Matthew smiled and nodded, glad the boy was all fixed up. "Happy to help," He said with a small bow. When the Slytherin mentioned he was a teacher's pet, Matthew frowned. 'It bothers me that if students are respectful nowadays they get called names for it.' He thought with a small sigh. When he 'apologized' for touching his sister, Matthew narrowed his eyes at the boy. "I suggest you avoid provoking Ezra in the future if he has already done this to you twice. He's dangerous," He explained.

Matthew was slightly shocked that he said Ezra had already hit him, actually.
"How stupid is he, to have received such a blow before and to still anger the Gryffindor? It seems foolish to me.' He thought to himself. Listening to Quillan's words, Matthew smiled. "Partly. The Gryffindor female, Eswen, wanted to pursue you but I told her to stay back to sort things out with Ezra," Matthew informed him, "He seemed worked up.. I can assume that is your doing?"

Only when Quillan stalked past her did Eswen catch the sickening scent of blood. Her stomach became queasy and only after he disappeared was she able to breath normally again--but she still smelled iron heavily. After calming her stomach, Eswen turned to find herself completely alone with Ezra. The Ravenclaw boy had went after Quillan and his sister and Saga had went off in another direction. Immediately, stale air came over them. Hesitantly, Eswen took a peek in Ezra's direction--he was coming towards her! Though she swallowed hard, she managed to maintain his gaze.

Eswen was taken back by the sincerity in his voice when Ezra apologized. Immediately, the same guilt that had been plaguing her stomach returned. I overreacted... She realized, feeling absolutely horrible for ignoring him now. Good intentions... I was most definitely in the wrong--but... By now, Eswen figured out that any sour feelings she had towards Ezra had dissipated, she was just going through the actions of disliking him now--was what he did really such a big deal? Looking back on it, Eswen couldn't help but find the situation mildly ridiculous. It wasn't such a bad thing, was it?

As she debated with herself, Ezra turned to leave. "AH--I-I don't hate you!" Eswen blurted out, jumping forward to grab his hand--

"Th-there's bl-blood..." The sharp smell of iron entered her nose and Eswen immediately felt sick again. Her hand dropped his and she stared down at the blood which had rubbed onto her hand. "W-we should clean this off..." Why can't I look away? It felt as if her eyes were glued to the red on her hands. Finally, after much willpower, Eswen grabbed onto Ezra's hand and led him into one of the girl's bathrooms (completely disregarding the fact that it was, indeed, the girl's bathroom).

Luckily for them, it wasn't occupied. Eswen wouldn't have noticed anyway. Her legs felt like they were becoming increasingly heavier as she trecked over the sink and forcefully dunked Ezra and her hands under. Firmly, she took her hands and wiped the blood from Ezra's, intertwining her fingers with his for short seconds. Only after the blood had rinsed from their hands was she able to breath easily. "I'm sorry, Ez... I overreacted..."

"Now, why would you assume that?" Quillan inquired with false innocence, an ear-to-ear grin on his face. Him? Provoke Ezra? Of couuursse not! "Y'know, that accusation is completely unwarranted, if I do say so myself. I'm perfectly peaceable!" Quillan had a bit of a tough time keeping his face from contorting into a devious expression--what bull he was saying! Of course he had been the one to get Ezra's panties in a knot! Why else would he be rampaging at him and breaking Quillan's nose? Either way, Quillan decided to feign innocence for a bit longer. "I wasn't the one to hit him over the head for being stupid, that was some other kid--definitely not me, definitely not!"

Dropping the charade, Quillan leaned against the wall and looked intently into Matt's eyes. "The way I figure it, he made up with his girl, right?" Though it would be a lie to say that Quillan had planned the entire thing, the possibility of Ezra making up with Eswen was lingering in his mind earlier--but mostly, Quillan wanted Ezra to man up instead of whining to him about some dumb girl problem. Merlin's Beard! Quillan had thought someone had died when he saw that boy crying! "And aye, he is dangerous. A wild bull, that one." Quillan mused, unconsciously moving his hand up to his nose in memory.

