Chun Mu fidgeted with the end of her noose as foreign smells wafted into her nostrils. Although she hardly remembered what she ate in her previous life, she knew it definitely didn't smell like this. Most of it was dead and cooked by the time it reached her plate as well.
Chun Mu decided to start her open house at the cafeteria, as she had quite a thing for culinary arts, and the one place she thought would have anything like that, or at least any place with food, would be the cafeteria, where the food is made. Looking at the various colours that were in the meals, MuMu had to force herself not to squirm. She smiled at the nice cafeteria staff who seemed friendly enough, but the screaming from the back of the kitchen bothered her a little.

xxxxxFood.
xxxxxThat was all Paige could think about at the moment. It had taken forever to get to the academy, and rather than tour through nicely set classrooms, or view the extended library like any educated person, Paige had chosen to go for what her gut told her. Right now her gut was telling her it was hungry.
xxxxxPaige quickly and hesistantly waved at the cafeteria staff before quickly sitting down at a table a few spots away from a boisterous crowd talking about ... headphones? Bah, who cared. She just wanted some food.
xxxxxRather enviously, she looked over at the cooking staff. Was she supposed to ask for food? Or maybe she was just supposed to stand up and get it ... Either way, she decided to get up and ask someone. Better than just sitting around. Though a nap sounded pretty good right now too...
xxxxxShe walked up to the boy with grey and purple hair and nudged him. Grumpily, she mumbled, "mmhmphgrhh .. grhh ... food?" Most of what she said was mumbled, but she tried to say the last word as loudly as possible. It wasn't that she didn't know how to talk. On the contrary, the little behemoth could talk up a storm if she was properly fed.
xxxxxHowever, she wasn't, so no, she didn't talk. She just hoped the boy would answer where he got that plate of food from.

Tari smiled at the girl as she spoke. It seemed she wasn't the brightest box of rocks but then again, her cousins normally werent. Her kind were the bright ones, they were the strong ones. She remembered her mother telling her stories about their voracious appitite and their strength when patroling their areas.
Sadly her own clan was one of brains and protection, usually forced to guard one place forever. Rarely did they leave their station unless allowed to. She giggled at the question, "Well that is our prefered way of killing. Hands or teeth work but hands the best. And no, I don't think we are allowed to kill anyone while we are here. I only hope they let me hunt something or I'll go nuts. Maybe sports or something," she mused.
The pink haired boy suddenly sat with them and she smiled pleasently at him, as pleasent as a fanged mouth could stained with the blood of her meal. Speaking of she began to munch on hers, bones and all. She loved a good bloody mess.

After taking a bowl and putting a tiny bit of the oozing soup into it, Chun Mu decides to join the other prospective students. If she were going to go to school here in the future, she might as well get to know some of them. MuMu was warned beforehand of all the different types of creatures that would be here. Monsters with gnashing teeth and pointy horns. And boils, lots of them. That was probably what terrified her the most. She held the tray with the pathetic amount of soup and made her way to a table. She shuffled next to a winged girl with a scorpion tail and whispered "May I please sit here?"
Chun Mu hadn't interacted with anyone but ghosts for the past few decades. She didn't know whether it was refreshing or just downright scary to be speaking with the living again. She shot a quick glance at the pink-haired boil that was sitting next to the winged girl but then quickly looked away. Baby-steps, she thought to herself. MuMu was barely prepared to talk to a ghoul; a boil was just out of the question.

Cady smiled, gulping down another spoonful of broth. Obviously it was safe to swallow that but... She didn't like the idea of this whole 'chewing' thing. She looked back mournfully at all the other foodstuffs she'd grabbed, but returned forlornly to the soup.
"I bet they will have sports in the Jim. I don't know why they would have them in a person but that is what I was told. I hope they have Bruteball. Do you think the Fearleaders have a booth? Is a booth a boot, it sounds like it-" she paused in yet another barely intelligible tirade to look up at the newest ghoul at the table.
"Oh yes you can definitely sit here!" She scooted over a bit. "That is a very nice rope you have, is it neck lace? It doesn't look like lace I know but that's what they are called. It never made sense to me, you know."

Chun Mu smiles and sits down next to the winged ghoul, "thank you," she whispers as she bows her lead lightly. She chuckled softly at the ghoul's question, "I guess you can call it a necklace" she replied quietly, "It's a noose, but I guess it is also used for decorating purposes rather than for it's practical purpose," Her long, pale fingers picked up the spoon and scooped the tiniest amount of soup possible. The goopy substance certainly did not look appetizing, but MuMu was determined to try something new.
As she tasted the soup, she decided that she wouldn't have it again. It had a very strange taste that she didn't quite like. But because she hated to waste food she decided to finish the soup, eventually. MuMu hated to think that food that someone spent time preparing going to waste.
She looked around the table, there were students of all kinds. Chun Mu only took up a very narrow space, trying not to get too close to anyone. She was still deciding whether or not to talk to anyone else.

