Kafara wasn't much of a talker, but her brother's question deserved an answer. "Kavu. I left to find him," she whispered. Kavu had always been her favorite brother. Life without him was... incomplete. She didn't say any of this, though. It wouldn't make her other siblings happy, and they had enough family issues to deal with.

The young lioness began to think about Kavu's words. Kwana was ruler material, she thought. Kavu was wrong. Kwana would be a strong leader. Unfortunately, she would probably also be a ruthless one, and Firekin numbers were already dwindling horribly. If the pride had been in a different situation, perhaps Kwana's personality would have been effective, but in this case...

Besides, Kafara had never been fond of her sister. She feared her a little, but she didn't like her. She was fonder of Kimeti.

Kwana was utterly baffled. She stood silently alongside as Kimeti explained, though she saw no reason to grace Kavuasi with a reply herself. How dare he return without warning after years gone and act as if he knew best for the pride. He knew nothing of the Firekin and their situation. How could he?

Again she was pulled back by the sound of her name, and her eyes narrowed in dislike, fixed upon her brother. She was completely disgusted by his behavior, his sexist comments, his sheer arrogance at addressing her as he did.

But what could she do? Any plans she had had fell away to nothing with the return of the lion. Kimeti and Kavuasi allied against her... And Kimeti's sentance of exile. Exile. The lioness took a small step back, glancing from one to the other...but for now, remaining silent.

Teleka's eyes were torn from Kijinga quickly as the fight had started but he then ran as close as he could to Mpeka when the other lions arrived. "Wha? Who they?" He whispered to his sister quietly while listening. Was Kwana really going to leave?

He laid his body close to the ground and watched Nuri leave, he then saw the slave he had brough here and for her safety at the moment he got up and carefully trotted over to her, hoping that it wouldn't cause a disturbance. He sat down next to the red femme. "Follow me to my sister, some of these lions don't know you so come and you will be safer." He then trotted back to his sister where he laid down once more. His eyes still watching the lion who looked so much like Kijinga. "Siblings..." He didn't say it too loudly but for his stupidity he caught on pretty quickly.

This was confusing, was the pride like this when his mother took him away before the plauge? H couldn't remember much but he was sure it wasn't like this. He had accepted Kimeti as King but he didn't want Kwana leaving, that would be just... wrong. They were after more members not less right?

Chomo felt rather alone as Nuri left and pretty vulnerable with all the muscle getting thrown around. Perhaps it was best to dissapear for a time, he didn't want to end up the brunt of the next clash. He could hear what he had to from the other pride members later, when the winds of change had stopped blowing just as ferociously.

He turned to Denahi and said "Come on, hanging around here is /not/ a good idea I'd wager, especially not with all too many Firekin out to commandeer slaves. If anyone asks, you are here under Nuri and my own jurisdiction, that way you shouldn't be harmed." he was well aware of the other's rebellious nature though, and treated him in the same unfussed way he did Ausha "But if you'd like to do otherwise, be my guest, there are some strong lions around here."

Then with one last look at the wild conflict below, he turned and headed after Nuri, his thoughts a turmoil reflecting that of the current pride heirarchy.

Turning from where she had paused in all of the clamor, Nuri just shook her head slowly and glanced to the oncoming Chomo. When he had made way to her side, she felt her eyes lower in slight disappointment.

"I have a feeling now is not the time to see if we can come back home..." It was a sigh-like comment, and she turned to look up to the next dune, "Maybe we should find where they rest, and wait there for them to be ready?" Having a hard time speaking up with that, she coughed and waited for Denahi to follow as well. Sure he was a slave in every 'worded' sense, but until they found something for him to do, he would just be expected to follow and not cause a scene.

Only when the two other...siblings came into the scene did the fighting appear to spot. He strained to here what they were saying, but he was just a bit further back than he'd want to be. His sky eyes gazed back to the peach pelted female, eyeing her for a minute. Why was she hiding...? From the larger looking firekin in the center? Probably a good reason.

His head tilteld towards Chomo. Firekin was out to...commandeer slaves? He wasn't a slave! He was just...going along for the ride! His eyes casted around; just agree with him Denahi! Faintly nodding, he lifted himself to follow the male and female who he had been 'stalking', following behind the pair quietly, no questions asked.

The lioness was in shambles, so many things had happened at once, the fighting, the appearance of Kavuasi and the other red hued lioness.

Still she was able to turn to Teleka and whisper softly.
"That's Kavuasi...but...I don't know who the other female is..."

Finally she could bear to be silent no longer, she stepped forward to the royal siblings, ear's flat against her skull submissively, although, some strong emotion glinting through her eye's.

She stopped infront of them.

"This fighting has to stop, we're wanting to save the pride, not kill or wound the members of it, no matter what they do."

There was a subtle deffiance in her voice, but those submissive ear's where still there, still flat against her dark red skull.

"We are stronger then this, to act barbaric against each other would be like lowering ourselves to that of rogues, one's who do not share the blood of our beloved Finar-si."

Kiburi shrunk back further, pressing herself against the sand so that she might be overlooked. She was afraid and she had never seen lions fight before. Her heart thrummed violently against her chest and her whole body trembled. Fear. She finally felt the emotion that had eluded her for so often.

She had felt scared before but nothing like this.

