Theta Three blinked and looked down as her pendant glowed red, well that didn't look as happy as the blue ones...but it seemed she was in command of one of the other pendent wearers. Suddenly the entire test seemed a bit sadistic, she watched the other experiment with the commands. Well it seemed to work...most of the time.
"Whoever my pendant controls please come over here and introduce yourself."
She was surprised by the tone of her voice, it actually sounded sort of authoritative. Had she been a pushy person before all this happened? Maybe she was used to throwing around commands, orders, but as she had proven with her poor weapon skills it wasn't likely she had been in any kind of military position. Well now wasn't the time for such musings, she was curious if her pendent worked, and who it worked on.

"Excellent, I'd give you a cookie, but I don't seem to have any."
Theta four was neither intimidated nor moved by the words of either of the other two betas. His arms folded over his chest, eyes narrowing.
"And what would you rather I have him do, run into a wall? Attack someone else? How do you know this isn't exactly what we're supposed to be doing?"
They had been given these pendants for a reason, they were being watched, -someone- wanted them to do something with these pendants or they wouldn't have been given the ability to command another. Whether this was all a game, some experiment, or both was yet to be seen.
"You, stay on your guard, I have a bad feeling about this."

It felt like the weight around her neck got heavy and Gamma 12 suddenly couldn't feel her limbs, feeling herself tugged along against her will (though her body moved rather normally, for anybody who would be familiar with such actions), the woman moved across the way to stand in front of another player in the room, before it allowed her to have control again.
She felt like she was turning into one of the Earthbound people, to be honest.
None the less, she was frowning behind her mask. "I swear to god, if you make me do anything that is completely stupid, I might try to kill you later. So please don't make me jump around like an idiot like some people are doing..." she glanced around the room at others who had been jumping up and down and barking like dogs and all of that s**t.
She really didn't want to be put up to that. However, once her grousing was put aside, she finally took a moment to introduce herself to her new partner; "I'm Gamma 12. Might as well try to be friendly after that warning."

Bee glanced at Before as he spoke and couldn't help but give a wan smile "Thanks for the support Before" She said before turning her attention back to Theta-4 she realized having only now noticed the number on his suit. "They told us to test the pendants..not embarrass our partners. If we're going to end up working with one another - I don't know about you but I think I want my partner operating at the best of their abilities" She stated with a shrug - because clearly the more humane plea hadn't done much to sway the other person. Time to take the logical route then.
She had to agree with the whole bad feeing bit though and glanced around uneasily herself before commenting almost off handedly "His name is Bix..you know..B-6 mashed together"

"It's okay guys." Bix waved his hand as he was brought to his feet with the command. Not much changed about him but his posture had improved. He looked more upright, using his height to look rather imposing. His hands were clenched into fists with the absence of a weapon and he felt hyper aware of everything around him.
"Thanks though." His ever-cracking tone had genuine thanks for his fellow betas but also a bit of resignation. "He's right though. I mean.. we are probably going to have to fight or something. The pendant didn't work the first time for some reason. What if our lives are on the line and the pendant fails?" Then he would have to rely on his own floppy, noodle-like will. That was ALWAYS a bad thing.

Delta Nine shook her head. "Believe me, I have no interest in making you look like a fool. I think it's safe to say that we're both in a position we'd much rather not be in." Whether they wanted to be in this situation or not was inconsequential here. "I'm Delta Nine," she added softly, "Nice to meet you, I guess." After a moment of silence, Delta Nine waved a gloved hand. "I guess we should practice using this thing," she said, quiet for another moment before she added, "Make a fist. Start off simple."

Before continued to frown at Theta Four (dude, that is too long, from now on he's) "Thor, making Bix run into a wall is mean, pretty sure that's obvious. Making Bix attack someone else, maybe not so much because Bix got BALLS!" He declared with a fist pump. Beta Four clearly has enormous faith in his teammates. After all, they've survived for this long, haven't they?
At Bix's concern, Before tilted his head in confusion. "Pendant failing means you do what you've been doing since we woke up in the cornfields. Plus, you know you got us!" He added, slinging an arm around Bee while gesturing to himself. "A-and don't the dead come back anyway or was that just a one-time thing because of Death-on-Hooves mojo?" He recalled Beta 1's return and some of the Pink-Es too.

"Asking someone to do what they would already do normally is hardly an effective test."
Ask someone to raise their hand or walk across the room, and there was no way to know if they had acted on the order or had decided to do so on their own, There was no risk involved in either activity and it was something the other person may have been thinking of doing anyway. But ask someone to do something silly or embarrassing, something they weren't so likely to do on their own, and it was far more likely they were acting under the influence of the command.
"We've already seen the pendant can fail, I for one would like to have -some- idea of when and how that could happen."
For example if the will of the one under the control had an effect on how well it worked. But he was done making his partner do stupid tricks, for now, instead for the moment he was more concerned with whatever was coming next, because they had -not- been brought here just to play silly games and stare at red and blue crystals.
A brow raised, his gaze turned to Before. Thor? Seriously? Seriously?! Fine, whatever, for all he knew his own name could have been even dumber. If they wanted to call him Thor, he didn't care.
"I suggest trying decaf."

