To say Tomoko was useful in a time of panic was an overstatement. In fact, it was a lie. Certainly when s**t had gone down, the Kitsune crawled up onto the deck from her hiding place below-deck (safe place for her ball was safe) to see what was going on!!

The kitsune clutched the ball of stars to her chest as she watched th-

OH GOD, TENTACLES.

Most japanese creatures probably had some ingrained tentacle reaction. Especially little girls. Like Tomoko. Who stared at them. In abject horror. Was the angry demon going to be starring in an impromptu porno?. The thought was vague in the Kitsune's mind before she .... had no idea what to do. Damage s**t? She didn't even know how to bring herself to using a whip ever!

Which was just sad, to be honest.

But none the less, it seemed a good time to put the sharp object she'd just been handed to use.

...
.....

Though she did swing it about while it was set on one shoulder to try and figure out how it was supposed to be used. Unfortunately, the kitsune accidentally fired it off in the wrong direction and hit something else instead.

Something a little more wooden.

And Boatlike.

Sepheran finished his cooking attempt with Myr, mostly he just helped with the smaller things letting Myr take the lead in what they made and what they used. At least he didn't screw it up too bad which was promising in it's own right for him anyway.

Days seemed to pass by calmly save for the few screaming angry comments that was normal from the ToT on board. Sepheran had gotten used it it though, he was glad nothing was happening-
...
...
Too late...the moment he thought that Sepheran heard the commotion on deck. "This doesn't sound too good..." Sepheran commented lightly Liannan lifting up pointing to the deck. Sepheran nodded and ran up the cries of Malcolm meeting him as he urged everyone to attack the squid who held West. Sepheran was glad it wasn't him...

Grabbing a gun Sepheran steadied his aim waiting for Liannan's signal before he fired.

His attack was close...if only the tentacle hadn't moved at the last minute...

It might have been customary for one's life to flash before their eyes as they were yanked off of a boat by a giant purple tentacle, but nothing like that really happened for West. Instead, he was reminded of Trixie's overly enthusiastic leg-grabbing and Riley's creepy gesturing hair and all he could think to do was bellow with rage. Prior to this moment, the demon had simply been mildly skeeved by tentacles. Now he was forever disturbed by the things.

West wriggled mightily, holding his right arm in the air and trying to disengage the stupid squid with his left.

"GETTOFF GETOFFFF GETTTTOFFFFFFFF!"

Sepheran could hear the screams of West bellowing out as he tried to free himself from the giant squids grasp. Hitching up his gun once he pulled it back and loaded it again he steadied his aim. Now then...relax...calm down...let Liannan guide you...

He mentally prepared himself before taking a steady pose. "Again!" he hissed lightly taking aim once more and waiting for Liannan's cue before pressing the trigger and hoping he would hit the darn tentacle this time and manage to save his poor shipmate from the horrendous fate that awaited him in the squids arms.

As soon as he released this time however his foot slipped causing his aim to hit the boat railing instead. Man would it just be easier if he could see the darn thing...now he had to go and pull the darn thing out before trying again.

West kept whipping his body back and forth, hitting at the tentacle with all the strength he could muster. Sadly, this caused the squid to squish him tighter for a moment. Maybe it thought they were dancing?

"I hate you," he told the thing. It didn't respond.

Once Tomoko took a moment (a long moment) to reset the silly harpoon she had sorta-hooked-the-boat-with (with a lot of ear-droopage-of-shame), she turned to again put on her best fierce-face...and fail horribly at trying to hit the stupid tentacled-thing again.

It was all...

purple...

and tentacle-y. She mostly didn't like the tentacle-part of it (tentacles alone weren't bad, she'd admit, but...in this context, BADDD!!).

Sadly, however, she was so distracted by why she didn't like their resident squid that she completely missed the 'aiming' portion of the gesture! D'oh!

It had taken Sepheran a while to find the harpoon he had fire, unhook it from the boat and reset the thing once more. He really needed to remember not to hit the boat, it took forever to load and he didn't want to risk a leak or something.

Moving back to his spot he looked at Tomoko who was also doing her best to save poor West who squirmed for his life. Right! If you fail keep on trying! Hoisting the gun up once more he steadied his aim and tried to fire once more.

"LET HIM GO!" Sepheran cried out before pulling the trigger once more. This time it looked like it was going to hit...but the tentacle moved just in time escaping his hit...drat!

Mandy had been relaxing on top of the stern, just soaking in the warmth of the sun, when out of nowhere, tentacles attacked.

For a moment all she could do is blink up in frank astonishment from where she laid before Malcolm jerked her out of it. West was in being held by it?

Jack no. This was not allowed. Whilst not exceptiannly close they where Barth pack mule buddies and she wasn't going to be the only one stuck looking after the mooch.

