"Oh, yeah. They've been dating for... a while." Nyx sighed and ate some french fries before Chanute could eat them or throw them all. Nadja and Seth weren't the only people in Team Rocket who were dating. Even she had been bit by the romance bug. She scratched her head sheepishly and moved on to Faleen's return question, since she really wasn't comfortable telling everyone about Mau and her. "Newton was my first. I found him tangled on something outside, shortly after arriving in Kodo."
Chanute was certainly glad that the human who was not her trainer had taken the pesky pokemon away from her. It didn't need more of her food than she'd thrown on the floor for it.

One of the fries caught in Faleen's throat when Nyx used the word "Dating?" she looked a little surprised by this, coughing and clearing her throat. "Oh, I wasn't aware they were dating." That one had completely gone over her head. Wow
Faleen sat, thinking of the name newton... and... having no idea what pokemon that was "I'm sorry Emma, what is Newton?" It seemed that the Agent had also not been around pokemon for very long herself, close to the time she joined Team Rocket. this was a bit of comfort to Faleen, a lot of the others had pokemon all their lives.

"I know, it's strange. Almost as odd as Mau and me-" Oh, she just blurted that out, didn't she? Nyx scratched her head yet again, smiling rather sheepishly. It was still rather embarrassing, and odd, the fact that they were... dating. She was relieved, and even happy about it, maybe, she still wasn't quite ready to admit that, but she had yet to get used to the idea fully.
"Newton? My Drifblim. I suppose you wouldn't know my pokemon, would you?" She did have eleven of them to keep track of, it was a lot of work, and a lot of room. Chanute huffed and shoved another fry into her mouth when she heard that her trainer had other pokemon. That just wouldn't do.

Again, another surprising fact that Faleen had no idea about, She knew Mau of course. "Oh, I didn't know that" she paused here. Now what would be the proper thing to say to something like this? its usually associated with something good, so.. "Congratulations" She finished, with a polite smile. "Mau is a great man." Faleen did have a high opinion of Mau, he took care of her when she was a grunt and helped her quite a bit.
"I'm afraid I don't, save for a few I've met before. how many do you have?"

"Eleven. Newton, Darwin- You know Darwin. He's the blue one." She couldn't out and say she had a Mew in public. "Tesla, a Raichu, Bunsen, a Flareon, Beaker, a Blastoise." Nyx took a tally in her head, that was six. "Langley you know. Mendel the Meganium, Maxwell, you're probably familiar with..." Everyone who was on a raid with Nyx knew Maxwell. She was the giant steel tank of a pokemon. The poor pokemon was injured on the last mission and had been confined to Nyx's room until her leg was healed. "Tazieff, my charizard- The charmeleon I caught evolved. Kelvin, Lore gave me him, he's a Tepig; And now I have Chanute!" Her voice got squeaky and she grinned at the Togepi.
That... was a lot of pokemon. No no no. That wouldn't do at all. She didn't want to share her human. Chanute had to be the only pokemon. Too bad for her, Nyx seemed to collect pokemon like a bookshelf collected dust.
"Ahh- Yes. Thank you? Yes. Thank you." She responded to Faleen's congratulations. Was that something someone said when a person they knew was dating someone? It must have been, since Faleen said it. "How many do you have?"

"Your quite welcome." She replied, though it was after Nyx had listed off... quite a few pokemon, she had expected six... maybe. "Oh my... that is quite a number of pokemon, that must be quite the task taking care of them all." She did recognize a few of the ones she had mentioned.
"I have, Umbreon, Banette, Absol, Sharpedo, Spiritomb, Zorua, Porygon here, and... well... a Charmeleon" she added him at the end, though there was more of a question in her voice when she said his name.

"It is... yes. But, I think I like it." Nyx wouldn't trade any of her pokemon, or give them away. Luckily she'd never connect her fondness for her own pokemon to the fondness the trainers they routinely stole from's fondness for their pokemon; Just like she didn't consider the pokemon she did experiments on in the same way as the ones belonging to her.
"Oh- I remember you saying something about the Charmeleon. Is it giving you problems still? If you were interested, I think maybe being around another of it's line would help. Tazieff has become less of a handful lately." Her Charizard was... special. The creature was a slave to her mind's every random thought and whim, but she was strong, and thankfully seemed to like Nyx. The scientist didn't want to think about what would happen if Tazieff's whims ever turned to something more hostile.