Jump up and down and wave your arms in the air, hmm? Thyme didn't mind doing this. Which was convenient, because the pendant making itself comfortable around his neck wasn't going to give him any choice in the matter. No wonder the mysterious Dr. H had introduced the option of taking off the pendant early on. He shot a wary look around the room even as he shifted to obey the command. Just what were these pendants protecting them from? The command just wasn't enough of a nuisance right now for him to want to find out.
What it did give him some choice in was in how to carry out the command. "And" could be judged consecutive, couldn't it? He jumped up and down just twice, very slightly and very quickly. Then he waved his arms slowly over his head, leisurely as a windmill, once his feet had settled on the ground again. Still probably looked silly (street cred going into the negatives now, he was sure of it), but now he knew that there was some room for interpretation with the commands even if he had to obey. He grinned with satisfaction.
As that thought clicked into place, so did another. He recognized that voice. The satisfied grin a mere moment ago deepened into an expression of genuine delight. "Fedora! Looks like we're going to be Pied Pipering the pests together," he said, making his way over.

Beta Four listened stubbornly trying to refute Thor's words but was obviously coming up short. So instead, he pouted and folded his arms across his chest. "You could've just gone into specifics or something. At least you didn't make him take off his pants and jacket."
Before looked partially taken aback by Theta Four's suggestion and partially confused as evidenced by the scratching of his head. "You rather we call you Decaf instead of Thor?" The pout deepened as he squeaked the sole of his boot against the gym's floor, "How'd you even get to Decaf anyway? Golf would've made more sense," he mumbled to himself.
Logic is clearly not Before's strong suit. Why did the Betas put up with him again? Oh yeah, willing meatshield.

Fedora raised her head, also genuinely happy. She raised her hand for a fistbump, her shoulders back in a posture that radiated delight.
"I don't know what we've gotten into, but I'm letting you know now, I'm not aiming to die today." She lowered her head slightly. "I have a feeling we're going to be attacking other players," She added in a lower voice, just so he could hear. "Is there anyone you want me to avoid?" Fedora glanced around at the other people giving commands, frowning behind her mask.
"Douches." She glanced back to Thyme. "Stay on your guard. I'm by your side until the end." Her head tilted again as she thought of something else.
"Tell me... have you seen Tattoo?"

Thyme gamely bumped his knuckles against Fedora's. "Oh, good. Dying isn't on my to-do list either. Dying for a game is never a priority." He leaned in to catch the quieter words. "It's possible. Am I foolish to hope we won't have to?" he murmured back, his voice just loud enough for her. Then he glanced over the others, shrugging a shoulder. "Well, you recognize the Gammas and the Eta on the beach as well as I do, I think. While we didn't make a formal pact, I'm reluctant to go against them."
Her second question made him shake his head. "I haven't," he admitted. "I don't think she's here at all. She probably made it all the way to town before getting the cell phone message. We'll find her after we're done here, sound good?"

She nodded, thinking a moment on his words. "I hate to say it... but when you went ahead of me, I stayed behind and asked them point blank where they stood, and didn't get a definite answer at all. I don't think they'll be so willing to not hurt us." Fedora shook her head. "And that one I was partnered with last time, they just... stood around. When I was trying to protect you guys, she refused to let me attack. So I'm really wary of her."
Her gaze went to him. "One is never a fool to hope for peace. Unfortunately, this isn't the time to wish for it... others won't think the same way we do. This is survival."
Leaning her head against his shoulder, she let out a sigh. "That sounds good. I miss her. I missed you, too. You guys are the closest thing I had to friends in this place, if one can even have friends in this place."

"Whomever is connected to my pendant, please come to me?" Gamma Eight asked, looking around the room. This was a bizarre test, she thought, and undoubtedly one that would end in bloodshed. The others she had been with at the beach were here as well, and she had all plans to avoid them, but there was little she could do. First she would find out who she was ordering around, and then they could deal with teh issue of strategy together.

"Thor was a god" Three reminded the Theta with a shrug "There are worse things to be named after" She continued, glancing at Before for a few moments - regardless of the fact that she didn't particularly like Thor's words or Bix's for that matter, she had to admit that some of them made sense. She didn't have to like them but she had to consider them..for her sake as well a Before's sake - and if she could do anything about it Bix's sake too.
"Well maybe we will have to fight - but we've already been through a giant battle with another team...and a battle with a zombie person" She reminded them with a tone of encouragement "We made it through that - and we can make it through this too, if the pendant fails then Before is right - just use your best judgement..it's been doing pretty well for us so far" She didn't feel the need to remind Before that some of those whom had died had not come back, doing so would only deflate him and she really did think that she would need him on his toes whenever this Dr H person decided to tell them what they had to do.