Jumping down from the stern to the deck she quickly grabbed her grappling gun and took aim and failed spectacularly.

Jack damn tentacles! Couldn't they stay still for a moment so she could hack them off.

Sepheran hissed once more...why wouldn't the tentacles stay the Jack still?! Sepheran was not at all happy, stupid squid...but at least he should be thankful he wasn't the one being attacked he supposed...

Reloading the gun once more Sepheran began to try to prepare yet another shot. Surely someone had to be able to save West right? Luckily it seemed another crew mate had appeared to help. Thank Jack, Sepheran was beginning to wonder where everyone had gone off too when they were clearly being attacked. He should have known something was bound to happen on this trip, especially after the Christmas Town Raid.

Aiming his shot Sepheran fired again. Please let it fly true and hit it's target this time Sepheran silently prayed...

Boom, Clang,...

Another hit against the poor ship no where close to his target...Sepheran grumbled to himself and slightly to Liannan telling her to aim for the squid not the ship.

Growingly she yanked the hook from where it had lodged itself in the deck and quickly reloaded. You'd think that with her Fear she'd be better at aiming but she guessed a hooting something was different to falling on something.

Steading her arm she tried to line up with the flailing tentacle again, a brief thought going to where on earth everyone else was - only three of them where fighting on deck - before putting her full concentration into the shot.

Ready... Aim... Fir-

ACK!

Just as Mandy was about to let off her shot a large wave hit the boat rocking it and causing her to stumble, hook flying just pass the taunting tentacle.

Once more the Basilisk had to retrieve his hook from the the poor ship. He patted the wood lightly whispering soft 'sorry' as if the boat was a real thing. Sure it wasn't living but he was just hoping the boat wouldn't get pissed off and throw them overboard...it could happen, at least Sepheran thought so. When it comes to the school he did knew the impossible could happen and he didn't want to take the chance.

After he retrieved his hook he prepared it once more setting it into place in his gun before looking up tilting his head ever slightly so it was easier for him to listen to Liannan's instructions. "Where is the arm?" he asked as he aimed. Seriously, you would think with it being so big it would be easier to hit...

Taking aim Sepheran tried firing once more hoping for better results. Unfortunately his aim was still off...but at least he didn't hit the boat?

Maybe she was too far away? After all with all that waving by the time the hook got to it after she aimed it had moved a heap. Nodding her head decisively she ran towards the edge of the boat and aimed again, much easier - though scarier - at this distance.

Woosh.

K-THUNK.

Direct hit! Suck that squid!

Mandy's good aim caused the tentacle to flinch, its grip loosening from the pain, dropping West into the ocean. Just before the giant squid vanished beneath the waves, another tentacle rose up above the boat, like it was threatening to destroy it... But all it did was roll into a tentacle-fist, shaking it at the boat's occupants before it finally disappeared for good.

Now to pull West back on board. It seems like Malcolm is against the idea if them jumping into the sea, just in case the currents pull them under - he stared at the boil floating on the ocean, eyes not leaving him; he would jump in if the Demon was drowning, but... This is good practice for the students for now.

"Be careful where you aim!"

Sepheran blinked...did he just hear what he thought he did. "Liannan...was that...?" he started before being reassured by her hisses. A smile formed on his face turning to the ghoul who had fired the shot.

"Nice one!" he stated admiringly...but now there was still the fact that West was in the water. Running to the edge he loaded his gun. "Hold on we'll try and get you out of there!" Sephy called out before nodding to Mandy. "Let's do this!" Sepheran replied before aiming his shot and pressing the trigger.

Unfortunately his trigger faulted just spitting the grapple over the edge and into the sea not at all very far. Jack! Why was this thing not working for him? Well only had the choice to pull the thing back in and eventually try again.

The flinch her hit caused unfortunately for Mandy caused the grappling hook to yank out of her hands, toppling her backwards. Landing with an 'ooph' she gave the departing tentacles a snarl and returned it's shaking fist. That's right you flee squidy.

Sending the tentacle one last glare she turned her attention to where West was now, not having really thought ahead more than tentacles = bad. Jack, the ocean. He better not drown after all that effort or else.

Hearing the compliment her fellow student gave her she let a small satisfied a smile flick across her face and a small utterance of "Thanks." before turning back to where the pile of hooks lay. It wasn't like the others where actually here using them. That'd be too helpful.

She was having words with Barth when this was over.

Scooping one up she ran back to the side and rejoined the effort to get West up, taking aim and wondering how one could be careful with a grappling hook.

Well. I guess you could completely and utterly fail to hit anything but water like she just had. That was safe.

Stupid gun. Her last one was better, lucky from being bathed in squid blood. It wasn't that she sucked at aiming guns at all when the target was so much smaller. Not at all.
