Everything was a complete tangled mess of flying spells, blades clashing, smart retorts fired at each other...strengths, hopes, ideals. She frowned as she kept her gaze upon the battles going around her. Zeo, Rednal...Soji. She took a step forward, ready to start a run towards the silverette's fight against the redhead and the ...demon looking man in hopes of giving him a hand, when a presence behind her made her turn despite the noises going all around. So many times inside the TV world had been enough to heighten her senses and reflects, but it hadn't been enough to dodge the strengthened Vile Assault that came her way; the green clad girl giving her little time to block the physical attack entirely. Arms moved in front of her as protection, but the impact was still immensely strong, sending her off her feet and to the ground with a horrible thud. The air escaped her lungs as her back hit the floor, a sharp pain stinging were the kick had landed. Hands pressed against her side, her teeth clenching. The dark haired girl couldn't waste her time on the ground though, and despite the pain, she stood up almost immediately after she fell, dark eyes locking on the spear wielding woman before her.

She wouldn't let her win...She could do this! "Amaterasu!" Yukiko cried, slicing the hovering card in front of her with her fan, the persona appearing before her, letting out the flames of a powerful Agidyne crash against the incoming enemy, giving her at least a little space and time to let the current information sink in. This...this had all been in vain? They had been wasting their time here...

If I found you alone in the forrest...I would let you wither and die.

The crimson butterfly’s soul smoldered with the intense hatred for Soji as she watched her master’s intense powers. The explosion was awesome it’s incredible power blowing apart the great Lord Mori’s clone and setting the shrine ablaze. Yuki didn’t even react outwardly to the great explosion, which would have sent her running for the hills long ago now barely made her bat an eyelash. A mirror image of Yuki, Sadness didn’t move an inch. The great monster behind Yuki just began to build up an immense fire in its mouth as it had once before at the beginning of the battle. ”Meltdown.” She stated ever so calmly to the giant beast behind her who had anticipated her commands. The great beast Sadness behind her unleashed its giant ball of flames onto Soji. After washing over Soji the great walls of flame spread out around the battle. The spread of the flames stopped only feet from the heels of Soji and Mifune. The walls of flame shot up around the group, the tongues of flame curled up into the air. The intense searing flames threatened to charbroil anyone who attempted to interrupt the great battle. After the flames had spread out among the group Yuki moved quickly and agilely around to Soji’s side and swung the iron headed zhua at his side. Its swing and strength would crush ribs if it struck.

Yukimura Sanada

"Fire, Air, Earth, Water, Shadow, Lightening!" Yukimura held his hand up as the light from the moon seemed to fall into it, just as it burst into flames, and in a dash (the uncontrolled, but quick directional movements of Yukimura were his forte) he reached the side of Mihawk opposite Date's three claws holding down the dagger. Two spears snapped to the side, attempting to gash Mihawk along the exposed side and deal dual-wounds with his spears that would leave him unable to cover, doubled up with the power of the Ragnarok that burned away at the edge of the six prongs of his spears, the truly deadly burning flame meant to scorch and cinder anything it could pierce with the soul of the savage tiger. "How can you serve a master who doesn't even have the heart of a warrior! To pander to tyrants and oppress people with fear, there's no honor in someone as despicable as him-!" The young cub was quick to retort with his own accusations, not ready to be played against with his not-so-fragile will just yet. It was true that at times he had questions about the right path, but his lord had taught him to be a proud leader of men and an honorable soldier, and the heart of a warrior meant more than just forcing people into battle for your own sake! Trying to protect the country, the people, to bring a new era of peace in even if it meant fighting first to accomplish that...it might not have been the best path, but it would surely pay off if there was someone as noble as his lord leading the change! What Mori was doing wasn't anything LIKE that! "You're just serving a monster...how could any warrior be so weak as to believe what he's doing is right? You're just lying to yourself!"

