Despite almost being trampled by a speeding Arcanine, Claire managed to stumble out of the way before pulling a third pokeball from her waist. A gold and white Pidgeot emerged from the flash of light, and her trainer immediately pointed at the Arcanine near Frost. "Air slash." Hopefully the large dog wouldn't hurt the man, who seemed to be in more pain from something she couldn't see instead of the bullet that had simply grazed his arm. Something to ask him about at a later point when they weren't in imminent danger of being shot and/or arrested.

Odette obliged with a loud screech, launching herself into the air and flapping her wings a few moments before using them to send the air-attack hurtling towards the fire-type.

Alexina paused at the top of the steps, glaring at the Growlithe and police. Her Ice Beams weren't working, so she instead opted for something a little different. The fur on her back bristled with ice before an Icy Wind stirred up around the stairwell to hopefully slow them down.

Zeus bolted over towards Claire, skidding to a stop beside her with his cheeks sparking a moment before he launched a Thunderbolt at the large fire-type. When could they get the hell out of here?! He just wanted to sleep! Or maybe go eat cookies. No no - chocolate. Yes, chocolate would be much better.

After having passed them, the Arcanine turned around to face the rockets. Its large, bulky and fluffy form effectively blocking their escape route. And at their rear, the small fleet of Growlithes blocked the opposite direction, leaving the Rockets effectively trapped unless they were able to defeat the fire dogs.

The Hypnosis though, didn't work this time as the Arcanine ducked his head and shook it, managing to fend off the effects for now. The thunderbolt struck it though, and it howled in pain... sparks dancing through its fur and managing to paralyze him. However, it was still able to manage an attack.

"RRROOOOORUU!" The large beast issuing a Roar that reverberated through the stairwell.

This was not good. With the deafening roar Persephone vanished back into her pokeball, and Frost spent precious moments calling her back out. "I do not have time for this," he informed the forbidden pokemon sharply, "you will obey me; Confuse Ray, now!" Hopefully it would put the beast off enough for them all to slip past. It had better, because he was not going to be shot (again), manhandled (again), or arrested today; his schedule and sensibilities simply did not allow for it. Blast, he hadn't had the chance to get those parts. Still, he would probably be forgiven under the circumstances.

"Skreeeeeeeee!" Furious at the Arcanine for humiliating them so, Persephone only wanted to tear it apart... Orders. They did not want to obey! The dominant voice did not wish to either, but she forced them to all the same. Orders were orders, and if they were disobeyed they would never be allowed out again. She would not let that happen. Seething with rage, the ghost and dark type blasted the Arcanine with Confuse Ray just as ordered.

That roar caused Orihara to cringe as he clasped his hands over his ears, bracing himself against the ground to keep from being thrown back. It wasn't so pleasant being so close to such a large pokemon using such a powerful attack. The man felt as though his very ability to stay on his feet was threatened, and though his eyes were shut tight, he could have sworn the force of the roar had caused him to dig his heels into the ground as he was blown back a few inches.

The offending sound reverberated through Celty's pokeball. She didn't like the sound of it; it wasn't anything like the puppy sounds of before. Called out from her pokeball by the force of the roar, the ghost/dark-type stared the Arcanine down. It wanted to blow her away? Two could play at that game. With a sound like a screaming banshee, the forbidden pokemon blew an Ominous Wind against the fire-type, this time with direct and focused aim. She may not have been as powerful or experienced as the others, but she wanted to do something. That, and Persephone strangely seemed to have disappeared. If she was gone, then Celty felt that it was even more of her responsibility to get all of them safely out of the mess they were in.

Izaya, seizing his chance as soon as the roar was over, dove under the Arcanine. He didn't realize Celty and Persephone were attacking until it was too late, and it was all he could do to duck and hope that the legendary pokemon would take the brunt of the blows. He wasn't too comfortable with his current location under the belly of the beast.

