Eh... Reisa knew the race had to be finished... "Kol! Kol, where are you?" She cried. Wait... Her ears perked up. She heard some crashing down near the far end of the ally ways... Yes. He heard her! He wasn't lost, thank the Deities. Turning around, Reis made a run for the fountain.
She was there in a flash, not only tagging the hard concrete but falling head first into the warm water, laughing when she came up. Putting her paws on the edge and her grinning face on her paws, she stared at the ally and waited for a frantic purple male to come darting out.

)) There, up ahead! It still smelled like humans, but there was now a gap of light that led out somewhere. He could hear the faint tinkle of water and smell Reisa now, faint though it was. Pulling on reserves he didn't know he had, Kol put more speed behind his running.((Almost....there!))

Reis saw the exact moment Kol burst from the shadows of the alley way. By now a few humans had taken to staring at her, and they turned to stare at Kol too but the vixen ignored them.
"Nahhhhhhhh~ I beat you I beat you!" She taunted merrily, loud enough that surely he could hear her.

Kol trotted the last few steps up to the fountain, breathing hard. "That you did," he gasped. "Now as winner, will you please show this loser the way out of this city and away from all these humans?" He cast a nervous, side glance at the humans muttering and watching him and Reisa. They looked too interested for his comfort.

The vixen giggled, jumping out of the water and shaking her fur out all over Kol. "Wha'sa matter, foxy boy? People got ya nervous?" She teased, but she knew what he was feeling. A lot of foxes hated the city, it wasn't natural, this concrete forest in which the humans lived.
"Come on, Kol, the quickest way out is this way... but we'll have to go around the city to get back where we came. Unless... Unless you'd rather cut straight back the way we came?" It would take less time, but it would be time in a place Kol wasn't comfortable in, so she figured it was best to give him a choice.
While the male was deciding, she stuck out her tongue at the humans around her, making a few human kits giggle and the adults roll their eyes.

"Whichever route has the least humans," Kol replied, edging away from them and giving the adults in particular wary looks. He might be big enough for his shoulders to reach up to the hips of these creatures, but there were far, far more of them than there were of him.

Reisa nodded and laughed. "Around the city it is! Come on, follow me!" She flicked him with his tail playfully and trotted around the fountain, crossed the street, and ducked into another alley way. This side of the city had more den areas, but was a lot less crowded. There was a couple schools they would pass, but one look at the sun told the vixen all the children would be inside. It was really the calmest part of the day, and in no time they'd be back out into the woods and away from the concrete jungle.

Kol nodded and gratefully followed Reisa as she began leading him out of the city. He did notice a drop in humans the further along they went, and took it as a good sign. "Guess living in wilderness all my life affected me more than I thought it would," he said in a half-joking tone, though secretly a bit chargrined that he'd panicked like that.

Kol sighed, feeling mingled relief and regret as he looked back over the city where Reisa lived. It really was a shame that he didn't like the place at all, cause it seemed to be where she was most comfortable. Ah well, that didn't mean they weren't still friends or anything. Maybe next time he could lure her out into the deep woods or something for payback. Kol had to chuckle at that though. He was pretty sure Reisa would do just as well there as she did in the city.
He cast one more look at the city, then vanished into the sparse growth of the suburbs and began heading back to the forest. Just cause he couldn't offer a red rose of passion, he still got the yellow rose of friendship.
