Seeing his beloved asleep, he left his gift on her bedside table, gave her a light kiss on the lips, and grabbed a nearby chair, waiting for morning.

Ray shook his head. "I would but I can't- It's against the policy here. Even I can't break policy... but I DID get you some of that fancy designer cake you were eyeing last week in that desert lounge we went to!" He revealed.

Yuri almost burst through the front doors of the hospital, Lillie still carefully cradled in his arms. "Somebody please help!" He exclaimed quickly, fearful that taking any more time would just make things worse. Several people turned and stared at the two of them, startled at Yuri's actions, until one of the nearby nurses caught sight of the blood on Lillie's clothing. Hurrying a stretcher out and helping Yuri to set her down onto it, she was wheeled towards a long corridor. Yuri was about to rush after them, but was stopped by a doctor, telling him that there wasn't anything he could do at the moment and that he should wait here. Yuri glared at the man for a moment, almost about to just knock the man down to stay at his wife's side, but managed to restrain himself, he didn't need to add a charge for assault to the list of worries in his mind.

Above the mild chatter of the people in the waiting room, Yuri easily heard his name be called out. Standing slowly, he saw the woman in the lab coat and headed towards her. "I'm Yuri. My wife, Lillie...is she okay? What happened?" He asked, worry filled his voice, his eyes had gone a little bloodshot from the fatigue and anxiety.

Yuri took a seat and exhaled softly, closing his eyes for a second before nodding, that was good news at least. Looking up at her again, he leant a little forwards in his seat. "Lillie's about a month pregnant...do you know if anything happened to the baby...or what actually happened in the first place?" He asked, getting straight to the points that mattered the most to him.

Yuri already had a mild feeling of dread waiting for the doctor's answer, but he was in no way prepared for her answer. His face drained of all color, he felt cold all of a sudden, a feeling in his stomach that made him feel like he was going to be sick. He was silent for a few moments before standing up and walking away from his chair, his hands clentching fistfuls of hair as he stared up at the ceiling. He let out another breath, but this time because he had held it the moment she had started speaking. Yuri's eyes watered, but he refused to let any tears fall, he knew that she was right, what was important now was that Lillie recovered both physically and mentally. "I...I'd like to see her now, doctor...is that possible?" He asked, his voice weakened drastically in comparison to before.

Yuri nodded and followed the doctor out of the office, trying to calm himself before they entered the room containing Lillie. When he saw her, his heart sunk, she was easily doing worse than he was at this moment. Walking quietly over to the bed, he knelt down beside it so they'd be roughly at eye level, he placed a hand gently on her closest shoulder. "Li--...Lillie..?" He stuttered out, hoping shock wouldn't totally stop her from responding.

Yuri smiled very weakly at Lillie's response, taking her hand gently. No longer able to fight it, tears started falling down along his cheeks and dropped to the floor, his throat tightened. He was so happy to become a father, they were so happy to be parents, but like some cruel twist, that happiness was taken away from him. What would they tell the families? The night they knew of it's existence was the same one the baby was basically wiped from reality, like this was all just some fading dream. However, Yuri knew that he was wide awake, that this dream-turned-nightmare was all happening right before his concious self. He shut his eyes tightly and stayed there, not knowing what to do or what to say.
