Avatre shrugged at Kairon's grumbles. "It must be getting close to night since the light's been fading. If you want to know for sure though just pay attention to the wildlife. They know the time in this forest better than we, surely, as strangers." Indeed, with all this this undergrowth hiding a plethera of small game, and all the trees, Avatre would have been willing to bet there were tons of owls about. No telling if bats hunted here. Nearer the water sources frogs probably made a heck of a racket, and if they both stopped and stood silent she was willing to bet they'd hear the scufflings of mice in the undergrowth. A modifox had keen hearing.
And those were just the animals she knew off the top of her head. If it really did take more than a couple days to escape the confines of these branches, she'd bet she could pinpoint other nocturnal species specific to the area.
"Your own body would tell you as well, if you're strictly dinural," Avatre said, eyes returned to Kairon's face. "Or nocturnal, if you being awake right now is a special case. I can adapt to either pattern, so in cases like these I tend to eat when I'm hungry and sleep when I'm tired rather than keep an eye to the sky."
Avatre wasn't sure if time really was all that important to Kairon, or if he was just complaining to complain. In a situation like this, where one could easily become frustrated within the confusing confine of trees, complaining about trivialities was one of the few ways to vent some of that.

Looking around the area he noticed that it was getting quieter. All the animals seemed to have left the area. Then again they were two daevas wandering around the forest. He wasn't sure if it was the night or if it was because of them. Not many animals would be wise to stay around a daeva let alone two. Sighing he looked off into the forest. He could travel day or night... just cause he was tired didn't mean it was night.
"Hm... Just cause wild life isn't around doesn't mean its dark." He looked at her. "Were two dangerous daevas. It would be wise not to be around us. As for what I feel... I can travel in the day or at night... just cause Im tired doesn't mean its night ether..." He growled. "I hate this forest..."

Avatre snorted, a very unlady-like sound. "Well it's going to be quieter, with the majority of the birds going to sleep now. Owls don't make noise, and nocturnal predators have to be quiet otherwise they'll tip off their pray. I doubt we'd cause much of a stir by our presence alone; an animal still has to have food, they're just more cautious when bigger predators are around." She shrugged. "And if the little stuff is scared off, well why would other animals waste their time around here when there's no food to be had for it?"
She shook her head, the tilted it. "So if it's no consequence what time of day it is to you when you travel, why should it matter overmuch where the sun is beyond the trees?" No matter how much reason Avatre tried to infuse into her tone, she probably did come off as lecturing a little. Ah well, it couldn't be helped. It would be odd to put the words "whining" and "Daeva" in the same sentence, but that's really what it sounded like Kairon was doing.
Not that she probably wasn't guilty of the same thing. Claustrophobia never helped with nerves or temper, and the grumbling was probably Kairon's attempt to diffuse the feeling.
"If you're tired then it might be better to rest," she said, shrugging. "If not, maybe we can cover some ground and get out of here, feel a real breath of air against our faces." Indeed, this place was so stiffling.

"It doesn't mater where the sun is... I just like to know what time of day it is." He answered her question as his eyes shifted over to her. "Why do you lecture me so much about what I say?" It was a simple question and he did feel like he was being lectured. Not that he cared he was. He was just wondering why she felt the need to lecture or correct him. Perhaps she was use to being around others that needed to be corrected? That or maybe she just liked to do that. No matter, He could easily disregard the lectures... if it didn't happen all the time.
"I say we keep moving. I may be tired but I rather feel frech air on my face then hot musky air from this place." With that he moved on past a rather tight area that cause him to flatten his wings against his body as best he could.

Avatre just shrugged and asked, "I need a reason?" She supposed most Daevas weren't used to being lectured, but little details like that had never stopped her before. Probably came from being put in an eldest sister position, even if the kits weren't really her sibs. They'd been raised together, so it was the next best thing.
"I do agree, fresh air would be a welcome change." Then, a little wistfully, "I miss the wind." Tucking her own wings close to her body, Avatre followed after Kairon through the thick foliage.
((Okay, here's my idea. If you don't think they'll work out as mates, we can stop the RP right here. You know, the whole, "they vanish into the trees and eventually break free" thing lingering unsaid, since this is a fairly good stopping point and they've both wandered off. If we want to try again we can do a new RP, and if it works we can resalvage this RP and get it to page 6. So if you're cool with calling this RP done, just put FIN in the title. If you want us to try to make it to page 6, maybe we can do a time skip to them finally breaking out of the forest and their reactions.))
