Arcana was a bit saddened that it looked like her companion preferred the ground more than flying. She could tell from the small little movements in her body. Then again Wynter would never be able to fly on her own so she guessed it was understandable to prefer where you had the most control. Arcana loved flying but mostly because it allowed her to experience even more places that normally could be reached. “I wouldn’t count on it Meris is a very Anti-social little critter. He had a bad childhood for the most part so he tends to think that the world is out to get him in a sense. He gets along with his brother and a couple friends and me but other than that he tends to steer away from modifoxes.” Arcana replied. “Although it’s a bit of a shame because like I said he is a really excellent flier. Ah well that is a bit understandable I guess I mean you grew up on the ground and would have stayed on the ground if not for me so of course you would be more comfortable there” Arcana finally decided to just lightly set Wynter down before staying up in the air a bit more and landing by herself. Perhaps if she was a male or a daeva with more muscles then landing the both of them would have worked but nope she was a normal sized female phim. “There that wasn’t too bad of a landing.” She stated.

Wynter didn't answer right away, since she was still catching her breath and getting her heart rate under control. When she'd pictured landing she hadn't thought of Aracana dropping her. She'd been close to the ground so that no harm was done, but there had been no warning. That might have been better though, otherwise she'd have subconsciously stiffened up.
After a few moments she offered a chuckle. "No, that wasn't bad," she admitted. "It was actually quite an enjoyable experience." She stayed on the ground, waiting until she was sure of the feeling in her legs, then hitched herself back up.
"A shame indeed. Still, I shall continuue to hope I get to meet your friend someday," she said, picking up on the previous current of the conversation before landing

Well okay so Arcana probably should have warned Wynter a little bit about the sudden landing but she was getting close to the ground and it was only about a foot from said ground. However it seemed to have slightly shaken up her companion, she would definitely have to work on landings when carrying people again because if you landed wrong even from that short distance you could still hurt yourself.
“Ah I’m a little bit rusty on carrying non fliers. I used to carry my sisters all the time but they have wings as well so I didn’t really ever have to land with them” Arcana explained. “Well I’m glad you liked most of the journey then” she finally spoke before nodding. Seeing as Wynter was ready to go she landed herself.
“Ah yes it is” Arcana nodded, plus even if Meris did agree to the whole thing his personality had its own problems as well. He came off as a bit impatient and uncaring although he dealt with kits pretty well.

Wynter shook herself to settle her wind-swept fur, and walked over to stand by Arcana. "Perhaps we should talk as we walk," she suggested, "since we'll want to look for interesting rocks and things while we can still see." She looked up and gave Arcana a smile. "I would like to hear more about your friends and family, if you're willing to indulge my whim."

“Alright that sounds like a good idea” Arcana nodded before beginning to walk. “Hmm about Arcana’s family… Well mom some how got stuck in one of those crack breeding type things so we never really knew who our dad was. However I’m the oldest out of three siblings. We’re all triplets with the same basic pattern only the coloration is different. Um the middle one of us is Magica, she’s pretty friendly I guess but at the same time she gets her self lost a lot, even though she’ll say other wise and she’s a bit spacey.” Arcana admitted. She paused for a second to look at something that caught her interest. “Then there is Celestia shes really kind and tries to get along with everyone. She’s also a bit naive I guess and tries to find the good in everyone. We were all raised in my mom’s tribe who were a bunch of fortune tellers because Mom died after giving birth to us.”

"That sounds very nice," Wynter remarked. "Not that your mother died or you don't know who your father is, but it's nice that the tribe raised you so that you weren't alone." Not that Wynter was comparing situations. She thought she'd managed quite well on her own so far, and it wasn't like she was alone right now.
While she spoke she also tried to keep an eye on the ground for anything particularly shiney, odd-shaped, or out of place in the natural world.

“well actually our family had been part of the clan since it first started and my uncle is actually still alive, he did most of the taking care of. “ Arcana explained. “Of course there aren’t many winged creatures with time on their hands in the clan so learning to fly was a bit of a challenge. There also weren’t many kits either at the time so growing up it was mostly just us. Luckily we met Meris while he was still a kit and he became a very good friend.” Arcana continued. “it wasn’t easy but at the same time we did have it better than some foxes out there so I don’t regret growing up that way in the least”

Wynter looked up briefly with an interested expression while Arcana spoke, then went back to scanning the ground. She paused for a moment to scratch at a small rock half-buried in the earth, but gave it up as a simple bit of mountain rock in a very rockish shape.
"It does sound nice, having others. I don't particularly have any regrets about growing up alone, but I do entertain the thought of what it would have been like to grow up with friends and family," she said, giving Arcana another sidelong glance as she spoke.
There was an odd emotion stirring in her while she spoke. Wynter puzzled over it, trying to figure out what it was. Nothing she'd ever felt before, so maybe Arcana had something to do with it. Maybe somethings would have been a more apt way to describe it, which would explain why she was having trouble figuring it out.

