the whipping he was doing involuntarily. There was so much to do! So much to look at! So many [str]tasty critters[/str] curious creatures to meet. What he had initially, from far away, thought was the smell of a packmate was far from it. Up close it just appeared to be the combination of some kind of fluffy dog fox thing and what was likely a werewolf, given its features. He felt more comfortable with the fluffy dog... In any case, he was too excited over the prospect of racing to care.

Van tilted his head and looked over at the pile of minipets and the sticker nametags. It was a good thing he could write. Sort of. The quality was questionable. He opened a couple of the markers in his favourite colours, and started to draw himself a tag. Initially, he was going to write only the shortened form of his name, but then he thought that was maybe rude and informal, so he scrawled in the rest of it on either side in small letters. He even doodled a little crown on his name. When he opened a third marker to add some grey, however, he found out that he was actually using an irridescent blue. Why did it colour over the pre-existing red? Cervantes was not very good with colours, so it didn't really occur to him that such a light colour shouldn't normally trump that dark red, but... well, he was a dog, what was he supposed to do about it.

User Image

He attached it to his bare chest, having opened his shirt again to let a breeze in, and approached the others. Van opened his mouth to say hello, but he became distracted by the sight of the game on the screen.

"I didn't read the sign very well, did I," he wondered aloud, without really explaining what he meant.

LW crossed her legs at the ankle and watched everyone enjoying the skelevisions and Skario kart from her perch on the table. So many new faces! And she was as pleased as her best friend at seeing how many people had come to check out their booth. It really made her happy to see Ren smiling like that again. Hell, she was feeling pretty good herself! The she-wolf gave the gryphon a warm smile when he glanced her way, then looked at the dog next to her. "That might be my new threat for you two. Ren has to teach you how to play Scario Kart." LW teased Tybalt, knowing she'd never take that risk. There would broken things instead of boils racing karts.

Hearing Tahki's soft voice, LW grinned down at the gryphoness. "You should totally join our club, Tahki! We'd be so happy to have you!" LW gave her a big smile and looked back up towards the patchwork. "Congrats on your win, Moure! I hope you'll stick around and participate in some more races. And I'm definitely going to be waiting to see your name appear on the membership list when you are enrolled."

A familiar small boil came hustling their way with equally familiar wisps bundled in his arms. "Hey pup!" LW waved at Jove happily and felt her smile get even bigger when yet another person she knew appeared. "Liya!" LW all but squeaked out with enthusiasm. "How are you?!"

Tail flicking a little, LW watched as the one ghoul whose nametag she couldn't read came towards them. The she-wolf tilted her head curiously at the ghoul. What was she? She carried the earthy scent of the undead students. LW didn't recognize her and had to admit she didn't know the undead students that well. As the ghoul introduced herself, LW didn't miss how she seemed to be talking to the boils more than the ghouls. Interesting. It pulled a giggle out of her that she hid with a cough. At least she knew the ghouls name now, since she couldn't read what was on the nametag. Some other language, though it looked like pictures to her. "Welcome, Nekhbet! I'm glad you stopped by to check out our booth. I'm LW. Feel free to ask me or Ren any questions you might have."

Violet eyes spotted yet another person coming to check out the booth. She was really enjoying her chosen spot next to Tybalt. It let her see new people heading their way. The she-wolf smiled towards Crevantes. "Don't worry, hon. Not many people read the signs. They come to check out what's got the crowds attention." She winked at the boil. "Welcome to the Skario Kart booth, though! We're glad to have you here. Feel free to stick around and check things out. My names LW and that," she gestured towards Ren, "is my partner in crime Ren. If you have any questions, just ask one of us!"

xxxxxDanny just stood there in awe for a moment. A booth ... no a CLUB solely dedicated to one of her favorite games? This had to be the best club here! (Well save for fitness club... and half the other clubs and things she'd seen.) Monitors lit up with little games of scario kart. She watched as a gryphon boy raced, and cheered when he pulled ahead of a few CPUs.

xxxxxNoticing there was a pile of nametags on the table, she filled one out carefully and slapped it on her thigh. She couldn't exactly put it on her chest ... So her pants were the next best place. At least it was orange.

User Image

xxxxxSatisfied with her work, she turned to face the rest of the group. Everyone seemed excited about something, so she said "Hey guys! What's up? Can I play too?" Danny was never one to beat around the bush. She looked at the patchwork boy and noticed the weird orb in his hand. Getting close to it, she blinked a few times and said "Ooooh. What's this? Oh I'm Danny by the way!" She reached out a finger to touch the orb. What did it do?!

Cervantes' ears flicked towards the direction from which LW's voice came from. He smiled widely, his incissors poking into his lower lip, and gave a slight wave of his hand. "My love of reading is trumped by my impatience," he admitted. "A pleasure to meet you, LW; even if I wandered here by mistake, I think I'll stick around for a while."

He turned to Ren, who she gestured towards, and waved again, trying to speak loud enough so that Ren could hear him. "Hey, neighbour, pleased to meet you."

He curled his tail around his waist, and tightened the tie around his hair idly. What was it they were playing? Had he even heard of it before? The skelevisions weren't surprising, he'd seen some of those already, but he hadn't seen a whole lot of ... skario kart? That's what LW said they were playing.

Cervantes wandered over to where LW was sitting, and leaned against the furniture, looking at the game with narrowed eyes. "...It looks... fun!" He grinned. "Virtual racing. In little vehicles. It looks like they go as fast as I wish I could. Hey, LW?" He turned to face her briefly, "What kind of creature are you? When I was walking over, you smelled familiar. Wait-- nevermind, I suspect I'm being rude," he rubbed the back of his neck and turned back to the screens.