Faleen's first reaction to the offer would have been a firm no, had she not remembered how cold she had acted to the Agent before. There was something familiar about this situation, and it threw up warning flags in her face. difficult Charizard... offer to train the two evo line Pokemon together... Faleen's first reaction to the Charmeleon was to now find the nearest lake and throw the creature's pokeball into the water.
One way or the other this was going to have to stop, she could let it haunt her, or she could refuse to let herself be controlled, let what happened made decisions for her. This was a team, she couldn't brush them all away.
Though for a short time as Faleen sat there, there was an uncertain stillness, and a stiffness in her features. But as the Agent looked up to Nyx, a smile spread along her lips, and confident nod took its place. "I think that would help quite a bit, I'm quite tired of being torched at the moment he's let out."

"Wonderful. We'll put Beaker on guard, just in case it decides it wants to start flaming everyone." Nyx smiled and sat back in the booth, finally done with her lunch. She was still oblivious to the problems plaguing Faleen because of Will; She'd never even known they were friends, or she would have let Faleen know what she thought of the worm.
"Beaker gave me some trouble for the longest time, but then Nadja helped me figure out how to get a handle on her. Now, if she acts up, I don't let her train. Oh- And I bought her a soothe bell. That helped too." Beaker hated the soothe bell. It was so girly.

"Beaker is the Blastoise, I remember seeing her." That was back when she was having trouble. "During the beach training with Nadja"
"That sounds like a good plan to me. We'll see how it goes." she tossed a few more fries to Umbreon, Poyron seeming content where he was, while Faleen absently stroked his head. finishing off the fries, and reaching for her drink. "My Sharpedo took a while to control. I worked quite a long time on him... what exactly is a soothe bell?"

"It's a bell that seems to calm pokemon. It isn't something that would stop a rampaging Gyarados, or make Miss Nadja's Garchomp less murderous, but it is, I suppose, like counting to ten. For pokemon. In chime form." It may have been complete bull-hockey, superstition, or snake oil, but it didn't do any harm to have a bell tied to her Blastoise. Well, except to the pokemon's pride.
Their meal had already been paid for, when they ordered it, so when they were ready to leave, they could leave. Nyx picked Chanute back up into her arms and smiled. "Why do you hate fire types?"

"I see," She didn't sound so convinced of it herself, but if Nyx has said that it seemed to help her pokemon, then perhaps it did, they were different creatures, and sound had an influence on mood, much like music... "well, the more I think about it the more I see what your mean."
Once Nyx seemed to be finished, Faleen reached to grab her things. remembering to return Porygon into his pokeball, and putting it into her bag as she picked it up and stood, waiting for Nyx. With a soft light, lifting a corner of her mouth when she remember saying such a pointless opinion "It wasn't exactly fare right for me to say that, I just seem to have nothing but bad experiences when it comes to them."

"Hm?" Nyx raised a brow quizzically at Faleen. "How so?" As far as Nyx knew, Faleen hadn't had bad experiences with fire types, not like she had. Nyx had delt with a rampaging Charizard, almost being knocked into the volcano while fighting a pair of Charizard, and... having to listen to the Chairman talk about his Rapidash. That still counted, even though it didn't do her any bodily harm, and she'd stolen the blasted thing at the end of the night.

She breathed a little, knowing how pathetic this sounded in her mind, and she knew she would get over it. "Its irrational" she started, shaking her head softly. "They remind me of someone I would much prefer to forget." It was such a stupid way to think, her mother would have been quick to correct this. She looked over to Nyx as they started out together. "Its just lingering bitterness, and I know better." she finished as she shook her head, clearly not comfortable with the way she was thinking, at a moment of weakness, but after acting so cold to the Agent who had done so much for her in the past, she felt she at least deserved more than just a shrug and silence. She'll train that stupid Charmeleon of hers, prove a point to herself if nothing else.

"Ah. I think I can empathize." Nyx remembered when she first got Tesla, her Pichu, now a Raichu. Her old partner had tricked her into catching the electric rodent that had taken up residence in their room, and Nyx had been none too happy. There was no other reason to dislike the line, except for something that happened years ago.
"Oh! Look, a shoe store!" Nyx pointed across the street enthusiastically. Faleen had said something about needing new shoes.