User Image~Date Masamune, the One-Eyed Dragon~ and ~Dracule Mihawk, Preeminent Swordsman of the Modern Age~
User Image

It was easy for the Investigation Team to be distracted with their own life-or-death battles raging towards the back of the courtyard and the Shrine itself, but in the forefront raged on a clash of titans that would make Sam Worthington and Liam Neeson blush. Fire and Lightning had joined together with all their intense fury against a foe who had proclaimed himself the greatest man in the Land of the Rising Sun to wield a blade, and with each successive clash of light and power that burst out between them, from the epicenter of the storm and the flames that raged on, it became more and more apparent that the title was not for show. Swords clashed and occasionally, crimson blood flew into the air, splattering across the grassy battlefield beneath their feet, but each time the One-Eyed Dragon recoiled from the attacks and prepared for the next around, it wasn't his Dragon Claws that stained with blood...but the Cross Punisher of his enemy, dripping with a new small wound's liquid reward from a place he had managed to put a nick in the Dragon's Scales. To say that the fight was one-sided may have been accurate, it seemed, but that wasn't to say that it was a blowout. Still standing in spite of his wounds was the Dragon, his blue bolts crackling across his six blades intensely as he continued to stalk his enemy, and the heavy breaths that his opponent took spoke towards the effort it was costing him to continue to defend against two very dangerous enemies at the frequency that he had. Mihawk's technique may have been flawless, but his energy was not limitless by any stretch of the imagination, and Masamune Date and Yukimura Sanada were not foes who tired easy. They were intensely strong in their own right, skilled to an incredible level...Mihawk seemed more as though he were holding out, scoring what smaller blows he could against his foes, and waiting for something...a sign, perhaps.

When the Shrine itself erupted into flames, the result of Mifune's strange blue wave of power, the signal that he had been waiting for had finally come. Date did not spare a backwards glance at the explosion, so focused on stalking his foe was he...it came as something of a surprise then when Mihawk stood up straight and set his cross-shaped sword upon his back as if declaring their match over. Taking the move as a sign of arrogance, an insult, the Dragon lurched forward and struck with all six of his claws in an enraged X-Shaped strike...but when the lightning hit the dirt and singed the very green blades beneath, he could see that the Christian swordsman had leaped far back, onto the wall of the fortress itself high over their heads. Gritting his teeth, his Dragon Eye met the intense eyes of the swordsman...his jacket still burned in many places from Yukimura's Ragnarok flames...but the intensity in his eyes hadn't diminished, either. It was as if the trio saw in each other similar fire...worthy enemies...but that wouldn't stop any of them from tearing one another apart when next they had the chance. "There can be no peace in this warring era by any means you, or I, possess. The Land of the Rising Sun will tear itself asunder, and God's judgment will be done, unless there arises a man wise enough and powerful enough to unite it. That is the only certain truth I have found in this country," the swordsman explained, looking down at the duo and answering Yukimura's accusations in the same straightforward manner as he always seemed to carry, "Over the last two decades there has been only one person I've seen with the wit to unite us. Dark, and selfish though his motives may be, for the future of this country...his is the only way. And for that, I will be the blade which carves out his path. This is my oath before God." Raising his hand suddenly, a small crystal flew up into the air above him...his tossing it high into the sky without looking away from his opponents. Suddenly, in an explosion of fire, a cloud of red flame erupted upward and filled the sky above...a second signal, perhaps, in the form of a Flame Magatama...and with that, the eyes of the Spears would be drawn to their Number 1 and know that the time had come.

"We will meet again, Yukimura Sanada...One-Eyed Dragon..."

And with that, Mihawk leaped backward and away from the walls of the Shrine Fortress...disappearing into the night as his allies would soon join him. Their mission had been a success this night...and now, the next stage of their master's plan could truly begin.

Soji Seta, Investigation Team Leader, Rise Kujikawa, Investigation Team Idol, and Karo Mifune, Fourth Spear of the Seven Spears of the Mori Clan
User Image

User ImageUser ImageWhat was going on in this place...why? How? It was rare that Soji ever found a situation that could confuse him to such a full extent, but trying to figure out what had just taken place in front of him, what it meant, and how much of what they had done in the last few hours was true, false, meaningful or meaningless had really thrown him for a loop. Mifune looked at him with those hollow, arrogant eyes that said he had known something the silverette hadn't all along...and that as his foe was only now realizing it, it brought some small sense of satisfaction to the character beneath that piercing gaze of his. He could only rethink what had taken place and try to understand what he had seen...they had come to save Amelia and found Minori kidnapped by the leader of this band of warriors...Motonari Mori. But what they had thought they found was not Minori and Mori himself at all, but some sort of a projection or clone...like a sort of shadow, perhaps. And now destroyed, the deception was revealed, that they had been drawn here by the kidnapping for some purpose, which listening to Mifune, seemed to be to distract them from what was really going on and where he really had taken the blond-haired member of their team. If she wasn't here, though, where was she? Why would they need to be distracted to this extent for a simple marriage ceremony? Was it really that important? Thinking about it, he just couldn't see it...there was definitely more beneath the surface here, perhaps even a reason why they had blown up the Shrine itself just now. But figuring out what that was or might have been was still beyond him. He nearly cursed under his breath as he gripped his staff so hard that he felt as though his fingers might break; Motonari Mori...what a formidable (and despicable) enemy.

