(( LOL, I know OOCly that you guys were offline. D7 just had to be yelling something when his solo battle was going on so long XDD

Also, I think you mean to attack Theta 13, not Delta 13 ^_~ ))

Delta Seven relaxed a little as Four ran to join him. He knew he'd made the right choice, offering just earlier to stand by her. He was almost positive that Six and Twelve would join them soon.

Even if no one else from Delta Squad joined them, together the four of them might be enough to turn the fight in their favour.

Delta Nine watched the horse-thing croak. As it died, of course the pendant dropped and she stood back and snorted while both Deltas and Thetas dove in after it, hurting themselves in the process. When someone she didn't recognize acquired the pendant, Delta Nine was ready to give up. Oh well, too slow, there will be another chance.

And then Delta Seven made a move that had Delta Nine's jaw drop. He was actually attacking the Theta that snagged the pendant.

Delta Nine's mind raced as things sped up from there. Ever since waking up earlier today she hadn't been feeling particularly ballsy. She hadn't even wanted to leave the tent, but hell, if she hadn't... well, Delta Nine didn't want to be alone either.

More importantly, she certainly didn't want to die over a necklace.

Weighing her odds, Delta Nine thought about the situation. Was it worth actually killing someone over? There would be at least three other pendants, and the text had mentioned that thirteen of them would make it off the island. She would just have to try her luck in surviving until the end, and fighting against others that were bigger, stronger and faster than her didn't seem the best avenue for survival. As she seemed to do when she was absolutely frustrated and annoyed, Delta Nine rubbed the heel of her palm against her forehead.

Delta Nine shook her head again and slowly backed away. Even if she had to go alone, maybe that would be better than hanging out with cutthroats what wouldn't hesitate to kill you over a necklace. What happened when there was only Deltas (or Thetas) left? Would they turn on another? It wasn't like they owed anyone anything, right?

Letting the fog surround her, Delta Nine hoped that she was making the right choice here.

"Theta Thirteen! Give it to me, I'll return it to you once we're safe!" She called out and hoped that the other Theta would trust her. She knew they had no reason to trust each other, wearing the same color probably didn't mean much, but she didn't want anyone to get killed. She figured she could turn and run since no one had hit her yet...or noticed her.

She slipped up towards the fighting group and tried to kidney punch Delta-7. Of course through the armor and all it probably wasn't very effective. Still she couldn't just let her own team-mate person be ganged up on right?

It didn’t take long for the horse to be defeated, but as soon as it tumbled to the ground it emitted a dark smoke. People immediately plunged into the darkness, but Twelve could see their armor corroding. Warily, he chose to remain outside of the smoke. One of the blue-armored people—Five?—lunged for the pendant and managed to snatch it into his arms. Delta 7 went after him and a fight began to ensue.

Realizing this his teammates needed backup, he hastily swooped in and attacked Theta Three with his dagger. “Sorry that I’m late to the party,” apologized to Seven and Four.

Theta four was angry, though who or what he was more angry about was up for debate. Was he more angry at himself for being too slow and missing completely as he dove for the pendant, or was he more angry at the person who had beaten him to the prize, or maybe he was angry at that stupid monster for disappearing without leaving him a FLAME THROWER!

Either way it was a fierce glare that was leveled on the one who held the pendant, teammate or not he wanted that necklace, he needed it.

Oh but he wasn't stupid. Attack a team mate now, make himself a traitor and a target? Not a chance. No, let the others fight it out like the rats they were, let them do the dirty work, and when they were all weakened (or better yet dead), from fight amongst themselves, that would be his chance.

A sly grin, hidden by his mask. Yes, for now he would wait, he'd have his chance.
PostPosted: Mon Apr 04, 2011 8:18 am

What an adrenaline rush! Delta One grinned wildly behind her mask as the towering doom horse dissipated, She took what time she had to dive away from the creature, doing a tuck and roll, then bounding back to her feet. She found, when she rose, that she was nearest to Delta Three. The horse had left behind a thick and dangerous looking black smoke, and of course, the pendant!