The roar didn't seem to do anything to Zeus, instead he growled and bounded towards the Arcanine, loosing another powerful Thunderbolt at the large canine. Alexina on the other hand squealed and dove behind Claire's legs, huddling there. The young woman sighed frustratedly, staring down at the frightened Glaceon with a stern look before nudging her with her boot. "Stop that. Icy Wind again," she ordered, and the little ice-type whined a bit before launching another burst of cold wind at the Growlithes behind them.

Arceus, seriously - did he just dive under the Arcanine? What was he thinking? He just dove under it and then stopped. Did he want it to fall and squash him or something? Ugh.

The Arcanine was unfortunately outnumbered, for it anyway, and was hit by the confuse ray and two attacks. The fire type groaned, not even noticing as Izaya slid beneath him. All of this, combined with the paralysis, caused the Arcanine to fall with a heavy thud, whether or not the human was still underneath him.

The Growlithes below weathered the icy wind rather well, and shot blasts of fire back up towards the Glaceon and the Rockets. However, the steps were slick, even after the ice was melted, and made is difficult for them to advance and get closer to their now fallen comrade.

As soon as the Arcanine slumped Frost made his move. Scrambling over the fallen fire-type and hissing between his teeth in pain the small blond bolted up the stairs and out into the open. He could see the car. Grabbing the keys out of his pocket he unlocked it with the press of a button as he drew close. If he could just get the engine started he'd be safe so long as he didn't get shot (again) with anything more than a glancing blow, and the tyres didn't get shot, and the car didn't get blown up by a powerful attack from an unexpected source... Okay, there were still an awful lot of things that could go wrong, but dwelling on them too much would only distract him from the business of getting away in once piece.

Persephone was not far behind her trainer, shooting off more Confuse Rays at any of the enemies that might still be following.

Oh, not good. Not good at all. Izaya struggled pathetically, the lower half of his body still stuck under the fallen Arcanine as Celty floated over to him. She seemed unsure whether to be glad at their success or ashamed for having helped the large pokemon fall on her trainer. Said trainer wasn't in any shape to scold her, either.

When he tried to move, the bullet wound he'd received earlier when he had been distracted really began to affect him. The pain shot through his nervous system, discouraging him from using his muscles to pull himself out from under the canine. He clenched his teeth in agony and decided to remain still.

"Celty, return," he whispered, holding out the pokeball. It was all the Spiritomb could do to obey, but she cast the small army of officers and growlithe a fretful look before doing so. She didn't have high hopes of being summoned from her pokeball by Izaya again for quite some time, if by anyone at all. She had done her best, though, and there was nothing else.

Wheels turned in the grunt's mind as he lay still, wondering what would happen next. He didn't doubt Frost and Claire would be long gone, as it seemed to be every man for themselves. He wasn't about ready to give up just yet, though. As soon as whoever owned the Arcanine returned the fainted pokemon to their ball, he hoped to sneak away, preferably unnoticed. If he was lucky, the escape of the other two would have captured the majority of the officers' attention. At least maybe once he got to a safe place, he could find his way back to headquarters on foot. Yeah, that's it, he told himself, sweat dripping down his forhead. Keep thinking positive.

Arcanine down - good. Claire returned Alexina and Zeus jumped onto her shoulder again as she easily and quickly climbed over the downed canine - only to find the dumbass stuck under it. Her eye twitched for a moment before she put her hands on her hips and glared at him venomously. "Are you f*cking serious?! You go under it and then don't move? Arceus you're the most bone-headed, idiotic dumbasses I've ever had the displeasure of meeting," she huffed as she pointed at the large fire-type. "Zeus, Strength."

The chubby Pikachu grinned maliciously as he jumped onto the ground, his cheeks sparked and crackled for a moment before he paused next to Izaya and did his best strong-man impression, complete with showing off his 'muscles'. No time to mess around though, so with a grunt he wriggled as far under the mass of fluff as he could - why did it have so much?! - before attempting to lift the thing and throw it down the stairs.

