Thayne sighed and grumbled under his breath. "Fine, fine. I'll eat the plants." He said, sniffing at one of the berries. Taking a couple of them, he chewed thoughtfully, looking quite comical while doing it. The berries were sweet, and not all that bad...but they were still plants.

"Yep considering thats all I am going to allow you to eat at the moment" Layren pointed out. "besides it will give you incentive to get better so that you'll be able to eat meat again." He looked over to see if Thayne was handling the berries but was just met with comical expressions. Layren sighed and began walking again.

Thayne, who didn't know a poisonous plant from a safe plant, aside from the obvious like poison oak versus blackberries, just walked behind Layren, allowing the purple Phim to pick his food for him. "How long do you think this plant eating business will last?" he asked, trying to sound merely curious rather than pitiful. After all, it wasn't Layren's fault, and he didn't need to be listening to Thayne whine like a baby.

If Thayne was going for a less pitiful tone of voice it didn’t exactly work. Well it was information to store for later he supposed. The occasional plant wasn’t that bad really. “Oh I would say just the first half of the day then we can try some meat that’s easy to digest” Layren stated and hid the dislike from his voice considering that would be fish and he wasn’t a big fish eater. Sure if he couldn’t get nuts and berries and red meet then the fish was better than starving.

Thayne eyed the purple Phim and tilted his head at the other's tone when talking about meat. There was an undertone that most foxes would miss entirely. "If you don't like the plants, you don't have to eat them, Layren. I'll eat what I can, you eat what you want." Thayne said, waving his tail a little to show he was fine with that idea.
"You shouldn't have to force yourself to eat stuff you don't like just cause I can't eat meat very much today."

“Oh no, you don’t have to worry; I’m okay with the berries. I don’t eat much as it is anyways. Besides it’s good to have company in misery? Or something like that” he stated before munching on a couple more berries. “Although I might take you up on that when we go for Fish. I don’t really like it all that much”
“Well that should be enough stuff for the day,” he spoke up having gathered some plants for Thayne to eat. Now the question was how to pass it. Lately that had been outrunning or trying to outwit Thayne seeing as he was no longer doing such a thing….

Thayne shook his head, not entirely convinced that Layren liked the plants. "I like fish, I'll eat your share." Thayne teased lightly. "You should definitely get yourself something though, I'm not that miserable." Thayne poked his nose against Layren's cheek.
"We should go for a walk down to the river." Thayne said. "That way I can move around after being cooped up so long." He said, waving his tail behind him.

“Ah well I don’t know the only other meat would be rabbit and after yesterday I think I’ll stay away from the little pests for a while. I would go for squirrel but I would have to eat way too many squirrels and I don’t like killing squirrels they provide me way too much entertainment.
“Alright, I wouldn’t mind a walk along the river.” Layren agreed. Perhaps maybe he could go swimming later if the storm didn’t show up again. The clouds hovered threateningly in the background.

"Well, there are the moles, they're nearly as large as rabbits. Or a young deer." Thayne offered before remembering he wouldn't be helping so Layren would probably leave him alone to go hunt. "Or you could have fish." He said innocently.
Thayne let out a happy sound and brushed against Layren. "I love the river!" He said, heading off towards the river, making sure he wasn't bouncing around all over the place.

“I don’t want to go digging to get my food unless I’m starving” Layren said with a frowny face. “Like you would let me leave to bring down a deer” he shook his head and then when Thayne mentioned fish he was met with a half baked glare.
“Hey be careful, don’t get too excited.” Layren called watching as Thayne bounded over towards the river. None the less he was looking forward to the river as well.

Thayne countered the glare with a sunny smile and stopped to drink deeply from the river. Plopping down on the bank, the sunset Phim trailed his front paws in the water. "I wont." He promised, even though it was hard for him to stay still for too long.
Still, he'd do almost anything for his mate. Thayne sent him another smile and sent a little splash of water towards Layren. One thing the purple Phim needed to do was loosen up. He was too sad all the time.

‘Uhuh just smile away’ was the thought that crossed Layren’s head. He wasn’t one for too many smiles but he was getting better. Before he was extremely depressed and volatile lashing out at everything now he was getting splashed by a fox he had come to terms with as being his mate.
“gah no splashing the Layren” he stated but none the less used his tail to counter with his own splashing. He had spent a good portion awake last night thinking about himself. Well this was a good start on trying to loosen up.

Taking the splash Layren sent him as the real answer, Thayne thumped his tail on the ground behind him and sent another splash at the purple Phim. He knew he wasn't supposed to get too worked up, so the sunset Phim continued using just his paw. Otherwise Thayne would use his entire body, cannonballing into the water and creating the biggest splash he could.
He gave Layren another huge smile and a couple of chuckles, not minding getting splashed back.

Not really paying attention since he was busy looking at a small bout of movement that had gotten his attention the splash hit him full force. Layren looked back at Thayne with a slightly drowned cat look as he got soaked. Okay that was it, this meant war. With a light tackle the blue and purple phim pulled a thayne and tackled his mate into the water. One could probably count that as cheating but at the same time Layren wasn’t one for holding back anything.
He surfaced and let out a small cat got the canary grin. “I win” he stated. Yep definitely cheating.