As tempting as it was to go after an item of such value, an item that would supposedly ensure survival on day seven of this ordeal, Delta One hesitated and held back, watching as others from both her squad and the other one leapt in to attempt to fish the pendant back out again.
It was obvious that the black fog was doing damage to those who reached into it, from the way they looked at their arms and hands, clenching and unclenching fists. "That pendant might prove to present more trouble then it's worth" She muttered quietly to herself, her voice muffled by the mask that encompassed it.

Sure enough, it wasn't long before somebody (from the other squadron it seemed) managed to snag the prize, and then for Delta Seven to swiftly attack. She was surprised by his bold (yet rash) attempt to steal the pendant away. She shook her head, and frowned.
It was becoming quite obvious that early alliances were already in play. And Delta One, having not made any firm allegiances with anybody just yet, was not keen on jumping into a battle to defend somebody who had chosen to disclude her. Indeed already, one of the Deltas was even bolting away! Thirteen would survive...thirteen! And here there were already more then that...how many more were there out there?

Silently, she weighed her options. If she jumped into the fray, she could possibly prove her worth to the two other Deltas, fighting together, and join them to fight off the three members of the other squad that were already fighting back. But in doing so, if none of the other Deltas that remained jumped in to help, she could just be killing herself to further the gain of a group who would likely just turn around and stab her in the back. UGH! Decisions!

She turned her head towards Delta Three, who was already within speaking distance. "What do you think?" She was, surprisingly, ready to follow him, of all other squad members, into the fray. Her instincts told her that she could trust him, and Delta Eight, who seemed to follow Delta Three just at the moment.

The sudden appearance of the horse-beast was just as suddenly snuffed out leaving Theta Seven with a bit of a huffing breath and stunned stance as he watched everyone dive for the pendant. When one of his 'teammates' grabbed it up he tilted his head and was about to congratulate them on a grab well made then someone from another team attacked them and...

Well it was a general bit of Chaos that he wasn't quite prepared to deal with and now he had a decision to make.

Would there be other pendants? Probably. So he wasn't certain why everyone was fussing over that particular one all of the sudden and of course there was also the idea that perhaps he should help his teammates who he had no particular attachment or love for. Sure they all came in and fought the beast where he would have definitely died if he took it on by himself but they didn't fight it to help him as far as he knew. They all wanted the pendant.

This only drove home the idea that this was everyone was just in it to survive. Certainly you could team up but how long would it last when things came to a head?

He shifted in his place a bit as he numbly watched the squabble with a bit of detachment before he decided he'd wander off and let everyone else fight over one measly pendant while he wandered to look for another chance and deal with attackers as they came at him. The fog engulfed him readily...

She tried to ignore the sting of the dagger and swung her mace at Delta 7 with a huff. "Get off of him!"

"Damnit Theta Thirteen either run yourself or give that thing to someone who will before you get yourself and the rest of us killed!" She was ready to back off if things got any grittier. She did not relish being stabbed ganged up on, or killed just over a pendant even if it was supposed salvation.

There was no time to really celebrate their victory for the pendant dropped and Theta-1 just stared at it. That was... Acid. Acid was... Painful? Bad for you? Involved in science? For a long time she just stood there, staring at the ring surrounding the ticket to her survival and she couldn't do a thing. Her mind was reeling at the idea of acid, because in theory she knew what it was in but in practice... Well, she didn't want to get hurt really. And why did she know what acid was and not her name? Or where she came from? This was all very annoying and she didn't even bother dodging for it. There were already too many and already someone had grabbed it (someone from her own team, no less. Just went to show that maybe she wasn't number 1 for a reason) and though she seemed to be reacting slowly, she at least noticed others attacking.
And there was no way she was going to get caught up in that already.
She wanted to stay alive as long as possible.