"So Eswen's the girl he's hung on about?" Quillan inquired with mild interest. "Isn't she a weird one--I hear worse rumors about her than I do myself--and that's saying something!"

Eleanor smiled enthusiastically when Saga agreed with the compliments on her brother. "On a mission? That explains it, when Matthew focuses on something there's no moving him," She said with a laugh. As soon as Saga changed the subject, Eleanor's mind went along with it. She was easily distracted and was always happy to let her mind wander. Matthew said this made her easy to manipulate but Eleanor always argued that no one would want to do such a thing to her!

When Saga said she didn't play Quidditch Eleanor frowned. Where could she have seen her before then? Saga suggested it was from classes and Eleanor nodded in agreement.
"Probably!" She agreed with a grin. 'I know a lot of people, I've probably just seen Saga while socializing.' She thought cheerfully. Eleanor wasn't one to be paranoid so she didn't think about it further.

Eleanor tilted her head at Saga's question.
"What? Oh! You mean with our socks!" She exclaimed. Eleanor bit her lip and looked down the hall where Quillan had disappeared. "Honestly, you might want to ask that Slytherin boy about that, he's the expert," She explained. "Hey, why don't we go find him? I need to talk to Mattie anyway and I'm pretty certain their still together," She suggested with a giggle.

Saga gave a laugh at what Eleanor said. That Slytherin boy seemed to be an expert at the strangest, non-productive things! "Yeah, I think we should. We should probably go the other way, considering that we might get in Ezra and that girl's way." Saga declared, giving Eleanor a wink before hooking her arm in hers and beginning to trot down the hallway. They passed a few groups of students as they walked, one of them being the group of Slytherins Matt had confronted earlier. Keeping her head high, Saga gazed at them unwaveringly. What was up with some peoples' kids these days?! Those Slytherins were nasty sometimes--pure brutes!

Luckily, though, they passed the group without any trouble. A few minutes later, they were looking down the hallway. "Jackpot! There they are!" Saga exclaimed, pointing with her free hand to where Matt and Quillan were standing. Once she caught up to them, Saga gave Quillan a disapprovingly look. "Nice fix, Matt. He looks as good as new." She grinned at him, paying no mind to the actual boy who had been hurt. Personally, Saga thought he deserved it.

"This way we won't get in trouble either." Saga noted, letting her arms fall to her side. She wasn't that keen on getting expelled for beating up a kid--what would Grandma Huldah think about that!? Saga was almost positive that she'd get whipped. At the thought, a shiver ran down her spine.

Ezra could read Eswen's reactions like a book. But she wasn't angry, which severely surprised him. Ezra had upset Eswen a lot previously, he could tell, and didn't want to make her sad anymore. Was it selfish that he wanted her to be happy so that he didn't feel guilty? 'No.. it can't just be that.' He thought, refusing to believe he was as cold-blooded as that. Furious with himself now, Ezra just wanted to go back to his dormitory to vent his rage by punching a wall - although he'd already made a hole in the common room by doing that.

Feeling something touch his hand he spun around instinctively.
"Eswen?" He asked in shock, completely confused by her words. She didn't hate him? Why not? He was about to ask her what had changed her mind when she began to look weak. When she mentioned blood he looked down at his hand with a sigh. "Crap.. What's wrong? You look sick," He said in concern. Maybe she couldn't handle blood? Ezra remembered that Eleanor was similar in that way.

Ezra let out a small groan of distaste when she dragged him into the girl's bathroom.
"Eswen, I really shouldn't be here.." He protested, not bothered by the blood in the slightest. Still, if she hated it that much, he would go along with whatever she was doing. He smiled weakly as the girl washed his hands, as if he couldn't do it himself. Her hands were smooth and delicate, nothing like his rough fists. Ezra looked up at her in surprise when she used his nickname. She had really forgiven him! "No, Essie, you didn't. I shouldn't have been so manipulative in the first place," He said sincerely, smiling happily at her, relieved that the whole event was over.

