*thinks* I had two weeks of vacation, and I thought 'why not read those HP books that I bought like a year ago and never read'. I ended up reading all four Harry Potter books in one week, but I'm currently trying to finish reading the 5th HP book before the movie comes out. Sadly, I'm only half way through it. sweatdrop After I read the 4th book, I honestly understood why my friends were addicted to this book series. ^_^
Plus, I think Alan Rickman does a wonderful job portraying Severus Snape. 3nodding

Well.. my mom really hates anything that has to do with Harry Potter (It is evil and I will not stand it in our house!) and I had always been interested in it. So out of rebellion I started to read the books and then got completely hooked! I was NOT expecting that at all!

I wasnt really intrested in Harry Potter at first cause I didnt really read a lot but then i sw the first movie with my friend and liked it. I wanted to know what happens next and in more detail so I read the books and grew to love them. At first I didnt even really like the slytherins but then when I really thought about it. I liked how they work plus they werent that bad looking either.

Before I read the books I used to think "Whats so special about a book about some kid who almost dies?" I started hating it after my friend decided to read one of the books instead of hang out with me (when i slept over!). I started reading it and loving it when we were reading the second book at school. I then read the first and became obsessed!

I didn't show any interest in Harry Potter at first but then I read some H/D -fics and then came the movie.. So I'd say that Harry and Draco made me interested in HP, with Snape of course ^^

It was actually my younger brother that got me into the Harry Potter series. We're very close. I was about 11 at the time, and he was 8 or 9. He was telling me how fantastic the books were. And I told him he was a douche. I thought it must be really stupid if my 8 year old brother loved it.
But I've always been an avid reader. And one day, at my father's house, I had nothing to do and had run out of books to read. So I took his copy of HP1 and read it just to keep myself occupied. After that, I was hooked. smile

Scarily enough, my mother.
She bought me the first book and helped me read it as I was only four at the time and in all honesty there are some big words in there for four year olds razz she's bought me (thankfully as I am always broke) all the movies so far and has sometimes finnanced the other books XD
Thanks to her I've been a dedicated and long-term fan, through and through. I always stood up for the books and watched the films religiously at least 3 times ^^' Although I recently had a Potter Party (watched 1, 2, 3 & 4 in a row- yes I am sad whee ) I realised that the younger actors were unable to act (although this is understandable for their age) which made me giggle but it's not like I could have done any better..even now o___O
However, shamefully I still fail to get some of my friends and especially my sister (who's into crime books *GAG*) interested..they all think I'm a freak because I do a regular Potter Watch (no! not the radio station- but my very own "let's go out and see how many non-muggles we can find" type thing...)
...I've been going round thinking I see owls or hear them but apparently they're just innocent pigeons ¬¬ well I'll tell you one thing, they sound pretty damn alike! I stayed up all night at my friends house on her balcony because the street light went out infront of her house in the middle of the night and I was determined to think Ron was coming for me with his deluminator but apparently that was just the lamp dying...but it's all a bit fishy if you ask me ¬¬
..I also believe religiously that Snape will fly through her window one day and I scared the **** out of her by hiding in her cupboard and jumped out going "supriiiise" in a Snape-ish tone XD
We made a song for him XD
Oh god I'm a freak :S and I wrote so much o___o

When HP first came out I didnt read it for the simple fact that the books were so expensive, then one day when I was in Target, I found one lonely little Hp and the Sorcerers stone one the shelf for five dollars. I bought it and I couldnt put it down...so I guess you could say I got me hooked on reading HP

It was one of my teachers actually that got me into Harry Potter. It was back in 1999 [I was nine years old], it was around when the first book came out. She took the book to school and started reading it to us on the last few weeks of school left, at first I was like God, this book is so boring. But a few years later [maybe two or three] my dad buys me the book and I got instantly hooked.

Well sadly enough it was the movies that turned me on only after I had returned the set of books I had gotten for my birthday. After that I was reading them like crazy.