Edible? Oh goodness no, the chimera was most certainly not on the menu, and the very implication of such left the hairs along the back of her neck bristling. Shoulders tensing as she craned her neck around to peer at the one who'd suggested it. Was she a rival? Perhaps. If so, she was in for a rude awakening.
Merry wasn't sure though, and as such she kept quiet, for now. Least til Nahm commented on nibbling, drawing her attention happily back to him. She hadn't been ignoring him as he spoke, far from it, but she couldn't simply ignore a potential threat. "Surely, I can stick around here s'long as you like." She dropped her chin on the back of her hand once more, resuming her curious plucking at the grue's robe. Not so much to remove them, not here, but simply because it amused her. "I'm not opposed to nibbling in the right occasion." She finally added, almost an after thought.

Practical purposes? She watched the ghoul try the soup, trying to work out what it could be for.
Noose...sounded like goose. And goose had long necks, right? "Is it for catching goose? Goose, noose. Goose noose!" She chanted this cheerfully, and as an afterthought added, "I'm Cady, by the way, it is nice to meet you. If you don't like the soup, I brought a lot of extra stuff," she commented, gesturing at the table behind her that was still sparsely cluttered with dishes.
"I wanted to try everything but maybe it would be not a good idea to eat too much, I want to go to look at the booths and things and food makes me want to take a nap." Just the thought made her yawn a little. Cady did so, widely, and without the presence of mind to cover her mouth.

Charlie had spent a good time looking at his plate trying to figure out just what he had picked up. That was part of the fun of the cafeteria he supposed and usually even if he couldn't tell what he was picking up the food was pretty tasty.
But a ghouls offer to sit by her and her questions caught him off guard.
"Wha- Ummm.. my eyes are squinty?" Charlie would have scratched his head but he couldnt while he was holding a tray. "Are my eyes really squinty?" Charlie sounded really concerned now as he took a seat next to Cady.
"Monster?" He gave the ghoul a look over, "Fffffff I'm a Charlie." A goofy smile unfolded on his face. "Your silly. I like you."

"Thought not," Nahm said, smirking. He was perfectly content to hang out in the cafeteria for the time being, indulging his appetite and enjoying the views. He didn't seem to object to Merry's casual poking at his robes. It was only the outer layer, and as such, bore no threat of painful light leaking in too far.
Personal space? What was that?

Personal space seemed a foreign concept for the ghoul, so it was well that she'd set her attention on someone that didn't seem to mind it. She grinned at him, pretty wings fluffing gently above her back, framing the endless flicker of her tail before relaxing once more.
"Since we're now waiting for any sort of grand unveiling, dare I ask what exactly you are under all that clothe?" If she had to, she could have waited to find out, but it couldn't hurt to ask, could it?

Chun Mu smiled, this ghoul was pleasant to be around. Yes, she may seem a bit clueless and talks a lot, but she was quite friendly, "No, that is not it's purpose, but I guess one could use a noose to catch a goose," MuMu looked at the table behind her and examined all the food items, "Oh, well then I guess I may take something..." Chun Mu's voice trailed off until it was barely audible, she leaned back and took a slice of what looked like toast with something slathered on top of it. Her long tongue dipped down to try what was on the bread, and it was surprisingly delicious. Strange, yes, but still delicious. Her tongue then turned intangible to her annoyance, so she picked up the toast and placed it in front of her mouth.
The voices of boils reached her ears, making her very uncomfortable. The toast hovered at her mouth as she tried to relax. She was surrounded, but she tried not to think of it. MuMu nibbled the toast, hoping it would calm her down a bit.

"Grue," Nahm replied amiably, and gave Merry an extra-wide, toothy, glittery grin for emphasis. "We catch things that wander off in the dark. And eat them." He paused for a bite of bug. Hm. That one had still been alive, at least a little; he crunched it again to make sure it stopped before he swallowed it. "Don't like the light much." He flicked at the edge of his hood.
"How about you? Monster too, I'm guessing?" He reached out to tweak a stray feather and smooth it back into place.

The pink haired demon poked at his food before deciding he wasn't so hungry after all. He gave a friendly wave of good bye to those at the table, leaving his plate behind, and wandered off to the library. Or as Charlie called it , lieberry.

Her eyes widened slightly at his species, brows twitching upward. She'd never met a grue before. She'd heard of them, intrigued by the concept, but never seen. Lucky day for her. "That is very intriguing. So you have a big appetite then?"
She followed the motion of his hand as it extended towards her, much like any animal would have, and only turned back to watch him after the feather had been smoothed back into place. She hadn't minded, that was evident by the lingering smile, but she didn't know him, not yet. "I'm a chimera."