"You really shouldn't have been." Eswen agreed with Ezra, releasing his hands before finding something to dry hers on. However, instead of being stern, she just sighed. "But you were just trying to do what was best--I... I suppose it's alright then." Eswen handed Ezra a clean towel. As she did, she caught sight of his hands. What? Eswen grabbed his hands again and forcefully put them under the sink again. Only when water was soaking them did Eswen release his hands again. I-I could've sworn... But there was nothing red on his hands anymore. Thoroughly confused, she picked up the towel, which had been tossed aside, and handed it to Ezra.

"I'm... I'm sorry, I thought... It looked like you had blood on your hands still," Eswen explained, her eyes lingering on Ezra's hand. Her eyes then went to her own. Why had she been so bothered by the sight of blood? Unconsciously, she began to fiddle with the pendant hanging from her neck. When she saw that blood, her stomach felt empty--as if she hadn't had anything for weeks. It had tightened oddly. After a few seconds, she stopped and wrapped her arms around tightly around her waist, trying to forget that weird feeling.

Before Eswen could turn towards Ezra, she heard a scream. Her eyes darted towards the entrance. There stood another first year, a Hufflepuff. "THERE'S A BOY IN THE GIRLS' BATHROOM!" She shrieked. Oh--it is the girls' bathroom, isn't it? Eswen processed, glancing around with apprehension.

"Ezra, w-we should leave..." Eswen began, seeing that the girl had rushed out of the bathroom, most likely heading to find a professor.

Matthew listened to the boy with a sigh. He was so immature.. It was no wonder why he was getting himself in fights all the time. "Right, and I'm a polk-a-dotted llama," He said, raising his eyebrows when Quillan said he was 'peaceable'. "Purposely provoking an experienced fighter is not an act of peace, my friend," He said with a shake of his head. 'I must not share his sense of humour.' He thought.

Holding Quillan's gaze, Matthew smiled slightly. He was trying to look like the good guy now.
"We'll see. We can't be certain they aren't fighting as we speak.. They both seemed pretty tense," Matthew commented. He had no idea what had happened between them but it seemed to have severely troubled them both. "Ezra is usually cool-headed, he's probably just not in a good mind-set," He explained, not being able to recall a time when Ezra had been this dramatic in the past.

Matthew thought about what Quillan said for a moment.
"I don't think you should be so judgmental. Some of the strangest-looking people turn out to have the best perspectives and opinions," He said with a smile. Matthew was about to use a specific example when he heard his name. He looked up to see Saga and Eleanor approaching them. With a grin he turned to greet them. "Thank-you Saga, it was nothing a little spell couldn't fix," He said, shaking his head at her comment, "I believe that only Quillan and Ezra would have gotten in trouble." Matthew's gaze turned to Eleanor, he was glad that she and Saga were getting along.

Happy that Saga agreed with her, Eleanor was glad to walk with the Gryffindor. She waved towards the Slytherins that passed her but only got strange looks. 'I wonder what their problem was?' She thought with a frown, though it disappeared instantly as she caught sight of her brother. She turned to look at Quillan and stared at his face in disbelief. Eleanor knew her brother was good but.. wow. It looked like nothing had happened at all!' "That's amazing!" She exclaimed.

Eleanor grinned at Quillan, grabbing his arm enthusiastically.
"Want to play again?" She asked happily, almost completely forgetting the dramatic events that had occurred earlier, "Saga wants to slide with us!" She looked up at him with puppy dog eyes, hoping he wouldn't refuse her request. 'Mattie might not let me..' She released the Slytherin to hug her brother. "Mattie doesn't mind, right?"

Ezra looked at Eswen innocently. "I never wanted to upset you, I swear," He added to her comment. Glad that she had finally finished washing his hands, he was about to grab a towel when she shoved them in the sink again. "Don't freak out Essie... The blood is all gone. See?" He held up his clean hands to show there was nothing left on them. Looking at her in concern, she looked like she was about to faint. "Eswen.. are you ok?" He asked, wrapping an arm around her shoulders to comfort her.