"It seems you realize...just how powerless you are before my master's brilliant mind," the transformed shadow-persona-user taunted his enemy in a hollow voice that somehow managed to convey the full sense of superiority and contempt that he held within him, "But even understanding won't make you any less helpless." It was then that the Sixth launched her fire spell, washing over the surprised Investigation Team Leader, but even her intense heat seemed to have a diluted effect as his wand waved away the energy, his speed allowing him to flash away from her attack and beyond the burning walls to wrap his girlfriend within his white jacket then deposit her safely beyond the circle. In another movement he was back inside, his eyes full of content as the butt of his staff caught the stomach of the girl and pushed her back across the grass to the side of her ally...and though he hated the thought of striking the girl at all, there was little else that he could do when faced with this hopeless situation. For his own part, Mifune seemed unmoved...his hand gripping his bone-like sword at his side as it began to brim with intense energy...but just as he seemed ready to bend at the knees and attack, the flames from Mihawk's magatama filled the air and he knew that the time had come to put an end to this conflict for the time being. As much as he would have liked to strike down the silver-haired warrior with his own hand, an order from the First Spear was an order that could not be ignored. It was a moment later that his body reverted to its normal form...his white snake not present upon his shoulders as he put a hand on the shoulder of the empty doll standing at his side. "Luck is on your side...my master calls," the warrior stared Soji down sternly, the fire in the sky still burning from the item, "When next we meet, we will finish our battle. I look forward to the expression you will wear as I steal the last of your hope from you...until then."

He wanted to pursue them as they leaped suddenly to the wall and then back into the darkness after the swordsman who had signaled the retreat, but despite his desires the silver-haired Senior knew that there were more important things they had to tend to. His teammates were enduring their own tough battles and they were probably tired, exhausted even, some of them may have been wounded as well. Amelia needed to be checked over, he needed to make sure that everything was all right, and Rise...well, he couldn't just leave her behind (and he knew that at the pace he would need to carry she, and probably most of the others, couldn't keep up with him). This time he did curse under his breath as he dispersed his transformed state, the energy boost leaving his weakened body (still not right from the stay in the hospital) aching and sore, but he ignored it in lieu of moving his team with a signal away from the burning shrine. It was too far gone to put it out, and they didn't want to be near if the structure of the large thing collapsed. "Everyone, let them go! We need to get outside the Shrine!" he called out as he took Rise by the hand and lead the sudden retreat, only sparing a glance back with his clouded eyes that now reflected the raging fire that consumed the shrine. So much had happened in such a short time...he wasn't even sure he understood it all, but there was nothing he could do about it at the moment. The more pressing concern of getting away from the smoke cloud and the intense heat, protecting his friends, took priority.

...This had been a disaster...he couldn't remember being so utterly beaten in a while, but there was no denying that this whole night they had been played by Motonari Mori. They needed to rethink this...to gather more information. And the next time they made a move to recollect Minori, they wouldn't make the same mistakes of rushing in that they had tonight. For her sake, they couldn't...

Amelia M. Heartilly

All for nothing... With the girl holding tightly onto her shoulder as she stood with shock over the explosion of the shrine itself, Amelia screamed out in terror that Minori was just murdered, her hands covering her mouth tightly with eyes wide as plates and her legs suddenly becoming weak over the very shock of it all... of course her mind finally registered the actual truth. It was all a lie, all a little trick. All for nothing. Every struggle, every wound taken, every piece of energy that was thrown onto the field, after spray and gush of blood... it was all for nothing. "M...mi...n" She was just a distraction? A mere chess piece played cleverly for the warzone that Mori had set up all on his own.. and right now... at this moment there was one question that was left in the shock stricken girl, just one that repeated itself over and over in rapid speed as she tried to get herself out of the fear, out of her panic. "Where ..where is she?! Where is she?!" She looked around but of course there was no sign of her best friend. Where had she gone, where was she taken? Minori needed her, she needed them! "Just what is going on?!"And, all this time... God... Amelia pressed a hand against her left eye, her breathing rapidly and the dread of just that hope being snuffed out by the masterfully planned deeds that Mori has calculated. They could've been there for her, they could've been there to protect her! but instead they were all led into one single trap. A set up. The rich girl held her head tightly, as if trying to recollect just what it was that started all of this, when did this all begin? Just how? Why? What was there to blame? Was was there to wish upon the god of time to fix? The burning fires of the shrine continued on, the rich girl now in a rather helpless state that no doubt some or most of the members were probably feeling now. Their teammate is missing... Her best friend is missing... And this was a battle that they had indeed lost, there was no point in denying it. It was the second signal to the spears the Amelia had suddenly started to shift her eyes around, looking for someone with urgent violet eyes. With all the chaos that has been brought upon the shrine, there was one person whom has taken her worry, her want to find them. A crash from the burning shrine, however, had given her the signal of running from the small area before turning back to see the destructive feast of an inferno. But it wasn't long until the urgent eyes went back to searching whom she wanted, and when spotting the faint blue amongst the growing black of an ominous cloud, her legs instantly took her to him.