These lions could tear her apart in an instant, there was no way she could ever, ever stand up to them and this prospect condemned her to a life she had not wanted. This was the furthest point from freedom. She no longer owned herself, she was nothing more than property.

But Lord Kimeti? He had saved her from dying in the dunes...he had let her rest in his den, given her a ranking over other slaves. She had a lot to thank him for - including sparing her life. He was a mighty and fierce lion but she believed there was kindness in him also.

She gazed around when the fighting stopped, rising a little from the ground to peer around, spotting a red and gray lioness she had not noticed before. She was indeed of a red colour but there were traits that didn't fit in with her being a firekin.

A slave?

She moved slowly towards Kirjava in hopes of speaking to her, she needed a friend right now.

Teleka nodded at his sister but then she went and did something stupid!! He watched in a slight horror as she went and stepped into the middle of them all. His eyes darted around them all and then landed on Kijinga again, an aching inside of him came obvious but he turned to see Kiburi heading towards the slave he had got to move.

"Who are you?" He spoke softly to the lioness, she was obviously a slave but with all of this fighting he hadn't the heart to scare the slaves even more. He looked at the two slaves and then sighed, "This fighting needs to stop, sis is right." It then and only then dawned on him, "Hey! How did Mpeka know who he was?" He spoke to himself, tilting his head slightly he looked at his sister and then the large male. His sister liking other males? This was interesting.

Turning her head slightly at the movements of a lioness heading her way. Crimson eyes looked over the other and noticed that she stood out more than the others. She couldn't be of this pride, could she? Kirjava thought to herself silently. As she was lying on the ground far from the fighting as to not get in the way but close enough to hear and see what was going, her tail flicked.

In a soft voice, she addressed the lioness that made her way over to her, "Hello."

Golden orbs focused on his brother before the shock begant o wear off and Kimeti was able to really pull himself back together. The voices of the other pride members calling for a hault to the fighting resulted in the male looking at each one before nodding. "Fine, I will cease the fighting for now." He eyed his sister whom looked far from her bold collective self. "Kwana, I will give you a...second chance. Don't make me wish I had run out of this pride today."

Turning back to Kavu and Kafara he smiled happily. It was wonderful to see them again. Only two members of the family whom were still living were mising. Unfortunatly it didn't seem like either would ever return to the desert. Moto and Mother were gone.

Kavuasi chuckled, his amusement finally getting the best of him. It's a pity they were actually starting to act like adults. He quietly nodded towards his brother.

"If I were you, Highness," He spoke, "I wouldn'tve given her a second chance. But mayhaps it's for the best." Shrugging, he flicked a bit of sand off his tail, trying hard not to look upset. He hadn't ever liked Kwana. He didn't even love her as a sister. He would have rather seen her torn to pieces or exiled than given another chance. Oh well. He supposed it was time to start his spying. Standing, Kavu stretched, then settled himself down closer to Kafara.

"Tell me, Kimeti.... Where's mother?" He asked, ears perking ever-so-slightly. He had been hoping to spend some time with her, as well. "Surely you and Kwana would not be squabbling if she were here..."

"I am not to sure if I should be giving her a second chance." He eyed his oldest sister. "But we shall see if she can behave herself this time around."

Kimeti watched with mild amusement as Kavu settled on the sand. The sun had long dissapeared over the horizon leaving the sky scattered with white speck winking down upon all of them. The moon with it's waning face was moving to take its place in the heavens but few seemed to take real notice of the beauty that was the desert. Even those who lived among the sands took their sights for granted.

At the mention of mother Kimeti sighed and cas this eyes to the ground. "She dissapeared several nights ago. No one has been able to locate her. I am not sure if I should assume her dead or having just abandoned the pride. She hadn't been the same since father died."

Confusion gave was to indignation, which in turn led to fury. The confrontation was going from bad to worse. Her hopes were dashed as it was, what with Kavuasi's unexpected return, Mpeka had the nerve to speak up and call an end to the fight, and now her brothers were speaking about her as if she were still a cub--with her standing only feet away, no less!

Cold blue eyes left Kimeti to rest on the older of her two brothers, fixing him with a glare of pure, undeniable loathing. Throughout the males' conversation, the look held, never blinking, the lioness quivering slightly with the effort of restraining her anger. A battle now would prove fatal to herself, that was clear. But to stay here by her brother's grace after such a display... That was inexcusable.

"The Firekin are dead," she finally murmured, more to herself than any other. "They passed long ago, leaving behind the mediocre doings of bumbling kings and passing rogues. And one, one who knew what it was to be Firekin, whose efforts to save the pride were crushed by the naivety of others." Pausing, she sighed, icy eyes fading. "May the Goddess protect you all."

And, falling silent, she turned and walked off over the dunes, accepting her exile rather than her brother's rule. Leaving the Firekin desert for the first time in her life.

Teleka was bad at waiting for others to speak. He saw Kwana turn to go, what was going on? She had been allowed to stay. He wanted to run after her but there was a fear of another fight and he didn't want to be a cause of it.

His eyes turned to Kijinga and then to his sister and the other lions and then the two slaves by him. He wanted to go to Kijinga but would good would that do, wouldn't she want to be with her family, now there mother has gone? He sighed, not moving.