Ezra was about to suggest they visited a nurse when he heard a shriek. Releasing Eswen he turned to stare at the Hufflepuff in the doorway.
"Hey, calm down, let me ex-" But she had already ran off. Turning to Eswen, he nodded in agreement, grabbing her hand and leading her out. "That wasn't the smartest move, come on," He insisted. 'I don't want a professor to come along and demand why I was in there.. I think the punishment for breaking someone's nose is more severe than being in the girl's bathroom.' He thought with a frown.

Quillan grinned at the boy. "Always the one to take things literally?" He inquired, amused by what he was saying. In fact, Quillan decided that he liked this boy--just based on the fact he preached to him. Surprisingly, he didn't find it the least bit annoying. It was as if getting scolded by a-a-... golden retriever! "Though, I do believe you would make a rather dashing polka-dotted llama. I definitely could see that--perhaps some transfiguration would do you some good?" Quillan would definitely keep a polka-dotted llama as a pet if he was given the chance--though, Matt still reminded him of a golden retriever more than a mindless llama.

Just as he was about to respond to the next thing Matt said, he noticed the two girls walking down the hallway. Eleanor seemed happy to see them while Saga wouldn't make eye contact. Hm... perhaps she's fickle that I didn't give her a kiss too! Jeez-o-jeez, one of these days, these girls are going to kill me! I'm too dashing for my own good! Quillan gave Saga a wide grin, hoping that it was ease the tension between them.

"Hey--!" Quillan interjected when Matt commented that only he and Ezra would be the ones getting in trouble. "Innocent bystanders are accessories--"

Before Quillan could complain some more, Eleanor grappled onto his arm. "Sure, I guess. Might as well ice the cake." He commented dryly, "But I want to bring Mattie along with me first." A wicked grin formed on Quillan's face as he gazed, quite satisfied with himself, at the Ravenclaw.

When Ezra grabbed her hand, Eswen gazed at his suspiciously. There didn't seem to be any blood on them anymore... That fact relieved her. To be honest, the situation hadn't exactly sunk in for her. She realized that they needed to get out of the bathroom, but she didn't feel any immediate danger from it. However, she kept up with Ezra as they bolted down the hallway. As she did, she could hear that squeaky Hufflepuff's voice behind them, yelling about seeing a boy in the bathroom. "It's not like you're some sort of monster--you're just a boy..." Eswen whispered, more to herself than to Ezra, glaring back in the girl's direction. As she did, they passed a group of wandering Slytherins. Luckily, however, they didn't seem to mind them much--besides the passing glare, of course.

However, then Eswen saw something. One of the Slytherins had started talking to the professor the Hufflepuff girl had brought and he pointed in their direction. Fortunately for them, at that instant, Ezra pulled around into another hallway. "E-Ezra!" Eswen struggled to regain her breath. Only in that instant had she realized her own fatigue. "H-hey Ezra!" Eswen protested, tugging on the other Gryffindor's arm. Finally, she stopped running and forced the boy to a halt, nearly being dragged by his enormous strength when she did. "There's a closet around here," she explained, pointing to the door they had just passed.

Whether he wanted to or not, Eswen pulled him over to the door then used her free hand to fling it open, pushing both of them into the darkness. When the door was closed, Eswen realized how uncomfortably cramped they were in here. She could barely even move! Wiggling a bit, Eswen tried to go for her wand. Can't... reach... Finally, she leaned into Ezra enough to allow her hand to go into her school bag. "Lumos," She whispered, a ball of light forming at the tip of her wand.

Now that she had stopped running, Eswen realized that her stomach no longer felt odd. Relieved, she smiled up at Ezra. "Y-you don't suppose... they'll check in here, r-right?" She whispered to him. As she did, her eyes wandered down to his lips. Kiss... Eleanor went out with Ezra before, did that mean they kissed each other? Th-that's for adults and family! Eswen tried to shoo the thought from her head. Eleanor had reassured her that they hadn't done anything--and it wasn't like it bothered Eswen! She was curious--that's all. Eswen had seen her father kiss a colleague on the cheek in greeting once--and she had seen people doing it in the Daily Prophet, had Ezra and Eleanor done it? The thought made her embarrassed, and Eswen quickly looked away from his face.