"Masamune...!" she breathed before she coughed suddenly by the thick smoke that stung her eyes and choked her throat dry, her legs still trying to make some haste to get to him, despite the pain on her back and shoulder that was throbbing to a merciless level. But that shouldn't matter, that should stay at the back of her mind for now. He came for her... But. Now...he knows. He knows now, doesn't he? Closer and closer she saw the blue, closer and closer she saw the angered sparks of lightening that struck and danced around his Claws with a threatening deadliness. Though, despite the fact that he showed the obvious fury, the intimidating air... still, even with her own hesitation she was still relieved to see him. "M..Masamu--" Amelia stopped at her tracks. Red. There was red all over. He was hurt?! "You're wounded!"That's right, he is wounded. That was his own blood that was spilled on the ground, his own blood that stained his coat and armor... It was suddenly that all familiar twist of guilt had dug inside of Amelia's chest, something in her throat suddenly choking at her again as she stared at the wounds that he had taken from the Spear. And for what? ...Just what for? For whom? Certainly not this deception. But he knows now. Yet, her hand was still reaching for the Dragon's arm, her fingers taking a concerned hold onto his shoulder and still she stepped closer. The knife, though, just kept on twisting in deeper and deeper the longer she looked at the damage, the fact itself that the One-Eyed Dragon lost blood because of her... "Why...?!" that was the first word that slipped through her lips before she even realized it but it was a question that just yearned to be answered. Though she tried to cover it up, her hand now urging for him to get away from the area of the collapsing shrine, once again ignoring her own injury while she kept her worrying eyes on him with a voice speaking in distress. "Come on, you have to get back to base to get those treated." She can't help him, at least not with a simple summon of a healing spell that she has yet to harness. She's unable to. But there had to be someway... someway to mend, someway to repay him. Masamune didn't have to endure this, he didn't have to in the first place. The guilt ate her, she couldn't even look at him straight in the eye! Her head lowered. "Why... did you come for me?" she asked. "...Alone of ...all things?"

If I found you alone in the forrest...I would let you wither and die.

Yuki's eyes glinted with a moment of satisfaction when the great and honored fourth spear placed his hand on her shoulder. Retreat it was then, she would never ignore that order and well... knowing that Soji would have to watch her slip away gave her an odd sense of pleasure and sadness at the same time. Because although she would slip through his weak little fingers back to her master, Yuki wouldn't be able to watch his sadness which was nearly the greatest part of her day. The corner of her mouth twitched slightly as the indecisiveness of her mood began to get to her. Yuki quickly moved her hand to her wrist and tapped the return demon button on her COMP. Sadness, the great demon standing behind her, disappeared into nothingness once more. "It was a pleasure Soji." She bowed slightly and then with blinding speed she was following the fourth spear into the darkness. Oh Yuki wished that the silly little boy would miss her...maybe she would visit, maybe she wouldn't. For now it was back to base until the great lord called upon her services.