Turning tail and running off, Theta-1 pocketed her gun for just long enough to realize that was stupid before grabbing it with both hands. Better to keep it at the ready in case something else popped up.
She didn't really know where she was running, only in a general direction of what felt right. More than running she needed allies. There was only way she was going to survive this island and that was to play dirty. So run and find someone to make your friend and steal from them what you could. Maybe loot their body if they died.
Tragic, cruel and downright mean, but Theta-1 felt that was more right than running.
She didn't even consider what that meant about her forgotten personality that she was learning from herself.

Delta Seven had to laugh as a girl called out asking for the pendant and promising to give it back later. As if that wasn't a scheme and a half.

"Sure thing," he chuckled to Theta Five. "Give her the pendant. You'll never see her, or it, ever again. Not until she pushes you off a cliff, anyway."

He wondered if T5 was really that stupid. Who'd turn around and make the damage D7 was dealing him count for nothing, let someone else take his prize. She'd just become someone else's target anyway.

"Keep an eye on her," he taunted T5 and T13. "She'll be attacking you once she realises you won't give her your new shiny."

Meanwhile, three on one? What the ******** were the rest of Delta Squad doing out there?

"Would one of you ********' pansy a** Deltas attack these pansy a** Thetas already?" he roared over his shoulder. "The ******** you think we're here for, tea and cakes? Survival, bitches! Get yer ******** hands dirty or commit ******** seppuku already. Get that goddamn pendant!"

No one was gonna make it through this by playing nice and refusing to attack. Delta Seven had at least thought they could stick together as a squad for a while, take out the others first, but it seemed his own squad didn't have half the loyalty that the Thetas were showing. Just his rotten luck.

It did seem that another Theta was answering the call, and while they were helping out, Theta-5 wasn't about to toss the pendant to her. T-13 probably would have shouted at him for being so stupid, and this wasn't an ultimate test of loyalty just yet. "I'm good! I can handle the pendant." It wasn't meant to come off as distrust, but the reality was that if he was going to be attacked for something, he might as well stick through it till the end. As long as T-13 was safe as he already felt guilty making him fight alongside him, but appreciated him even more for it.

"At least I have someone fighting on my side!" T-5 shouted at D-7, who's team was leaving one by one into the fog. T-5 was grateful for that.

With his stake poised, he went to fight off D-7 again.

The equine monster was gone before Theta Nine could muster up another assault, and he couldn't deny that he was relieved. The relief was only short-lived, however, as Theta Five moved across the ring of corrosion and earned himself not only a pendant but also a whole horde of new enemies. At least he and the other Thetas looked to be holding their own for now.

Fists weren't of much use here, Theta Nine was starting to suspect, and of course the man or whatever organization was backing him up didn't bother to assign anyone any spares. Might be a good idea to see what makeshift weapon he could make out of whatever was lying around, right? He wasn't about to lasso or garrote anyone with his extra bandages.

The initial plan was to pick up a branch or a rock or something, then maybe come back to help the Thetas in battle, but the fog had other ideas. Even though he felt like he was heading right back to the fight, he only wandered further and further away.

((Sorry for not posting earlier! Oh, I love college. @@ And yes, D-3 does not know his symbols well. He goes by color since it's easier to identify.))

Just . . . just like that. The horse erupted into smoldering bits from their combined attacks, and he watched with awed eyes as the pendant - a glimmering piece of stone - fall amidst the acidic smoke left in the monster's wake. Honestly, the guy was just too stunned - to think that they managed to defeat the hellhorse in one go . . .

Maybe they had a chance. Maybe the relief from not dying would -

And then chaos erupted. A teal-uniformed person managed to snatch the pendant, and then the rioting began. Poor D-3, he was a little slow on the uptake in making sure that his equipment hadn't been damaged by punching at a thing that seemed half made of fire itself.

And here he was, wanting to stop and congratulate his team . . .

However, one thing could be said about D-3: he might be optimistic, but he wasn't stupid as some might have assumed. He had tactics, or a semblance of them, and the thought process went as such:

Some of the teals were beginning to disappear, or were otherwise hesitating to enter the fray. Already Delta Seven was locked in combat with "Teal Five", which he figured the guy could handle well enough - didn't he "recruit" some people of his own and go off earlier? If things were starting to take a turn for the worse, then he'd step in and try to help.