Think. Of. Something. To. Say. Eswen ordered herself, trying to distract from what she had been thinking. "Um..." She started, but nothing came to mind immediately. Finally, after a few seconds of thought, she, still not looking at him, said, "Wh-why were you angry... um... at the Slytherin?"

"QUICK! Stop." Saga declared, sighting a teacher heading down the hallway. She didn't want to get in trouble for something as stupid as sliding down the hallway on their socks. After the teacher had passed, Saga heard a scream. "There's a what where?" She inquired to the group, unable to make out the most of what the Hufflepuff girl was shrieking. Walking forward, she went to the girl and placed her hands on her shoulder. "What did you say?" Saga questioned, the girl looked thoroughly frightened.

"T-there was a boy in the girls' bathroom!" She shrieked again.

Saga looked at the girl dryly. Was that all? "Oh... that's against the rules." She lamely replied. From the way that the girl was reaction, Saga expected that something had died!

"Professor! Professor!" The Hufflepuff girl ran off to the professor, explaining her plight. In the meanwhile, Saga trekked back to the group. "Apparently she saw a guy in the girls' bathroom," She reported, shoving her hands in her pockets. Past Eleanor's face, Saga saw movement. Shifting her weight slightly to see past the girl's face, Saga noticed Ezra and Eswen running past the hallway. "You don't think..." Saga began, her eyes still on the running pair. "Nah--that couldn't be them, right? Why would Ezra be in the girls' bathroom?"

Matthew smiled at Quillan and shook his head. What an interesting boy this Slytherin was. "Are you sure you could perform transfiguration at such a high level?" He asked with a chuckle. 'I wonder if he is mocking me or just having fun?' Matthew thought, not letting either possibility get to him. He was about to start a discussion with Quillan on what he would want to be turned into when he heard an oh-so-familiar voice.

Matthew turned and smiled at Eleanor, his arms wide open to embrace her, but she instead moved over to Quillan. He frowned slightly seeing her cling to him but tried to make his distaste subtle. He was taken aback when the girl embraced him suddenly. With a sigh, Matthew looked down at her and tilted his head.
"Eleanor..." He muttered. "I do not think it is all too safe," He could hardly say no to those eyes, though! Turning to Quillan when he used his nickname, Matthew sighed. "I suppose.."

The interruption of the girl's screams meant Matthew didn't have to finish his sentence. Slightly distressed, he was about to ask the girl what was wrong when Saga beat him to it. "A boy in the girl's bathroom? That is.. unusual," He said, slightly confused, wondering what year level the boy and girl had been in. Looking up at Saga, he listened to her theory with a raised eyebrow, looking down the hall in the direction the Hufflepuff girl had come from. "They had been in that direction... And Ezra did get a fair bit of Quillan's blood on him. But I doubt that someone as proud as Ezra would enter the girl's restroom," He concluded.

Eleanor grinned at Quillan when he agreed, but Matthew seemed less convinced. "It won't be dangerous if you're there," She pleaded. 'My leg is already better! How bad can it be?' She thought to herself. Hearing Saga say something about a teacher, Eleanor peeked out around Matthew to spot the girl hysterically running down the corridors. Refusing to let go of Matt, she clung to him, her eyes tracking Saga's movements.

At the Gryffindor's explanation, Eleanor frowned.
"So what? I don't see what the big deal is!" She said, confused. Matthew and Saga both debated over whether it was Ezra and Eswen in the bathroom. Eleanor shook her head frantically, still with a tight grasp around her brother. "There's no way Eswen would let Ezzie into a girl's bathroom!" She exclaimed, finally letting go of Matthew to walk in the direction the girl had come from. "Let's go find out~" She said happily, looking around for her friends.