Claire, on the other hand, had summoned her Pidgeot and had already climbed on her back, waiting for the Pikachu to finish. Izaya would quite obviously have no further help from her, and if he came within five feet of her bird she'd blast him with a flying attack of some sort.

It was oddly disturbing to have a Pikachu bury under your mass and fluff. What was even moreso was the fact that the pint sized rodent was actually able to lift the Arcanine off the ground. The fire dog's eyes going wide, although he was still unable to move due to paralysis. The Growlithe's at the bottom of the stairs all cocked their heads to the side in unison as they watched this.

However, the shouting of policemen below signaled that the cops were coming and quickly.

When he jumped into the car and fastened his seat belt, Izaya was not with him. Stupid boy, where was he? He couldn't leave the boy behind, he'd probably betray them in order to save his own miserable hide. Blowing out a sharp breath through his nose Frost turned the key. As the engine roared into life instead of tearing away from the base right away he swung around next to the entrance, having missed the action with the Arcanine completely.

Winding down the window, he bellowed; "Get up here you blithering idiot!" He couldn't wait long, but he couldn't allow the boy to be captured either. Darn it all to heck; his ribs were agonizing, his arm hurt, and he was risking his neck for somebody whose neck he would like to wrap his hands around and squeeze very hard.

"Calm down, sweetie," he urged Claire with a bit of venom in his voice. It was difficult to avoid being noticed when you were getting yelled at by a big-mouthed female on a pidgeot, no matter how still you laid. "I've got it under control. I'm a big boy; I can handle myself. Now why don't you fly away and escape on your giant bird?"

But, of course, that was too much for the woman to do. No, she had to go and insult him in front of everyone. How dandy. And if that wasn't enough, she managed to inflict more public humiliation by having her little electric rodent lift the furry Arcanine's mass off of him. At that point, Izaya thought he might have preferred to have been captured by the police. He despised being indebted to others.

Giving Zeus a little crooked smirk, he crawled out quickly and clapped as the Pikachu did what he could not and even attempted to shove the fire-type down the stairs. "Thank you," he told both pokemon and trainer, though it was one of the most grudging thanks one could think to hear. Wonderful. Now he owed her. And she probably wouldn't let him forget it, either. What was her name again...? He couldn't recall.

Oooh...there was that pain once more. Nearly had forgotten about that. Without bothering to respond to Frost with the words that rested on the tip of his tounge, Grunt Nakura hopped into the back of the van.

Zeus snorted as he threw the Arcanine at the stairs, hoping to trap the Growlithes and maybe even the cops beneath its furry bulk.

"Obviously you can't if you're stupid enough to get yourself stuck under an Arcaine. Dumbass," she sighed, stretching out her hand with Zeus' pokeball and recalling him quickly before clipping it back to her belt. "Next time try not to be so stupid, will you?" Though that might be impossible. Hopefully Frost would be alright to drive, but Odette couldn't carry so many people anyway, so whatever. With an irritated sigh, she urged the bird into the air to circle and gain altitude, while also keeping an eye on the van to make sure they wouldn't get overrun by the cops.

And the Arcanine went tumbling down the stairs, the Growlithe's eyes going wide when this hulking mass of fur came at them. And the police were just reaching them on the stairs as it was coming too. The Arcanine slammed into them as if they were bowling pins, and fell down the rest of the steps.

"What makes you so sure I wasn't doing what I did for a reason?" Izaya yelled out the window, uncertain if the woman could hear him. "I had a plan and believe it or not, you were only in the way." That had been it. He really couldn't handle this sort of harassment; not from people he had just met. Sure, perhaps he was being a little hypocritical, but at that point in time, the grunt didn't care. He was in a rotten mood and did not take kindly to being rescued and scolded like a child.

Withdrawing into the van's back seat, Nakura shut the window and leaned forward on his knees so as not to touch his back to the back seat. In silence, he peered over the shoulder of the front seat before him to assess Frost's status. He seemed okay to be driving more or less, so Izaya refrained from complaining.
