There was a time when Fallon had developed her own infatuation with Lily. The girl was pretty, demure, and kind. Fallon had always viewed her as passive, and that was something she typically went for in a girl. But in all her time, she had never really had a girlfriend, at least not seriously. Even Eilian was not her girlfriend, despite how close they were and the intimacy that they had shared. These sort of attachments would eventually become distractions. Fallon might be okay with that, but Ares wasn't.

Her hand traced down the silk panel of a light blue dress. It wasn't her style, but at least it felt nice. "Tali?" Fallon asked, raising an eyebrow. She didn't quite follow what Lily had said, but there had been kissing mentioned. Was Lily interested in girls? Fallon had not known previously. "The only way to be sure is to try," she added. That was the extent that Fallon was willing to discuss a relationship though. She had too much on her mind to worry about people's relationships.

Magenta eyes flew to the clock behind Lily. "Oh, I have to run," she said quickly. "We'll see each other later." Blood Moon Court business, in all likelihood. With a wave, Fallon disappeared into the dressing room to change. She came out a few minutes later in capris and a blouse. "Nice meeting you, Guen," she said, swooping by the place where the girl stood.

And then Fallon was off to run yet another errand.

Lily laughed at the questioning face Fallon gave and nodded, "Yes Tali, a friend who flirts with me constantly and decided my birthday present should be a kiss in the hallway at school." Lily rolled her eyes it was obvious how she felt about that, but she still hung of with Tali which made her wonder, the kiss had not been to bad so, she shrugged.

"Try huh," she echoed, but then shook her head, "she's not one of us," she said referring to the BMC and maybe senshi in general. Well she wasn't certain, but she doubted it. It was her way of saying being a senshi for her meant she probably would avoid relationships for now, but that didn't mean she couldn't wonder.

Then it seemed Fallon was rushing off again, but Lily was use to this, when she said they would see each other later Lily gave a curt nod to the captain and waved goodbye before heading over to say hi to Ashley. She wondered if Ashley and Jaimie would want to do lunch after shopping and there was only one way to find out.

Lily headed over to the little group, waving again to Fallon as she left.

"Hey Ashley," she said with a smile when she reached the girl, "you look great, that dress suits you. Do you think that the one for prom then?"

There was something to say about how persuasive a single look from Sova's father could be.

One moment she'd been adamently telling her father there was no point in even considering dresses for prom, because no one would ask her; the next, she was being shooed out the door as her father cooed about how fun dress shopping would be, even if she only went to look. She wasn't surprised that he wanted her to go - he was always looking for excuses to make her socialize a little - but she was surprised at how easily she'd been conned into it.

Now her heart sank as she approached the store all too quickly. It loomed ahead like a castle of doom, emanating girly fumes that made Sova want to crawl in a hole and hide. A little bell chimed as she entered the store, and she was left standing awkwardly at the front of the store in dirty hiking boots, old jeans, and a well worn shirt. There was scarcely a word for how out of place she felt.

It was only worsened by the sheer amount of people here. Were all these people really prom shopping?

Behind Sova the bell rang again behind her stood Lorelei in a knee long black skirt and a simple black top to match. She had heard about the prom, she knew a few friends would be going probably but it dawned on her that she didn't have a proper outfit so she wandered out to the mall along with every other girl in the city.

She wasn't cut out for this, she had spent way to much time with Demy.

"You know, if we both keep standing here like deer in headlights they'll run out of the good outfits." It was a light joke to Sova, the other girl seemed just as awkwardly out of place as she felt.

Sova was startled by the bell, and moved over slightly so she wasn't standing directly in the girl's way. She didn't really have anywhere else to go, as racks of dresses, long and short, elegant and sleazy, starts from the windows and ran to the back of the store. This had been a horrendous idea, and he father would definitely be hearing about it.

She held up her hands quickly, shaking her head. "I wouldn't know a good outfit if it punched me in the gut." She shuffled her boots and looked down, as if punctuating the statement. She wore what was comfortable and realistic. She did a lot of hiking, which made boots the best option.