Maybe this would have changed if the guy hadn't been cussing his a** off at them for doing nothing. D-3 had never been hostile to the guy and, survival or not, that wasn't the way to be gaining allies he thought.

For now, his eyes locked on the supporting "Teal Three" who thought to protect his teammate's sorry hide. If he could scare that one off, then the pendant holder would be all alone . . .

I don't want to do this, but . . . Have to, D-3 thought with an inner sigh as he cracked his knuckles and began to run straight for "Teal Three".

You don't like violence? When did this happen? asked another voice within him that made his will falter briefly.

No. Not right now! He aimed a fist at his opponent and said, "Back off and you won't meet his fate!"

Glancing back at another Theta Thirteen tilted his head for a moment, "Are you blind, I don't have a damn thing! "Hey! Pick on someone your own size!" Delta Four yelled, leaping into the fray beside Delta Seven, turning her back to his, so she could guard it. She turned her head slightly, speaking to him. "I've got your back. It would stand a better chance for one of us to grab it, because our group doesn't seem as cut-throat as these guys do. I'll tell you now, I'll stick with you guys as long as it takes, even if it means my death." She gave a snort, slightly amused. "I may not remember, but this is the most fun I've had. Probably." She turned to Theta Thirteen and scoffed. "Like I said... pick on someone your own size!" She launched herself forwards, striking out with her dagger.

It didn't hit for very much at all, as it just grazed him... but she hoped it would get his attention, nonetheless.

"You back off now and I won't brain you with this mace how's that sound?"

With that out of the way he turned back towards his main target; Delta Seven...

It had been there just a moment ago... the pendant... where did it...? At that moment Delta 5 realized that she'd gone after it just a few moments too late as she glanced up and saw someone in a teal uniform clutching the pendant in their hand. Well damn this was going to be more difficult now since killing someone so soon hadn't been in her plan of action.

Standing up, Delta 5 took a look around at her other team mates for a moment... taking stock of how everyone had been hold up as well as how many other members of the opposing team were still around. Their odds didn't look good if the others had their act together, seeing as a good bit of the Deltas had gone off on their own or had come in from the tent and had no idea where their loyalties laid.

' Why wasn't I faster... just another few seconds and... well I would have had a giant target plastered on me is what would have happened.' she thought to herself, though that was soon interupted by a long string of colorful words being yelled out. Feeling a small twitch starting in her right eye, Delta 5 glanced back over to see Delta 7 in a fight with Theta 5... or at least appeared to be. Other thetas had joined in the fight and a Delta or two... but she was throughly irked at the moment.

'Why the heck should I help him? I mean seriously, the guy acts as if he is the only one going any work just because of deciding to attack the other on his own. Cuss me out again a*****e, I dare you... if i wasn't worried about needing help myself down the road I'd help the Thetas kick your a** just for that.' Delta 5 fumed to herself, though when she saw D-3 and a few others that hadn't irritated her yet jumping in to help it was the deciding factor. She would need help later on... and as much as she couldn't care about the angry little man, D-3 and the others had been decent.

Glancing around quickly while re-adjusting her knife, Delta 5 headed into the fray, focusing on Theta 3 and taking a swing at them with her dagger. Might as well help knock off some of the assists in hopes of their team getting the pendant.. better to know where it was than to have it lost in the fog with someone else.

Coughing in the acrid smoke that filled her lungs, Delta 6 came to just in time to see Delta 7 being attacked by a group of Thetas. When we left that tent together, I guess we agreed to work as a team.
She waited until a few of the group around him fell back, looking for an opening, then ran forward and slashed at the shoulder of the one in teal holding the pendant. She tried to speak, to shout an apology for her delay in coming to his defense, but found her throat still burning from the smoke surrounding the decaying monster.