User Image~Date Masamune, the One-Eyed Dragon~
User Image

Annoyed...no, he was actually kind of pissed. Very pissed. Though he wouldn't have said it like that himself. How else could the One-Eyed Dragon feel when his perseverance and determination to overcome such a strong enemy had carried him this far, when he fought on in spite of the wounds that he had taken along the way, and when both he and his rival had come together to duel against a man who called himself the greatest swordsman of an age...only to have the man abandon the fight right when it was coming to its climax? Win or lose, battles were meant to be fought until a victor had been decided. It wasn't meant to be done as part of some b*****d's sick scheme, and there certainly wasn't any honor to be had in what the Christian swordsman was doing in his service to Motonari Mori. And yet he acted as though it were Masamune Date and Yukimura Sanada who were in the wrong, who were dishonorable wretches in need of cleansing from this land and not the manipulative coward that he took his orders from. Yeah, you could say that the whole thing pissed him off something awful. And his teeth gnashed together, biting down on his rage as Mihawk retreated to the wall and then leaped back into the darkness, disappearing into the night and leaving the two Devil Kings behind to consider what they had just encountered. His blades circled and the blades slid carefully back into their sheaths, the lightning crackling around him dying down slowly as he tried to remember Kojuro's lessons and calm himself down. There was no point in holding onto this anger right now...he could always unleash it the next time that he crossed paths with that arrogant swordsman and his scheming master. He reminded himself of that...but still, he couldn't hide that he was pissed. His golden eye reflected the light of the moon in a way that almost made it glimmer angrily, the dragon inside his heart visible in the way that he smoldered...and it was with that written on his blood-splattered, handsome face that Amelia found him, fussing over him in a way that might make someone think she wasn't opposed to the title that he had so boisterously given her a month ago...

His gaze shifted only after another second or two passed of watching where the swordsman had left, and when he finally did see the girl, the only hint that he had even heard all of the things she had said to him was the way that he caught her hand and raised an eyebrow as though she was silly for even asking such a question. But no, he couldn't hold onto that lighthearted feeling...not with this rage building inside of his heart. "It's nothing...come on, we're done here," his deep voice came as his grip on her hand remained firm but not painful, though if she were the type to notice, it was perhaps just a little bit more tight than usual. He looked for a moment as though he wanted to say something more than that, but choking it down, he lead the girl swiftly, almost insistently towards the fallen motorcycle near the destroyed gate. Lifting it from the Earth, he dusted off the blue and gold paint job until it was back to its metallic sheen; finally releasing the girl's hand, there was almost a hint of...something...reluctance, maybe?...in his eyes. Or, maybe it was nothing, it was hard to read anything through those schooled features of his, but even when he was at his best it was hard for him to hide the intensity in the dragon's eye.

Throwing his leg over the chopper, he mounted his bike Like a Boss and nodded with his iron-clad helmet towards the seat behind him. It was an invitation...and it was hers to accept or deny. He was sure that her teammates would take her back to Inaba and to her home if she wanted, but if she really had something that she wanted to discuss with him...

Well, she'd be on the bike when he fired it off and took off through the debris of the falling gate and into the distance back home.

Amelia M. Heartilly

Nothing? The girl frowned somewhat when she heard that one, hearing that strained voice as proof that he was having slight trouble. She was surprised by his firm hold on her hand, and as usual that look in his eye was ever intense, Amelia actually managing to look straight into the Dragon's eye. What was it that she saw there? What was that intensity? ... What did he want to say? Though, with the insistent pull that he did with her, she wasn't able to say or ask, seeing that he was ready to get himself out of the area and she was thinking the same. There was nothing here... and the more they should linger, the heavier the loss was going to be. Amelia quickly looked over to her silver head leader, only able to really share what she wanted through eye contact. She was going to go with Date... though she hoped that her leader would understand. There was just something that she had to do, she felt obligated that it had to be explained. Was it betrayal? Please understand, Soji. She nodded over towards her leader and the rest of the team, giving them a bit of a weak smile but for sure one would see that look of gratefulness to them all. Even took a glance towards Yukimura and bowed over to him, knowing that he was going to use Sleipnir to head on back... "Thanks you guys..." She only hoped that her friends weren't taking her ride off with One-Eyed Dragon as an act of betrayal after all the trouble they went through -- Amelia looked away. Perhaps she was over thinking. Soji would understand, right? If not, she'd explain it to him tomorrow for sure. The girl looked back over at Masamune after she felt her hand no longer feeling that nice warmth, looking up only to notice something about him. There it was again... it was something else. It was starting to eat at her now, the curiosity and concern only heightening. Just what was it? What was it that he had to say? Was she seeing right in the first place? It was difficult to tell, all she saw was a hint of something... but with such a disciplined face, for all she knew it was probably nothing, however ignoring the look in his eye was a different matter... Perhaps she was wrong. The fingers of her now empty hand started to rub against each other, for some reason missing the feeling before she stepped forward and got herself on the bike behind him and adjusted her dress before she wrapped her arms around his waist, hoping to avoid any of his wounds. What will happen next? Her head lowered, hearing the motor instantly being fired up to leave behind the horrible debris and fires of the ruined shrine. Time will tell, the result will come soon enough...