Taking a proper spot beside Sova Lorelei took a moment to glance at all the racks, colors and cuts leaping out at her. It had been a while since she had gone shopping like this, but the prom seemed the right time to finally do this. A lack of Demy being around helped this greatly right now.

"It's not hard, obviously you dress for... something a bit more rough." She glanced down at the boots. "Maybe on a mountain those do you good, and honestly, you could probably use one of those to give someone a sharp kick if they try to steal the dress you want." Suddenly Lorelei was offering a hand to Sova, "My names Lorelei, I haven't have many girlfriends to go shopping with, but if you want I can help you find something maybe?"

Meanwhile over in the tux rentals Sorrin was turning left and right to admire the blue vest over top his crisp white button up. Diamond patterened? Check. Matching the blue dye tips? Check. (Screw anyone who said it looked cheesy; they were tools). Pare of shades? Check. Reaching over he slipped on the jacket that would complete the outfit grinning in the mirror. "I'm just gona take a walk around the store, see if the shoes fit good alright miss?" The clerk gave a nod and Sorrin was off. Cruising the racks nodding to the fellow men of the store and taking a moment to admire some of the ladies wandering around.

His face looked something like this:

"Hello ladies." He said with a nod as he passed Sova and Lorelei while moving through the store.

Sova's lips curled up just slightly. They were pretty big boots. She'd never really considered the damage they could do. This girl seemed to be good at seeing the optimistic. She took her hand gently and looked up slightly. "Sova." She offered. Her father would be so proud to know she was making an acquaintance.

As Sorrin walked by her face quickly dropped again, and she felt her irritation level rise. With a blank look, she turned back to Lorelei. "You can help me, but if he's going to be at the prom I'm staying as far away as possible."

Jaimie raised an eyebrow at the curt commands to avoid certain fabrics, but backed away to go make a couple selections off the racks anyway. Velvet vests... God, what did she take him for? It was the Prom not a ren-faire, and he wasn't especially fond of velvet anyway. The stuff tended to crush easily, feel awful if you brushed it against the lay of the fabric, and was just overall very high maintenance.

True he'd dressed casually, but he thought he presented some degree of personal taste. Tate didn't seem to think so, but then, she was making it pretty clear she was a lady with very strong opinions.

It didn't take him incredibly long to pick out a couple of vests, black as requested, with subtle patterns stitched or woven into the fabric. He avoided the black vest with white pattern, it looked a little too... off... for his personal taste, but he did pause to linger at an rather odd looking very retro piece in slightly off white. Interesting... kinda ren-faire Prince-wanna be... but kind of interesting. He made a note of it and headed to try on the black vests for Tate's inspection.

The slight smile was enough for Lorelei, if she did nothing else today let it be known that the usually fussy girl had made someone else smile. Hand in hand Lorelei nodded to Sova, "Well it's nice to meet you." She said with a smile glancing as Sorrin passed with a raised eyebrow.

"Eh, I've seen worse, I know boys his age who act half of it and would drive you up a wall. Though I have to agree he does seem a bit off." Grinning she gestured to Sova's boots again, "Wear those to prom, give him a swift kick to the shin if he gets smart?"

Even as he walked past and Sova spoke he only grinned even more. "Yes I'm going to prom miss, still need a date if you care to take a chance?" He offered with a wave behind him as he turned down another row of clothes poking at a series of ties and bows debating if his outfit needed a bit more.

Lorelei could only blink confused at his rather off the cuff and random offer glancing at Sova with a nod. "Keep the boots on, we might need them yes."

Perhaps it was too soon into their relationship for Sova to show her true colors, but the moment Sorrin opened her mouth, her face hardened and she stared at Lorelei hard, as if just by will of looking at someone she found pleasant, she could force back all the irritation just the arrogance of his mouth caused. "Tell me he's joking. Or that I have an ear infection. Tell me I'm hallucinating," she demanded.

Then she looked over her shoulder at the boy, who seemed to really be paying her no mind. Maybe she was hallucinating. After all, she'd never been asked out on any sort of 'date' before, so her mind could just be making up things out of desperation. If it was, she needed to have some words with it on her choice of male personalities. Her face fell and she looked back at Lorelei, searching. "Tell me what to do." This was more of a question unlike the previous demands.