That was when he heard Danny talking, though it wasn't to him. He watched as she approached the patched creature's orb, but looked away in disinterest.
PostPosted: Fri Jun 03, 2011 9:10 pm

LW decided she was going to lean towards demon for this boil. She should know demon scents by now, seeing as she'd dated one, was marked by another, and had yet another that always had an eye on her. But, she was picking up...canine vibes from him too? Her violet gaze briefly glanced at Tybalt, wondering if the black dog could sense it too. Or maybe even the pup. "I'm glad to hear it! We always love meeting new faces. It's just an extra bonus if you like Skario Kart as well." She gave Cervantes a sly smile. Her gaze followed his to give her best friend an innocent smile as the boil waved at Ren.

The she-wolf watched the boils face as he came closer and leaned against the booth she and Tybalt sat on, watching his expression. "Oh it is. If you have even the teeniest bit of a competitive nature in you, I bet you'll be hooked on it." She smiled and gave him her full attention for the moment when he asked a question. LW couldn't help but giggle at him and reach over to pat his shoulder. "It's alright. Not rude at all. In fact you'd be surprised at how often that question gets asked around here. I'm a werewolf." Her tail thumped against the table for emphasis. Head tilting, she eyed him. "And what about you, mister? What sort of creature might you be?"

A new voice drew her eye. It was a ghoul that she'd not seen before (why was this not a surprise?). LW figured she wasn't a student and was scouting out the school. "Welcome!" She called over to Danny. "Of course you can play! Join in on the fun! If you have any questions, just as me or my bestie over there, Ren." She indicated the gryphon. "Names LW, by the way." She gave the ghoul a friendly grin, turning back to Cervantes.

"Yeah, yeah." Tybalt waved off LW's words, but shuddered regardless. She almost had him there! But in the end, he figured it was a threat and nothing more and so, decided to ignore it. Probably not the smartest thing to do. But then again, the black dog wasn't very bright to begin with.

With that settled, the black dog kept quiet; keeping his place, perched upon the table, as he watched two more approach the booth. Each grabbing a tag for themselves and signing their names on them. One of which took quite a while as he debated on the colours to use. Perhaps he was artistic? Perhaps... but in the end, the tag was quite difficult to read. Aside from the large 'Van' part in the center. That could be read a mile away.

"You guys both new here?" He asked to the two newcomers. "Visitors, perhaps?"
PostPosted: Fri Jun 03, 2011 10:09 pm

Cervantes' tongue tip tasted the air subtly, as he was inhaling a combined canine scent which couldn't come from LW alone. He wasn't yet adept at telling other types, though. He was so new that all he could do was inhale and try to guess what he was smelling. All three: LW, the one she looked at, and the fluffy pup. They all smelled somewhat familiar, but none of them what he was used to. "To be honest, I have never tried this game at all. Or any game. I spend most of my time running or reading. Those skills don't really transfer to these kinds of things, I don't think?" Cervantes returned a smile at LW, but missed the look she gave Ren. Even if he had seen it, its significance would be lost on him.

Ren seemed like he was pretty nice, or could be. He looked forward to talking with him, sometime. All in all, this group seemed like a good one to have wandered into somewhat mistakenly. Maybe he'd even like the game, too. It'd better not replace running, though. "Competitive? You've got me there," he laughed. "Who doesn't want to be the best?" And although he was not very good with magic, and not as fast as he wanted to be, that was why he was here, wasn't it? So that he could become what he wanted to be. Strong, fast, competent.

"I'm relieved to hear it gets asked often, in case you couldn't tell I am extremely new." Cervantes tugged on his visitor's pass. "Werewolf, ah, that makes a lot of sense. I am one of the Devil's Dogs-- or at least, I am by birth. I should be, if I was up to it." He grinned wide again when LW thumped her tail on the table. Unlike hers, his was thin and more of a demon trait than a dog trait, but that's what it made him think of all the same.

Cervantes looked back at Danny again, as LW drew his attention to her. She really did seem to be more interested in the other though. He turned towards the black dog that that sat beside LW. The second of the canine scents, or so he assumed. "Very new. You guessed right. What can I call you..." Cervantes trailed off as he looked for the black dog's nametag, though he couldn't seem to find it. So he ended in a confused shrug, and a half smile.

"I-It is being wonderful to also see you again," Tsetsiliya replied as Ren stood and approached her. Her cheeks flushed at the contact and her smile only widened. He looked to be doing good, but the feeling of gauze against her own skin made her glance wander to his clutching hand. Guilt seeped acidly up her throat, but as Ren turned and pulled her closer to the booth her smile faltered slightly and she swallowed to push the bad feelings back down. Enough.

LW's exclamation brought the smile right back to her lips. "I-I am being fine.. just looking at the booths. I am not being part of any active clubs yet, so I am seeing what is available." Her eyes took in the paused screens and the controllers. When LW turned her attention back towards the newcomers, she looked up towards Ren. "I am only playing video games once.. b-but games are fun, I am liking them." She still seemed a little hesitant (perhaps some residual guilt as she caught a glimpse of his bandaged hand again), but there was enough curiosity to override that.

However, among the happy and curious crowdgoers, Tsetsiliya's eyes rested on another gryphon who was sitting by herself on the cushions. She felt a little sorry for her - the poor ghoul looked so lost. "I-I am being right back," she said to Ren, before slipping out of his hand and walking over to her.

Oh Jack, she had never really done this before, but she was looking so unhappy!

"P-P-Pardon me," she started, a little roughly. She knelt down on a cushion of her own, tucking in the skirt at her side. "I-I was noticing you by yourself here.. a-are you being alright?" Oh Jack, she was really not good at this.