Arcana paused wondering what more she could say on the subject and watched wynter uncover a rock that turned out to be just a normal one before deciding she should get to searching herself. Nothing seemed to be leaping out at her but it was okay to get really cool items there first had to be a lot of failed attempts. One just had to stick in there. “It was but at the same time it was also a bit isolating. I would see other kits playing with their parents and their families and even though the tribe took care of us we knew it was different for us. Uncle tried his hardest but….” Arcana shook her head to clear her thoughts of the depressing feeling coming up. Arcana suddenly stopped and lightly began pawing through the dirt. Something had caught her attention and when she finally unearthed it she paused. It was a human necklace, a silver chain with a pendant that looked like one of her arcana circles. She frowned wondering what such a thing was doing all the way out in the woods like this.

Wynter thought about what Arcana had said. In abstract she could see how that would be, feeling lonely even with others around simply because the others never interacted with you. It would feel the same as being alone, but probably worse knowing that the solution was right there and someone was withholding it from you.
"I could see that," she said. "There is a saying I picked up somewhere, though I can't remember the exact wording, the gist is that loneliness is not the result of having no one around but the result of not being understood." Wynter wondered if others hadn't approached Arcana and her siblings simply because they couldn't relate with the littles? It was possible, certainly, but there wasn't much of a way to know.
As Wynter pondered she noticed that Arcana had stopped and was unearthing something. She stopped as well to watch the Phim paw at the ground and a glint of silver. A moment later Arcana lifted her paw around which was looped a chain, pendant dangling from the end and swinging with the motion. Wynter frowned.
"I like this not," she said, moving forward to look at the necklace closer. "This land is far from humans, isolated and impassible except by foot or air. Even if the occasional one passes through they are dressed for the wilderness and bring only needed supplies. This-," Wynter paused, staring at the delicate working of the silver. "How would something like this get here?"

Looking at the necklace a bit more she pocketed it in her bag before turning and briefly noted that Wynter had moved closer to see what she was unearthing. Arcana instantly noticed the normal wasn’t entirely happy with the human jewelry. She titled her head to the side as she thought of why it could be up here when this area didn’t get many human travelers.
“Well I suppose if you think of it as an important necklace, some foxes and I assume humans wear the gift all the time. So perhaps the necklace came undone when they where hiking up here. Then it makes a bit more sense. They are all dressed and packed with the needed supplies yet they where still wearing the jewelry for it to fall off with. I would assume they looked for a while and then gave up considering there isn’t a human smell still lingering here” Arcana offered.
“Anyways like Arcana said, she had her uncle and her sisters and a small clan so it wasn’t as bad as it could have been. After all there are foxes that have it much worse” Arcana nodded and looked off slightly towards the side. Meris was an example she supposed. She had a loving tribe but after her friends parents died. He was cast off to live with his daeva grandfather where the other was strict and unmoving, nor forgiven. Meris also wasn’t lucky as even though his brother was raised in the same circumstances Meris had no friends. In fact for a while he was basically an emotionless effective Daeva.
“anyways its all in the past, the best thing is to look forward and try to make the future a bit better” Arcana nodded.

Wynter shook her head, glancing at the pouch. "Perhaps. Humans are not as adapt at living in the wilderness, nor do they have the advantages that we do. If such a thing was so important that they would bring it all this way out here with them, I'd think they wouldn't give up searching until it was found."
Perhaps Wynter wasn't the best one to speculate on such motives though. She was of the type that not much was important to her, and things she might lose were all impersonal and easily replaced. If she ever had something she treasured she didn't think she'd ever give up searching for it, though.
Suddenly she laughed, softly. "Perhaps it is you," she said, looking up at Arcana. "Two items associated with humans, when I have seen none such creatures about here in all my life? You must have that kind of luck."

“Hmmm well I know I would keep searching for it until it was found. However humans seem to be under these time constraints. They always need to return to their original home and so they give up searching for things like that. Then by the time they seem to be free again for a while I guess they figure there is no way that it could still be here.” Arcana mused.
That’s why Arcana tended to carry all her stuff in a pouch. Sure she’d wear the occasional jewelry but the important stuff was in her bag, which was big and easy to spot. Plus because it was always on her when it fell off or was taken off she instantly knew because she felt weird.
Arcana tilted her head to the side and thought about Wynter’s statement. “Hmm I guess it could be, but I don’t really run into any humans. I do find all sorts of weird stuff though. So maybe its just playing into that” she commented.

Wynter chuckled. "Does interesting stuff like this often happen to you, then? I imagine it keeps things lively enough." It was fair to say that Wynter was intrigued. Other foxes had run through her territory before and Wynter was aware enough of herself to know she wasn't imprinting on the Phim for lack of company. No, there was just a certain something around Arcana that drew Wynter, and it wasn't something she felt she could fully explain if asked.

“Hmm well I guess it happens enough that I don’t really find it all that interesting. I’m just really good at finding things. Everyone is always coming to me to find something they misplaced.” Arcana finally spoke up. She had been sincerely thinking about the answer. She supposed she ran into interesting human items a lot but then she was looking for them. “So I guess its not too lively either, although life is pretty lively if only because my clan deals with so many different types of foxes”