Lorelei couldn't help but snicker just a bit, the look on Sova's face matched her own when she was usually staring down Demy for doing something bizarre. "I think he might be joking, but sadly your not hallucinating. I think he really did just casually ask us or rather you, to prom." It was hard to say, he did just sort of announce he had no one to go with.

For a moment she glanced towards the boy who was still busy looking at something while they talked. "What advice from me? In my books I'd kick him in the knee if he kept mouthing at me." She paused though tapping her chin. "However, you have to give him some credit, he's not shy about it at least? Could try talking to him maybe?"

Out of earshot Sorrin couldn't hear a word between the two girls. So he simply went about shifting from tie to tie, stripes? Flat? Diamond patterned? Maybe a flat black? Eventually he put them back peaking over the racks of the shelves eying the two girls from over the rim of his shades playful eyes watching them.

Kick him in the knee. Not a bad idea. She shuffled the toe of her boot against the carpet of the store experimentally, and narrowed her eyes as Lorelei continued. "Talking to him? 'Hey, where'd you buy your hair dye?'" She hissed and turned at looked at him again only to see him eying them. Was he actually interested? She twisted the hem of her shirt in her hands, no sure if she was furious or not. She'd never been in a situation like this.

Finally, she leveled a glare at Lorelei. "I'm going to need coffee after this." Then she smoothed out her t-shirt, turned on her heel, lowered her eyes, and walked to the rack of dresses directly behind the boy, fingering them uncertainly. She'd planned on saying hi or something.; maybe kicking him in the knee like suggested, but now that she'd walked all of ten feet over here, her gut clenched and all she could do was pretend she was looking for something pretty to wear to prom. She ran her hand down a black and white dress, trying to get up the nerve to actually say something.

"Hey I'm not saying I would or wouldn't really. You could always give it a try. What's the worst that could happen he gets sleezy you kick him and we go get you that coffee? I'll be behind you if he does anything too stupid." With that she followed behind Sova taking a spot among another rack of dresses watching the other girl approach Sorrin.

As soon as the two started to walk over Sorrin dipped back down to the shelf continuing to 'shop'. Lets face it though Sorrin wasn't shopping for clothes he was shopping for a date and maybe just maybe it was working? For a while he let her look at a few outfits before finally turning around when she was looking down at the black and white one.

"You know I find black and white is always a good stand by, but you only get to go to so many proms it's more fun to try something exciting." Holding out a hand to her he grinned, at some point the sun glasses had come off revealing bright blue eyes proper. "Sorrin Giovanni, and my offer stands I kind of don't have a date still." The last part was with a sheepish grin. "Care to help fix that?"
PostPosted: Sat May 07, 2011 6:49 pm

She bit the inside of her cheek as he once again made the first move. He oozed the confidence she could never have. She actually kind of liked the dress she had her hand on, but removed her hand uncertainly in order to place in hesitantly in his. She felt Lorelei's presence help a little, but she still wasn't entirely excited about this situation. "Sova Matthews." She gave him a skeptical look, tilting her head slightly. "Why should your datelessness be mine to fix?"

He only gave her hand a gentle squeeze with the shake, polite all the while with it. He had debated kissing it, but that seemed a bit too old timey and he didn't have the top hat or monocle to complete the action.

"Well Sova you seem like a down to earth girl, and you look rather nice, I haven't been around Destiny City for a while so most of my friends have either moved away or already have dates. So I decided I would... expand my horizons?" He grinned again, "Thus leading me here, to you, and still dateless needing some way to fix that. Besides worse that can happen is someone says no right?"

Lorelei lingered in the dress rack red eyes watching the two ready to strike if Sova needed it. This was an interesting situation, though honestly Sorrin came off a bit too cocky for her taste still she gave him credit for his forwardness. She wanted to tell Sova to stand up for herself a bit more, but her eyes caught a lovely red dress... no watch Sova and Sorrin dammit!
